Alternative to SVG Viewer

Hi All,
Apparently Adobe is removing support for the SVG Viewer from Jan 2009 . We require this installation to use Visual Composer . So can any one let me know what is the alternative for the same ? I have searched the sdn and net for this solution , but havent found one...

stopping the support does not mean it will not work anymore.
Maybe someone knows, but with Visual Composer 7.1 does we need it anymore ?

What is the Alternative/Comparable Product for Adove SVG Viewer?

Once Adobe will discontinue its SVG support at January 1, 2009 - SAP will be responsible for all support issues of this Viewer.
The link to download the Adobe SVG Viewer will remain at the Adobe site until January 1, 2011.
After Adobe removes the option to download the SVG Viewer, SAP will provide a solution so that Visual Composer will no longer require this viewer.

Adobe to Discontinue Adobe SVG Viewer

Hello,
I saw the following message on the Adobe website :
"Adobe customer support for Adobe SVG Viewer will be discontinued on January 1, 2008."
We are using Application Express 2.0.0.00.49 with SVG graphics and Internet Explorer 7.0, what would be a recommended alternative SVG viewer ? What does the Apex Team intend to do regarding this deadline?

Application Express 3.0 includes support for Flash Charts which you can use instead of SVG.

Adobe SVG Viewer de-support

I'm a relative newbie on ApEx 2.2, so I apologize if this seems to be a silly question.

Since my organization is extremely conscious of using products that are completely supported and available, what options to I have for an SVG plugin? We are primarily using IE version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050301-1526. What are the steps required to deinstall the Adobe viewer and install the alternative?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is a a new decision from Adobe.
Adobe to discontinue SVG Viewer support starting from January 2007
We are currently researching alternatives, because Internet Explorer does not have native SVG rendering at the moment your best course of action is to stick with the Adobe SVG viewer. APEX outputs W3C standard SVG so any SVG viewer should be usable.

And Microsoft seems to have dropped their plans to natively support SVG
in IE 7.x as well. I searched site today and could not find an answer,
and blogs not they think it will not happen.
So I was going to ask APEX development team.... sticking with SVG guys??

Does safari 6.0.4 need and svg viewer?

I am visiting a website and part of the site provides graphics. The graphics do not show up but the area where they should be tells me I need to download adobe's svg viewer. The website it takes me to is within Adobe but has no downloads for MACs plus it states that Adobe no longer supports SVG viewers. The information I have found is all dated years ago. What kind of questions should I ask the web site developer to find out why their site does not work in Safari?

Quit Safari.
Hold the shift key down and relaunch Safari.
Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the box next to " Remove saved names and passwords".
Click "Reset".

SVG Viewer not working

I installed Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2.0) and the HTML Server and HTML DB from the companion CD.
I then started looking at some of the examples and even create a quick application myself based on a single table. Any time I wanted to look at something that used an SVG Chart, I didn't see it, but rather a message telling me to install SVG Viewer. So I installed it (3.03).
When it still didn't work, I checked my browser version (IE 6.0.2800.1106) and according to that, I believe it should be able to work.
I noticed there was a new version of HTML DB (1.6.0.00.87) so I downloaded that and ran it to upgrade my installation.
Still no go.
One thing to note...if I go to the adobe test page, it works correctly.
Is there a security setting that is preventing this from working in any HTML DB app?

Hope you get the problem figured out. We've had some really weird sessions with IE as well. As I recall though, deleting the previous version and reinstalling got it to work for us. Took me some significant time and since getting it to work, I'm a little dismayed by how easy it is to break the plugin. An example of this would be having and & in the name of one of the descriptive fields. This breaks it immediately. Several other problems have surfaced, but i just get weird error messages that give very little direction as to how to fix it.
It's impressive when you have to display the data graphically though. Our admins loved it. (When it works.. :)

SVG Viewer Error

Hi,
I've been getting the folliwing error with SVG viewer:
XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </svg>.
Any idea what this is??

SVG means Scaler Vector Graphics which run to XML standard, this has to be "well formed" and REQUIRES opening and closing tags.
That error is saying that it is finding the opening <svg> tag and cannot find the closing </svg> tag, thus rendering the svg code as not XML compliant and creating the parsing error.
ie.
<svg>
<childtag>
<anotherchildTag>info</anotherchildTag>
..etc
</childtag>
..etc
</svg>(this is missing producing your error)This can happen when you first enter a page with a graph on it that uses page items which haven't been initialised yet.
It doesn't matter if you have entered a default value on the item, when the Graph reads the items value, the default hasn't been set.
I'm guessing here, but I think it produces svg code that is too long and the end tag gets lost. when the parser trys to parse it, the first thing it finds is no closing tag.
To get round it you can use a computation that fires before header to set the default values on your referenced page items.

のページを開いたところ、一度だけ仕様許諾ダイアログが表示され、以後は表示されなくなりました。
ただ、先に SVGがあるページ開いてしまうなどすると、SVGのコンテンツがある度にダイアログが表示されてしまうようです。

is svg viewer essential for editing forms

Is SVG viewer necessary to to enable a devloper to edit the forms,
I have a issue where i am unable to run svg viewer and so i am not able to use all editing functions on the toolbar.
Is it because of svg viewer not installed .

I work for Ford and need to download SVG viewer 3.0 ....

but on the page that im redirected to, there is no download at all. I cant find one anywhere as the page from Ford suggests in their instructions. I have done this before and have never had this problem. I had a hard drive crash and installed a new one, now i cant view EVTM's that i need.

SVG Viewer 3.0 and Oracle XSL Servlet

We have a small application that creates SVG graphs through the XSL Servlet. After upgrading the SVG Viewer to 3.0, the graphs stop working. I have searched metalink for any compatibility issues, but haven't found anything. Anyone else run into this issue?

Change SVG Viewer?

Having a bit trouble with Adobe SVG viewer on speed and some rendering of legend titles in line chart, I would like to try out other SVG viewers.
How to do that?
I have downloaded and installed for instance AfterCAD, deinstalled Adobe, removed the call to the plugins.js which checks for SVG Viewer presence, but nothing happens when I try to render the charts?
Any ideas? Can it be done? Or is Adobe 'hardcoded' in Apex?

Never got it to work with 3.0 ( i imply windows, maybe on linux it works as advertised).
With Beta 6.0 it works at least ( i personally prefer the native SVG support however).
There is a little outdated ( but i think still valid ) discussion on this thema.

SVG Viewer for a Vista-PC

Hi everyone,
i just got a new notebook running with vista. in the apex-apps there are some SVGs but as i have seen there are no vista support by adobe; even worse they will end this service at the end of the year. Due to adobe this wouldn't be necessary any longer as the new browsers are able to display SVGs.
Unfortunately i couldn't get those SVGs neither with IE 7 nor with FF 3. Has anyone an idea what to do?

No answer. Does this mean that there are no other svg-viewers than this from adobe which is no longer available?
This would be a big disadvantage because as we in Germany say a picture reveals more than thousand words or figures.
Is there an alternative to svgs?

SVG Viewer for Firefox

Hello.
I'm using the virtual machine developers OTN Days, specifically, the problem is I have to use the performance of the enterprise manager option, ... nothing appears (Baseline NameSYSTEM_MOVING_WINDOW). I read that the fault may be because SVG Viewer for Firefox. But ... do not know how to fix it. Has this happened to someone? You know how I can fix?

It's best not to install plugins which are no longer supported. They can be a threat to your employer's network security.

thanks for your idea but the environment I'm working in is designed to support IE and is optimized for the use of the Adobe feature. By using the IE the SVG graphics can be saved as *.svg in a dedicated folder but not so by using Firefox. The graphic window area shows no content. The file can not be downloaded.
An additional issue is - may be - that I'm working on my home device with LINUX instead of Windows (where everything works).
