    Hi,
    We are using oracle dev. 10g suite based web application.
    This is an application migrated from oracle forms & report 6i.
    It's working fine except printing report in character mode. When we run the report then preview is Ok but in printing format becomes wrong.
    I means printing is not same as preview.
    Can any one help me on this situation.

    you can solve this problem by using oracle remote printing utility(orarrp)

    The PowerPoint prsentation files posted from last Fall's Oracle Life Sciences Users Group Meeting (9/10/03) illustrate an Oracle BLAST Web Application. Now that 10g is available on some platforms, I would like to know if Oracle has plans to distribute this BLAST tool. Thanks.

  • Problem in oracle 10g release 2

    I faced strange problem while selecting data from join of tables (in oracle 10g). While selecting, when the order of fields in "group by" clause is changed, the resulting summary of values is changed too. For eg,
    query1 = SELECT F1, F2, F3, SUM(F4)
    FROM TBL1
    GROUP BY F1, F2, F3, F4
    query2 = SELECT F1, F2, F3, SUM(F4)
    FROM TBL1
    GROUP BY F2, F4, F1, F3
    The results SUM(F4) given by query1 and query 2 do not match. While testing these querries in differnt environments, we found such problem in ORACLE 10g RELEASE 2 only and not in ORACLE 10g RELEASE 1. I need to execute this query in oracle 10g. Can anybody help me finding the exact problem?

    The results SUM(F4) given by query1 and query 2 do not matchSince the group by clause is not same, the result of sum can be different.
    Can you provide us some dataset ?

  • Oracle BAM Web Applications not supported by Firefox and Chrome browsers

    Hi,
    1) To enable Oracle BAM in a BPM project, when a project data object is marked as a business indicator, the Process Engine stores
    its value in the BAM and DataMart databases, as explained in the documentation. So, How can we use this information to monitor the process activity? Is there any detailed documentation or a sample?
    2) Does Oracle BAM Web Applications still not supported by the browsers Firefox (3.5 and 3.6) and Google Chrome?
    Tahnks. Regards,

    Hanine,
    The business indicators can be used when creating your data objects in BAM Architect and BAM Active Studio.
    The BAM tools still require Internet Explorer only.

  • Free web hosting for PHP Oracle 10g XE applications

    Hi guys
    I am a student currently completing my final year project of a BSc Information Systems / Computer Science programme. I am using PHP and Oracle 10g XE and I was hoping that someone could advise me on a good web hosting site for student applications that is available at no cost, since I can't afford to pay for hosting. It is important that I host my site because my university tutor (in the UK) needs to access my site and provide feedback at this point in the project. Any assistance will be very much appreciated.

    Just to let everyone know, i will do free hosting for students needing it for there projects, i will need an academic email address for corespodence, so thats a .edu or .ac.uk for example.
    I have just relaunched the website and slashed my prices, so starter packages are from 2.99 a month for oracle and php. www.phporaclehosting.com

  • Open cursors problem- j2ee + oracle 10g

    Hi,
    I am using EJB on sunOne application server 8.1., Oracle 10g DB.
    EJB container connects to Oracle DB through a set of connection pools.
    BMP for all entity beans.
    I have about 160 PL/SQL functions that make up the business logic of the online application. everytime the application runs, I get an increasing number of open cursors, including some of the ones that are explicitly closed within PL/SQL (inspection with sys.v_$open_cursor).
    I made sure all CallableStatements, PreparedStatements, RecordSets within the beans are closed and set to NULL. All PL/SQL functions use explicit cursors, so every select statement is managed within a cursor which is explicitly closed when the function finishes with it.
    From v$open_cursor, I identified the sessions with the cursors still open, and issued (ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION sid, #serial) for each of the sessions (this is done via a PL/SQL function for all inactive sessions).
    These sessions have state INACTIVE, and wait_class IDLE. This has Killed all sessions, but I was not able to use the application anymore. I suspect by killing those sessions we have also caused the connections between EJB container and the Oracle DB. The only way to use the application now is to stop and restart the sunONE domain this is very inconvenient.
    Has anyone encountered a similar problem? any suggestions to reduce or eliminate the open cursors number? Please help.
    Thank you all

    Maybe you can try to have a smaller steady-pool-size and idle-timeout-in-millis for your connection pools.
    Also, if that's at all possible, have smaller number of connection pools being shared by more apps.
    Just my 2c.
    thanks.

  • Oracle 10g AS application and Internet on LAN

    We have developed an application in Oracle 10g DS
    and deployed that application in Oracle 10g AS environment.
    25% of our users use Internet on LAN provided thru Proxy Server so
    they have the Proxy setting in their browsers.
    So our application does not run on these computers,
    even, we have put the address of our application server in the browser
    setting so that it does not use proxy for this local address.
    We can browse Application Server thru its name like http://erp
    and it displays application server welcome page but when we enter application address like:
    http://erp.plantnet.com/forms/frmselvlet?config=isc
    Browser page status bar shows the name of the application but following error occurs:
    Error on browser page:
    java.lang.classNotFoundException:oracle.forms.engine.Main
    Error on status bar:
    load: class oracle.forms.engine.Main not found
    What can be the solution????

    Hi,
    the problem seems to be within the proxy server you use. Obviously it cannot download the f90all_jinit.jar file (used with Forms 10g and 9i). Try and request
    http://erp.plantnet.com/forms/java/f90all_jinit.jar
    if this doesn't download the jar file, check the proxy checkings

  • Password problem in oracle 10g after upgrading from oracle 9i

    Hi to all,
    i'm migrating oracle 9i to oracle 10g. in oracle 9i username/password are same character(eg kareem/kareem)
    after upgrading to oracle 10g will it create any problem. Because in oracle 10g the condition is when creating user is username and password should not contain same character (kareem/kareem not allowed).
    Thanks in advance

    in oracle 10g document, they have mention below condition to create user. See the second condition.
    • Passwords must be between 4 and 30 characters long.
    • Passwords cannot be the same as the user name.
    • Passwords must be from the database character set and can include the underscore (_), dollar ($), and pound sign (#) characters.
    • Passwords cannot be Oracle reserved words.
    • Don't start the password with a numeral.
    • Don's use change_on_install or manager as passwords, since they are used by Oracle.
    As i'm going to upgrade oracle 9i to 10g. if it give problem because username and password are same then i have to request my development team to change the password in their application.Can you please verify and tell me.

  • Problems access to a web application (Web Interface or Web report)

    Hi,
    We found problems with the access to web application. Some users have problems with direct links to the web applications(Web Interface or Web reporting), when they click on the link an error message appears, the message displays the following text:
    "Cannot open file Bex?sap-language=ENbsplanguge=ENcmd=idoc_TE.."
    Clicking in details the message is "No Access to specified file"
    For this users the access to excel reporting is correct, the message appears when they click on the direct web links through the browser or directly in BW system, but if they type the URL they can access. Other users can use the direct web link without problems.
    I highly appreciate any help or idea about how to solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

  • A web developer problem while running a web application

    Hi all,
    I'm novice to J2EE.
    I've encountered a problem while accessing the deployed module in weblogic 8.1 server.
    I'm sure that the webapplication module is deployed as i saw my module in administration console & also the status said that it is deployed.
    when i access my web application by specifying the proper server and port no and context root it is showing
    either 505 - resource not found error(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh) or 404 - not found error.( http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh)
    Now let me elaborate what i've done till now.
    My webapplication folder structure is : C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
    My servlet is ServExamp.java
    I created a folder called "Suresh". In that folder created another folder called "WEB-INF". In WEB-INF created a folder called "Classes".
    Since my servlet is in package "Sai", the .class file reside in \Suresh\WEB-INF\Classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
    The source code is :
    package Sai;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class ServExamp extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse res)throws IOException
    PrintWriter out=res.getWriter();
    java.util.Date today=new java.util.Date();
    out.println("<html>"+"<body>"+
    "<h1 align=center>HF\'s Chapter1 Servlet </h1>"
    +"<br>"+today+"</body>"+"</html>");
    Now i'm almost done creating a web application. Next, I constructed a simple web.xml descriptor that gives a web friendly name for my servlet, and points to the servlet. I constructed web.xml descriptor file in the WEB-INF folder (C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\).
    The web.xml file source is :
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
    <web-app>
    <display-name>Hello World Web Application</display-name>
    <description>Test Servlet</description>
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>ServExamp</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>Sai.ServExamp</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>ServExamp</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/Suresh</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    </web-app>
    Now I have told Weblogic that the URI /Suresh corresponds to my servlet "Sai.ServExamp".
    My Web Application is ready to be deployed at this point. I logged onto Weblogic's admin console,
    1) clicked on deployments, then navigated to "Web Application Modules" .
    2) Clicked "Deploy new Web Application Module"
    3) Navigated to the location of your web application folder (Suresh). There was a radio button next to it indicating that I can select that folder as a valid web application.
    4) I Clicked that radio button and clicked "Target Module".
    5) It informed that my web application "Suresh" will be deployed to myServer.It asked a name for my web application deployment. By default it was "Suresh"
    I clicked Deploy.
    6) After deployment, my web application "Suresh" appeared in the "Web Application Modules" tree on the left.
    I Clicked on "Suresh"( my web application) then clicked the testing tab, then clicked the link shown there(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2).
    It was not showing my servlet (showed a 403 error)
    Error - 403
    This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
    I think so it came b'coz I don't have an index.html or index.jsp page.
    7)Instead,I added my servlet on to the URL it provided.
    http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh
    It is showing these error code: Http: 505 resource not allowed
    The page cannot be displayed
    The page you are looking for cannot be displayed because the address is incorrect.
    Please try the following:
    If you typed the page address in the Address bar, check that it is entered correctly.
    Open the localhost:7001 home page and then look for links to the information you want.
    Click Search to look for information on the Internet.
    when i just type : http://localhost:7001/ -> Error 404 not found error
    it's showing
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    I want to run my web application & any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    with regards,
    S.SayeeNarayanan.
    Note: I even deployed my war file, which i got by execution of (jar cv0f webapp.war . ) command from the root directory of my web application i.e. Suresh
    Then executed my webapplication it is showing
    error-505 resource not allowed.

  • Installation problem with oracle 10g release 1 in RHEL ES 4 platform

    Hi,
    I am facing such a problem. I want to install Oracle 10g release 1.
    I am using linux 86_64
    os is RHEL ES 4 UPGRADE 5 X_86_64
    When i put the command ./runInstaller It shows os is not supported.
    Is there any way to install this oracle version.
    Can u please suggest which version os is suitable for this.
    please suggest.
    Thanks & regards

    WHICH 10gR1 software do you use? Oracle provides different versions, you need 10.1.0.3 for Linux x86-64 from the OTN download page.
    By the way I would install 10gR2.

  • Problem with ClassCastException in web application

    Hello,
              I'm trying to deploy a web application in WLS 5.1 and I'm getting the
              "dreaded" ClassCastException every time when JSP tries to read a bean
              from the request or session. Under my architecture (actually it's just
              the regular "model 2" ) bean is populated by a servlet, set on the
              request and then retrieved by JSP (servlet forwards to JSP). Everything
              work fine when I register servlets in weblogic.properties, but
              ClassCastException is thrown on any attempt to read from the request if
              the same JSPs and servlets are deployed as web application.
              Has anybody come across the same problem?
              Thanks in advance for help.
              Alexander

    Hello,
              This is all well and good as a temporary bug, but it's totally unrealistic for
              the future. Two points:
              * The ClassLoader doesn't need to be discarded, it just needs to be cleared.
              * Other servlet engines seem to be able to handle this.
              Hope it's on its way to resolution!
