Alternative to pre .. /pre formatting of columns?

Hello,
is there an alternative (maybe css-style - is there a list of these predefined definitions anywhere?) to the <pre>...</pre> formatting of columns.
The problem of this way of doing it, is that the highlighting feature is not working any more.

Check for that date 0001.01.01 00:00:00 000 in the script, why so hard?
But really, I'd use the Conditional Split and check for string representation of the date diverting incorrect records.

In iWeb how do I delete download link in pre formatted iweb page?

Hi
I am adding a pre formated page to be existing website and do not want the download facility on any photos shown.
Those that I have uploaded have all be disabled from this happening by using the Photo Inspector photo sharing thingy.
However when you go online and open up the larger image with all the images above on the right hand side is a
download link which is still active! How do I get rid of this? Can I? Or do i have to start again and create my
own page from scratch (which I could probably do but will take ages!!).
Any ideas?

Thank you Jeff!! Now I feel a right twit - it was staring me in the face. I confused download with upload in my brain and didn't think that was relevant!
I am mainly a pc person for my business - yes I know that's a sin to you lot & I have the mac for my website and photos and I am gradually working out how it thinks.
Have sorted it now and I will use this community thing again.

Export form results to pre-formatted Word or PDF email

I am new to this forum and new to Dreamweaver 8 and I have a question.
Here is what I want to achieve, using on online form:
My salesman inputs his client's name, address etc.;
The salesman selects the products or services that his client is interested in;
Some of the items selected need to be named, so he has a field where he can type in the name;
Once the salesman has entered all of the client's order (or quote), he hits submit.
Now here is where it goes over my head.
The results of the order, as typed in, are exported to a Word document, which has been pre-formatted with our colors, logo, etc. The finished product is a professional-looking document that can serve as either a proposal or an agreement.
The document is automatically emailed to the client, and can be printed right from the client's computer. Instant good-looking document.
Am I dreaming? Can this be done in Dreamweaver or using another prodcut that you might know about?

It's possible, but speaking from experience it is not a path that I would recommend a business to take. Here's the reasoning behind this. While it is good to make these nice looking quotes and other documents, are you planning on storing the information in a database or in some way that would be accessible to your invoicing system (or are you building the invoicing system? if so that is a completely different beast). Having these are nice, but if the quoting system is separate from the invoicing system, it is a path that most businesses, and especially sales people, want to avoid. It would be creating an extra unnecessary steps in their process.
My suggestion to you would be that you if have the programming experience and want to undertake the job go for it. Dreamweaver won't program this for you though. So if you don't have the experience there are plenty of invoicing/quoting/sales solutions out there for .NET, PHP or whatever programming language you wish to use. Off the top of my head for PHP, SugarCRM comes to mind. I am pretty sure they have some invoicing modules, plus it is a CRM so your sales people can keep track of who they meet.

Pre Formatting a widget

I am planning a site with several pages, about 20, where I would like to place a News Feature Widget on each page.
I've tried putting the widget in the master, but unfortunately it seems like once I go to design a page, that widget is not avaiable to edit.
So my next option would be of course to place that widget on every individual page, however, I'd like to pre-format the widget so that everytime I place it, it has all the same styles everytime (background color, Rollover states, font styles, etc.).. I haven't been able to find any instructions on tutorials, and I am not even sure if this is possible.
In the event it's not, can a CSS be created that can cover all the different elements in the widget?

Problem in Formatting Total Column in Classic Table

Hi,
I am using Classic Table.
I am able to format the column data but i am unable to format the column total value. I searched in forum and tryed something like in the following thread..

since i am using Classic Tables i am unable to do it.
I also tried the following
OATableBean table = ....
OATotalRowBean totalRowBean = (OATotalRowBean)table.getColumnFooter();

Conditionally Formatting One Column Based On The Value of Another Column

I have the following requirement:
I have 2 columns in a report showing Actual Sales & Budget Sales each year. I am using a bar chart to show the different values for these 2 columns.
I need to conditionally format the column "Actual Sales" so that if it is less than the "Budget Sales" it will appear in red, and green if "Actual Sales" is greater than "Budget Sales." So in a nutshell,
CASE WHEN "Actual Sales" < "Budget Sales" THEN
RED
ELSE
GREEN
END
Thoughts anyone?

Is it possible to make a condition for formatting multiple column?

I am working on financial report like Balance Sheet. So that I am going to have 2 column and 1 on left, 2 and 3 on right.
I tried to use format multiple columns but can't find any method to define where to break.

when you create a stored procedure or use a command file( i believe) you can create CASE statements
CASE WHEN ='BLUE' THEN 'COLUMN1'
WHEN ='GREEN' THEN 'COLUMN2' END AS BUCKET1
when you use this as the dataset you will see this as a field
you can then group by the fields created.

Pre Formatted Code

I need to display the code used for a form as part of a tutorial yet when I put the asci version of the code in to a text item in Portal v1 it converts it back to standard code and I end up with a form instead of a viewable rendition of the form code.
Example I type & lt; and when applied portals converts it to < in the code.
I tried to use <pre> tags around the code but this does not work. So I'm hoping someone has a suggestion.

can you explain what do you mean by HTML string? is it binary data that you have?
if it is a binary data i.e. in bytes then you can do this way also..

Formatting for columns in group above report(non grp col)

I have a report that is group above. So for every record that appears in the group above, below is the corresponding fields. What I am trying to do is apply formatting like font, hide/show etc to the rows below. How can I do that.

Like you did select * from ....(select....)... In reports I wasnt able to create a col to col link for such cases. I need to have the db columns directly in select.
Secondly, for a workaroudn i even changed that - next challenge was treating xmltype columns using xmlsequence as db columns. So if I have xmlsequence in my query, i cant create col to col link. I have 4 queries with unions. 2 have xmlsequence and 2 doesnt. When i create col to col link for cases with xlseq, it forces me to create a grp link... When i have queries without xmlseq, i can create the col to col link.

Is it possible to change an existing PDF from brochure format (2 columns) to single page?

I have an old PDF, but not the source document. It is in two-column format, that is, two pages of text on one PDF page. I've tried converting to Word in Acrobat Pro XI, but that still preserves the two-column format. It's too big and complex to reformat in Word. I'd like to simply have each of the columns on their own page.

You can copy the page and crop the left and the rigth column.

Is there a preference to one or the other?

lableFunction can be used when the tweaking required is very
trivial and you want to modify some text getting displayed.
(custom) itemRenderers can be used when we want to display
something complex within a cell like few controls, icons, labels,

Formatting a column in numbers

I am using the travel planning template in numbers. I tried to enter a 10 digit confirmation number but it is being displayed in a format similar to scientific notation. I tried adjusting the column width. Can anyone please tell me how to adjust the formatting to allow for this type of a data format?
I am using a new macbook with mac os x 10.5.4

We may add the ZERO WIDTH NO-BREAK SPACE ($FEFF) at the end of the "number" so, it will keep its leading zeroes and don't be displayed in scientific format.

ALV Excel Output - Formatting of Columns

Hi guys,
I have a requirement to format the date column output from an alv grid to a spreadsheet.
The date in the alv is 01.01.2007 and they want this to appear as 01/01/2007 in the spreadsheet. I noticed in SE16N that this functionality exists, as the date in the spreadsheet is seperated by /.
The bespoke report is currently using the standard SAP FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
