ALV selection by default

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement for ALV done through OOPS.
I have a display of ALV with check box with some reocrds. When I select a set of records and navigate further to other screen and come back to the initial ALV output, how do we remain the selection that we made in the initial ALV output.
I mean when I come back to my ALV output, i should be able to see the records which i checked.

Hi Max..
Its working if I use refresh_table_display.
But get_selected_rows is not working for the second time when i navigate to different screen..as it does not retrieve the newly selected rows..
to clearly explain get_selecte_rows works fine first time, but not for second time with the same reference...
Please suggest me ...

ALV selection not displayed/shown

Hello,
I have a question concerning the ALV:
In NW 7.0 everything was fine and working, as of EhP1 the selection for one ALV is not displayed.
...the selection is done alright and also corresponding events are raised. Nevertheless there is no visual representation for a selection - meaning the yellow/orange highlighting of a selected line. It is neither done for the lead selection nor for "normal" selections.
Other ALV in the same application (though different component) work fine and as far as I can tell all are initilized similarly.
Does anyone know this effect and - most important - how to correct it?

Hello all,
We were able to solve the issue of selections not being visible - although they are correctly set in ALV/context.
-> The default view of the window has to be set to the ALV usage!
Don't ask me why, but in case the default setting is on the empty view, no selections will be visible on the UI. As soon as you set the ALV usage as default, the selections will be visible again.

How can I select the default greeting for a voicemail for the iPhone 4s?

I am wanting to set up the voicemail feature for my iPhone 4s. (I have had this phone for years but never enacted a voicemail!) However, I am having trouble. When I click on the phone settings in my phone, the only options I have in regards to voicemail is to set up or change the password. I am not given the option to set up a voicemail. Whenever I try to set up the voicemail by dialing *86, I am given only the options of changing my password or to set up a custom greeting. I am not able to select the default/standard greeting as it is not mentioned. I am wondering how I can go about this. I am not sure why I don't have the options already available in my phone automatically or why it is not provided as an option when I call to set it up.
Any help with this?

nnd217, Help is here! The 4S is a great device, sorry to learn that you are having trouble with setting up the VM default greeting. I should be able to shed some light on this situation. If you go to your phone icon, as if you were making a call, you should see the voicemail icon down at the bottom right. Once you select that, in the upper left corner there is an option that says Greeting, so ahead and select that. From there you have two choices, default and Customer. If you select default there will be a check mark in that box, then hit save. You should now have your default greeting in place. FREE check box in PO should be selected by default for specific material

Hi All,
We have a check box FREE in PO creation - ME21N in the item row which is selected when ever we want the vendor to supply those items as free.
- I have a list ot items which are supplied freely by the vendor which I have to mention in the PO. My requirment is when ever the specific material is in the PO the FREE check box should be selected by default. Is it possible?

I don't think there's such flag in the material master. As far as I know any material can be supplied either free or chargeable - the buyer has to choose the applicable option it in each specific PO.
If however in your business case certain materials shall always be supplied as free, then you can use the BAdI that I mentioned above to analyse which material is being procured and set the FREE flag in the PO accordingly.

How do I change the download behavior so that the "save as" radio button is selected by default instead of "open with" in the download window?

For most file types whose download behavior is set to "always ask" the "save as" option is selected by default in the download window. However, for a few others the "open with" option is selected instead.
Note that Firefox is not automatically opening some files instead of saving them. I still get to choose between saving or opening them, but certain file types start with "open" selected whereas for others "save" is the default.
What I'm looking for is a way to change all file types to default to "save as" in the download window.

A checkbox in a loop must be selected by default

Hi all,
There are two lists of checkboxes (in a loop), and one of the checkboxes list in the loop must be selected by default. I am trying to put the value of the checkbox to true but it is yeilding bizzare results... one of them being the checkbox doesn't get deselected sometimes...
Any help would be appreciated,

Even i have the same problem. Unable to figure that out. I have these checkboxes inside a loop and the name of the checkbox is being constructed dynamically using the loopIndex as follows

I am incrementing loopIndex by 1 for every iteration of the loop.
If i change the checkBox field name to be static (Ex: tempFields.checkBox_4_test) the checkboxes are being checked when the page loads..
Anybody any ideas as to why it is not working when using a dynamic field name.

How do I select a *Default* Browser?

Hello!
I have several browsers (IE 5.1.7, Mozilla 1.2.1, Opera 6.0.3) that I use for various reasons. I also use Eudora 6.1.1 for email. When I click on links within email documents (identified as http://... using the *Blah Blah* button), one of the browsers opens randomly (well, not quite. IE occurs about 50%, Mozilla and Opera about 25% each). I haven't discovered any pattern.
Is it possible within OS 9.1 to select A default browser that will always open automatically in this situation?
I will appreciate any help! TYIA!!

There is a setting for that. Open the Internet control panel, go to the Web tab. At the bottom of that page is the setting for default browser.

You still need someone to be able to change the variant, right? That is what exactly PROTECT VARIANT does.
If you select the field Protect variant, the variant can only be changed by the person who created it or last changed it.

How can I make PLAY button be selected by default in top menu?

Hi, I usually have the PLAY button and all the scene selection buttons show up in the same top menu on my DVD's. Is there a way to have the PLAY button be the one that is initially selected when the DVD starts up. In other words, I don't want people to have to scroll the various buttons on the menu to get to the PLAY button. I want it to be selected by default, so all they have to do is hit the PLAY button on their remote control to start the movie.

I think Robert was referring to the triangular play button on the simulator control panel rather than the button on his menu marked 'Play'...
Robert - the 'Enter' button (or your 'Return' key on your keyboard) are the only ways you'll get the simulator to begin to play your project. The Triangular play button is for when you are in a motion menu or track and you pause and re-start playback, and isn't used to select entries on the menu. When you start a track, note how the triangular play button becomes a pause button when the track starts running, and it is no longer greyed out... if you click it, you'll see the triangle return and also not be greyed out.

In Finder, click once on an Excel document then Get Info (command i)
Choose Open with: Numbers
Then Change All... to make Numbers the app for all Excel documents.
The same for Word and Powerpoint

on the vendor field, selcet f1, then click on technical details...in this subscreen you can see technical details...ypu can see a field - parameter...
If it is available, take that parameter field name and goto your user details in Su01
in userv parameter in your user details...enter this field and maintain value,,,what you want to defaiult as vendor...

Select options default value and execute

Hello,
I managed to fill my select options default value. But what I also want is that the user does not have to press the execute button when the screen is shown at the first time. I would like to show the result screen for these default values at the same time the screen is shown first.
I tried in WDDOINIT:
data: l_ref_interfacecontroller type ref to iwci_wdr_select_options .
l_ref_interfacecontroller =   wd_this->wd_cpifc_select_options( ).
l_ref_interfacecontroller->execute(
but this coding only works when the select-option screen was shown the first time.
Any ideas?

ALV selection in Cliam Recon report

In Cliam Recon report ( RPCLMSU0 ), we are not able to select the ALV type from the ALV selection field in the report selection screen.
We are in ECC 5.0.

The same thing happens for us, and we are on ECC 6.0. However, you can run the program without selecting anything for that field. Once you are in the report, go to the top menu and choose "Settings -> Layout -> Choose...". This will give you a pop-up with selections. You can choose All, Global, or User-specific for the Layout Setting and then choose a layout from the table below. I hope this helps.
Actually, it looks like there might be a coding error in the program. The same form is used for the value request on that field as is used to check whether an entered variant exists. That form doesn't fill anything in if the field is initial, it just looks to see if something that was entered already exists. If you look at the source code you will see that the same form is used for "AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR sv_alvar" as is used for "AT SELECTION-SCREEN". You may want to consider opening a note with SAP about this.

Feature Request: A way for edit-field text to not be selected by default.

edit_field text is selected by default, which means as soon as the user starts typing, pre-existing content is wiped out - not cool...

I've found a partial workaround to this: Once the dialog is showing, if the you first assign the empty string and then assigned the desired value:
edit_field.value = ""
edit_field.value = desiredValue
then the contents of the field are not left selected. This works when setting the contents from, say, the result of a button push, but I haven't figured out how to initially show the contents unselected.
