ALV Grid table output field label length
Hi,
I have a requirement to display output label with 60 char length. But as per the class - cl_salv_column_table, it is of maximum 40 char it is accepting. Please help me in displaying morethen 40 in the output label.
Note: Method :- set_long_text, is taking maximum of 40 char.
For your reference:
DATA: fr_column TYPE REF TO cl_salv_column_table.
ldf_scrtext_l = text-t15.
fr_column ?= lr_columns->get_column( 'MAKTX' ).
fr_column->set_short_text( ldf_scrtext_s ).
fr_column->set_medium_text( ldf_scrtext_m ).
fr_column->set_long_text( ldf_scrtext_l ).
Thanks,
Raman Reddy.
Hi Raman,
Why is it that you need to use that class only, you can use any other class or user defined. if you must use this class, please describe in what scenario you are using this class, so we can see the other options for your requirement.
Thanks
Srini.

Search help (PREM) for personal no. is not coming in ALV grid table control
hi experts,
Search help (PREM) for personal no. is not coming in ALV grid table control.
i have assigned the srch help (prem) to my 'ZFIEXP_PROJALLOC' table for the emp_id.
but in output it is now showing the help.
ls_fcat-fieldname = 'EMPLOYEE CODE'.
ls_fcat-ref_table = 'ZFIEXP_PROJALLOC'.
ls_fcat-ref_field = 'EMP_ID'.
ls_fcat-outputlen = '10'.
ls_fcat-key = 'X'.
ls_fcat-edit = 'X'.
ls_fcat-coltext = 'EMPLOYEE CODE'.
ls_fcat-seltext = 'EMPLOYEE CODE'.
append ls_fcat to pt_fieldcat.
clear ls_fcat.
Then i tried to solve it using the PA0002 . ie.,
ls_fcat-fieldname = 'EMPLOYEE CODE'.
ls_fcat-ref_table = 'PA0002'.
ls_fcat-ref_field = 'PERNR'.
ls_fcat-outputlen = '10'.
ls_fcat-key = 'X'.
ls_fcat-edit = 'X'.
ls_fcat-coltext = 'EMPLOYEE CODE'.
ls_fcat-seltext = 'EMPLOYEE CODE'.
append ls_fcat to pt_fieldcat.
clear ls_fcat.
with this it is showing the help in employee code, but, when i click on an empl number, it is not added to my table control and allowing me to add the number by typing them.
plz help me.
thanks.Hi
In the layout give layout-sel_mode = 'A'. and
pass 'A' to i_save exporting parameter to method set_table_for_first_display.
The same thing if you are working with function module
reuse_alv_grid_display.

Hide/Remove Subtotal Icon in ALV Grid report output.
Hi,
Is ther a way to remove or hide the Subtotal icon in the ALV Grid report output?
Thanks & Regards,
Praveen.Hi,
You can add names of the buttons(which you want to hide) to internal table and pass this internal table for tool bar excluding parameter while calling ALV.
Here as shown in below code, 'Sorting, Ascending,Descending' buttons are removed from the tool bar list.
data : lt_exclude TYPE ui_functions.
ls_exclude = cl_gui_alv_grid=>MC_FC_SORT.
APPEND ls_exclude TO lt_exclude .
ls_exclude = cl_gui_alv_grid=>MC_FC_SORT_ASC.

Help on ALV GRID display outputting format for 2 internal tables
Hi,
I have requirement in ALV GRID where I need to display the data from 2 internal tables. The first internal table has the content of Delivery due list data and second the internal table has the corresponding stock transfer data of the Delivery Due list. I have a checbox on my selection screen, when unchecked it should output the 1st internal table data, i.e for Delivery due list. When it is checked then it should output 1st Internal table data + 2nd internal table data of stock transfer. For example, 1 document delivery due list data and 2nd line for that document should show the stock transfer data. You can also check the transaction code VL10E for that will show a delivery due list...and for stock tranfer,you need to check with Purchase order in in the USer Role tabstrip. Pls suggest.

Dear Colleagues,
I develop an ALV grid with OO standard methods. Before the first display of the table I define the editable fields. It works fine.
I have a problem : if the table is empty and I press the standard icons "Append a line" or "Insert a line", the new line don't have the defined editable characteristics.for fields. Is there a standard method which I have forgotten ?
Thanks a lot and kind regards

Changing Field Label length for Data Element using ABAP code.
Hi Experts,
We have a scenario where we have to update the maximum length of the various Field Labels (Short, Medium, Long..) for a Data Element using ABAP code.
Does anyone know how to do this ? Is there a Function Module available for this purpose ?
Appreciate your valuable inputs.Hi ,
Use the view
DD03M
Give
TABNAME as table name,
DDLANGUAGE = EN / sy-langu
and order by position. (for correct sequencing)
You will get description of the fields (short,medium, long etc). You will also get the length and other details. -
ALV Grid OO : Set Field editable for selected rows
Hello ABAPers,
I used object cl_gui_alv_grid to created ALV grid and i succed to set an editable
field for all rows. However my request is to set it for and only for selected rows
I could get the row index but i didn't know how to use it
Thanks in advance
AmineHi Amine,
I think the standard SAP sample program might help you, BCALV_EDIT_02.
I will tell the procedure to make the selected rows editable on ALV.
1. Add a additional field of type LVC_T_STYL in the internal table that you are displaying in the ALV. LVC_T_STYL is a actually a table type.
2. Place a button on the ALV toolbar for EDIT/DISPLAY.
3. Once you press the EDIT button after selecting the rows, loop through the records which you have selected (you have already said that you have the index of selected records).
4. The table type LVC_T_STYL has fields for FIELDNAME and STYLE.
If you have 10 fields in the internal table, then all these ten fields name should be appended to the newly added field in the internal table (LVC_T_STYL) and their style should be populated with value cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_enabled.

ALV grid: up and down label in column.
Hi all,
i hope there is someone that can help me.
My question is: is possible to have an up label and a down label for each columns in ALV grid?
For example, i'm try to realize the same function of Excel that allows me to join cells.
Thanks a lots,
Alex.It isn't possible. The cells are treated separately.
You can create a container with an excel file and do it -
ALV Grid Display Editable Field Disables Zebra Style
Hi all,
First of all, I want to say: "I did my research." I found a post with a very similar question but not identically my case, or at least I can't solve it the same way. [Here is the reference post.|Re: Check box impact on ALV grid (Using OOPS)]
My Goal: I have an ALV Grid which I want to display using the ZEBRA style in the layout and also make one field in the field catalog editable.
My Issue: As soon as you make one field editable in the field catalog using the EDIT option, the ZEBRA style in the layout does not works. I also have key fields in the ALV Grid which I want to keep as KEY and which get painted dark blue.
I can't use the individual row coloring method used in the reference link above since this overrides the blue coloring of the key fields in the ALV. I haven't gone through all the effort of individually painting each cell on the grid, and honestly I don't think it is efficient.
My Question: Is there a way to have editable fields in the ALV Grid and keep the ZEBRA setting working?
Please, I will really appreciate if you can read and try to understand my issue before posting incoherent solutions or answers. I don't want to waste anybody's time nor mine.Shiva,
Thanks for your reply; it someway addresses what I am looking for. Unfortunately, I've already went through that reference code; it has exactly the same problem that I am facing.
If you take that code for example, and you throw it u201Cas-isu201D in your ABAP editor you'll see that even when the ZEBRA style is being used in the layout, since the EDIT option in the field catalog is being set for field NETPR, the ZEBRA style gets lost; only the whole editable column gets white. You can go ahead and play a little bit with that piece of code and you will see what I am saying.

ALV GRID with icon fields. When exports to Excel, icon fields are emtpy.
Hi all,
In our SAP system (6.0 ECC) we've noticed the following behaviour:
In ALV GRID with icons (color lights for example...) when we export the list to Excel format with the standard button bat, the icon column is always empty.
We think that in previous SAP version (4.7), the code corresponding to the icon appeared (For example @08@ for green light).
It's possible to have tha same functionality in this new version like in 4.7?
Regards.
Edited by: Ole ES on Nov 17, 2010 6:05 PMHi,
Check the format in which you export to Excel (MHTML, XML, ...) and try antoher one.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/66/79ad48157f11d2953700a0c930328a/content.htm
I think the integrated Excel mode shows '@08@'.

Add row to ALV grid highlighting mandatory fields
hello experts,
I am using grid object of cl_gui_alv_grid to display output table. Rows can be added to grid using Insert Row button of ALV toolbar (No custom button added here). The requirement is to highlight the mandatory input cells either with border or display them in different color.
This needs to be done immediatly after pressing the Insert row button, but before the row is displayed on the screen as ready for input ( NOT as a part of data validation on save or enter button).
I tried following method:
- I SET HANDLER event_receiver->handle_user_command FOR obj_grid.
- I am handling EVENT before_user_command OF cl_gui_alv_grid
- I thought of modifying CELLTAB of inserted row in this event to set display properties of required entry fields
However, the problem I am facing here is, Insert_Row button directly populates a row on display screen without triggering before_user_command event.
Is there any way I can highlight the cells of inserted row when it's populated on screen?Hi,
Indeed this event is not triggered for some standard function. Anyhow you could do some trick:
- hide standard insert row button
- add custom button with same icon on in
- then once you press it, you will be able to hanlde it in before_user_commnad event
If you want to stick to standard solution. maybe there is some flag which must be set with some SET.. or REGISTER... method. Unfortunatelly I am not aware of such switch.
