Alternative authoring apps listed

I mentioned this in a previous thread, but for folks just
catching up,
I've posted a list of potentially suitable alternative
authoring
applications at the AwareTips website:

With whatever brief insights I could glean from discussions
here and/or
quick site visits. It may help during your research... If I
have time,
which is always short, perhaps I can implement a rating
system or some
other sort of user-feedback... Will see.
I'll happily take other suggestions, and would love to do

product matrix as suggested in another thread, but really
doubt I'll
have the time to do that...
Any other insights, etc, happy to entertain those as well.

    I would like to know how to remove app, that are still in my authorized app list of the firewall ?
    while i go to <about this mac> -> < more info> (sorry for the translation i use a french version of OS X Maverick)
    and then look to <firewall>. I see some app that are list on the authorize app :

    these app are no longer use, uninstalled of the systeme but still here
    i can't see them on the utility pannel of the firewall as the other app that
    i use so i can't remove them the easy way.

    Does apps likes logic pro or Quartz composer part of the OS i don't think so.
    I am talking of app that need an acess to the network and that are reported
    on some file or bd to pass freely the firewall.
    if those app try to connect the network the firewall would let them.

  • Finally an AWESOME alternative to Zenbe Lists

    I just wanted to share that I have finally found an awesome alternative to Zenbe Lists.  My wife and I used Zenbe Lists to sync our grocery list, among other things, such as to-do's and shopping lists, but the developer quit maintaining Zenbe and left his userbase hanging.  So, we have been searching for a long, long time and we have finally found an app that is not only as good as Zenbe Lists, but BETTER!

    My wife and I are using gTasks HD to share and sync our grocery shopping list.  And it is exceptional!  It's considerably more powerful than Zenbe was and it uses both/either Google Tasks and/or Yahoo Tasks to sync to ... this means we won't need to worry about server reliability or availability ... Google and Yahoo are solid!  The interface is slick and powerful and I cannot recommend it enough.  The free version is fully functional, but crippled in that it only allows 5 entries to be added to a list.  Unfortunately, $4.99 is the cost to unlock it fully, but I can assure you, this is the best $10 we've spent ($5 each).  This list app will easily become our most used app aside from the phone, e-mail, calendar, contacts and weather apps ... and we have a lot of apps!
    Note: I'm not affiliated with gTasks HD or Yaniv Katan in any way.  It's just a great app and I'm going to help get the word out because it is that good!

    I love you!!! My daughter was going crazy, she has tons of songs loaded on her iPod and, despite all the solutions from the website, we were running out of alternatives.   • This may be more of an OS issue than a Curve issue but here goes. How do you remove the installed apps list on my 8530's AppWorld?

    I have never purchased any apps yet but I have tried quite a few and now I'm stuck with this list of more than 20 apps listed in the Uninstalled section of my 8530's Blackberry App World.
    As they are ALL free apps that I tried and DON'T installed on my phone for one reason or another, I would like to remove any existence of these apps from my phone and/or my App World Account.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    What you ask cannot be done. The AppWorld servers forever remember every app you download to your BB, free or not. Consider the alternative...if those were paid apps and RIM did not retain the purchase record, then when you want the app back later, you'd have to pay again...not a good situation I'd think.
    And, before you say it...I agree...I think that they should be able to differentiate between free and fee-based apps. But, they don't. That's just the way it works.

  • Muse is NOT Working, Illustrator Update FAILS, Apps list is NOT Correct. What Do I Do?

    I started having issues with CC a couple months ago out of no where. Mostly just with updates from CC for the apps.
    I did the suggested re-installs of CC and then had to try to update by fully re-installing apps and I had funciontality but errors trying to update Illustrator and most of the installed apps did not show up in the CC interface.
    Now I try to do a quick update to a site thru Muse and it tells me that it would not validate my subscription and would be canceled in 2 days.
    I again followed instructions on Adobe to delete a couple of folders and try to re start Muse.
    Now I get an unexpected error and cnont use the program.
    I test out CC for updates and the Muse app shows up to date, Bridge app surprisingly updated fine, and as expected, once again, Illustrator errors out on the update and still my CC app list is not correct so I honestly dont know what updates I have to do on the other programs.
    I checked my subscription details and everything is fine.
    Not having the ability to update efficiently from CC is not a huge deal as long as I can use the programs to work. Not being abel to work because of some programing hiccup is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
    Anybody have any possible paths to fix these latest issues?
    Should I start by wiping the machine clean of any installs and then completely try to re-install everything?
    what a pain.

    UPDATE:   
    I got home tonight and tried to open up Muse.
    This time it opened up the login screen and actually made it past the point it errored at previously.
    Illustrator update stilll gives an Error 8.

    It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone?   • Apps list not showing in snow leopard dock

    I dragged the applications icon/folder from the user to the right of the hash marks on the dock, but all I get when I click on it is a line with Options and Open in Finder,no apps list (though it's set for sort by name, display as folder and vieew as list, just as the documents and download folders are set - which both work fine). How to fix?

    If you had done what Captfred thinks, i.e. used the Applications folder in your user home folder instead of the one at the root (primary) level of the hard drive, the difference is -
    The Applications folder in the user home folder holds apps segregated for use only by that user's account - it's how apps can be restricted for some user accounts. The privelege settings in a given account set that up.
    The apps in the root level Applications folder are available to everyone.
    Typically, in a system which has no additional user accounts added to it, the Applications folder in the user home folder will be empty, or nearly so. In a one-user setup there's no need to segregate anything.

    i've had your same proble,
    you have to go on settings-->itunes&app stores-->apple ID and sign out.
    after this restart your device:
    Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home buttonat the bottom center of the face at the same time.
    Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
    Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
    ok, now go to settings-->itunes&app stores-->apple ID and sign in again
    ... for me it worked

    In between, I got a messge about verifying my payment method. When I tried to submit the details, I kept getting a mmessage stating that my payment method was declined (my card is not near it's expiration date, and works fine).
    Argh!

    Hello. Is there a way to change or assign which apps the iPad lists in the "Open In" feature for a file type?  I had to delete one of my notetaking apps before "Open In" would list "Stanza" as an option to open a PDF.

    I posted something similar and tested this out on my iphone.
    deleted ibooks app
    This expanded my "open in" apps list to greater than 10 apps ... I think it includes all the apps that can possibly open pdfs now.
    Inconvenient that ibooks has to be deleted to do this but its better than deleting several other paid apps randomly until the app you want appears in the list.
    i am wonderin if this will work the same on the ipad.

    I am sure that by my question you can tell that I am a beginner "Newbie" to all of this. I have been puzzled by this since the first day I subscribed and installed the cloud on my PC. Under the Apps tab some apps are listed as TRY and some as INSTALL. So, I was wondering if the Apps that are listed as INSTALL are optional add on's for my plan. I have clicked on them both and the APPS listed as INSTALL take me to a download page for that app, and the Apps listed as TRY take me to a page where I can download or buy that App. I am assuming that the download on the Apps listed as TRY are trials. I am sure that everyone here thinks I am the biggest NOOB ever but I don't like trial and error when I can avoid it. Any help from you guys out there will be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

    Are the apps checked to be synced to the iPod and did you click on the sync button in Tunes?
    Were the apps purchased fro the same accoubnt signed into in the iPod?
    Are the apps compatible witht he iPOd model and iOS version?
    Do you have restrictions set that prohibit instaling apps?
