Alter leading of a range of text in a title?

I thought you were supposed to be able to do this.
How do you alter the leading of just two lines of text within a title text box without affecting the leading of all the other lines of text within the text box?
I can alter the kerning of a few lines of text w/o affecting the other lines of text, but I can't to this with leading.
Is this a bug? Is this not a feature? Am I doing something wrong?
I select a couple of lines of text and then adjust the leading by changing the leading number. By doing this, however, the leading of the entire text box changes.

So if I wanted to create 200 lines of rolling titles, I'd just create a super-long PSD file?
You are correct on creating a very vertical .PSD with your text. Let's just assume that you have an NTSC DV Project. In PS, choose Image New, and then the NTSC DV Preset (either 4:3, or 16:9) with guides. This will yield a 720 x 480 image. Reset your PS Colors to B/W. Go to Image>Canvas and move the marker to the top-center, then increase the vertical to no more than 4000 pixels and choose the black (should be "Background Color") Add/edit your text, as is required. I usually do the text in Word, or WordPerfect, just for SpellCheck, and Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V that into PS. If you have more pixels in the vertical, than you need, just Crop. Save_As a .PSD, to be Imported into PrPro as Footage, unless you have Layers, that you wish to animate independently - then choose Sequence. Once into the Project Panel, drag to the Timeline, and Keyframe Effect>Motion>Position. Done.
I would like to see Titler grow a bit more robust too, but live fine with it, so long as I have my other Adobe (and some non-Adobe) programs handy. To me, each is just a "tool" in the "toolbox." I have requested full Grouping, SpellCheck and more typography tools. OTOH, if any of these munged up Titler, I would resend my requests in a heartbeat. I look at Titler a bit like I do NotePad - OK for simple stuff, but for wordprocessing I go go WordPerfect. Just another tool.

Unable to alter leading is weird

I am unable to alter leading in any text in a document. I have trashed preferences and checked all settings. I can not adjust leading downwards but when I try above 12ponit it will adjust upwards. The weird thing is it works okay on the pasteboard.

I have solved it! I had align to grid set to 'all lines' in Para style.

Adobe Acrobat 9/Win7 - Inserting Word documents into PDF file intermittently leads to missing or garbled text?

Heya.
I have a user who is creating a PDF essentially compiled from inserting word documents into the position she wants inside of the PDF.
The problem is that sometimes this leads to missing or garbled text. For example, 6-8.1 is displayed as 6- .1. Which is just plain weird.
Other times, the text looks garbled or uneven. She turned off her PC but I took screenshots of both of these scenarios. I fear that I am not going to be able to retroactively fix the corruption in this document for her.
She says she's using very standard fonts. Like Arial. I asked if she could locate the original Word document that produced the garbled text, just for a sanity check. The problem is that her co-worker may have been the only one with that particular word document (there are probably hundreds which compile this PDF...) and IF she has it, she might not be able to locate it on her PC TO check what the original text is. Yikes.
Google-fu turns up very little. I tried the guidance in this document - https://answers.acrobatusers.com/We-combine-PDF-document-ends-corrupt-What-problem-q197619 .aspx[2] and a Save-As but no avail.

She states that she can manually fix the document but after a while it gets corrupted again? But I haven't observed that and she might have just fed me that to amplify the problem.

Edit: A LITTLE MORE INFO. I am able to select the corrupted text, paste it into Notepad with all the characters intact. So the characters are THERE. they are just not being displayed correctly.
Edit: They also do not print correctly. The page prints with characters missing, and she wants to print this document, so that is going to be an issue.

Background:
Currently I have to use two different text fields to display 10000 due to the different font sizes.
The 10 is a larger font and the 000 is a smaller font. When I assign '0 'to the dynamic text fields of the smaller font I get just that a '0' not a '000' which is what I want.
Question:
Is there an easy way to display leading zeros in a dynamic text field? Or can a dynamic text field have different character positions displayed in different font sizes? or both?

Are for saying the best way to display numerically calculated numbers that need leading zeros and or different font sizes is to convert them to a string for display purposes with textFormatting??

The white line over the text in a title

how can I enlarge the white line over the text in a title to not have the text out of the frame when I want to add another line?

If you are speaking of the white bar upon which you are entering text in say a 'gradient edge' title, click title in the inspector window having the title selected. There you can change the width of the horizontal bar:
In the screenshot above I have used gradient edge title. The bar is of black color and you can change the color to white or any other color by tinkering with the controls in the inspector window [red oval]; you can also increase or decrease with the bar's width by changing its parameters within the 'yellow rectangle'; and, if you so need, you can push up or push down the bar by manipulating the bar vertical position tool located below the yellow rectangle.

but the text in the title bars (where I click to flip the accordion
pages) is coming up bold when I want it normal. How do I change

If you are using Windows, you do it through the Control Panel tool for customizing your desktop display. If you are using some other system, I don't know. You can't do it from your Java program.

Can i amend the background text in a title?

i would like a red background behind my white text for a title.
The animation is so that the text and background appear from the left
I have been unable to find a background colour setting
Any help on this would be great -
i have tried to build a custom one in Motion which works ok, but thought it might be already possible in FCP X

Can't Edit text in custom Title made from Motion 5

I make a Title in Motion 5 and save it to my Titles in FCPX.
When i bring it into FCPX, i go to change the text in it, but it won't let me. it doesn't give me the option.
I'm making a custom lower 3rd where all i want to do is change the text on the Title, and I use to be able to do this.
Now all of a sudden when I create a Title in Motion 5 and send it to FCPX, it wont' let me edit the text in the Title.
I have 'Editable in FCPX' option selected in Motion as well. what am i doing wrong?

You are supposed to "Publish" each item that you want to be editable in FCP X.
In Motion, open the inspector for each text element. Locate the text, click the little triangle at the top left and select "Publish". Make sure to also publish any other parameters that want to be able to change (like "Basic Formatting").

Change the color of text in the title bar

Using Smart Build with Text of a Title

I’m brand new to Keynote. I have successfully put in text for a title where the words of the title are in separate text boxes and move into a straight mid line. I tried to put a smart build of a sunrise in the background, but for some reason I could only have success seeing the text if I limited the sunrise to one pictures with the text moving onto the screen and aligning one at a time.
Any suggestions?

1. Create your titles with build in/out and move action build(s).
2. Click the Smart Build.
3. In the Build Inspector, click the "More Options" button and it will reveal a drawer.
4. Click on the 1st line in the drawer.
5. Click the "Set separate timings for elements".
Now you can reorder the animations so the text builds in, moves and out between stages of the Smart Build. There are options at the bottom of the drawer if you want stuff to happen on a click, with or after.

How do I change the text in my titles?

I'm new to FCP X and was wondering if anyone could help direct me....
I am able to change only some of the text in the titles I use but others ...I can't seem to change the text (there's no text box available) ....it's really very fustrating... is there another way around this?

Hi Tom, have the same problem but nothing works so far. I have lion mountain and FCPX.
I can not find any text box when using the title templates. Can not change them.
I tried double click in the viewer box. No success.
I tried in the info window, in the tab tex. No success because no text box available
I tried transformation, that I can move the text box which appear in the viewer but can not change the text
The only thing which working is: When I press Control T the basic Text will be included in the clip and there I can change the text. Why this? I do not know.
Can you help me?

Remove "Home" text in page title

Anyone know how to remove the "Home" text in the page title's breadcrumb?
I've tried .s4-title h2{display:none}, which doesn't remove it. But, actually, I see the "Home" text in both the "h1" and the "h2" tags.

If you are only wanting to remove it from a single page you can add a "Content Editor Web Part" to the page. Then change the Layout properties of the Content Editor Web Part to hidden.
Using the Source Editor for that webpart you can paste the following code:

This will hide that entire area. If you still would like to have the search bar available you will want to paste in this instead:

Styling Ranges of text

Hi,
I'm having problem with the TextArea- and/or
RichText-controls in Flex. I can't find any way to change the
background color or individual lines or characters in the control.
I've tried to apply styles to tags in the htmlText-property. But no
luck there.
Is it even possible to do this in Flex3?
Edit: What I'm trying to accomplish with this, is a kind of
ANSI-Graphics editor/viewer.

Was this feature ever added? If not - how can I make the code work posted in reply to that post? Just hiding the lines would be a good alternative, I think. I tried adding the code to my existing PDF but it doesn't appear to do anything, the lines are still visible when you type into the field.

No, leading control has not been added and it probably never will be.
