Already have BT phone - do I really have to re-ord...

Spoke to a nice girl on the web chat client yesterday about switching to BT Infinity 2, but it seems like I have to go through the whole process of re-ordering my phone package when I order Infinity 2?
I mean, I hope I keep my original phone number? I'm lost as to why I can't go to My Account and just say "please add Infinity 2 and sign me up for the contract as necessary?"
But I can't do that and instead have to sign a new contract for the weekend calls package and then add weekday calls if I want the phone package that I have at the moment? I currently have free calls 24/7.
It all feels a bit complicated and would be nice if when ordering I was speaking to someone here on the phone rather than in India, just so that I knew 100% exactly what I was getting, as I want exactly the phone package (and same number) that I have now, and just Infinity 2 stuck on top. Thanks for any help

If your minimum-period contract is up, BT will almost certainly require you take out a new one if you want to make any changes. Any existing perks will end but you might get price reductions for some items in return for committing to a fixed term.
Best bet is to call the Options Team on 0800 800 030 and discuss your requirements. When you have the BT price for a new package you can decide whether to go for that or stay as you are. Your phone number won't change if you recontract.

  • IPhone vs other phones if I already have a Mac

I currently own a MacBook Pro 2010 and an iPhone 4s. My contract for my phone just ended and I'm thinking of getting an Android one because of its many features and I've invested more into Google apps than iOS native ones. However, I hear a lot of people saying that if I already have a Mac, then I should just stick to iPhone since its more "comfortable" and "easy".
My question is, what are the exclusive features/tricks that I can do with my Mac and iPhone? It seems nowadays I use my iPhone and Mac almost separately. Examples:
    - I seldom sync music anymore from my iTunes to my phone since I'm already using Spotify.
    - My friends and I use Viber as our messaging app so I don't use iMessages anymore (I also make calls a lot more than text).
    - I use Waze more than Google Maps. Apple Maps are not that helpful in our country.
    - Since my MBPro is quite old and slow, I seldom open iPhoto or use Photo Stream and instead use Dropbox and Google Drive.
    - I've already backed up my contacts to Google Drive.
    - I use MS Office instead of the native iWork apps.
All of these I think I can do even with other phones. Is there anything that I've missed/not been utilizing with my iPhone and Mac for them to work together. Are there features from the newer iPhones that creates an advantage if I already have existing Apple products?
    Thanks!

You could consider buying a pay-as-you-go android phone (you buy the phone up front and just pay month-to-month for your cellular voice and data).  Then if you find you really like the Android phone, you are all set and can consider selling the current one for a more powerful, more expensive one if you find you want more of the same thing, or even getting a 2 year contract with a carrier.
Or if you find after using the Android phone for a few months you do not like it, you can sell it and get a new iPhone.  Since you are a month-to-month pay-as-you-go plan, there is no penalty for switching, and since you actually own the phone, you can sell it to recover some of your costs.
Just a thought on an alternative way to explore your phone options.
NOTE:  Some of the less expensive with more features pay-as-you-go plans, use Sprint or T-Mobile as the cellular network (the services rent time from Sprint or T-Mobile), so make sure when you pick a pay-as-you-go plan you make sure the backing cellular service provides the coverage you need.  For example, I use VirginMobile which is on Sprint and it works well for where I live, but I went on vacation in Maine, and the locals tell me only Verizion works in the area I was vacationing.  For a vacation being without cell phone service was not a hardship, but it really does need to work where you live.
You also save a lot of money with a pay-as-you-go plan.  I start saving money after about 12-14 months with my VirginMobile plan vs a 2 year contract phone even after buying my iPhone 4s and my $30+state sales tax each month.

  • I have the version of itunes the ios 7 update requires but every time i try to update my phone it says i need the itunes version 11.0.5 but i already have it?

i have the version of itunes the ios 7 update requires but every time i try to update my phone it says i need the itunes version 11.0.5 but i already have it?

You need iTunes 11.1 which is not available for download in google chrome or other browsers.  The only browser it has worked for with me is Safari.  Hope this helps!

  • I tried to sync my phone and received this message: "iTunes was unable to load data class info from sync services. Reconnect or try again later." Now it doesn't sync calendars because it says I need to download Outlook, which I already have

I have synced my phone to my computer several times. This time i received this message: "iTunes was unable to load data class infor from sync services. Reconnect or try again later." It says if I want to sync calendar I must install Outlook to my computer?? Why does iTunes not recongnize that I already have Outlook installed on my computer?

This worked for me...i did a restore on my computer to take it to a date prior to the last update i did on itunes and now it works just fine.  Everytime i do a backup it syncs my Outlook! When a request comes up saying there's a new version of itunes click here to download the latest one DON'T do it.
Here's how to do a restore on your computer:
    Create a restore point
A restore point is a representation of a stored state of your computer's system files. You can use a restore point to restore your computer's system files to an earlier point in time. Restore points are automatically created by System Restore weekly and when System Restore detects the beginning of a change to your computer, such as when you install a program or a driver.
System image backups stored on hard disks can also be used for System Restore, just like the restore points created by system protection. Even though system image backups contain both your system files and personal data, your data files won't be affected by System Restore. For more information about system images, see What is a system image? You can create a restore point manually at any time by following the steps below.
Go to the Windows website to watch the video. (1:08)
      Click to open System.
In the left pane, click System protection. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the System Protection tab, and then click Create.
In the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then click Create.
For more information about System Restore, see What is System Restore?
    I HOPE THIS WORKS!

  • When I try to open my iTunes on my iPhone 4S it shuts off right away. Ho do I fix this? I have already turned my phone on and off a bunch of times

Every time I try to open my iTunes app on my iphone 4 s it opens but then shuts down right away. I have already turned my phone on and off and did the reset thing by pushing the home and sleep button together and I hooked up my phone to my computers to update and none of these have worked. What works? Does anyone know?  Thanks

    Hi
I've got a similar problem.  iTunes v10.2 worked fine, but when I tried to update it to 10.5 I got a 'Bonjour' error.  I eventually solved that but I still couldn't upgrade to 10.5, so I deleted every single Apple, Quicktime, iTunes, etc file on my PC using Revo Unistaller (because the normal Windows Add/Delete programs wouldn't work) but now, when I install the latest iTunes version from scratch (on XP SP3), it says: "the installer encountered errors before it could be configured.... your system has not been modified"
    Any ideas?

  • How can I sync the contacts in my phone with those on my MacBook Pro? I already have an iCloud account, and everything else (calendars, music, etc.I is already synched) but the contacts won't.

    Ok.
Open System Preferences, Apple Logo icon in the menu bar and then System Preferences or the Sys Pref iocon in the Dock and go to the Internet Accounts area and look at your iCloud account. It should list what is and isn't synced by a checkmark next to each item.
Also in the Contacts app click on Contacts in the menu bar and select Preferences then accounts and make sure your iCloud account is listed. You can also do that from the Internet Accounts area in System Preferences.

You made a purchase and exhausted the credit on your card before it processed. All purchases are final. Contact iTunes Store support. You need to settle up before you can purchase or download anything else.

I am trying to hard sync my i phone to my MAC before I purchase a new phone. My MAC however has a pop up that says I already have 5 computers associated with this ID. So I went into i tunes store and had a list of 4 items, I deauthorized 2, my i pod & i pad, which left 2 items on the list. However I am still getting the same pop up saying I have 5 devices. Any ideas how to correct this?

Go to one of the other computers and use the Deauthorize Computer function. If you don't have physical or network access to any of them, use the Deauthorize All command documented in the article you asked this question from, and if that's not an option, the link to contact the iTunes Store staff at the bottom of it.

  • How can I sync my iPhone music to my new Mac with out loosing my the music I already have in the phone?

Bought a new Mac and iTunes won't let me sync new music to my phone because I used to sync it in my old Mac.  How can I sync with the new PC with out loosing the music I already have in my phone?

Copy everything from your old computer to your new one then sync.
Iphone will sync with one library/computer at a time.  Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

I have an iphone 4s and i keep getting an error message when ever i try to activate i have already restored the phone and it still will not work. any help would be greatly appreciated

Activation issues are almost always the result of a device that has been hacked or jailbroken.  If that is the case, no support can be provided here.

  • HT1420 i just hookup a new desktop and stopped using my old one and it say i have already have 5 computers. i have 1 i phone and 1 i pad and a new desktop

i changed my pc desktop and trying to turn on homeshareing but it says i already have 5 computers.
i have a mac pro ,i pad, i phone and had i tunes on old pc how do i get this one connected without wipe out all the accounts?

If you've got 5 computers authorised for the account in question, and you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.
For instructions, see the following document:
