Alternative router settings to replace hh4

Hi all
I have recently purchased a Cisco rv220w router to replace my home hub 4. I have tried and tried but can't seem to get the router to receive an internet signal. I have used pppoe and changed the user name to that of my home hub.. I think one issue might be that my new router is asking me for a password and the hh4 doesn't have one?
Any one on here had any luck or can share some advice about using an alternative router? Would a call to bt help?
James

Just to confirm, are you on Infinity or adsl broadband. If on adsl broadband your new router does not have an adsl modem it is only a router and that would be the reason it won't work.
If you are on Infinity I presume you are connecting through the Openreach modem as your router does not have a VDSL modem built in and would not work with out the Openreach one.

  • Airprint no longer working – router settings wrong?

Airprint no longer working – router settings wrong?  Network TP-Link TD-W8951ND router.   version 5.1, Firmware build 120522.  As far as I know the settings are factory defaults with two exceptions.  My ISP input various settings to reflect my proper internet connect configuration.  I have assigned one static port “100” to a printer not currently on the network. Auto DHCP now starts at “101”.  Epson Artisan 837 printer.  New, Bonjour service name EPSON3FC9CA (Artisan 837),   auto IP address (currently 192.168.1.103), firmware WB15D3 38.38 linked wirelessly not by Ethernet.  iPhone 4S Software 6.1.3 (10B329).   iPad 3 Software version 6.1.3 (10B329)   Windows Vista 32-bit laptop, linked wirelessly, auto IP address  Windows 7 64-bit desktop, linked via Ethernet, auto IP address  MagicJack Plus, linked via Ethernet, auto IP address   Installing Epson On June 6, 2013, using my laptop, installed it wirelessly on my network.  Updated firmware etc.  All worked well.  Same for the desktop.  Again all functioning as planned.  The installed printer name was Artisan 837 (Network)  When I tried to use the Airprint function on my iPhone it could not find any Airprint printers.  I downloaded and ran the Bonjour print services wizard.  This created a printer named EPSON3FC9CA (Artisan 837).  I could now print wirelessly as planned. Problem solved I thought.  As of June 6, 2013 all software and firmware is current.  On June 12 attempted to link my iPad to Airprint for the first time.  It could not find an Airprint printer.  I tried my iPhone and it could no longer find an Airprint printer. I tried numerous powerdowns, reboots, reinstalls etc. to no avail.  I can point Safari wirelessly to the printer IP address on both iPhone and iPad and see the printer’s “web page” to check ink level, settings etc.  I downloaded Epson iPrint to both iPhone and iPad and that software works as planned allowing wireless printing.  I tested the Epson on my older Linksys router  and my iPad found it as an Airprint printer!  Worked wirelessly as planned.  Conclusions The only thing that is not working as planned is Airprint functionality on my TP-Link network. I am thinking there is a setting on the TP-Link router that needs to be adjusted to keep the Bonjour established software path open and persistent.  From the time I first established the Airprint connection to the next time I tried to establish a connection was some 6 days.  Although the iPad and iPhone renew their network lease every 90 days, the other equipment lease runs for 3 days before renewal.  I don’t know if the IP address of the Epson changed on renewal.  (Even if it did, I would hope the discover functionality should follow to the new address.)  Over that 6 day period there were no software or firmware changes.  As far as I know the only environmental change would be related to IP addresses or something else at the router level severing the connection.   Before trying a static IP setting for the Epson (and I don’t know if that will work) are there any other router settings to check that will clear up this situation?  I am sending this to TP-Link, Epson, Apple, and my ISP in hopes that a solution can be found.

Thank you for your reply.  What I didn't mention was that I have spent days googling to find an solution.  I have tried most alternatives suggested to no avail.  My problem is quite technical and most probably has a very specific and simple solution related to my router (set ABC to 123XY).  All alternatives ended, "if this doesn't work contact the supplier".  So I have - Apple (here), Epson, TP-Link and my ISP.  When (if?) I find a solution I'll post it here for others to learn from.

  • Is it worth purchasing an alternative router?

Just got fibre enabled last thursday and since last night, it was running pretty great. I've got the Infinity 2 package, so I was getting a sweet 74Mb Down & 18 Up.
Last night however, it had dropped, significantly, like - all the way down to 20 and nothing had changed in my router settings. Typically when I ping google.co.uk, I'd get 14 - 15 ms, last night, it was bouncing around to 250ms, which I didn't understand.
I also spend a lot of my time at home online gaming, and for the first time, I was rubber-banding like crazy. One minute I'm standing somewhere and it'd throw me back to where I was a few seconds earlier. Ping would usually be 20ms, then all of a sudden it'd throw me to 70ms and then drop back down again.
After reading the forums, I've gathered that it's potentially a problem with the HH5, and if so, then I don't really want it anymore, I'd much rather purchase an alternative, stable router. Though if it's not as simple as that, I'd be happy to listen to info!
But in all seriousness BT, please sort it out. Customers pay for the Infinity 2 package for a reason, dropping below speeds that Infinity 1 offer is not acceptable.
Also, currently not at home at this time so I can't provide any logs/information.

I have recently been upgraded from adsl to infinity 2 with unfortunately an ongoing issue of speed being less than half of that promised.
The facility I miss most on a home hub is the lack of remote management. I spend a fair time away from home and find it a real irritation that BT doesn't allow remote access to a hub. How can we change port forwarding or even check sync speeds or reset without access.
I haven't decided yet which router/VDSL modem to go for but the TP link seems good value for money, allowing USB media storage as well as an FTP server.
An Asus possibly does more, and if you are still not satisfied with the firmware supplied with it there are custom ones available with even more features.

  • Want to propose Alternative Route in Order

    Hi friends,
I would like to know what configuration settings I should be doing for to propose Alternative Route in Order.
    Condition is as below.
Rec Zone(X)Shipping Zone(Y)SH Cond(02)+ Trans Grp(0001) = Route( ABC) .Here I want to propose (popup) laternative routes.
Please reply soon.Waiting for your kind reply.

    hello again.
also look into IMG > SD > Basic Functions > Routes > Route Determination > Maintain Route Determination.
if you are just defining a combination of departure zone and receiving zone, click 'New Entries'.  if you are adding alternative routes, select a combination and click Route Determination without weight group.  in the next screen, you can make your assignments based on Shipping conditions + Transport group + proposed route.
if weight group is relevant, then click on Route Determination with weight group.  in the next screen, the weight group and actual (alternative) route can be assigned together with the transport group and shipping conditions.
    regards.

  • Yoga 2 11 drops signal on Airport router - change router settings?

i have spent several hours with Lenovo tech supports (all perfectly friendly), trying to fix the issue of the Yoga 2 11 consistently dropping the wifi connection at my workplace.  Two important considerations:
    * It's not entirely on the Yoga, as it does not have this issue with home wifi, coffee shop wifi, etc.
    * And several other PC and Mac desktop and laptops have no trouble with the workplace wifi.  The problem is definitely the way that the Yoga interacts with the Airport router.
Lenovo tech support has made numerous changes to my drivers, system settings, and so on, but cannot fix the problem. The next solution is to return the Yoga to factory settings -- a solution I'm convinced will not work as I've already returned one laptop to Best Buy for the same problem. In other words, two Yogas, directly out of the box (presumably with factory settings), had this issue.
My question is -- is there possibly a way I can change the Airport router settings (or set up a new network entirely) that might be more compatible with the Yoga 2 11 with Intel Wireless-N 7260 card?  If I can't get the Yoga to talk to the router, maybe the router can be changed to talk to the Yoga.

To determine that open AirPort Utility, select your base station, then position your cursor over the base station's name. Reply with the text shown adjacent to "model".

  • Verizon Quantum Gateway Router settings issue related to printing and wifi cameras?

    Hi,
I have a Verizon Quantum Gateway router and I just did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and am downloading and installing my printer drivers.  I connect the printer to the wifi network, 100% sure it is connected and settings are set to wireless lan.  I've had this printer for a while.  Doing the setup - it cannot find the printer.
Related: I bought a 2 pack of Motorola Focus66 wifi cameras to watch my dogs when I'm gone.  I can connect to the cameras when I'm on my ipad's Verizon Wireless LTE connection, but when I'm at home connected to my same Verizon Fios wifi I cannot view cameras.  Yes - the camera and apps support local and remote connections.
I have turned the firewalls all the way off and this does not fix the problems, so I'm believing it is in the router settings.  Any suggestions?

I had a wifi network running at my house with a PC, Laptop, 5 iphones an iPad, and an XBox all running with no issues..  I got the "Upgrade" of the Gateway router and I can connect those devices to the network but WiFi printing is screwed up and Air Printing the apple devices is totally dead..  cannot see the printer.  The customer support are completely a waste..  they suggested I pay for "Premium Support"  At this point I've invested a solid 10-15 hours trying to get this setup and talking to Verizon and its just a mess.

  • MFBF and Alternative Routing Sequence

    Hi;
We are using REM in PP.We confirm via MFBF. And we create routings via ca01. I want to use alternative routing sequence during confirmation.
What should I do? or Is it possible for REM?
    Thanks.

    Hi;
Thanks for your answers. I dont want to create new production versions. But routing informations are change.
Ex: I have two machines in a production line, lets say it A and B. This line has a work center code in SAP ( lets says Line1)
When I use only machine A I produce 100 pieces in 5 minutes with 2 worker. But when I use A & B at the same time I produce 100 pieces in 3 minutes with 3 worker.
Machine A and B are connected to the same conveyor belt, so I put the pieces in the same palette. And during confirmation I use Line1 as workcenter.
What should I do to post the exact activities ?
    Thanks for your information.

  • HELP PLEASE ROUTER SETTINGS

Hi, i cannot access my router settings through my browser i know the ip address I'm suppose to go to in my browser  but when it asks me for my user i don't know what it is nor my password. I already changed my password on my router  do i use that to access my router settings through the internet? i tired to use my router password for the password for the settings but it doesn't work? What am i suppose to but as my dam password and username. When i use my laptop to connect to my router its shows up as EDDIELAN that is what it shows up as when i searched for wifi connections on my laptop. Am i suppose to use EDDIELAN as my user and the password on my router for the password on the setting pagee?
Also currently my router i think has a time when i can use my internet. For example i can't use my internet between 3:30pm and 7:00 pm. How do i disable that crap so i can use my internet anytime i want? Can i control the time i use my internet through the settings? Somebody has set this in my router and i know how have to get rid of it! i want to be able to use my internet when ever i want! help please how do i disable that?

As the password of the router is not working..You have to reset the router for 25-30 seconds and then, try to access the router setup page...Once you reset the router, all the settings on the router will go to factory default...Now,you can configure the router from scratch.

  • ARD 3.3 slow screen redraw - are there special router settings ?

    Hello all !
I think I read somewhere on previous Google searches about special router settings to help ARD run as quickly as possible.
I connect to an external site via an intermediate machine in a DMZ area for security (Network Group stipulation) and have found ARD 3 to be sluggish on a line that has actually been upgraded from 2MBit to 10 MBit ...
I am ARDing from my machine to another also running ARD to then get to the site ...
I also recall version 2 of ARD "seemed" to be better redraw then this version ...

So is NO ONE experiencing this?
I find that hard to believe...

  • Router settings for ITouch

I have been trying to connect my new ITouch with my home wireless, but am having numerous problems.  It won't accept the password.  I have read some of the discussions, but there are so many things listed there.  Right now my router, a WRT54G, is set as WEP with a 64 bit code.  From what I have read, I should change it to a 128 bit and generate a key code for that.  If I do that, will I need to do something different for my laptops, which have been working fine with the wireless?  I don't want to mess things up, as I am not use to dealing with router settings, etc.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you change the WEP Encryption from 64-bit to 128-bit,generate the passphrase for you and use KEY 1 to reconnect the wireless network on your laptop.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the Wireless tab, click on the wireless tab,Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz,Provide Unique SSID for the Wireless Network Name(not linksys)...and click on save settings.Click on Advanced Wireless Settings,Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now,try to connect the I-Phone and check...

  • Need to know how to reconfigure router settings

Hi - I was online with tech support for an hour before they told me that they couldn't help me unless I paid them or bought a new router.  Neither is an option for me financially so I hope that someone can help.  :-(
My cable signal went out very briefly, probably for 5-10 seconds.  When it came back, my router was no longer working.  I jumped through all the reset hoops that normally work, but nothing worked this time.  The tech guy said that I needed to reconfigure my router settings.  I don't know how.  Can someone here help me?
I  am running Windows Vista and the router is a Linksys E1000, version 2.  Is there a page on this site that tells me what to do?  I couldn't find it.
Thank you SO much for any help that you can give me.  I'm desperate!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi! You have to access the setup page of the router to reconfigure the settings. This link should help you: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=0ff4c94586a345d082828ec2161aaecf_3686.xml&pid=80&r.... Before doing the steps though, reset your router by pushing the reset button on the device for 15seconds.

  • Router Settings Help

I'm wondering how I get to my router settings (on the browser, not system preferences).
I've tried entering my IP address into the address bar, but that didn't work.
I'm trying to switch the channel my internet is on, because it's interfering with my phone.
If you don't know what I'm talking about.. it should look something like this >>
    http://tinyurl.com/33fsack
I don't know if I can change this "channel" on the airport settings, but any help will be appreciated.

You need to experiment with different channels settings.
    AirPort Utility > Manual Setup
Wireless tab/label just below the icons
The Channel setting is on this page. It's probably on Automatic now. Try some manual settings to see if you can find a better channel with less interference.
