ALV List by calling SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID

Hi All
I want to display the output as a ALV List by calling method SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.
I see there is a protected attribute M_BATCH_MODE. How can I set this attribute to be true.
Or is there any other option through which I can get ALV List Output
Please note that I do not want the grid display

Let me say more as to what I am doing. Please have a look into DEMO_ABAP_OBJECTS_SPLIT_SCREEN. Where in, there are splitter containers CONTAINER_LEFT and CONTAINER_RIGHT (instances of CL_GUI_SPLITTER_CONTAINER). The ALV I am talking about in this thread is displayed in CONTAINER_RIGHT
Rob, are you sugesting not to use CL_GUI_SPLITTER_CONTAINER and use CL_GUI_DOCKING_CONTAINER or create a docking container object inside CONTAINER_RIGHT? Can you please throw some more light!
Also, one more point i want to stress, I want "ALV List" while running in foreground. I have check out

How do I tell the program to run in background for the purposes of this ALV alone?

    I would like create secondary list using ABAP OPPS (Events).
    Anybody can give me idea how to do that .
    On clicking of perticurar row + column. Secondary list should be displayed.

  • How to set the focus on the new added line in ALV list (OO)

    Dear Friends,
    I have an ALV list based on OO(using alv_grid->set_table_for_first_display), when I click the 'new' button to add a new line, the mouse arrow is always pointing to the first line - not the new created line for user to input!!.
    So how to set the focus (mouse arrow) on the new added line in ALV list for user to input it friendly?

    To get the selected line row first we have get all the rows in the internal table.
    When u click on the button when it is creating the new line we have to pass the row number to the call method

    I have had the same problem, and i found no solution on the forums... So i have implemented my own solution: I implemented a child class, in order to add a new method write_file. This coding creates a file on the application server, considering the field catalog from the choosen variant. It can be enhanced in order to get the sort and the filter criteria (but if the file is exported to excel, the sort and filter can be managed within excel). Such a program can be run in background, and it works perfectly!

    I think the earlier logic works fine . If the alv is implemented with Object Oriented concept then this example will be helpful.The user command can be handled before SAP handles it in the event before_user_command of cl_gui_alv_grid and after handling the event you can avoid further processing. I have done the same for the copy of standard program ERGP2020 and handled it .Here I did not go for any custom buttons but handled the standard SAP provided buttons.

    Hi.
    I have a problem with f4 help in alv list.
    There is a field in my alv list which have a domain. This domain has its own values in value range.
    I have found how to show f4 help according to system tables ( for example kunnr in kna1 ) but I need to show this value range values as f4 help in my alv list.

    I have encountered an issue which i am trying to resolve

    i am displaying one ALV list dispaly. for that im adding one check box fields by filling the fieldcat as below:
      wa_fldcat-checkbox = 'X'.
      wa_fldcat-edit = 'X'.
    but the check box is showing disable mode only. i want to display that check box and if i select that check box i want pick that records. for ALV grid i found one FM to pick records of selectedones as below.
