ALV grid display-my columns are multiplying.
I have been searching for the solution for my small problem..So I hope this question hasn`t been asked before.
I have an ALV grid in a pop up display using 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
I have an input field on my screen that helps me display only certain keys on my alv grid.
When I input for example key 2 it shows all the correct products for that key 2.
When I try to enter another key....it shows the correct products but each column is duplicated. So each time I input something and hit 'Show' each column in that table is duplicated again.
Tried REFRESH, CLEAR my internal table....but I haven`t been able to make it work.
Did this happen to anybody ?

Sub columns in alv grid display
hi everyone,
can anyone tell me the way in which we can include sub-column headings in alv grid display. i.e., for example as shown below.
column1 column2 column3
scol1 scol2 scol3 scol4 scol5 scol6........................
thanks in advance. Here we are generating the column headings by using fm field catalog merge.

Maximum number of character we can print in a column uing ALV grid display
Hi frnds,
My requirment is to print 500 charcter data in a column using ALV grid display.
Could any body tell me is it possible and the maximum character it can i print in a column using ALV grid dispaly.
Regards,
SandipanHi Sandipan,
refer notes 857823, 910300 and 959775. All these say there is a limitation of 128 characters.
857823 - ALV grid: Strings with a maximum of 128 characters
Symptom
Entries in cells of the type CHAR or string are truncated after 128
characters in the SAP GUI.
also refer,
ALV Grid Control (cl_gui_alv_grid), function module (Full-screen) Grid
(Reuse_alv_grid_display, SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN), SAPGUI, back end, front end
Cause and Prerequisites
The data table that is sent to the front end only allows character values
with the length 128.
Solution
This is the standard system behavior and cannot be changed. -

Hi Guru's,
I am trying to display more than 500 charcters in a column using alv grid display but it in the output it is showing only 128 characters. Can you help me to display all the characters in particular column Or is there any limitation in maximum of no of charcters for a column?
Thanks,
Radha.Hi Paurl,
Define a work area say
wa_layout type slis_layout_alv.
then fill this work area as
wa_layout-zebra = X
wa_layout-colwidth_optimize = X.
wa_layout-max_linesize = 300.
Then in FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
EXPORTING
is_layout = wa_layout
etc.
you provided this for the field which is displayed in alv grid will have more than 128 characters.
from this code i want, how it refers to particular field.
when i mentioned field catalog-OUTPUTLEN = '300'.
it is not displayed the field morethan 128 characters.
it only displays 128 characters.
please provide me clear and breif information with suitable code.
i am trying what your sending but it is not displayed more than 128 characters.
if you don't mind please spend for me some time for this and

ALV grid display with more than 1000 columns
Hi Friends,
I have to prepare a report output which have 1015 columns.
User will give 100 weeks of data to retrieve. I have to display the output in day wise.
100*7 + 315 = 1015 columns.
I am using ALV grid display for this in 4.6C.
My Question is, whether I have to declare the output table type with 1015 fields.?
Is there any other way to do this, without declaring 1015 cloumns.
Please guide me to solve this.

Max number of columns in Alv grid display.
Is there any limitation on number of fields that can be displayed using alv grid display.
Please tell how i can display 199 fields using ALV.
Thanks in advance.I am not sure of the maximum of columns possible.
If you see the col_pos field in the field catalog table it can have only 2 digits. so i would assume it would be only 99 columns, but not sure.
Would get you more information soon.

Kindly help to develop alv grid display
Hi ,
I have a requirement in which I need to display ALV GRID display and in its tool bar 4 butons are required. In the same view down to alv display i want to develop a tabstrip and its functionalities.I have designed classic alv using SALV_WD_TABLE component. I want a good GRID Display, not like flat field names that comes in list display, looking for bulged fields(like what comes for ALV GRID in normal abap) display with print version etc hidden and buttons at the top of ALV. Edited by: Lakshmi Menon on Nov 27, 2008 4:49 PMWell Web Dynpro is generally output in HTML so the output formatting is never going to quite look like a desktop application (which is the case with the ALV Grid). You have very little control over the look of the column headers. In fact you can only manipulate what is available via the Portal Theme.
There is a new Tradeshow Plus theme available in NetWeaver 7.01 which uses a gradiant background for the column headers. This gives them a little more depth:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tjung/3068850120/
The other option is next year when NetWeaver Business Client version 3.0 comes out, you will be able to render Web Dynpro applications using the NWBC Smart Client Rendering. This will render Web Dynpro applications using desktop libraries instead of HTML/Browser. This gives Web Dynpro a more SAPGUI/Desktop appears of course.

Field Catolgue in alv grid display
Hi Abapers,
I need to display the percentage rows with decimals and other rows without decimal . Is their any option in field catalog to do like this. Or tell me any other alternative to achieve this.

1 220 100 20 100
2 320 120 50 150
tot 540 220 70 250
per 40.74 1.87 and so on
or ,
I have two different internal tables how can i put it in one field catalog to pass it to alv grid display.
Regards,
PriyaDon't do total by your self in the Pogram.
in the Fieldcatalog there is an Attribute which will do total & Average .
Enable it so that from one internal table data it self it will do good.

Below is an example ABAP program which will populate a simple internal table(it_ekpo) with data and
display it using the basic ALV grid functionality(including column total). The example details the main

Control of ALV Grid displayed on 2 screens
Hi all,
I'm working on a program that does the following:
1. Select option screen is displayed for user to query DB table.
2. Query results are stored in an internal table and displayed on second program screen within an ALV grid. Some columns in this grid are editable.
3. User edits columns in grid and selects rows to process. When the user pesses a button the data is processed and a third screen is displayed containing the selected and processed rows...again within an ALV grid.
All works well with one exception...I use one container and one grid to display the data on both screens. If I navigate to the second screen and then try to return from the second screen to the select option screen by pressing the BACK button all is good in the world...I go back. If I am on the third screen and I try to return to the second screen, again all is good, I return to the second screen. The problem is when I try to go back one more screen. It seems it takes me 3 clicks to get back to the select option screen at this point. Any ideas folks?Hi Ankur,
Let me give some more detail.
1. Each screen has a custom container embedded within it. I have defined one container handle and one alv grid handle in my program. I use a call to the custom container method link to point my container handle to the correct screen.
2. I call alv grid method set_table_for_first_display only...no call to refresh_table_display...as I insert a different table and layout in the grid on each screen.
3. I call flush after each call to set_table_for_first_display
4. Following are my pai events:
MODULE user_command_9000 INPUT.
save_okcode = okcode.
CLEAR okcode.
CASE sy-dynnr.
WHEN 9000.
CASE save_okcode.
WHEN 'CONVERT'.

WHEN 'BACK'.
SET SCREEN 0.
LEAVE SCREEN.

SET SCREEN 9000.

Again...the trouble is navigating from screen 9000 to 0 after I have already navigated from screen 9100 back to screen 9000 via the back button. If I am on screen 9000 and click the bakckbutton I end up on screen 9100 again. If I click the back button 2 more times, now, I end up back at the selection screen. Thanks. -
Dump when summing up CURR field in ALV GRID display
Hi All,
I am getting dump when I try to sum the CURR field in my ALV Grid Display. The field is of CURR 23. I am using classes and methods to display alv grid.
I tried passing <fs_fieldcat>-do_sum = 'X'. When I did this, it is dumping without even displaying the alv grid.
Here is the part it is throwing dump:
ls_lvc_data-value = space.
clear ls_lvc_data-style.
loop at it_fcat_local assigning <ls_fcat>
where tech ne 'X' and no_out ne 'X'.
if l_invisible eq 'X'.
clear l_invisible.
if <ls_fcat>-do_sum is initial.
continue.
else.
clear ls_lvc_data-col_pos.
endif.
endif.
add 1 to ls_lvc_data-col_pos.
assign component <ls_fcat>-fieldname
of structure <ls_data> to <l_field_value>.
_if sy-subrc ne 0.
message x000(0k).
endif._
Regards,
GuruThomas,

How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"MESSAGE_TYPE_X" " "
"SAPLSLVC" or "LSLVCF36"
"FILL_DATA_TABLE"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
