First some (ir)relevant history: I got a 2TB timecapsule to backup my mac mini (late 2011) and act as a router. The TC is connected to the cable modem, the three wired connections are the mac mini, XP, and a Linksys PAP2T. The mac mini and windows boxen are connected wirelessly as well, over the (non-guest) network. All (of these) ip addresses are assigned via DHCP reservations, which is working well (after restarting ther TC countless times). The USB port is an HP P1006.
The printer worked right away from the mac. For xp, Bonjour Printer Wizard had to be uninstalled and reinstalled, for the detected printer to work. (That is, it detected it right away, but it would not work, the item would go in the queue and stop there.) The Airport utility does not find the TC during a scan, but after change the name to 8 characters (TCapsule), File->Configure Other... can get to it via ip.
Time Machine is backing up the mac mini onto the time capsule. That works well, and Time Machine is pretty cool. But i would also like to backup xp. How can i do that? The more automated the better. I'm even tempted to just backup the xp box to the mac mini, and have Time Machine do it from there. Not that i know how to do the first step.

Well don't backup to the mini.. that is just a waste.. whether it is a good idea to backup to the TC only time will tell.
The TC will treat windows backup as data.. it is better if you create a virtual disk on the TC of some sort and set to a max size.. it cannot be partitioned.

Certainly it would be a good idea to either set a fixed max size to the sparsebundle which pondini describes.. or use a USB drive for the xp backups.
Anyway you simply get a windows backup software that talks network.. everybody can manage it except home version windows.. althought the standard windows backup is not worth considering anyway..
Just buy a package .. Genie time line is a PC like copy of TM.. I think there is a low cost version.. have never tried it.
I do use macrium reflect which is free to download and use for disk backup.. to do incremental backups you have to pay for it.
It has excellent recovery.. which is one of the most important aspects of any backup software.. can it recover.

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

Oh nice, there's a PassKeeper application for the iPhone and iPad. Simply install it and it should talk you through steps, otherwise their website is probably a great place to check.

Your description of the problem is not quite clear so I made certain assumptions. I hope I am rigtht. I believe you have a color patch such as this:
that you would like to place in an image area that has modeling in its white background. You do not want to lay in a flat color but rather to add a color and not lose the modeling or other background tone. The problem is, after making the selection, if you use Edit > Fill and set the Blending mode to Color, the white background remains white. The only colored background area may be an object's shadow or some similar area that is not pure white. (Image 2) It is an unsatisfactory result.
If that is an accurate description of the problem, consider this:
Image 1: The original image
Image 2: Edit > Fill with the Blending mode set to Color. White remains white
Image 3: Mode changed to Lab Color. Edit > Fill with the Blending Mode set to Color. Then return to RGB.
(I would not normally use this green as a replacement color but since it is a Tiffany clock, I chose a light version of Tiffany's trademark color.)

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    1.    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    2.    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    3.    Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    4.    Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
    5.    Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

If you are running Windows and it stops on the first stage of a sync then my suggestion is to uninstall AppleDeviceSupport version 2.0.1 and re-install 1.5.2.

Those instructions are to fix a different problem, but it fixes the problem with syncing devices stopping on the first stage (backing up the device) too. The AppleDeviceSupport 2.0.1 comes with Quicktime 7.7 and, I believe, the latest Safari version.
I'm running XP, so used the Everything search program (http://www.voidtools.com/download.php) to find the directories with the AppleDeviceSupport installers (they have the extension .msi and the version in the directory name) and right-mouse-buttoned them to do the uninstall and install. Note you need a reboot afterwards. (Actually I just sorted out the service in the Service Manager, but that's a longer explaination and a reboot works fine).

If you go into time machine preferences and click options it will show a list of any folders or hard drives that will not be backed up. Any other files/folders will be backed up so long as they are plugged in and mounted fully when Time Machine is "Preparing"

It happens sometimes. Delete the current copies, don't hide from iTunes in the cloud if prompted, close iTunes, reopen, download from iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
While downloading click the download icon at the top right and uncheck Enable simultaneous downloads. You may find it more reliable that way.

PSE did what you told it to do. Choose the Straighten and crop edges or fill edges options when you use the straighten tool if you want it to do more than just straighten the contents of the image. Many people prefer the plain straighten because they'd rather crop themselves than let PSE do it.

You can copy the app to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the phone to it and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases - an actual backup (either on your computer's iTunes or to the cloud) doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content and settings, for a restore to work the app needs to be either in your computer's iTunes library (for and iTunes backup/restore) or still in the store (for an iCloud backup/restore). Or you could just sync the app from your computer's iTunes (which will only install the app, not any previous content)

Apple states that it maintains up three of your most recent backups. This should mean that if you back up, you would still have the option to revert to one of your earlier backups. Unfortunately, the only way to know if earlier backups exist is to attempt to restore an iCloud backup and see which ones are shown as being available.

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
