Alphabetizing favorites in XP

Tried to search, but no results. How do you alphabetize favorites in XP on an SL500? The "right click and sort by name" approach does not seem to work for me.

This is really lame. The favorites list should automatically be sorted by something other than when it was added to the list. In my old Android OS it was sorted by contact name. Android has many other problems and I like my new iPhone but this makes searching for a contact in this list more difficult and sorting manually entry by entry is not an adequate answer to the issue.

Alphabetical order of favorites list

I would like to place the entries in my favorites list in alphabetical order. Is there a way to do this. If not does anyone know whether it will be available in an update

Not possible, but you can arrange contacts in your Favorites list in any order you want.
Select Favorites, and then the Edit button at the top to Edit your Favorites list.
This provides an option to delete a favorite - located to the left of each favorite, and an option to move/slide a favorite up or down in the list, located to the right of each favorite. Place your finger on the 3 gray lines - press and slide the chosen favorite to where you want it located in your Favorites list.
Press Done with finished.

I imported my favorites from ie and am unable to sort them with folders first and then individuals in alphabetical order

That's the problem - when I begin to type www. all the pages that I visited in my PREVIOUS PC show up in a drop down list, whether or not I have a CURRENT bookmark for that web address. So even if I don't have a bookmark associated with one of the drop-down suggestions, it still is showing up I'm trying to figure out where that drop-down list resides - must be in some file somewhere. As I mentioned, any CURRENT webpages that I visit show up in the usual history location, and I can delete them no problem. Somewhere along the line when I imported former Internet Explorer bookmarks from my PC it came with this drop-down history list that I can't get rid of. It isn't a real big deal, but is annoying!

I copied a smart playlist to a regular playlist in order to change the order of the individual selections. I then burned the regular playlist to a cd, but the cd burned it in alphabetical order as it appears on the smart playlist.

I changed the order, then burned a cd but the cd copied the songs in the order of the smart playlist, which was alphabetical. What am i doing wrong in this scenario, and is there a way to change the song order in a smart playlist? I am a new MAC user. Is this unique to the MAC format?

I'm trying to figure out a way to make a playlist of songs I generally like from a very large library to fit on my iPod. The songs aren't rated, and I don't want to have a totally random selection chosen by a smart playlist.
I usually make two playlists.
One playlist with favorites I do want on the iPod and another smart playlist to fill the rest of the iPod. Just limit the size to th esize of the iPod minus wthe size of my iPod selection playlist.

Firefox will not import all of the favorites from Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 64-bit OS!

There is another post about this problem in the forum, but the answer does not work. This is the first time I've ever encountered this problem when installing/using Firefox on my desktop PC. I have a new (3/25/14) Dell XPS 8700 desktop tower with Windows 8.1 64-bit (and now Update 1) installed, along with Internet Explorer 11. I previously had a 2005 Dell Dimension 5100 desktop tower running XP Pro SP3 32-bit, which never had any issues running Firefox, but has since died. I used to run Firefox as my default browser, but not any longer. Now, during the install process, Firefox asks if you want to import from Internet Explorer, as it has always done before. I chose yes, and it reported that it pulled everything in from IE. However, it only imported my favorites folders whose names start with a numeral, and then A, B, and onward down the alphabet, but it doesn't import anything more after getting to the folders whose names start with E. So, all of my remaining Favorites folders whose names start with F, G, and forward down the alphabet from there are all absent from Firefox's Bookmarks. I also tried importing the favorites after installing Firefox, which I don't prefer since Firefox installs a folder called Internet Explorer to go to first to get to your favorites. However, still, Firefox only brought in my favorites folders from A to E, and stopped there again. I do not see any way to export my favorites from Internet Explorer (there is no import/export option under favorites, nor anywhere else in IE 11). Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox resulted in the same problem, even after making sure to delete my settings, etc., in the process. Please update Firefox's installation executable so it's able to import ALL of Internet Explorer 11's favorites folders and their contents, complete, as it has always done before. Please contact me when the corrected executable to install Firefox properly is ready for download. Thank you.

If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

How do I get to show my history listings in my favorites??

I'm pretty sure everything from the 'Songs' list on the iPod is automatically alphabetical. It's the same on all iPods as well. Maybe you have some other characters in front of the song name or perhaps you're looking at a song list through another list such as 'Artist' or 'Genre'?

Wish list-Channel display, need more favorites, need easier navigation to delete and view

1) Whenever I change channels, I get an info overlay that shows time, channel, and brief info--it fills about lower 1/4 of screen and does not go away for 5-6 seconds. How to get rid of this display or display for 1-2 seconds so I can see what is on the screen. If I want to know what channel and info, I can always hit info button..........??
or allow a "display channel only" option in modes (e.g., show HD channels only mode) or allow as a setup option to reduce the footprint/area of this info

If you hit the EXIT button on the lefthand side of the remote next to the circle of Arrow Buttons, it will immediately remove the info. There is a way to change the amount of time this info stays on the screen (I changed mine way back when I first switched to FIOS), but I don't remember how. Found it somewhere in the menu selections - I think for the remote or maybe the display sections. Anyway, it's in there! Hope that helps.

How can I display favorites products list as table?

When I insert favorites list module on a page,

it renders them as <li> (one per row). I want them to render as the product list. (Several products per row).

How can I do this?

No - I still can't make it work. Tried a lot of different things but it's like theres only one LI in the list, containing all the items added to the fauvorite list.

Can I import bookmarks/favorites WITHOUT having them reorganized the way FF wants them?

This issue seems common to every browser, but it's maddening to me and has prevented me from changing browsers before, but I'm really tired of IE.
I have a lot of folders with bookmarks, and within those folders are other folders with bookmarks. The folders are in the order I want them in, as are their contents. After importing, everything has been alphabetized, and the whole structure has become worthless to me. Dragging and dropping a couple of hundred items individually is not what I want to do. Is there a way to import things exactly as they are? Would this be a logical option to have for a feature like this?

You can export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

Bookmarks, Putting them in alphabetical order

Sorry if this has been done before, How do you sort bookmarks by alphabetical order in your popular folder, I have tranfered them from IE7 ok but have drawn a blank. Also how would i copy all my bookmarks into this folder.

not sure how to put in order but you can click on the open book icon to the right under the arrow and drag your imported IE favorite to the book marks menu or any other folder in there and rename it what you like, but as for order i haven't yet figured this out.

Alphabetic Font on Scroll **NOT** on iPod video, why?

I got my Mother-in-law a iPod nano and after loading all her favorite tunes onto it and checking all the music had loaded I noticed that when you scrolled through the albums list it would display in large font A-B-C... informing you where you were in your library. This is great but why don't I have it on on my 30g iPod video? Can anyone help?

Is there a way to adjust the space between and space around the items in the Favorites portlet? I want the spacing to match the spacing in rest of the portlets on the page.

What is the difference between bookmarks and favorites? I use favorites, but only see instructions for bookmarks. I use windows 7 and all the folders and individual sites were listed together alphabetically. Now all the folders are listed together, and there are two different sections of alphabetized sites below that. Why? How do I get all the favorites listed together in alphabetical order?

The term favorites, or favourites, is used by other browsers such as Internet Explorer, whereas Firefox uses the term bookmarks.
The technology behind the two also differs somewhat, but it is still for instance possible to import favourites from IE to Firefox see

Is there a way of making my iPod's "cover flow" sort in the same way the software can . Artist -- Album by Year . It only seems to do Artist -- by Alphabetical Album . I want it look like it does on the PC .

Is there a way to make the "cover flow" on the iPod match the sort style that I use on the software . I go with Artist -- Album by Release Year . But the ipod seems to only do Artist -- Alphabetical by Album , and then there are a handful of albums oddly out of place . Can it be done ?

Ottonomy, here's what to do.
Connect your iPhone to your computer and open the iPhone's playlist in an iTunes window. Copy/Paste the entire playlist into a new(!) playlist in iTunes, not on your iPhone. Then resort the playlist. After you sort it, Copy/Paste it to a new(!) playlist on your iPhone. Now delete the old playlist on your iPhone and rename the new playlist the name you want it to be (probably the same name as the old playlist).
The downside to this method is that you have to do it every time you add a song to the playlist. Unfortunately, I don't think there's another way.
