Environment is a new install of Windows 7 x64 on a new Dell workstation in an Active Directory environment. Until fall of last year, we used redirected folders for the Application Data folders until issues with Adobe Reader 9.x forced us to abandon that and we reconfigured our network not to use redirected folders. We have not experienced any issues and all programs are using the Application Data folder on the local machines.
Just installed Adobe Master Collection on a new workstation and all Adobe applications are using the C:\Users\cballew\AppData\Roaming\Adobe folder including Flash Catalyst. However, when I try to Run Project in Catalyst, it created a folder named Application Data using the network path to where we used to store the Application Data folder and is saving its workspace there. No other programs (including Adobe products) are doing this. Any ideads of how to fix it?

Unable to run project

Catalyst posts an error dialog, and if I choose to build and run anyway, I get:
Unable to run the project
File not found: file:/Users/stevelombardi/Library/Application%20Support/Adobe/Flash%20Catalyst/workspace/ step_design/bin-debug/Main.html
Any ideas? I Went through a lot of work and now can't run the project. I'm hoping it's something simple...

Thanks for noting the errors you found in code view. The 'marginBottom' error was caused by a "space after" setting in the comp you imported from Illustrator. In Beta 1 marginBottom is an unsupported RichText attribute – as are marginRight, marginLeft, and marginTop. Support for these will be present for the 1.0 release and should be available in a later Beta.
If you deleted the instances of text from the artboard and replaced them with Catalyst text, the original instances may still exist in the project (which could explain why you can't run, but don't see errors in code view). Try using the Layers panel to find the original text layers and delete them using the trash can there. Let me know if this works (or feel free to post the FXP file and I'll check it out).
Otherwise, the best way to keep from getting these errors at runtime is to go back to your design comp in Illustrator and remove the space after values you have associated with the text. Or, in this case you could select the original text layers and choose Edit in Illustrator – then remove the space after value that way.

Unable to run project on upgrading to azure sdk 2.3 while using cache

We upgraded azure sdk from 1.8 to 2.3 and we are unable to run our project.
following is the error.
Attempt by method 'Microsoft.Web.DistributedCache.DataCacheFactoryWrapper.CreateDataCacheFactoryConfiguration(System.String)' to access method 'Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.DataCacheFactoryConfiguration..ctor(System.String)' failed.
However if we comment out the following lines of code in web.config we are able to run the project.

Project canceled or unable to run project ....cpd

Hi,
Since this morning, when I try to open my project (RH 7 Html)
I've the message "Opening project has been canceled or application
is not able to open project d:\........... . cpd
If I reboot Xp, I also loose my connection to RoboSource
control 3.1, and must recreate it.
With 2 others pc, it continues to work fine

Good morning, and welcome to the forums.
Sounds like you just have to rebuild the .cpd file. This is a
relatively easy and safe thing to do, but as in all troubleshooting
exercises, I would heartily recommend that you back up your project
first.
Then, in Windows Explorer, rename the <project>.cpd
file in your project directory. I typically rename mine from
accounting.cpd to accounting.BAD (my project file is called
ACCOUNTING.)
You could delete it too, but that's just a personal
preference.
Then, double click on the project .XPJ file to open the
project in RoboHelp. It may take several minutes before you can do
anything in there, but let the program work without interference -
it is reindexing / rebuilding the Access database that acts sort of
like a traffic cop behind the scenes - the .CPD file.

Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me.
I am using AE CC/Windows 7 on a Dell computer, 32 GB RAM, 64 bit op system, processors: Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU x5670 @ 2.93 Ghz 2.93 Ghz (2 processors).
So far I had worked on many projects with no problems and then a few weeks ago the project crashed non stop. The problem was overcome when I got rid of all MP3s and converted them to RAM. Again this was an issue I didn't have in the past and I don't recall changing anything.
Now it seems it is impossible for me to export/render out a project into a Quick time file or even AVI. If its quick time I get this message: After Effects unable to render error an output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted -1610153464 and if I am trying to export with AVI I get this message: AE unable to open projects in the background 26:: 142)
This is happening with different projects.
I read the forums and heard that the problem may be a Bug with quicktime and H.264? I never had a problem with it before but again when I try to export AVI I get this error message:

I have a feeling it is quick time related. I have uninstalled and reinstalled QT but still get the problem. It will open old QT files no problem. I tried to download a bug fix update as one post suggested but I think I have the latest which is why it didn't work.
This particular project has a couple of quick media H.264 files. Do I need to convert them? Are they the cause for all of this?
I am sorry I really tried to look for answers in the forums before contacting you here but I cannot find a reason for all this mess, which again only appeared a few weeks ago with no problems for months...if someone can point out an area where I can start looking, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

update: I converted all the H.264 footage which were in the project to WMV. And I was able to test export with AVI and it turne dout fine (like 10 seconds). However I still got the Error message: "After Effects unable to render error an output module failed, a filme may be corrupted or damaged. Error-1610153464 " when I tried to export H.264 QT..
I don't know what to do now, how can a problem which did not exist suddenly come up. How can I export a QT file? with AVI it will be massive!

Magic GarageBand unable to "Create Project" -- Missing .caf files

I bought the new iMac on August 7th which came preinstalled with iLife 08.
The rest of garageband works fine, to my knowledge, but the Magic garageband feature does not. I can "Audition" a song and choose all the instruments just fine, but when i click "Creat Project" i receive multiple warnings about it being unable to locate .caf files for each instrument. I end up clicking continue on each warning until i'm finally presented with the main multitrack view in garageband. There are tracks for each instrument, but unfortunately no musical data...so it appears as though the files which contain the tracks of each instrument are for whatever reason missing.
So the first thing i thought was that garageband wasn't installed correctly from the factory, so i reinstalled it using the included disks that came with my imac. the installation completed successfully and i went to run magic garageband again, but the error messages still come up.
Any ideas?

I think I am running into the same problem with a different setup. My students log in to the computer using a network account so their files are saved to a server in my office and not to the machine that is hosting Garageband. I think this approximates the situation that khkremer is talking about and my students have the same problem, not just with Magic Garageband but with voice tracks in a podcast. They just disappear. We've been recording the voice tracks in another sound editing program and re-insert them every period they work on their podcasts. It's a pain and I agree, a bug. Let's hope they fix this problem or I think I will have to stop using the program.

I checked the home directory with the command "set home". The result is:
HOMEDRIVE=C:
HOMEPATH=\Users\ndgnc
I checked also "set app" and "set user" and both results show that the results are all local. I have no idea how Flash Catalyst gets the network information. Also when i try to extract the downloaded data, the standard path suggested is:
\\corp-comp\comp\Userhome_w7\ndgnc\Desktop\Adobe Flash Catalyst
I also searched the register keys and couldn't find any reference to Userhome_w7\ndgnc\Application Data
I have absolutely no idea how FC gets the UNC path and copies the workspaces in that folder.
I have no more ideas. I would be happy to any solution.

'Run Project' opens HTML in BBEdit

I downloaded and installed the Catalyst Beta to a Mac running 10.5.7
Working along with the first lynda.com tutorial, and "Run Project" kicks off BBEdit and opens an html doc which seems to exist in FlashCatalyst/workspace/Untitled_1/bin-debug/Main.html
BBEdit is my preferred editing package.Can't get the "Project" to "Run"
I have no problem with Flash CS4, and believe I'm current with all players

can you temporarily set .html files to open by default in your browseer of choice rahter than an HTML editor? does this fix the problem for you?

Unable to run struts project from jdeveloper 10.1.3

I have created a struts-based application project using jdeveloper 10.1.3(build JDEVADF_10.1.3.1.0_NT..) by importing an ear file .The project seems to be built fine as i get no errors in compiling the entire project.I have included the Struts runtime library as well in the project.
But when i try to run the login.jsp from the struts-config.xml,i get the :

2. Design a Test PG and test it first.
3. Your OAF patch level: is 12.0.4 ? Are you running with r12?

I am unable to run ADF Project on Weblogic Server 9.2. I am created Sample Project with ADF Control. This was when we create jsp at that time i am selected libraries ADF. After created war file. This war i am deploying into Server. At that time i am getting error java.lang.noclassfound error.
so please tell me how we can run these application.

Hard to help you here. JDev 10 used to work with OAS 10g as application server. This does not mean that you can't use Weblogic9.2, but because it is not the default configuration you may have some problems doing this.
One problem is that you need to install the ADF runtime libraries in the WLS 9.2 server, but there is no installer I know of. You can try to deploy the needed libraries together with your app, but you have to figure out which libraries you need.
Next thing is that you should deploy an EAR instead of a WAR.

Same proble here, although the Firefox system requirements says it is OK to have PowerPC G3 G4 or G5 ( I have G5 2GHZ)
My solution; very simply use timemachine to restore the previous Frefox 3.x

Thanks so much! I am backing up the entire computer now with an external hard drive - this should be fine right? And surely if I am backing up the whole computer these projects/videos will be backed up too? I wasn't sure how to do this any other way and I am clearly not great with tech issues. Unable to run a problem do to missing JRE

HELP!!!!
First I'm still learning when it comes to this computer and I've spent 5 hours working on this JRE thing.
When I went to load my childs spelling list onto her Turbo Twist made by Leap Frog, instead of an opening screen I had the pleasure of reading the following:
"Unable to launch application, missing JRE, please reboot and try again".
The Turbo Twist worked just fine in June, but we have been fighting the Trojan virus chains thanks to the
internet. Yes we plan to reformat, just need a 2nd hard drive 1st. HOW!!! can this JRE just turn up missing.
Anyways, Dell directed me to www.java.com for the JRE download. Tried both the automatic and the manual downloads neither will install. Here is that message..
This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access
it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
Please someone... anyone in a language I can understand HELP me get this JRE program back into my computer before my kid kills me or my fist goes thru this screen.

No promises that this'll work - obviously the computer has a "problem" - but you can download the JRE package as a compressed file, save it to your computer, then click on it in Windows Explorer to try to install it. Here's how:
Go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
Under the 3rd blue header J2SE v 1.4.2_05 JRE includes the JVM technology
click on Download J2SE JRE **** You want the JRE, not the SDK which is just above the JRE****

Read the license, if desired. Click "Accept" and "Continue".

It will start a large download; save it to a folder - remember the file's name and location.
When the download finishes, navigate to the saved download file and click it, this will start the installation.
When the installation is finished, the file that was downloaded can be deleted if you wish.
