ALV Sort by time

Hi Experts!
I have a problem in sorting.
I have a field called Remaining time having data type char20.
Format is HH:MM:SS.
The problem is, i want it to be sorted in a way that a number is sorted.
Example (descending):
I want it to be sorted this way:
121:89
111:00
12:34
10:78
00:00
-01:44
-10:22
-11:45
-109:11
but in my program, it is sorted as text:
121:89
12:34
111:00
10:78
-109:11
-11:45
-10:22
-01:44
00:00

Hi,
Step 1. Sort your internal table by time field before passing it to
           ALV.
Step 2. Pass the sorted table.
OR
use function module reuse_alv_grid_display.

  • Sort by time only is it possible?

    If I import images taken on two different cameras which have synchronised time and  I use the sort by time and date function  LR3 does that but separates the images into two groups sorted by time ,each group is in the time order but for each camera model
    Is it possible to sort all the images purely by time only? I am doing weddings and the sort by time helps the work flow no end .

    I shoot jpgs so I hadn't noticed!  I only use the "set file created date to taken date" and "rename files to" %Y-%m-%d-%h-%m-%S - %%f  But it worked well enough for me to invest the 12USD in it!  :-)
    Just looked again, the 12 dollar version works with RAW.
    Interesting that LR will do it for free though!

  • Raw and CR2 files won't sort by time

    I recently shot a wedding with my Nikon while my second shooter shot with her Canon. We made sure the times were the same so that Lightroom could work its organization magic. After I uploaded them, the CR2 files showed up above the Raw files. All of the images are in one folder and I have it set to Sort by Capture Time, but they will not mix together according to their times.
    When I uploaded my Nikon images I realized that my year was off. It was set to 2010 instead of 2011, so I changed the metadata accordingly and it changed to the correct year for all of my Nikon images. I uploaded the Canon images after that incident, but they still won't sort by time. Do you think that metadata change has something to do with the images not mixing together or it is the file names?
    There are about 1400 images all together it will be quite an exhausting experience to have to organize them myself. So I would definitely appreciate some help!
    Thanks!!
    Ruth

    Check the timezone of each filetype.
    The US is several hours behind GMT so if the corrected NEFs are GMT-relative while the CR2s are US-time-zone-relative that could explain the issue, or maybe one camera had timezones set on it and one didn’t and the difference has nothing to do with the metadata correction you did.
    Did your metadata correction update the headers of the RAW files, themselves, or just LR’s internal information in its database and/or XMP files?
    If the RAW files were modified, check the timestamps with EXIFtool:
    http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
    If only the LR-stored metadata was modified, not the RAW files, themselves, then create an XMP file for one CR2 and one NEF taken about the same time, using Metadata->Write Metadata to File(s), and examine the two XMP files in a text editor to see what the timestamps and timezones say.

    You can delete a photo from a message conversation by tapping and holding the photo, then tap More... above the photo, confirm that the photo has a check to the left of it, then tap the trash icon.  You can also scroll through the conversation and tap multiple items to select them before tapping the trash icon.

  • Hotspot-clicking (Insert function) plus ALV Sorting

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where the ALV display has to be SORTED based on values entered/changed on a certain column. The sort works ok when used with a custom APPEND button for new records (always inserted at the bottom of the list).
    However, it does not work correctly when used with the Hotspot-click (INSERT functionality). It looks like if you CLICK on a particular record onscreen, you are actually addressing the original record in that position before the SORT was effected.
    Is the Hotspot-clicking (Insert functionality) possible with ALV sorting? The ideal solution would be to have the ALV sorted at PBO and also at PAI so that the user can change existing records and add new ones with the sorting being updated everytime ON_DATA_CHANGED is triggered.
    Will appreciate any help on this.
    Thanks!
    Michael

    Hello Michael
    Thanks for further specifying your requirements. I have created the sample variant ZUS_SDN_ALVGRID_HOTSPOT_SORT_1 which contains two differences as compared to its template:
    Replace table VBAK with VBAP (so we have two levels of sorting: VBELN, POSNR)
    Move SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY method call into PBO
    When I click on the hotspot (VBELN) a new row entry for the order number is created. The sorting (VBELN, POSNR) is kept even though the new row has been appended to the itab.

  • Insert data in drop down in alv at run time.

    Hi Gurus,
    I have to insert data in the dropdown wich is in alv at run time.According to my requirement i have i fill my drop down in the init but depend upon some conditions i have to insert one more vaule in the drop down at the run time.
    My problem is that i have filled the drop down with new data but it is not displayed in at the alv output.It is working fine without alv.
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi,
    As per my understanding you want to update values in the drop down, on enter event of some other field.
    For that you have written the code for drop down twice 1) in the init method 2) in the on enter event of one field, right?
    If the code is not working in the on enter event, I think you can still use 'WDDOMODIFYVIEW' method. Follow the below steps:
    1) create one attribute of type char1 in the attributes tab of the view
    2) Set the value of that attribute to 'X' in the on enter event of other field (where you have written the code for drop down)
    3) In 'WDDOMODIFYVIEW' method, check the value of attribute. If this is 'X' run the code for updating drop down, then clear the value of attribute

    Saket.

    No, there is no way to change the sort order.

  • "Sort: Capture Time" not working in LR 5.2

    I just imported a bunch of photos & videos from my cell phone into LR 5.2.  I noticed that all the .JPGs are at the top of the grid view while all the .MP4s are at the bottom.  They should be interspersed in the grid view because that is the order that I took the photos & videos  AND I have "Sort: Capture Time" selected.  This looks like a bug to me unless someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.

  • ALV Sorting Not Working after Adding Checkbox to ALV

    Hi All.
    I am currently doing an ALV report using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY function. I am sorting the list by Employee Name and Personnel Area. It works fine where the personnel are field and employee name field are merger together for same personnel are and employee name. But afterwards I added a checkbox field to the internal table and the list outputs a checkbox for each line. Afer  putting the checkbox the list no long merges the same personnel are and employee name fields according to original sorting.
    Can anyone explain if there is a way to solve this?
    Thanks a lot.

  • ALV Sort problem

    Hi Experts,
    I have encountered a peculiar situation with respect to ALV, using sort. The problem is as follows:
    1. I have an internal table with 3 fields, upon which I am supposed to implement a sort criteria on the first two fields.
    2. My data is something like this, for ex:
    abc  1  a
    abc  1  b
    cde  1  a
    cde  1  b
    3. I have applied sort criteria, on the first two fields and passed to the fm "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
    4. Now the output is as follows:
    abc  1  a
      --  b
    cde --  a
    ---   --  b
    Here ( -- ) dotted lines mean the identical entry from the previous row...
    5. My requirement is I want the output as:
    abc  1  a
    ---  --   b
    cde  1  a
    ---   --  b
    I mean the sort critetia of the second column should follow the first(adjacent column) sort criteria
    I hope it is clearly explained, and kindly let me know how this can be solved..
    Thank you,
    Shashi

    Hi Bala,
    The suggested solution is not giving the desired results..
    This happens because, when i sort the entries i mentioned earlier, remains the same, even after the two explicit sort statements on the internal table.
    Kindly check the same and let me know.
    Regards,
    Shashi

  • Alv sorting

    hi
    need to sort alv data, but the entries are like header and item
    means first line is of header data and if has items then
          the items will be displayed starting from second line but some columns for all items
          will be empty (means header data at the top line refers)
    now second header data comes and then its items.
    in such case how to sort the ALV basing on the header number.
    while sorting all the items are going at the bottom since it has no header number in its line
      and header items are coming at the top
    how to sort these entries correctly

    Hi,
    Try this
    DATA : gt_sort TYPE slis_t_sortinfo_alv,
               wa_sort TYPE slis_sortinfo_alv.
    PERFORM fill_sort.               " Filling sort of REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPALY
    FORM fill_sort .
      wa_sort-fieldname = 'MATNR'.
      wa_sort-up = c_x.
      APPEND wa_sort TO gt_sort.
      CLEAR wa_sort.
    ENDFORM.                    " FILL_SORT
          CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
            EXPORTING
              i_callback_program = g_repid
              i_grid_title       = text-012
              is_layout          = wa_slis_layout
              it_sort            = gt_sort[]
              it_fieldcat        = gt_fieldcat[]
              i_save             = 'A'
            TABLES
              t_outtab           = <fs_table>
            EXCEPTIONS
              program_error      = 1
              OTHERS             = 2.
          IF sy-subrc <> 0.
            MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
                    WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
          ENDIF.
