Alternate Download for PSE 11?

The Adobe Download Assistant will not allow me to log in with my Adobe ID, repeatedly returning the message "An error has occurred.  Please try again."
Yes, I've typed it properly.  No, I haven't forgotten my password.  No, nothing's wrong with my Windows installation.  Yes, I've tried to run it in various compatibility modes.
I hate this "download assistant" concept - like I can't figure out how to download a file (however large) myself.  And here we see how well it works.  Adobe needs to provide an obvious alternative download method, because stupid problems like this will lose them sales!
So... Does anyone know an alternate download link/method for getting the trial package for Photoshop Elements 11?
Thanks.
-Noel

Heh, it didn't occur to me to check to see if ProDesignTools already had it linked.  Thanks, R_Kelly.
SSprengel, you're probably right - it's likely server overload.  But you'd think maybe they could have been just a *little* more descriptive with the error message.  Even a sage computer guy like me sees "An error has occurred. Please try again." as containing no usable information.
Imagine if it had just said, "The server did not respond in the time given; it may be overloaded.  Please try again in a little while."

Edit:  For some reason I always get PECourtejoie and SSprengel mixed up.  Sorry guys.

  • Can I burn PSE 12 download for off line install?

If I buy the PSE 12 upgrade download from Adobe, does the download include all of the files that I need to burn to a DVD so I can do an off-line installation on another computer? I am concerned that the download will just be an installer that requires an Internet connection to perform the installation. Thanks.

Obviously I did not make myself clear. Sorry. I have PSE 11 installed and I have an Adobe Id. I assume that when I download the PSE 12 update I will get a new license key. If I have the installation files on a DVD or hard drive and I need to install without an Internet connection I should be able to do so and run in trial mode until I get connected. I do understand that if I have to reinstall on a different machine I will have to have an Internet connection to register the new machine.
Normally I would wait until early December when Costco has the boxed product. They always have a better price than any altenative I have found. Unfortunately, because I have a new Canon 70D and only PSE 12 supports the 70D I would like to get it now. I can use the DNG converter to edit images, however, there is no way to get the Canon 70D RAW files into the Organizer and that will become a larger and larger problem that I will have to fix when I finally do get PSE 12. Thanks to both yourself and John for your help.

  • Need Alternate Download Link for iTunes

    Greetings,
I have a frustrating dilemma that I am hoping to find assistance for. I offer computer support to a small rural community. Most of the people here are elderly and using dial-up access or a very slow DSL service.
Here is my frustration - my computer is Linux, my Mac is an older very slow G3 that mostly sits in the corner. I would love to use my Linux computer to download all of the Apple/Mac updates for my clients but the latest versions of iTunes and Safari are inaccessible because the Apple link will not let me access downloads for Mac (for some inexplicable reason it thinks that I am on a Windows computer).
So where can I find a legitimate download link for the latest versions of iTunes and Safari?
This morning I've downloaded almost 1GB of updates for clients I will be seeing over the next few days but I won't be able to update either iTunes or Safari.
    Any assistance is much appreciated.

    Hi, Gail,
I see you found and answer.
For the future, though, even if your browser is being registered as being on Windows (probably happening since Apple doesn't have an iTunes for Linux), you should still be able to download iTunes for Mac. When you get to the Windows iTunes download page, scroll down and look down the left-hand side of the page. You should see a link that says "Get iTunes for Macintosh". Click that and you should be taken to the iTunes for Mac download page where you can download the Mac installer. It works from my Windows system, anyway.
As to Safari, you should be able to get the latest versions here:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/Safari3_2_1_forLeopard
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/Safari3_2_1_forTiger
For other versions, click on the Support tab above, go to Support Downloads, and search for "Safari".
    Regards.

  • Camera RAW 5.6 Update - OK for PSE 7.0?

    Is the
Camera RAW 5.6 update suitable for Elements, specifically say PSE 7.0 onwards?

Indeed it is different. But it appears to work fine in PSE 8.
The method I used below is for a manual install of ACR 5.6 for PSE 8 running on 64-bit system.
If you are running on a 32-bit system and/or are using PSE 7, it will probably be  a bit different.
1 After unzipping the ACR 5.6 download file, navigate to the
\Adobe Camera Raw 5.6\extensions\AdobeCameraRaw5.0All-xxxxxxxxxx\Assets” folder (ie, the top folder, not the x64 folder)
    2. Copy the 1003 file to a new folder and rename it “Camera Raw.8bi”
    3. Navigate to the “Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 8\File Formats” folder. Move the Camera Raw.8bi file to another folder for safe keeping.
    4. Move the file you created in step 2 into the folder listed in step 3.
    5. Return to the ACR 5.6 folder and navigate to the \Adobe Camera Raw 5.6\extensions\AdobeCameraRaw5.0All-x64-xxxxxxxxxx\Assets” folder.
    6. Copy the 1003 file to another new folder and rename it “Camera Raw.8bi”
    7. Navigate to the “Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 8.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats” folder. If there exists a Camera Raw.8bi file, save/move it as in step 3 above.
    8. Move the file you created in step 6 into the folder listed in step 7.
When you open a .cr2 file in PSE 8, you will be greeted with a notice stating that you are using a beta version of ACR.
Nothing like a straight forward install  :-)

  • Psedbtool, a utility for PSE 6 and 7 catalogs

Ive created a free utility, psedbtool, for use with Adobe Photoshop Elements (PSE) 6.0 and 7.0 (Windows only). With psedbtool you can:
    - Detect problems with the locations of files recorded in PSEs catalog.
    - Extract the catalog contents into text files readable by Excel and other tools.
    - Write the metadata of cataloged photos and files more reliably than with PSE.
This helps you maintain your PSE catalog, work around PSE bugs, use third-party tools with your catalog, and migrate your files and metadata into other programs.
To download psedbtool, go to http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/.
This is the first version, so Im sure there are bugs and misfeatures. Please email bugs, suggestions, and feedback (click on my name above for my address).

I'm afraid I won't be doing a version for PSE 5 :-( The internal database schema for versions 5 and earlier is completely different. It's also a lot easier to poke in the version 5 database using Microsoft Access.

  • Start up for PSE 8

I have inserted the disc and after some time of working and reading, my

I try to run the disc and it says there is no disc?

it meets the specs but i think we will purchase a laptop and have the software loaded to that device as i don't see any way to add it to my main computer other than downloading it.  Thanks for your help.

Not that it is too old, exactly, but it sounds like you don't have a dvd reading drive (almost all computers made in the past several years have a drive that can read dvds, whether or not it can write to them). You will need to find another way to do this. Are you sure your computer meets the specs otherwise?

    [/Subtype /Figure /Alt (Image of Figure 2-1) /StPNE pdfmark
    [/_objdef {layoutObj} /type /dict /OBJ pdfmark
    [{layoutObj} <</O /Layout /Height 70 /Width 140 /BBox [90 290 250 360]
    [/Obj {layoutObj} /StAttr pdfmark
    [/StBMC pdfmark
    Please share me your comments
    Regards,
    Jayakrishnan

I wouldn't swear to this, but I think what's happening is the effect is essentially treated as a separate image during export, but as far as I know you have no way to select it to add the alt text or anything else. I don't really do this kind of work, so I could be way off base here.
A newer version of ID might behave better, so you may want to consider downloading the trial for CS4

  • Plug ins for pse 11

HELLO: I'm trying to install a plug in for pse 11, and trying to secure one for making
kaleidescopes. My W7 computer keeps saying i need to have WINZIP, i thought it
had that, but wants me to download WINZIP (and pay their price). WINZIP is "SUPPOSEDLY"
to be a free thing w/ WINDOWS. I think i wld have to make a new folder for KALEIDESCOPES,
and then install that to the plug ins...I THINK!
ONCE BEFORE I ASKED A SIMILIAR QUESTION; read the response and only little bit of info
i was able to do on pse 11, but i quess i didnt understand the response correctly, and i failed
on doing the correct thing. HERE I AM AGAIN with MUCH NEEDED HELP.
    THANKS,

I don't have anything to add to my original reply - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1433512. Which bit didn't you understand? And no, you don't need a folder for kaleidoscopes - you just put it in the filters folder as I originally told you.
    And here's a kaleidoscoped sunflower

  • Where can I find Premiere Elements 10 internet download for mac?

I just got a MacBook Pro and want to install my copy of Premiere Elements 10 on it but the disc doesn't work. On my iMac last year, an Adobe tech told me that there were problems with the install disc and told me to download from the internet and then put my serial number in. That worked.
But now when I go to the internet, all Adobe has listed is version 11. I don't want to upgrade and pay more money as version 10 will work fine for the project I need to do. How can I get the proper download for version 10--the version that I paid for last year?
    Thanks for any help.

    Try http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first otherwise the download links will not work.
Adobe only ever hosts the current version of their software on their website.
Once you've successfully downloaded and installed from the above link, backup the downloaded file. There's no guarantee that those download links will be up next time you need them.

  • How do i re install premiere elements 11, i can only find the download for 12.

I would like to install premiere elements 11 onto a different computer but can't find the download. I can only find 12

    AlaskaBreeCharlie
Did you purchased Premiere Elements 11 from an Adobe download? If so, did you double check http://www.adobe.com Welcome AlaskaBreeCharlie/My Orders and My Products for the download? Or, did you have an installation disc instead?
Depending on the circumstances, you could contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat to inquire about getting additional Premiere Elements 11 download
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=orders-refunds-and-exc hanges
Click on the above link. When it opens, click on the statement "I still need help" to bring up the Adobe Chat to discuss
    "Orders, Refunds, and Exchanges".
Also, you might consider downloading the Premiere Elements 11 tryout from the following web site and inserting your purchased Premiere Elements 11 serial number in it.
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
It is important that you read carefully the Note: Very Important Instructions message at the web site. Otherwise, you will run into Access Denied message.
Please review and let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.
