Iam new commer to this openscript.Urgent.. Please any one help me which one is the alternative method for loadObjectLibrary() in openscript9.2.

Before making the settings in feature 40TRM, you must set the same Action Type for the Action

you can use IMG link under Payroll India -> Termination -> Create reasons for Personnel Actions.
For example- if 40TRM return value is 10 then there shud be action reasons N0, N1, N2 for the Action 10 in V_T530.
well 1 more thing, enter the pernr in termination workbench and press ENTER then try to check F4 of 'Reason'.
I know it looks funny but as the pernr is mandatory field there, you need to press 'Enter' after this.

Alternative method for location.reload()

Can anyone suggest what is the alternate method compatible both in IE as well as Netscape for location.reload() to reload a frame?I tried using history.reload() but it doesn't work!!!

Alternative methods for checking battery health

Model: 8922-A26, 3000 C200
So in the process of trying my hardest to keep a recalcetrant C200 from it's sixth visit to the service centre in less than 11 months of ownership, I am trying to see if there's anything I can do to improve its battery life beyond the pitiful 30min i'm currently getting.
Being a longtime thinkpad customer, I tried all the usual methods including the three-cycle power down and drain trick to recondition the battery, with no solution and ran through all the possible solutions in MIGR-63114 to no success at all.
Except one - verify the health of the unit's battery, an online tool which uses ActiveX applets to work some black magic and tell you if it's pooped or not. However, it seems this tool is broken.
It's not working in either IE6 or 7, and despite prompting you to install all the AX components nothing ever happens no matter how long you leave it. And if sitting around isn't good enough for you, you can stare at the broken image which is supposed to be a progress bar.
Does anyone have any alternative ways of checking the battery health on a C200 or firing off some reconditioning tools to save me being another week without this unit? I don't mind dealing with the phone support group, but i'll be darned if I let the service techs near the unit again because I just know my luck will see them fix or replace the wrong part - for the third time in a row.

I don't believe there is a way but more than likely an Apple Store can check it if there is one nearby.
I've seen a post or two here reporting the same and the solution provided (which claimed to help) was using the iPhone until the battery is depleted causing the iPhone to turn off. Plug it in and allow it to charge completely.
And if you haven't already done so, it can't hurt to Reset and/or Restore your iPhone.

DownloadServlet or alternative method for file download

I have searched the forums for this topic and have seen one other posting from someone having the same problem (with no response). I can not get the oracle.jsp.webutil.fileaccess.DownloadServlet to fully function. Using the file access example code that is installed with iAS and following the instructions in the manual "Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE JSP Tag Libraries and Utilities Reference 10g (9.0.4)" I can get the file upload to work just fine (both to a file and to the database). However with the file download it stops short of working. It will access the DownloadServlet and list the files that have been uploaded, but when you try to follow the link that it creates you get a "400 Bad Request"
If you look at the URL it creates I see what I think is a problem

The problem I see is the fileprefix (from the upload) "beanexample" and the filename "fields.txt" is appended to the end of the servlet "download", while the rest of the parameters to the DownloadServlet are passed in the proper manner "srcType=database". I have been unable to find any documentation on the DownloadServlet so I don't know if there are setters for the fileprefix or the filename.
This example code has been out for sometime, I know it was with iAS 9.0.2. Has any one been successful implementing the download of a file from the database using the oracle.jsp.webutil.fileaccess.HttpDownloadBean or the tag?
Certainly Oracle must test this stuff before they release it. At some point I think this must have work.

Larry, the DownloadServlet certainly worked at some point of time as ensured by the automated tests. It should work all the time, I believe, unless......

there are setters for the fileprefix or the filename.A nice observation. That is the root cause of the problem, I believe. Actually, the documentation is right there in the example dbBeanDownloadExample.jsp. You should use
 String name = (String)fileNames.nextElement()).replace('\\','/');
as in the example instead of
 String name = (String)fileNames.nextElement();
Well, I will check if this point of changing '\' to '/' have been made explicitly in the documentation. That kind s of tiny point is sometimes really a killer.

Alternative method for displaying images blobs stored in DB

I am trying to use an Application Process as a means to displaying images stored in BLOB columns in my table. And it works except for one problem. The code for my on-demand Application Process is below (the name of the application process is OUTPUT_IMAGE):

Which works nicely.
The question/problem is: How can I pass the ID of the record (whose BLOB I want to display) to the Application Process? (In the code above you'll see the value of 260 is currently hard coded). I thought about tacking on something like "&my_id=xxx' to the end of the URL but doing so prevents the Application Process from even running.

The URL for an Application Process uses the standard f?p syntax.
Try passing your value like this:
< img src="f?p=[my_app_id]:0:[the_session_id]:APPLICATION_PROCESS=OUTPUT_IMAGE:NO::MY_ID:[the value to send]"> You would need to have an item called MY_ID.
Your query could then refer to it as
WHERE id = :MY_ID;

Alternative method for Creationcomplete....

Hi guys..
 I am trying to load bunch of product detail into a canvas component from a List component.
Every time the user clicks on a product inside my List, the product detail will be displayed in the canvas component.
The product detail might contain null and I want to check it before displaying in my canvas component. In my canvas component, I use createcomplete to check if the productDetail==null then do something.
My problem is if the user clicks the product with the non-null detail first time, the statement "if (productDetail==null) then do something" won't work if the user click a null product detail because the canvas component has been created the first time user clicks a non-null product detail.
I want to check if the productDetail==null every time the user click a product...I hope I explain my question well and appreciate any helps.
My code..

The problem is not that understandable... but still according to me don't go for creationcomplete ...
Go for change event of list... write in change handler whether the product details is null or not and then accordingly make canvas visible ..

CSS Flexbox - a new layout method for web pages

As you may all know, css flexbox is a new layout method for laying out your web page, and with Firefox releasing version 22 within the next few days, (should have been yesterday) it is now no longer hidden behind browser settings. Add to this the fact that all desktop browser except IE10 and Safari 5 & 6, no longer require the use of a vendor prefix, and that http://html5please.com/ simply say ’USE’, flexbox is now finally a viable layout alternative, especially for responsive layouts.
Flexbox has been available on all Android and iOS devices, (and any device using the webkit engine, e.g. new blackberry’s and Kindle Fire devices) since they were first release.
To help find problems, and provide help in using flexbox, we would be grateful if you would experiment and provide feedback in the use of flexbox for layouts.
To help you get started a video tutorial, (with files to download) and examples of layouts, (more to be added next week) and tips & tricks to help with some of the more common problems have been provided at http://flexboxlayouts.com/. This site will also be updated to provide you with a list of problems and hopefully the solutions to those problems, so that you will have a ’one stop’ reference site for using flexbox.

Yes I know, and this is why I am asking people to experiment with flexbox.
The fix for IE10 is to give the right hand sidebar, (or the content) a larger flex-grow property, the bug is caused by the flex shorthand property not recognizing % values, and using the flex-basis as a set width instead of a preferred size.
I have logged the bug, (and many others) with the various browser bug bases.
This and other bugs, do have 'fixes', so I hope users will experiment with flexbox and provide feedback.
Flexbox is no different than any other css feature, "we can only find the problems in actual use".
Strangely enough, I have found the most consistent to use is the old 2009 implementation on mobile devices, (no doubt iOS7 will change all that ).

Organizing Applications in Applications Folder -- An Alternative Method

I know that the general advice for those looking to organize their applications better has been to create a subfolder somewhere, copy the aliases for all the applications to that folder, organize as desired, and then drop that folder onto the Dock. This strikes me a bit un-Mac OS Xy.
Well, I happened upon an alternative method that suits me much better. It is hinted at in another thread, but for the life of me I can't find it again. So here goes:
I press Command+I on my applications in Finder, then
Click Spotlight Comments, then
Type in a category for the application.
After I label all my applications,
I create a Smart Folder with
the search criteria based on the Spotlight comments I just entered.
The Smart Folder appears in the left pane of the Finder window.
I select the Smart Folder and see my organized applications.
Voilà!
I don't necessarily care about being able to select them straight from the Dock.

Nice idea, but I'm a little unclear which metadata I should use in the Smart Folder search. I don't see an item that specifically looks in the Spotlight Comments. I tried using "Comment" but that doesn't seem to work.

Best method for dynamically populating PDF on the web?

I'm trying to find a web-based solution to populate text within an existing PDF with a person's name (using a name variable within the PDF body copy in several spots). I know that LiveCycle Designer is the best method for creating dynamic PDF's but since I'm on a Mac, LiveCycle Designer wasn't packaged with my CS5 Suite / Acrobat 9 and I'm not eager to run windows in parallel and pay for acrobat pro a second time just to have it on windows for the LiveCycle functionality...CS5 wasn't cheap ha.
So I'm trying to find out if there are alternative ways to achieve this without going down that road. I don't mind writing PHP or using some other programming language to set it up online, but I just seem to be finding many different methods coming up and cannot find the most straightforward solution.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

LiveCycle Designer won't do what you want. It requires server software: LiveCycle Forms will do the trick.

Methods for Remote Event Log Collection (WMI vs RPC vs WinRM)

Hi,
I'm currently evaluating several 3rd party tools (SIEMs) to help me with log management in a large (mostly) Windows domain environment. Each tool uses a different approach to collecting the event log from remote systems, and I'd like help understanding the
pros and cons of each approach. I've dropped this in the scripting forum as the tools are essentially running different scripts and it's this part I would like to understand.
WMI: An agent installed on a windows server connects to each monitored box and grabs their event logs via WMI. Our legacy SIEM already collects from over 2000 servers using this method.
RPC: As above, but using RPC. No changes required on the remote machines.
WinRM: An appliance integrates with AD and collects event logs remotely using WinRM. This is reasonably new to me (i'm a security guy, not a sys admin) but I seem to have to enable an additional remote management tool, and open a new listening port on every
single machine I want to collect the event log from.
I read the following blog entry, which seemed to indicate that RPC was the best choice for performance, considering I'm going to be making high frequency connections to over 2000 targets:

However, everything I have found on the subject of remote event collection seems to suggest that WinRM is the "approved" method for event log collection. The vendor using the WinRM approach is also suggesting that it is the only official MS supported

So I would like to ask, is there a reason that WMI and RPC should not be used for this purpose, since they clearly work and don't require any changes to my environment? Is there some advantage to WinRM that justifies touching my entire estate and opening
an additional port (increasing my attack surface)?

I'm aware of the push method, and may indeed move to it in time, although I'm just as likely to install a 3rd party agent on the machines to perform this role with greater functionality and manageability for the same effort. I've only seen organisations
using commercial agents (snare, splunk, etc) or WMI for log collection in practice, so I don't think I'm the only one with reservations about it.
Anything that involves making configuration changes to a large and very varied estate is not something to do lightly. Particularly if alternatives exist that don't require this change to be carried out immediately. That is why I'm looking to properly understand
the pros and cons of these "legacy" approaches for use as an interim solution if nothing more.
Pulling probably is more resource intensive, although I've not seen an actual comparison, but it's not really that fragile in my experience. If a single pull fails, you just collect the logs you missed at the next pull cycle in a few seconds/minutes.
All logs are pulled directly into a SIEM for analysis, so that part is covered.
Anyway, I appreciate the input, but I'm still holding out for concrete reasons to move away from WMI/RPC or to embrace WinRM. Bear in mind I'm considering fixing something that doesn't look broken to me!
