ALV OO - event receiver issue
Hi,
in my ALV 00 program i have several simular ALV grids (with the same layout, fieldcat etc). The handling of the double click event in the different ALV grids is handled by different event receivers ( but type ref to the same event handler class).
How can i see in the general event handler class, which event receiver reference has raised the event, so on which alv grid was the double click !
As i said the ALV grids are lookalike, but only the data is different. So for the double click event i should read different data tables.
Any one a solution ?

In my C# Event Receiver - I have to take an action after a particular date is reached (which can be several days/months).

Thanks so much.I think you'd be much better implementing a SharePoint timer job to do this. In your event receiver, you could update a property bag. The timer job can then read the property bag every 5 minutes (or at what ever interval you need) and take action based on
the date.
If you use sleep, it blocks the current thread from doing anything else, so no, you shouldn't do that! See: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.threading.thread.sleep(v=vs.110).aspx
You could look at Thread timers, but I don't know if that will working within an event receiver (I think a SharePoint timer job is more stable option) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/swx5easy.aspx

SharePoint 2013 event receiver error
I am currently working on a SharePoint online project. I am facing a strange issue. My code generates 6 documents
in 6 different document libraries along with other metadata. When I save data to a List, the event receiver fires and creates all the 6 documents. But sometimes it stops creating the 6 documents and left with 1 or 2 documents. Sometimes documents has been
created but without any metadata. The same code is working fine in my on-premises environment, but it sometimes breaks in the Office 365 environment. I also created a log list to track the issue as we cannot debug in Office 365. In the log list I found a error
message saying "Thread was being aborted." Below is my code. please help it is happening only in Office 365 environment.

SharePoint online 2013 event receiver error
I am currently working on a SharePoint online project. My code generates 6 documents in 6 different document libraries along with other metadata. When I save data to a List, the event receiver fires and creates all the 6 documents. But sometimes it stops creating
the 6 documents and left with 1 or 2 documents. Sometimes documents has been created but without any metadata.
The same code is working fine in my on-premises environment, but it sometimes breaks in the Office 365 environment. I also created a log list to track the issue as we cannot debug in Office 365. In the log list I found a error message saying "Thread was
being aborted." Below is my code. please help it is happening only in Office 365 environment.

In SP 2013 I coded an event receiver that intercepts the ItemAdded event and it just renames the file.
It is a synchronous event (I added <Synchronization>Synchronous</Synchronization> in the Elements.xml).

The problem is that when I upload a .txt file using Internet Explorer, just after the renaming is done, IE says that something went wrong and when I inspect the log files I see:

So it is clear that the fact that I renamed the file is causing an issue in the SharePoint upload logic.
As a solution what I did was to not declare it as Synchronous, but if I do it then there is another error when Sharepoint shows the Edit Properties dialog... in this case the upload is OK but when it is time to show that Edit Property dialog IE fails and
says that the file has been already modified, or that "something went wrong".
If I use a synchronous event I get one problem. If I use the asynchronous event I get another problem... It's very frustating and I am pretty sure that a so important API like Event Receivers should have support renaming files so I hope someone can tell
me what I am doing wrong.

Sharepoint 2013, event receiver to rename files not working
I coded an event receiver (ItemAdding) that renames for example a .txt file to a .text file (it does not matter the extensions, it is just an example). In my code what I do is to an SPFile.MoveTo operation. It works fine in SP2010 but when I execute
the same code in SP 2013, when the operation is done using IE I get the text "Sorry, something went wrong" and then "File Not Found".
In the logs this is what I see:

It's clear that the Sharepoint upload code tries to do things with the original name and it does not realize that it was renamed.
Can I do something from my event receiver code like using the AfterProperties to bypass this error?

I have some documents in document library with versioning ON. When i unpublish a document( in Source Library) i have to move that current version to other library(Destination Library). And i need to update a column (status) in Source as
'Unpublished'. I am doing all this in ItemUpdating Event Receiver. Moving from source to dest library is working perfectly fine. But the issue is while updating that status column. Its updating that column I am getting error

I think you are updating column prior to create item in library. If you have "status" column in Destination Library then make sure file is added before updating the status. If you have status column in same list then try with ItemUpdated event.

Can't access community members list in event receiver when item is updated in console application

we attached an event receiver to a list in a community site template. In the ItemUpdated event we access different lists from the site. Everything is working fine when we update a list item in the web frontend logged in as Administrator (application pool
identity Administrator).
Updating an list item in a console application running as Administrator triggers the ItemUpdated event and accesses all lists - only the Community Member list can't be accessed.

I was successfully able to deploy my auto hosted event receiver in office 365 and it was working. I did some changes on code and try to deploy it again but now it through same error always wheneven i deploy it.

I have tried same thing in different different environment. Different environment mean different azure account and office 365 account. But still the issue persists.
i feel some issue in my office network or in servers. Because couple of days back same thing was working in my private virtual machine in my private network instead of office.
For me i observe a basic problem in this network.
The pop up to provide trust to the app (that come with title "Grant permission to app") comes while i deploy the solution and gets close automatically without clicking trust.
Might be this could be the reason for me ?. because closing of pop up is not providing authentication to my app.
This happens in every server in my office network.

Event firing at item added and item updated in event receiver?
Hi All,
I have created event receiver on item added & item updated on document library.
1) On Item Added i am updating document library Title column with document Name and i have metadata for the file.
2) On Item Updated i am move that file with metadata to another document library.
Now the issue is the event is triggering is twice when an item is added it automatically calls the item updated event

Event Receiver ItemAdded MS CRM 2011

I'm playing with SharePoint 2010 and MS CRM 2011.
I developed simple event receiver on the document library which fire on ItemAdded and ItemAdding. Event receiver fire when I create folder inside SharePoint UI document
library and everything works fine.
Now, in MS CRM 2011 one of new feature is document management. MS CRM 2011 use SharePoint Foundation 2010 and create folder for each Account. In this case, when MS CRM
create folder in document library event receivers not fire.
Is there anybody who has some idea why?

Srivignesh JWhen you published your infopath form, did you promote the field you are trying to update to a property, and allow updates (its one of the steps in publishing your form, where you pick which fields you want to show as fields in the list view)...
Otherwise, how about get the Item.SPFile object, open it as XML, find the field you want to update, and update it that way... -
BPM -- Unable to deliver event 'RECEIVED' of object
Hi XI Experts,
I have completed a scenario depicting 'BpmPatternCollectMessage', where in IP is going to run with a infinite loop and when a Stop message is sent, IP should stop and tranform the messages collected to send it to target.
I have sent start messages and noticed that it is running in a infinite loop. And when I have sent stop message, it is throwing a warning "Unable to deliver event 'RECEIVED' of object" and is not stoping the IP.
FYI -- I have designed IP with a block of necessary branches. Block has two branches, one to receive a collect message in infinite loop and other to receive a stop message.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

I have a dialog that contains an ALV grid and three buttons. When the ALV grid is created, it's parent is specified as a custom container.

I would like the user to be able to just hit enter to accept the values displayed in the ALV. My problem is that when the dialog is created, the ALV has focus so the event isn't getting to the PAI of the dialog. If I click the mouse outside of the ALV to take focus away from the ALV, hitting the enter key does trigger the correct event in the dialog PAI. How can I either set the focus outside of the ALV when the dialog loads, or make the ALV forward the event to the dialog.

Mail 2.0 crashing when sending message and opening mailbox
I've had a weird problem for a few weeks now that I've finally replicated. I have about 7 accounts that are all active. Mail stops responding when I compose a message and click "send" and then go to another mailbox. It starts to open the mailbox, and
