  • ALV Excel in-place in Portal

    Dear gurus,
    i wonder if:
    1) ALV Excel inplace can be used within portal
    2) if yes, what configuration steps I must maintain (if there is any document about it, could anybody point me to it?)
    3) if not, can anybody suggest any alternative? I need to have my Excels formatted (like using OLE or when I generate a XML Office file, but that would take me too long to create all the outputs one by one) and if possible opened from the portal. If that could not be done, my users would accept to save it first and open the file then.
    4) I need this functionality because on my portal the users access the standard ERP transactions (through ITS or WebGUI or how exactly that is called). If I could do any programming, I would use Office UI WebDynpro container, but obviously I cannot do that. That is the reason I look for some SAP standard way how to do this.
Thank you for your time and effort if you ave read this far:))¨

Looks like there is not real progress regarding this topic. Excel in-place is not supported in any GUI version except the SAP GUI for windows. For anybody who would struggle and waste time like me, please read here:

  • Max. no of columns in ALV Excel download

I've a problem regarding the download of data from alv report's that have more than 99 columns.
I have searched the forum but couldn't find a right answer.
It is being done by standard option and not by custom functionality is there any way where we can increase this limitation.

I don't know if there is a way it for more columns using that function.     But I suggest you to use excel inplace tool. With excel inplace users directly display and maintain values in SAP screen and they can save final document without any limits I think. Just go to change layout-> view and choose microsoft excel. To be able to display excel using this option macro security in installed MS Excel should be in low and VB script execution must be on.

  • ALV Excel in place formatting problem

    Hi All,
I'm running out of options with a particular problem I'm experiencing in ALV, and it i'm doing my head in...
    The Problem :
I'm using ALV Grid to create a report. The report is sorted on 4 fields of which 3 have subtotals.
The whole of the report displays fine in ALV but when I start Excel in place, after 75 lines or so, the export to the Excel sheet seems to get confused and initially starts repeating merged cells (which is not that big a deal) but eventually values are left out all together.
I'm not posting any code, as it does not seem to have anything to do with my code (after all it displays correctly in ALV).
What I have tried sofar :
-Replaced sap_mm.xls and sap_om.xls templates in BDS --> No luck, still the same problems.
-Display without subtotals and kick off Excel in Place --> Works fine, no values truncated formatting OK, but not as I want it !!!
-If I filter out the sections one by one,eg, C2ST by itself, L1ST by itself, the export seems to work fine.
I have linked in two files, which show the problem :
Here is a [Screen shot of the Original SAP list |http://www.geocities.com/adutchoz/alv_PROBLEM.jpg].
And here is the [Excel in Place file |http://www.geocities.com/adutchoz/ALV_Formatting_problem.xls] which is wrongly formatted. As you can see after line 75 the cell merge does not work anymore and from  line 100 it is leaving out Management Activity column values.
Has anybody else experienced these problems ? I'm interested to know this before I go to OSS...
Any feedback will be highly be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Wouter.

Did you get an answer to this? could you share a solution, please?

  • ALV - Excel download Date field sits in the last Column

    Hi,
I have custom ALV grid report using OOp . From the report i am exporting the results to an EXCEL, but the date columns in the report sits as last column the exported excel.
    Any idea ?
    Thanks
    aRs

That is the default functionality of the ALV grid, it collects all the similar data types together and then donwloads the data.
If you don't want that, you will have write code yourself and download the data

  • ALV Excel Download problem ( Special Character)

    Hi,
I am unable to download completely in XLS format from ALV grid. When i tried in couple of ways there is a special character( " ) in one of the filed. Due to the same Excel download has some problem. I tested by removing those and it worked fine,
Please suggest me to solve the issue.
    Thanks,
    Bhanu Gattu,

Data strings with special characters can not be downloaded into XLS format from ALV grid. In my case, I replaced the special character " with space and I could download the data into excel.

  • Is it possible to propose another default file name in ALV Excel Export?

    Hello All,
I have a problem while exporting to Excel from the WD ALV. The whole process works fine, the problem occurs when the user wants to open (without saving) multiple exported Excel documents at the same time. In this case he gets an error message, that the document with the same name has already been opened.
Therefore I have a question, is it possible to customize default file name, so that instead of 'export.xlsx' the file name will contain e.g. WD title&time (or something like that)?
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi,
It's the standard functionality. You actually have to enhance the standard method, which is not advisable as the same will be called in other applications as well.
So, Instead of that, hide the standard Export functionality and create a new Tool bar button, say, 'Export to Excel' and in on action of that button, use cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response ( and pass the file name by concatenating date/time) method to open/save the file.
Check this document to create a custom button in ALV tool bar: Creating Self-Defined Functions in WDA ALV
And, check this blog by Chris for code reference to have Export to Excel functionality: Using WD ABAP ALV export - the hacked way
    Hope this helps u,

  • ALV- Excel sign Pb

    Hi,
I got a sign problem when I change the display of an ALV. Amount signs are uncorrect in excel sheet.
    How could I resolve that?
    Thank you for help.

    Gregor,
Domain MENG13 (for mseg-menge) does not allow a sign (i.e. it is defined in the dictionary with the sign flag unchecked).  As stated in the F1 help for the domain checkbox for "Sign", "If the flag is not set but the field contains negative values, problems might occur during screen output."
Maybe the sign flag on the domain is being checked by the Excel download logic causing the sign to be dropped, or it could just be the version of Excel that you are using is not "smart" enough to convert your negative quantities into negative Excel values.
When you say "OO ALV grid" do you mean you are using CL_GUI_ALV_GRID or are you using the ALV Object Model CL_SALV_TABLE?  I will assume you meant CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.
I simulated your scenario using CL_GUI_ALV_GRID in ECC 5.0 by forcing an ALV field of type MENGE_D (same as mseg-menge) to have a negative value it_alv-menge = '1.000-'.  The ALV output showed the negative sign like this "1.000-" and the Excel 2003 output also contained a negative value.  This tells us that for CL_GUI_ALV_GRID in ECC 5.0 and Excel 2003 the problem does not exist.
I didn't find any SAP Notes that exactly match your scenario, but you can take a look at [Note 939815 - Spreadsheet download of fields with minus sign|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/939815].  It could be that you have discovered a problem that needs to be submitted as a customer message to SAP.  Or it could just be that the problem was fixed in a SAP patch or note that I didn't find.  Or as I suggested above, it could be an Excel issue.
I hope some of this analysis will help you out.
    Best Regards,
    Jamie

  • How to open ALV Excel Inplace in new window

    Hi everybody,
I have an ALV report which is used in Excel Inplace mode. However, I'd like to have Excel to be opened in a new window and not in the ALV container. I do not want to manually export my data to Excel as described in many discussions here on SCN, but I want to have exactly the same xls document opened that is generated by the ALV control. This is because I want to open the default XLS template uploaded into BDS filled with the data of the ALV grid.
I thought that getting the generated XLS using the Desktop Office Integration, i_oi_document_proxy->repoen_document would work (using open_inplace = space), but unfortunately this opens the excel template without data.
Does anyone have a soulution for this?
    Thanks and BR,
    Tamas

    var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.adobe.com"); navigateToURL(url, "_blank");
getURL/navigateToURLThis method uses the getURL (ActionScript 2.0) or navigateToURL (ActionScript 3.0) command to create a new browser window by targeting a new, blank window. This method is simple, works on all browsers, and requires no JavaScript. This method, however, it does not provide control over window location, size, scrollbars, or toolbars.    I guess something like this you needed?

  • Problems with ALV - Excel after changing from 640 to 710

    Hi all,
first i have to say, that i have tried to set this thread in the SAPGUI-Forum,
but i didn't get any answers, therefore i try it here.
I have changed our SAPGUI from 640 to 710. Now i get problems
    with ALV-GRID display.
When i change the output to EXCEL-Inplace i get the Error-Message:
    0K000
View cannot be switched: Product is not installed or integration is not active.
In 640 i don't have any problems. We have ECC6.
    When i use GUI710 and SAP 4.6C i don't have any problems.
Simple Test is possible with SE16N and change ALV output to excel-inplace.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks.
