Alternative ways to transfer my contacts from one phone to another.

My old phone is a Curve 8310 and my new phone is a Torch 9800. The reason for the new phone is the pins where you plug the USB cable into on the 8310 broke. So can't charge it or connect it to my computer to get my contacts out to transfer to my Torch. Is there a way to get this information out via the Bluetooth or with the mini SD card?

You can share songs, but if there is DRM protection on the song, it will not play on the other device unless you also transfer the rights to the other device. You are getting into the problem of music piracy.

I have recently discovered that most of my personal contacts have been synced with my work's MS Outlook. This brings two issues to me if I ever had to change jobs and hand over my laptop - 1) My personal contacts will be shared with an unauthorised audience, 2) If they delete my account I will never have access to my own personal contacts as well.
I tried to see how I can transfer contacts from one group to another but I can't seem to get the hang of it. Can anyone help, please? All I need to do is associate the contacts that have been associated with my work's email account to one of my personal accounts.

If you use an online syncing service for managing your contacts then you can simply clean up the contancts on one installation, and the changes should update on the second installation immediately. This will only work if you use iCloud, Gmail, or another service for storing your contacts.

Your contacts should be on your computer.
You should have been syncing them with your computer from day one.

One of my most urgents feature requests, but not yet there. I suspect it it mostly due to the fact that each object in CP needs its own unique ID, and that makes transferring advanced actions that do often reference objects pretty complicated. Nevertheless expect, hope that it will be possible in a future release.
Only way to transfer advanced actions is using a template as I demonstrated in this old blog post:

Your project has to be based on that template to have the advanced actions available. There is no apparent way to make a template out of a CP-file, but usually just changing the extension of the CP-file from cptx to cptl will provide you with a template
Of course you have to be very careful with the ID's as I started to explain.

Transfer data allowance from one phone to another?

Hi Guys, This is my first post (ever). I've just recently switched to a Telstra Plan and I've run into my 1GB data usage limit. Which is fair enough. However one of my collegues has a 20GB data usage limit that he never comes close to fully using. Is there any way currently (or could there be in the future) where he could transfer some of his allowance to my phone? I've seen the thread regarding adding shared data to consumer plans - and I think that's great and definately a step in the right direction. Actually, seeing how people have acted on that has encouraged me to post this (and hopefully I can get a similar result). I know people transfer credit between phones - so why not data allowance? See that's no help at all - and feels like you're delibertly avoiding my point and misdirecting me (with a smile) down a path I want to avoid. Its actually not very helpful to simply sound helpful and avoid the issue. Personally, I'd prefer a straight "No, thats not possible." with possibly "Here's why its not possible.". That has more honesty and integrity. I do appreciate you taking the time to reply - but an answer like that is wasting both of our time. I suspect you'd agree privately. I don't want a datapack. Between myself and my wife, we're already paying for 7gb of data. I just want to pool that allowance between us. Sounds reasonable, doesn't it? Now you can tell me No (which is fine). Maybe you can tell me why (which would be great). You could tell me you're taking it seriously and working on bringing it to market (which would be fantastic). But please don't tell me to spend more money on a datapack.

What you would do is on computer authorize other account for that computer. So you computer is authorized to play both accounts. Then you can sync apps from both accounts to your phone using the same computer as before.
My wife and I both have our own accounts and each of our instances of iTunes have authorized each others accounts for that computer. So I can sync her apps and she can sync mine. Just becomes a pain when you update an app via the cell phone when updates come out as trying to do all at once usually fails if the apps for updating are for each account. So have to do one at a time or just have them update via iTunes and sync.

Depends on how big the file is. If itis only a couple of pages, or mostly text, the easiest way would be to e mail it. If it is a very large file you are going to need wifi. Take both pads to starbucks, and e mail it from there. Or if you have wifi, use drop box, for example.
Your other choice, avoiding wifi would be a bluetooth type transfer. There is an app call bluetooth file lite that reads like it will do what you need. The good news is it is free. The bad news is that it has terrible ratings. For grins, i am installing it now on a pad and a phone, and will see if it works.
With a bluetooth method, you need both devices in the same place. If you are trying to send your file across country, bluetooth will not work for you. you need e mail or drop box type solution, and if the file is big, you will almost certainly need wifi.
