Alternate Sequence operation confirmation ...
hi folks ,
i have 3 operation in STD seq like 10, 20, 30
and for the std sequence thr is alternate seq. which contain alternate operation for
20 th operation of STD.
FOR operation 20 now :
In STD seq only one activity Machine time required for 1 item to process is 10 min.
In ALT seq only one activity Machine time required for 1 item to process is 5 min.
when i am confirming the 20 operation in CO11 the time required for the opr 20in ALT seq opr. 20 is not appering on the QTY / YIELD .
regards
Hi,
You can cross-check in the production order, operation overview whether the operation 20 is that of the alternative sequence. If not when you create the production order the sytem will inform that alt. seq exist. Here you have to choose the alt.seq.
Also check the settings in the confirmation parameters (opk4).
Propose qty/standard value is to be selected.

Confirmation in alternate sequence
Hi
System proposes wrong qty to confirm after alternate sequence confirmation.
op 10 - 10 ea
op20 - 5 ea op11 - 5 ea(parallel)
op30 - 10ea
In confirmation, after i confirm op10 for 10 ea, i confirm
Case A: op20 - 4 ea (Final confirmation), op11 - 3ea (Partial)
system proposal for op30 is 8ea
Case B: op20 - 4 ea (Partial), op11 - 3ea(Partial)
System proposal for op30 is 6ea
why it is not proposing 7 ea for op30.Dear,
In OPK4 check the following
Operation sequence = Operation sequence not checked....then do confirmation it will work as required by you. -
Confirmation of parallel sequence operation.
Hello friends,
I want to do confirmation of parallel sequence operation. I use 3 or5 work centers at a time for doing one operation. So i have defined parallel sequences for standard sequence. When I do confirmation of quantity and activity time in CO11N for one parallel sequence, other sequence quantity and activity time should be decreased. But system takes actual quantity and time.
How to make settings , so that quantity and activity values should be decreased automatically for next parallel sequence.
Waiting for Reply!Dear ,
You are not able get the paralle sequence operation in CO11N because production order will copy the Routing based on the Order Type dependent paramter-OPL8-Routing set up.
Here , basically , you might have chkeced Alternative Sequence and Sequence Exchange field (0) , so while creation production order , routing with operation which are in alternative sequnce will be copied and will be used in CO11N confirmation.
2.You need to maintain "Operation Sequence is not checked " for operation sequence for the Ordertype/Plant combination in confirmation parameters using transaction OPK4.-Confirmation parameters of Order
Try and revert back

Alternative sequence - operations number
Hi all,
I've got an issue on the alternative sequence.
The standard sequence is made by operation 10, 20 and 30.
I try to add a new alternative sequence to substitute the operation 20 with 2 different operations: 20 and 25.
The system give me an error on the routing: CP331 - Operation: date 28.04.2010: operation number incorrect.
I tried the option to change the standard sequence to 10, 20 and 40, but the error is the same. The system checks the return operation (20) and is not possible to add operations into the alternative sequence with operations number greater than return operation.
It seems that is not possible to substitute 1 operation with 2 operations.
Anyone has solved?
Thanks, regards.Hi ,
Okay, you want to create an alternaive sequence only.
Standard sequence is 10 20 30
Alternate Sequence:
1.Branch operation : 10
Number of the operation from which an alternative sequence is to replace the reference sequence.
2. Return operation: 30
(number of the operation up to which an alternative sequence is to replace the reference sequence)
Operations: 20, 25
This should work.
Please check and confirm.

Alternate Sequences in Routing?
Dear Guru's,
In our production process some of the operation we will perform externally by sending it to vendor. For this we are maintaining the alternate sequences in routing. So, when ever we want send the material to vendor to perform the external operation will exchange the sequence in routing.
So, in some cases we have to do it in mass. I hope is there any t-code or any other way to do it.
Need valuable inputs please.
Thanks & Regards,

Edited by: madhu333mac on Feb 13, 2012 9:14 PMDear Madhu,
Is it only a manual decision whether to process the operations in-house or else to be sent to the external party or is it based on
the lot size say if the order quantity is for more than 100 it's to be given to the external party means then define a lot size for
the alternative sequence for a lot size rangining from 101 to 9999999(For example).
In this case during order creation the system copies the alternative sequences automatically.
Check whether this works out for your requirement or not.

Segregate the scrap as an operation wise during operation confirmation
Hello PP Gurus,
One FERT item's BOM contains 4 HALB items in which 3 are mentioned as an negative qty, ( it may be reusable scrap using in production again), and having 5 operation sequence. The problem is while confirming first operation itself the whole scarp value is generated for those 3 HALB items which are mentioned as an negative value. I want to segregate the scarp value for each and every operation or at least any of operation by qty wise or percentage wise. Is it possible to maintain it in system? and also is it possible to control by order type wise?
Is there any setting to do meet this requirement?
No manual material issue , during confirmation material are issued/generated by using back flush.
ThanksHello Mr.Devendra,
Thanks for your reply. I want to do an settings for component allocation by operation wise while during the production operation confirmation. Is there any option or SAP User exit and enhancements?
For example, a FERT 'A' having as an sub assembly 'B','C','D' and having 5 operations(10,20,30,40,50)in Routing. In these 'B' mentioned as an positive qty and the remaining 'C','D' are mentioned as an negative qty. while doing confirmation components are allocated for first operation(10) itself. i want to allocate the component for operation wise. In my case, while confirming operation 20 only part of 'B','C','D' will be allocated and the same for segregate to operation 30,40. How can we handle this situation is there any option?

Inspection RR should be allowed for the operation confirmed qty only
Hi Friends
I have one requirement , Inspection results recording should be allowed for the operation confirmed qty only
i.e
1. Release Production Order for 100 qty
2. Inspection Lot created for 100 qty
3. Production Confirmation done for 1st operation for 50 qty
4. Next operation is testing or Quality inspection
5. Used 03 insp type(WIP inspection)
6. Result Recording should be allowed only for 50 Qty
7. If i go for 51, system should give message(i.e confirmation not done for 51)
8. Usage decision saved for 50 qty, Remaining 50 qty,we have to do separate RR & UD once confirmation done
Please let me know the settings,
Thanks & Regards
GajendranathHello Gajendra
Please find my inputs
1) PLease activate in OPK4 for the production order type these 3 setting
a) Operation sequence : Error when operation sequence is not followed
b) Overdelivery : Error when overdelivery tolerance is exceeded
c) Results Rec. (QM) : Error message if no insp. result exists
by doing this a) you make the sequence of operation mandatory. no body can confirm operation no 30 without confirming 10 & 20
b) if you have confirmed 50 in the first operation, you cannot confirm more than 50 in second operation
c) it will not allow you to confirm through C011n if the result recording is not done
2) Kindly understand for 03 inspection the lot quantity will be of 100 (PO quantity as in your case). so it is impossible to give UD for 50 quantity and then do the UD for the rest of the quantity.
UD is for the lot and not for the confirmed quantity. And please note for 03 inspection confirmation holds the importance rather than the UD
So use 03 for intend of its use

Connecting the Sequence Operator to the Mapping Output Parameter?
my OWB Client: 10.2.0.2.8
my OWB Repository: 10.2.0.2.0
I need to obtain a sequence number (from the Sequence Operator), then output it
using the Mapping Output Parameter, if possible.
I have tried two things:
1. Connect Sequence Operator nextval variable to the Mapping Output Parameter.
This generates error:
"Table,View Or Sequence reference 'xx_SEQ.NEXTVAL' not allowed in this
context"
2. Join the Sequence Operator nextval variable with a source table, then
connect a port from the dataflow to Mapping Output Parameter.
This generates error:
"Mapping Input Parameter and Mapping Output Parameter are intended to be
executed before and after the data flow of the mapping and cannot accept
inputs from any part of the data flow."
From what I have seen so far, it appears it may not be possible to use the
Sequence Operator along with the Mapping Output Parameter. If Im wrong, please
let me know of an example of how the Sequence Operator and Mapping Output
Parameter can be connected.
ThanksUser -
Look at adding a Post-Mapping Process to your mapping, there you have a choice of built in functions or custom ones that could return a sequence value for you. You may have to create the sequence outside of OWB ...

Problems with Sequence Operator in OWB
Hi everybody,
i want to use a sequence in my mapping. Now i have two problems.
The first problem is the following. When i want to import my sequence (exists on my DB) i can select the sequence in the Selection Window, but when i click on Import i didn't see it in the Design Center, also there is no window which tells me that i have successfully imported the sequence.
The second problem is, when i drag the Sequence Operator into my Mapping i shows the Selection Window where i have to select the poject and object to bind the operator. But i can't select any object.
Can anyone help me with my problems and tell me how i can use a Sequence and the Sequence Operator in my Mapping
Many thanks in advance.
GreetingsHi everyone!
I'm having a repeated problem with sequences in OWB: I'm filling a TIME table with 1096 rows. Now matter how and when I create the sequence it always starts with 2 instead of 1. Moreover, the last value of the sequence is 1101, when it was supposed to be 1097 or 1098....
I did achieve the right ouput sometimes, but I must be doing something wrong. Here are the several ways I've tried in OWB:
1) I've created all the sequences by sql code, in SQL DEVELOPER or PLUS*, and then imported to OWB. Because of being imported, I didn't have to deploy each sequence. Then, I've connected (by drag and drop to the canvas mapping) the sequence I wanted with NEXTVAL (as I always do) attached do TIME_ID of table TIME;
2) I've dropped and created, several times(as before), the sequences and never had problems..until now. I've also experimented creating, by scratch, the sequences just in OWB and then deploy them in Control Center. After this, deployed the mapping and executed, just like in 1).
So, the difference lies on how I create the sequences and what are the correct steps to create, deploy (if needed), deploy the map and execute the map.
This is insain and I really need this to work. I've tried so many ways....
Could someone PLEASE help me with this? Any thoughts? -
Work center design and operation confirmation
Hi All,
In my scenario im grouping the similar m/c to a work center
say for ex. 4 lathes m/c into a single work center as LatheALL and also the indiv cap as 4
my customer wants the traceability in which m/c the job is done
So i had designed in such a way that
1 LatheALL -4 cap(this will be additional wc)
2. lathe1 - 1cap
3.lathe2 - 1cap
4.lathe3-1cap
5.lathe4-1cap
in the routing only latheALL will be given., this will help customer in planning
when going for operation confirmation i will give confirmation for that operation and will confirm as lathe1or lathe2 or etc.. this will help prodn dept for traceability in which m/c the work is done
this is method i have informed to client .,
pls advice is this approach is correct ?
also suggest by giving confirmation for another work center will the capacity for the original work center will be reduced
Regards
Anand SrinivasanHi Anand,
this is method i have informed to client .,
pls advice is this approach is correct ?
yes, during confirmation time to enter the orginal actual work center, this suitable for your client requirement, do the settings for OPK0 - change the confirmations parameters (0410 or 0420)

Does anyone know why this wuld be happening?
Also, what constitutes a complex mapping?
Any help is greatly appreciated.Hi John,
Can you explain what your mapping is supposed to execute (merge statement with sequence, multi table insert with sequence, ...) ?

Illegal use of sequence operator
Hi All,
In my map I am using a sequence in the expression operator and then I am putting the output to a joiner and after that data is moved to target table but while validating this map I am getting error:sequence operator r used in complex mapping which requires generation using nested subquery.sequences r not allowed to be used in nested subqueries. Can anyone tell me how can this issue be resolved.
Thanks n Regards,
AmritHi,
You can try moving the Sequence operator after join, ie as a final step close to target.

Operation confirmation without inspection results - not working
Hi All,
We have 4 operations for one production order.
1st operation has 5 MICs
2nd operation - no MICs
3rd operation - no MICs
4th operation - 1 MIC.
In tcode OPK4 I have configured error message if QM results are not recorded.
Before result recording I tried to do 1st operation confirmation (tcode CO11n). I got error QM data for operation missing (as expected).
Now for the first operation (having 5 MICs), I have recorded values for only 1 MIC (out of 5). Then it is not giving error for 1st operation confirmation.
Our requirement is- all 5 MICs must be recorded for operation confirmation.
How to handle this. Please Help.
Thanks & regardsThe configuration setting you have made doesn't give error message during confirmation even when one of the MIC assigned to one Operation is recorded and remaining MIC's assigned are not recorded.
Hence we can use User Exit during Confirmation screen and do the necessary coding to throw a error message if RR is not done.
