ALV - problem in downloading to excel - HIGH

In our ALV report , we are facing problem with downloading to excel. It is intact downloading but in an irregular manner.
LIST-> EXPORT-> Local File(excel)
How to overcome this..

try to load like this
spreadsheet>press enter>pivot table-->microsoft excel

hi,
i have a file in the application server which needs to be downloaded into excel sheet and send it via attachment to outlook id's..
file is getting downloaded into excel sheet ( Via custom function module) and the attachment is being sent to the mail box, but the problem is everything appears in the first column..how to set the delimiters in excel sheet, i mean each field should appear in a separate coloumn...
format of the file in the application server
data: begin of dt_string occurs 0,
      data(150) type c,
      end of dt_string.
ex: dt_string+0(4) = 'name'.
    dt_string+4(5) = 'place'. .....
    append dt_string
     clear dt_string.
same way, each record is inserted into the dt_string and the table was transferred to the app server.

Add the thing in bold <b>WRITE_FIELD_SEPARATOR</b>.

Problem in Download to excel in ALV for WD4A.

I am using standard component SALV_WD_TABLE for geting the print Version & Export button as given in standard example WDT_ALV, in my developement. but i am not getting both the buttons.
Can any one tell why?

ALV: Problem in exporting to excel with too many columns

Hi,
While exporting from ALV report to excel following issue was faced:
ALV report contains 81 columns out of which 67 columns are displayed properly but from 68th column onwards data is dispalyed on next row
I want all columns displayed on single row..
Any help will greatly appreciated..

Hi Deepak,
I was browsing through these threads to find anwer for the same issue.
So thought of putting my analysis which helped me resolve my problem.
Analysis/Solution:
When we export ALV data to excel worksheet, as sap notes say the maximum lenght allowed is 1023 charaters and the max no of columns supported is 90.
(I never faced any issue related to no of columns as it worked fine for columns >90 too)
Issue occured when row size of exported data gets more than 1023 character.
Therefore the row data must not exceed 1023 character, otherwise column splits and moves to next row.
One additional aspect generally missed is that:
When data in any particular column changes it's length, alv header also changes its lengh (short text, medium text, long text; depending on the length of of the longest cell in the column)
therefore even if you have total length of row less than 1023 character, there might be cases when your ALV header size exceeds this length.

Problem in downloading to excel

while downloading from a customized report.(For excise related details)
HTML format is working fine but the problem is when using the excel sheet....only some 23 records were getting downloaded...
what might be the problem...

You can see "n" no. of post on this issue.
Try one simple method : Download the report in the format of .mhtml.
Open this .mhtml format saved file via Microsoft excel and save it as .xls or .xlsx.

Declare the type of tht field as 'CHAR'
or
prefix the value with a single quote ', excel will then treat the value as text.

Still having problem with downloading to excel two ITs

Three things I have to do are:
- to have leading zeros in excel - (wich I solved with DBF filetype - >> is there any other way ?) ,
- to append two internal tables one after another (to have them in one excel sheet), (did it calling two times FM )
- finally to download them in one excel sheet .
(Note, two internal tables are different ) .
I used WS_DOWNLOAD wich works fine with DBF filetype ,
BUT can not append two ITs with DBF filetype .
When using GUI_DOWNLOAD append works fine
BUT does not supports DBF filetype .
Which FM is best to acomplish these three things together using ONE FM ???

I allready tryied to use GUI_DOWNLOAD but it did not help

OBIEE-Values after decimal changing after download in excel format

Hi,
I have reports in OBIEE 11g,in which some columns have values in %.When i try the various export/download functions and noticed that the Excel download did not maintain the fomatting for pecentage values, they fields go out to about 12 decimal places or so.
For eg..if a value in report is like 12.54
After export in Excel it looks like 12.546780393345 .
As i want the same format,pls suggest the solution.

Facing problem while downloading ALV grid Output into Excel

Hi Guys,
I am facing problem while downloading ALV grid Output into Excel.
It is downloading into excel, but all character columns first and next all quantity columns it is displaying. But I need columns order as it is in the grid.
If I take all columns as characters it works fine. But it will be problem for calculating total, subtotals of quantity columns
Can someone help me regarding this

Hi,
Open up Excel on your desktop. Goto Tools > Macro > Security.
Make sure that your security is set to Medium (or less). SAP uses OLE automation to run the Excel instance and in Office 2003 (for example), Microsoft has increased their default security setting to High. With the High setting, the output to Excel fails.
Was this your problem? Don't forget those points, either.
check with this wetther it is solved or not.

Problem while downloading a ALV report to excel

Hi experts,
I have an ALV report which took long time to extract records from various table. So while there is some restriction the report can be executed well in foreground. And the report can be extracted well to excel sheet. But while there is hudge records, i have to execute the report in backgroung. And then from spool i generally prefers to download the report to excel.
There is a field UOM where it contains value ' " ' for some records. And also there may be possiblity that other fields can also contain the same.
Now my problem is: while download to excel... When ever there is a value ' " ' from this point to the next value ' " '. It is treating as one record. and keep that in a same position in the excel sheet.
But i want to keep all the values in there respective fields. Can you please how can i do that? Please give me some solution...

Facing a Problem while downloading the data from ALV Grid to Excel Sheet

Iam facing a problem while downloading the data from ALV Grid to excel sheet. This is working fine in Development server , when comes to Quality and Production servers I have this trouble.
   I have nearly 11 fields in ALV Grid and out of which one is PO number of length 10 , all the ten numbers are visible in the excel sheet if we download it from development server but when we download it from Quality or Production it is showing only 9 numbers.
Can any one help me out in this case.

if this problems happens dont display the same internal as u finally got.
just create new internal table without calling any standard data elements and domains... but the new internal table s similar like ur final internal table and move all the values to new int table.
for eg.
ur final internal int table for disp,
     data : begin of itab occur 0,
                    matnr like mara-matnr,
               end of itab.
create new like this,
           data : begin of itab occur 0,
                    matnr(12) type N,
               end of itab.

ALV Download to Excel Column Colors Problem

Hi Experts,
I've encountered a problem in downloading records from ALV display to excel file.
The file is downloaded SUCESSFULLY however. When I opened the downloaded file, some columns were filled up with color(yellow) and other fields are not.
Do anyone have an idea why?

I have 21 Columns columns. The first 16 columns are filled with yellow colors...

ALV download to excel problem

Dear Gurus a problem in alv report downloading to excel:
on executing the report works fine but when downloading to excel there last digit of bpvno is getting truncated.
ex: actual bpvno:'4000010' but excel o/p shows as '400001'
I have declared a field in final internal table as:

(in field catalog)
fieldcatalog-fieldname   = 'BPVNO'.
fieldcatalog-seltext_m   = 'BPV No.'.

I1 = I1 + 1.
but after specifying the REF_TABLENAME & REF_FIELDNAME the downloaded excel o/p is correct.
My questions is:
1) i want to know what all are mandatory fields to be specified in fieldcatalog & is it compulsory to specify REF_TABLENAME & REF_FIELDNAME .
if not complusory why the downloaded excel value is being truncated ???
plz dont send materilas on alv and answer specific to the question....

Problem in downloading ALV output in excel

Dear Abapers,
                       I am facing a problem while downloading alv output in spreadsheet. Report headers and data headings are coming in excle but contents are missing instead of that No Data is displaying on excel sheet. I have debug that and observed the deep structure name T_OUTTAB using by the FM ALV_DATA_EXPORT is empty, It should contain the contents of my output data.

Here I have given my code, which contain the building of field catalog and Calling ALV Grid. I have already checked the excel micros settings. Other programs are working fine on my system and downloading in excel is also working.
