ALSB Product Roadmap question

Hi,
Am curious if the ALSB product roadmap includes support for Web Services Notifications and Web Services Resource Framework anytime soon ?
Both are OASIS standards.

Unfortunately this is currently not a supported configuration. A domain must contain a single ALSB cluster. This is something we are looking to improve in the future.

  • AIRHelp product roadmap?

There is a lot of enthusiasm for AIR Help and the early adopters have made some good suggestions! Does anyone know if Adobe plans continued updates to AIR Help, and if so, how to get feature requests to them? Is there a product roadmap? For example, we are stalled until there is a way for us to handle end user comments over the internet (the way Adobe can with some of their product help), and whether we can virtualize the system (using Endeavors). I'm planning for next year's deliverables and would love to know whether particular problems are being solved and we can move forward with AIRHelp. thanks -Dee

Only Adobe know their plans and it is their policy not to publish them so no one can answer the question here. I don't doubt there will be changes but what they are is something else.
    Submitting feature requests is easy.

When you talk of sharing comments over the internet, do you really mean internet or an intranet? If the latter, there is a solution on my site.
Can't help you on virtualisation. Perhaps if you explain a bit more.

  • Creation of a Multi-Year Product Roadmap in Project 2010

I am looking to see if I can efficiently create a product roadmap using Project 2010.  For a given business unit in our corporation I have product categories and under those categories I have products and/or projects I want to show on a timeline.  I
was able to brute force this into a timeline but I would think there is an easier way to do this.
For example, I would like to be able to put the description of the product/project inside the bar on the ghantt chart but I get an error when I try to do that.  I increased the bar height to allow for legible text but still no luck.
I want each entry for a given product category to automatically produce a bar of the right color with starting and ending symbols as needed based on the type of entry I add (product versus project).
Is there any way to add an outline to the bars of different colors to designate the difference between a sustaining, anticipated, active, and discontinued product or project?
Or would I be better served to go find an aftermarket piece of software that will do this type of work instead of trying to use MS Project for something it wasn't specifically designed?
    Thank you for any feedback.
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
    Here is a
tutorial that might help you coloring your bar style. This is based on the resource name but you could have a custom field with your product category which trigger a flag then the bar style will be formated
    based on the flag.
Then about the description in the bar, I'm afraid this is not intended for this purpose. What about the note fields?
    Hope this helps,

  • Where else can I go for answers to my CS production Premium questions?

I have not gotten any replies to my questions. Where else can i go to get answers to my Creative Suits Production Premium questions so I can use my program? I keep getting error messages when importing video and cannot even begin.

That's an invalid resolution. Adobe products only support standardized resolutions as they are commonly used in video production, well, at least in Premiere. This has something to do with hardware acceleration features for realtime playback. You should be able to open the file in After Effects, though. If that still doesn't work, you may have to run it through a conversion tool like Handbrake. To avoid such issues in the future, you should set your preferences on teh phone to a standard resolution like 640x480, 360x480 or 720x1280 pixels. It may look squished on the phone, but will be much better for later video processing. Also use plain MP4/ H.264 files, not MOV if possible.

  • Acrobat.exe product version question

    Hi
Does anyone know of a link in Adobe where it shows every product version number for all acrobat.exe they have produced?
Basically i just want to be able to see which version of the file is a professional and standard version. (Based on the file product number).
eg. Acrobat.exe product number 8.1.0.2007051100 is a professional version.
    Thanks
    DM

I think there is a list, but the problem is it may vary based on the source and version as I recall a comment before. Anyway, the fastest way of getting the information is still probably to run the program, using one with Pro and one with Std. Sorry that I can't be more helpful, but the last time I saw a question about these numbers the answer was rather mixed and indicated it varied with the source of the product and several other factors. I don't really know more.

  • Premiere Workflow Final Product Quality Question - General

Clarification: This is just a general workflow question regardless of hardware/software/cpu/gpu. I'm also not asking about rendering times - just how the final product looks.
Do any one of the following 3 workflow methods have any bearing on the "quality" or "look/feel" of the final output of a project.
Specific effects are named in my examples just for the heck of it - the root of my question is if any given workflow with any given effects applied affects the quality of the final export/render.
#1) Raw Clip => Apply Sharpness => Apply Levels => Apply Three-Way CC => Export final product.
#2) Raw Clip => Apply Sharpness => Export Clip => Import Clip => Apply Levels => Export Clip => Import Clip => Apply Three-Way CC => Export final product.
#3) Raw Clip (sequence 1) => Apply Sharpness => Create sequence 2 and drag sequence 1 onto it => Apply Levels to sequence 2 => Create sequence 3 and drag sequence 2 onto it => apply Three-Way CC to sequence 3 => Export sequence 3 as final product.

Jim's answer is probably based on the fact that no matter what you do to a video, exporting it will degrade the quality almost every time. But that is not only acceptable, but absolutely necessary. What video would you have that did not require some adjustments, even if just a straight cut.
In any case, I think the answer you really want is:
#1 looks normal. So that's fine.
#2 will degrade the image every time you export unless you export to a completely lossless codec like Lagarith - which creates HUGE files and is totally unnecessary. It is just a bad workflow.
#3 is technically the same as #1. It's fine. No problem. In fact, it can be quite handy sometimes to work that way. Nesting does not cause the problems that exporting does.

  • Punch out product category question

    Hi all:
We are using a punchout from Gateway. The OCI sent from the vendor does not have a product category (see below).
    "NEW_ITEM-MATGROUP[1]" value="">
We have 2 product categories assigned to the user in the Ext Attributes. While creating the SC using the catalog, the system picks up the second product category defined in Ext attributes.
How does it do it ? Is there a way it picks up the first product category ?
    -Bakulesh

    Hi Bakulesh,
Glad to hear that your problem is solved. Can I ask for a favor please? I need to understand that during punch-out, how data is brought back to SRM screens from catalog. I would be really very thankful to you, if you send me some config document or all the customization steps involved in this.
    Best Regards,
    Amit
PS: I have created one separate question for this, if you wish you can ans that so that I can assign you the points

  • ERP product roadmap

    Hi
I am looking for timeline information on the SAP ERP architecture roadmap - for eg : when R/3 4.6 C released, when was R/3 enterprise ( 4.7 ) release, when was NW 2004 released etc - going upto ERP 6.0. I do have a SAP document - slide on the 'Evolution of SAP ERP' architecture indicating this road map  but that does not give details of the time line of different ERP product releases....starting from 4.6C
Would anyone out there have the timeline information on this roadmap ?

have you tried searching on SDN ?

  • Dreamweaver 8 - Test/Production Server Question and Working Remotely

    Hello Everyone,
Right now I use Dreamweaver 8 at work with no problems. My
computer at work is also my test server. I do everything from that
one machine and then upload/put the files to our production server
once I know they are working correctly. So basically my work
computer/server is a mirror of our production server. My question
    is this:
Right now I use either Remote Administrator (Radmin) or
Remote Desktop, when working from home, to connect to my work
computer/test server (same computer). This is kind of slow trying
to move around and edit/develop. Is it possible to use Dreamweaver
8 and WebDAV or RDS to allow me to edit/create the files directly
on my work machine from home and then when I PUT the file have it
go to my production server? So basically nothing changes about how
I do it except that I am doing it remotely. Right now it downloads
the files to my computer and when I PUT them it goes only to my
test server only. I like to it to save the files to my test server
and put the files to my production server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I am just not
    setting it up correctly.

This can’t be done as RDS is about working with and
    synchronising to your server.
You may be able to set up two sites (test server and live
server) with the same local root folder depending how you are set
up but at some point you will create synchronisation issues.
My solution is to separate the two processes, all work is
done to the test server. When changes are ready to go live they are
FTP’ed from the test server to the live server using a
separate FTP program and a snap shot of the site is taken and
backed up with the FTP log. Although it seems to be adding to the
workflow it does ensure live changes are conscious changes and
backup (role back ability) is maintained.

  • Licensing CS 6 Production Premium question

    Hello all,
I've currently installed CS 6 Production Premium on two computers, which is allowed as I've red in the licensing terms.
Now I have setup a new computer and want to install Production premium on the new computer.
Is it just enough to deinstall Production Premium on one computer to be legally able and install it on the new computer?
Or do I need to deregister one of the computerinstallations on any adobe webpage before.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ed

There is a forum specifically for licensing/installation/de-installation/transfer and all such questions ... but I do believe you need to go into the "help" menu section of your current (old) machine, and de-activate that. Then in the new machine, select activate license. You need to know the license data, I think ... hope my dim memory serves you!

  • Beginner product selection question

My first post here ... I apologize if I have the wrong forum or didn't see this question in a FAQ.   I am on the verge of purchasing Premiere Pro.   My video editing needs are relatively simple as I am a consumer who just makes home/family movies and music videos with footage from a bicycle helmet cam.  Unfortunately, the video editor that I have used for the last ten years does a terrible job of rendering HD.  Since I will be taking on a learning curve I want to go with Premiere vs. another consumer level product.
An individual I know suggested the Creative Suite Production Premium bundle, but in analyzing the components my instincts tell me I don't need the suite.  I do not do still photography, web development, graphics development, or publishing.   However, I did notice the suite contains After Effects and Audition.   What I don't know is whether those two products are highly worthy for a consumer or are they really for far more advanced tasks and Premiere contains plenty of built in capability here.
Regarding audio, I do include music tracks that sometimes overlap slightly; make volume adjustments up and down during a clip, etc.  Pretty simple stuff really.   I use very few special effects in my movies, although perhaps if I knew more about them I would do more.   Color and lighting correction, slow motion, and anti-camera shake would be useful.   I'm guessing Premiere includes facitilies for these basic things, but then maybe not.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jon

Hello everyone - thank you for your help here.   Here are a few more comments back and I'm all ears if there is additional pertinent feedback.
I use a Sony HD camcorder, consumer level; a Countour+ HD bike camera; Flip Mino HD; and my wife's iPhone.  I realize I may have problems with various native formats the devices store, but hopefully not.  If so, I will find some sort of conversion workaround for various issues like the one's John noted above.
The problem I have with my current software Corel Videostudio X4 is what happens when I render a project - the video quality goes south.   I realize you lose some data any time you render something, but we are talking about another league of bad here.    I tried some other trial software products and they do not have the same issues.  So knowing I was going to switch to new software, I decided to either get Premiere or buy a Mac/FC.  Being a PC user I decided to go the Premiere route.   Just wanted to make sure I get the right product on the suite vs. premiere front.

  • ALM Roadmap questions

    Hello All,
Does anybody on the forum have knowledge of what sort of timescale there is for ALM handling Creative Suite licenses?
I have a client currently using Q***k xP***s on a pooled license. They are desperate to move to InDesign but only on the condition that they can use the concurrent licensing setup they currently enjoy with their existing setup.
If they were to purchase CS2.3 now on a volume license deal would they be able to migrate these seats to ALM in the future?
    Any input appreciated.
    Regards,
    Liam Southwood

    Liam,
Quick answers to your two questions.
Q1>>> "I have a client currently using Q***k xP***s on a pooled license. They are desperate to move to InDesign but only on the condition that they can use the concurrent licensing setup they currently enjoy with their existing setup."
A: The short answer is yes (however, if they're currently using QxP they are using QLA, which only supports Quark products).
Q2>>> "If they were to purchase CS2.3 now on a volume license deal would they be able to migrate these seats to ALM in the future?"
A: CS2.3 does not implement ALM for volume licenses. There will be important announcements regarding CS3 volume licenses and ALM in the next few days. Stay tuned.
    Regards,
    Juan-Carlos

  • Merrill Walker - Product Sales question: which Adobe software to edit PDFs?

Hi, I am trying to determine what product to purchase?  I need a product that will allow me to make changes to a PDF document.  Minor changes. I need to talk to someone please
    ?  404-518-5424.   Merrill Walker

This is a user-to-user forum, and it's public. Posting your phone number is unlikely to produce a welcome result.
As for your question; Acrobat facilitates minor changes, but PDF is a deployment format that isn't designed or intended to be edited.
If your need is to edit documents at the PDF level rather than within the originating application, your workflow is already ill-fated.
