Animated name bar with alpha channelIs
I saw a pod cast with richard harrington about making name straps in photoshop with an alpha channel. Ive doen this a few times and am plased with the result but now I want to make an animated video clip that I can import to final cut pro and use as a name strap. is this possible?
Ive tryed exporting just the alpha channel and Ive tryed rgb + alpha but cannont get fcp to see it like it dose witht he photoshop files.
is there any tutorials out there? can any one help.
thnaks in advance for any help or adviceIf you use a codec that supports alpha (only a few do) FCP sill see it. You may need top change how FCP interprets the alpha, that flag sometimes gets lost. Animation and ProRes4444 carry the alpha.

I am getting a Changing Password Failed error when I try to join an active directory
I had a working AD configuration under Snow Leopard. When I upgraded to Mountain Lion, my account was no longer in sync with the domain. I got the red dot on the login screen and my domain password was out of sync. I unhooked from the domain at that point. This was several months ago.
However, over the last few weeks, I keep finding myself locked out of the domain. I suspect it's something on my Mac that is trying to use my old credentials. I was hoping to rejoin the domain and see if I could get my account back in sync. When I get a domain admin to enter his password on the Directory Utility join screen, it first notes that the computer account already exists in the domain. I tell it to continue, but I can't get past this point:

Inter-company vendor-customer relationship
I have created a vendor in company code 1000.
This same vendor, I have created it as a Customer in company code 2000.
These two records are connected for netting (made customer and vendor number in the master records and selected 'clearing with customer / vendor' in respective master data).
However, while viewing the open items in FBL1N for the vendor I am not able to view the customer items for this vendor in the company code 2000 even after selecting the 'customer items' as ticked.
Is this the standard behaviour ? Or is it possible to show the balances inter-company wise also ?HI
The scenario you mentioned is incorrect for Intercompany. The scenario you mentioned is for customer who is also a vendor & vice versa.
The feature of ticking the netting flag & populating the Vendor # in Customer master & Customer # in Vendor master is used when we create a Vendor-Customer in same company code and the Customer is also a Vendor & vice-versa.
Try creating vendor & customer in same company code i.e. 1000 & eatablish the vendor - customer relationship by populating Customer # in vendor master & vendor # in customer master and also tick the netting flag. Post some documents for customer as well as Vendor. Now run FBL1N or FBL5N both customer as well as vendor documents will be picked.
Whereas when you try an Inter Company posting make sure you have done proper configuration for the same. Create intercompany adjustment a/c's for both the companies & assigne the same across the companies through T Code OBYA.
Select Customer as well as vendor in selection criteria for FBL1N. It should display documents for both the company codes. -
Channel for incoming mail addressed to specific domain
I am trying to create a channel for all incoming messages addressed to a specific domain.
I know that all incoming Internet mails go to tcp_local first.
What I want to do is to separate mails for different domains to different channels so I could later process them, either with conversion channel or with some channel filters.
Also, after passing trough those specific channels, how to put those mails back on track for delivery?
Can anyone help on doing this?
Thanks
Im running (on Solaris 8) MS5.2p1 hf1.21To look over the docs but I already did, and its pretty bad, poorly explained
So, please lets try to make this clear.
Note, every time after making changes I run:
imsimta cnbuild
imsimta restart
First, you gave an example to me (reply 5):
[email protected]%tcp_friendly-daemon
Second, I was not sure from your post where to put space (reply6), and I tested both cases:
domain.net$E$F [email protected]%tcp_friendly-daemon # space between $F and $U
and
domain.net [email protected]%tcp_friendly-daemon # space between domain.net and $E
Unfortunately, nothing has changed.
Third, you wrote (reply 7) No spaces.
Forth, I tested that as well and it gave me an error (reply 8).
Fifth, in your last reply (reply 9) you said that I need a left and a right half, and you suggested an example that Ive already checked (reply 6) and it wasnt working :(
So, now I am completely lost
Here is the result of testing this last example in imta.cnf:
domain.net [email protected]%tcp_friendly-daemon # space between domain.net and $E
! tcp_friendly
tcp_friendly smtp mx single_sys subdirs 20 noreverse maxjobs 7 pool SMTP_POOL mailfromdnsverify maytlsserver allowswitchchannel saslswitchchannel tcp_auth
tcp_friendly-daemon
imsimta cnbuild
imsimta restart
imsimta test -rewrite -debug [email protected]
Could you review this result, please and try to see what is wrong.

Lync Mobile client signs out - Unknown Error- requires IIS reset on Front End
My Mobile clients are signing out on their own and do not sign back in until I reset the IIS on my front end server. i have a standard edition front end with IIS ARR as my reverse proxy.
Another issue that I have (this is sporadic) is that when a mobile device is connected to internal wifi it fails to sign and and the only way to get it back to work is to turn off wifi , sign in, and then you can turn on wifi and then it can sign in even
if wifi is on. This will work for sometime until the issue comes back again.
I would appreciate if anyone can help me resolve this issue.
ThanksHi,
Which version of IIS did you use? If you are deploying mobility, we recommend that you use IIS 7.5. The Lync Server Mobility Service installer sets some ASP.NET flags to improve performance. IIS 7.5 is installed by default on Windows Server 2008
R2, and the Mobility Service installer automatically changes the ASP.NET settings. If you use IIS 7.0 on Windows Server 2008, you need to manually change these settings.

this is more a mathematical/physical problem than a java problem (although it is going to be used in a java program...)
if i wanted to calculate I in the following equation by means of a gradient on a graph, how would i rearragne the equation or whatever....
a = g/(1+(I/mr^2))
i.e. want to make a graph that has a and m on the axes....
Cheers
Sarah :)Argh. I believe I know the answer the OP is seeking. As soon as I went to sleep I figured it out.
It turns out I was thinking too hard earlier when I said we want a<<g. I was thinking a was on both sides of the equation and therefore I had a parametrized equation that wouldn't give a line. What a doofus. That's not right. You will get a line if you plot the applied torque versus the angular acceleration. It is parametrized, but that doesn't stop the plot of y vs. x from being a line if the equation says it is.
Suppose we are doing the experiment where we have a disk with a string wrapped around it, there's no friction and on the string we hang various masses.
Let T = tension in the string
Let m = the hanging mass
Let I = moment of inertia of the disk
Let R = radius of the disk. The string is wound around the disk at this radius
Let a = the acceleration of the mass = tangential acceleration of the disk
Let alpha = the angular acceleration = a/R
Then by Newton's second law (linear and rotational)
Net torque = T*R (assuming no friction) = I*alpha
Net force on the hanging mass = ma = mg - T
So T = m(g-a)
and substituting this in the first equation m(g-a)R = I*a/R.
If you rearrange, you find the OP's equation:
maR+Ia/R = mgR
a(1 + I/(mR^2)) = mgR
a = mgR/(1+I/(mR^2))
This I had mentioned as correct earlier, for the case when there is no friction and we have a mass hanging on a disk. But where I was mistaken I was when I was thinking that plotting a vs. m would be better than applied torque vs. alpha, since the torque and alpha both have a in them, and we usually say "plot the dependent vs. the independent variable" like a mantra. Mathematically this is not strictly necessary.
If you compute applied torque = m(g-a)R and alpha = a/R, then you can plot applied torque on the y axis, angular acceleration on the x axis. By the equation
applied torque = I*alpha, this will be linear and the slope will be I, and the y intercept will be zero.
That's the simplest possible way to do this. (Providing my surmise about your experiment is correct)
D'oh!

Adobe Grow Bounds vs Red Giant Grow Bounds
I'm using the lovely Frischluft LensCare Out of Focus on a text layer. I notice the blur doesn't go outside the bounds of the text. I apply AE's Grow Bounds before the blur and adjust the border value. Nothing changes.
I delete Grow Bounds and apply Red Giant RGS Grow Bounds and the blur is instanly fixed.. even with the grow bounds set to 0 pixels.
Any idea what's why one works and the other does't? I thought they both did the same thing.
(CS6 11.0.2, Mac 10.6.8, Adobe Grow_Bounds v1.1, Red Giant Grow Bounds 1.1, LensCare 1.4.7)I think RGS Grow bounds sets the Alpha channel flags in addition to the layer bounds. AE's version doesn't do that, so effects that don't take care of the Alpha themselves have no paint canvas. It's a minor technicality that makes all the difference...

Could Time Capsule be able to work connected to an Alpha R36 router with 3G based wifi net?
Hello everyone from Spain.
I live in a rural area and we don't have any internet connection apart from 3G. I bought an Alpha R36 3G-wifi router and I was able to create a 3G-based wifi networkat home. Despite, when I tried to connect my Time Capsule to the router to enhace my wifi network I wasn't able to do it. I had no problems creating my own wifi network with Time Capsule in the city, but I can't use it at home. Could you help me? I don't know if it's possible to do it and how to do it.
Here is the link of the router:
http://www.alfa.com.tw/in/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=R36&Category=0
Thank you very much!Make sure you plug the TC into the LAN port of the alfa. Bridge the TC so it does not route, leave that to the alfa, and just use the TC for wireless network. Since you are doing that, turn off the wifi in the alfa and just use the TC. That should then work fine.

Hello,
can somebody explain the usage of the "MRP net" box within the Material Requirement screen?
In the past with 11i this was set as default, now in R12 it is not set for Non-Standard Wip Jobs.
We are using Non-Standard Wip Jobs for Repair.
Can we change this? What impact this will have?
We are using MRP and also Manufacturing Wip Jobs.
regards
IlonaDear,
Length-based MRP is designed to deliver optimal allocation of requirements (length items in sales orders, for example) to available stock and production. This is achieved by ensuring that real-time changes in the stock/ requirements situation are taken into account by MRP. Allocation of stock to requirements is carried out by APO modules with different control logic. Customer specific logic can be implemented for that.
Hope clear to you.

Hi;
I'm trying to tweak a script I found online to work for my application. The problem I am having is to make a certain part of the bitmap that is created by code transparent...but only a certain part of it. The code has the following:
_fire = new BitmapData(865, 92, false, 0xffffff);
Note
the alpha flag must be set to false, which is the source of my problem,
or nothing prints to screen at all. I need to make certain pixels
transparent. _fire is added to the stage and then called thus:
_fire.paletteMap(_grey, _grey.rect, ZERO_POINT, _redArray, _greenArray, _blueArray, _alphaArray);
at the end of the script. The colors for the arrays are created thusly:
private function _createPalette(idx:int):void {
_redArray = [];
_greenArray = [];
_blueArray = [];
_alphaArray = [];
for (var i:int = 0; i < 256; i++) {
var gp:int = new int();
gp = _fireColor.getPixel(i, 0);
if (gp < 1050112)
_redArray.push(255);
_alphaArray.push(255);
} else {
_redArray.push(gp);
_alphaArray.push(0);
_greenArray.push(0);
_blueArray.push(0);
I
added that if clause to capture when the color is black because that's
where I need to make it transparent. The problem is that where I need it
to be transparent, it's blue (why blue I don't know). Is there any way
to make it transparent? The entire code follows.
TIA,
George

Little more research I found that auto login needs to be enabled. I am still working on resolving this issue, I have spent over 12 hrs to resolve this issue. I will post with my troubleshooting results. Please advise.

[LAVA Cross Post] CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha Shortcuts don't work in LabVIEW
Cross-post from LAVA: http://lavag.org/topic/15619-ctrlshift-shortcuts-sometimes-not-working-in-labview/
Bug Synopsis: CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts do not work in LabVIEW. Most notably, CTRL+SHIFT+Z, CTRL+SHIFT+E, and CTRL+SHIFT+S
Test setup: LV2012 32bit with f1 patch running in Win7 64bit inside a Parallels 8 VM in OS X 10.8.1
To summarize the testing I have tried:
Many different LabVIEW, Guest OS, and Host OS combinations all fail, including:
LV2012f1 32 and 64 bit, and LV2009 32 bit
Win7 32 and 64bit, and also WinXP x64
Parallels 7 and Parallels 8
OS X 10.7 and 10.8
Capturing the keyboard by the VM
Twiddling every keyboard setting possible on Parallels, Guest, and Host
Reinstalling keyboard drivers
Plugging in a known-good keyboard that works on a native Windows machine
Deleting LabVIEW.ini and letting it regenerate
Remapping the shortcuts from, e.g., CTRL+SHIFT+E to CTRL+E - in this case, "Show in Project" works, so this might indicate it's a problem registering the shortcut press, not invoking the action itself.
Sending the keystrokes via on-screen keyboards from both Guest and Host
Sending the keystrokes via SendInput from user32.dll WinAPI
Testing every imaginable combo of FN, CONTROL, ALT/OPTION, COMMAND/CMD, SHIFT
Reinstalling VMs from scratch and reinstalling LV
Here's a kicker: CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts work fine on other Windows programs (I've tried 4 different programs, including Chrome, Notepad++, Paint.NET), yet it does NOT work for VIPM with CTRL+SHIFT+C. This means that the only two programs where the CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha bugs exist are both LabVIEW-related.
Here's another kicker: It's only CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts with the prob - CTRL+SHIFT+3 properly toggles grid alignment, and the "Tools >> Options >> Menu shortcuts" will register any CTRL+SHIFT+Non-alpha shortcut; it just does not respond to the CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts.
Any new troubleshooting ideas are highly appreciated; please feel free to jump in here or on LAVA.

Still well and alive in Parallels 9 and LabVIEW 2013 SP1. Of course I could upgrade to the latest versions to check whether things have gotten any better.
Any news on that?
@mellroth figured out the solution :-)

Hi
I have installed coheI have installed coherence server "fmw_12.1.3.0.0_coherence_Disk1_1of1.zip" along with Examples on windows machine and C++ client coherence-cpp-12.1.3.0.0b51709-windows-x86-vs2012.zip on the same machine.
I have built the "contacts" C++ Example successfully and while I execute this "contacts" using run I am facing TcpAcceptor error.
On my coherence server the TcpAcceptor is listening on port 8088, so I have modified the extend-cache-config.xml file with values "ip address of my windows machine" and port as "8088".
All the time I am getting below error,
coherence::net::messaging::ConnectionException: could not establish a connection to one of the following addresses: {10.242.152.242/10.242.152.242:8088}; make sure the "remote-addresses" configuration element contains an address and port of a running TcpAcceptor
