ALV - To diferrentiate client specific and cross client data

Hi,
In an ALV grid , i am suppose to show the client specific data  and cross client data. I dont know how to differentiate these 2 type of records. Is there any standard icons available to differentiate cross client and client specific data.
Refards,
Jey

> Its fine, is there any other way  to differenitate these 2 by some icons.
It is up to you to differentiate them using Icons or may be coloring differently...
Based on the Client you can populate the icon/color information.

  • Split database to client specific and cross client

    Hi
Do we have a known method to split an existing MaxDB database into two .
    1. Client Specific database
    2. Cross client database
    Thanks and Regards
    Sri

What you can do is to use TDMS (Test Data Migration Server), it´s a separate product and it enable you to setup test/training systems with a reduced amount of production data.
This system makes use of technologies to determine, whether a table is client depend and client independent.
Your problem is, that the client specific data NEEDS the cross client data, it relies on the customizing, that is cross client.
If your pupose is to e. g. extract some kind of data because parts of your company was sold or if you bought a new company, then you should contact the SLO group (http://service.sap.com/slo) that does those kinds of "separations" too.
From a technical level, it´s certainly possible but wihtout knowing your initial intent why you want to do that, one can give just advises, what we "think" what the reason might be.

  • Significance of client specific and client indeprndent table

Hi I am new to SAP world.
I have just joined SAP-ABAP training.
Plz let me know significance of client specific and client indeprndent table.
Can we make client independent table in SAP IDES software.
Is their any client independent table in SAP inbuilt tables .
    Thanks

    hi,
A table can be either client-specific (applying only to a single client) or client-independent (applying to all clients in the SAP system).
    ·        Client-independent tables
Client-independent tables contain data of general relevance, for example, SAP system control data, language indicators, and transaction codes.
    ·        Client-specific tables
Data which only applies to one client is stored in client-specific tables.  Examples of client-specific tables are tables containing application data, tables containing information about the structure of a company, and, with a limited number of exceptions (for example, language indicators), tables containing basic commercial data.
A table attribute in the Data Dictionary indicates whether a table is client-specific or client-independent (see also "Creating a Table Structure" in the ABAP/4 Dictionary guide).  In client-specific tables, the client is always entered in the first key position.
    hope this is helpful.
    pls reward if helpful.

  • Merging SAP Clients - Reporting on Cross Client Table Compare Results

    Hey folks,
We are trying to merge two clients into one (on the cheap), i think that cross client table comparision is the best way to find differences and possible issues and clashes with the two systems configuration, but i was wondering if there is anyway to report on these differences, so we can pull them out to word/excel document to anaylse and document them prior to making the changes.
Does anyone know if this possible?
    Thanks a lot,
    Greg

    Hello Mr. Newman,
I think using SCU0 is going to be the way to go but the output is not always the best. However you should be able to show the differences and download to excel to analyse further. If this doens't fit then I think you will have to look at copying the tcode / report and improving the output to meet your needs.
Alternatively post to basis folks and see if they have some better ideas!
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Dan

    Hi.
SAP Help is a very good source for info -> [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/69/c24c4e4ba111d189750000e8322d00/frameset.htm].
I suggest that you read the manual carefully. There are many tipps to improve performance (parallel processes) and tipps and tricks to avoid problems. If you need some notes, they are adviced there.
Also the notes [116787|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1kZSZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=116787], [552711|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1kZSZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=552711], [67205|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1kZSZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=67205] or [489690|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1kZSZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=489690] are interesting.

  • Difference between client 800 and other client

    Dear Gurus,
I have one more query one of my friend asked me is it possible to configure the client business process in client 800 in real time what makes the difference the client 800 from other client, i said 800 client is open client others are configured based on client bpp, but so we can configure the same process in 800 also so iam not confident in answering at that time, so looking for your input.
    Regards,
    Arun.

    Hi,
Client 800 normally refer to IDES server. There is no hard rule that the client server numbering should be like this only.
In general Client will be named as
    IDES is for training only.
Development Client - Sand Box (for testing) which is can eb used for configuration has well as data testing.
Golden Client - Which will have only configuration setting and No Data.
Quality Server   - Pre-produciton server, which will carry the copy of  Production Server.( configuraiton + data)
Production Server - This is live server in which we do all day to day transctions.
Note : All transportation request created in developement (ABAP - Work Bench) or Configuation done in Golden client will be move first to quality server, tested and then only it will be moved to production client.
    Hope it is clear.

  • Client independent and Dynamic Test data upload

    Hi all,
    1. While creating the Script as part Attribute we r specefying Target Sys. to record.
If i want to execute same script name some other client, without changing the Target sys., is it runs by defining that RFC for that sys. in Sys. Data container?
       2. i am specefying   the location of test data file as part of test data container and sys. data container's.
Whenever i make the changes in the test data in the Excel Interface, it is not automatically updating in the Test data container or Test configuration?
Is it req. to go to test data container -> Edit -> Varients -> Upload. each and every time the changes made?
       Any solution with u?
    Regards,
    Sreedhar

    Hi Sreedhar,
Check this link for question # 1... How to parameter Target System in eCATT
For Question # 2, As far as my knowledge goes, once you upload an excel, repository will only store the present copy of the test data, not the shortcut of the excel and then keep on updating for every change that is made in the test data repository. So you will have to upload the again when ever any changes are being made.
Others @ Pl correct me if I was wrong in saying that.
    Hope this answer helps.

  • How deploying client settins and doing client push relate

    Hello all,
This is going to be kind of a silly question. I am in the process of deploying the sccm client to a group of computers and servers using client push.
I also know I would like to create a custom client settings. I am
trying to figure out the mechanics of how they work together / and related.
I know you can deploy the client settings manually but what does the client settings have to do with the installed sccm client?
Should I deploy the sccm client and then the custom client settings?
    Phil Balderos

It doesn't matter which you do first, because the client settings can only be applied when there is a client installed.

  • What's the differece  between BI client 000 and 001 ?

    Hello exports,
We copy the client 000 to client 100,  then we done the configuration "Integration into Portal " at client 100.
But we can't success, we found that client 100 miss 7 system users( J2EE_ADMIN,SAPJSF,SLDDSUSER and so on). After we created 7 system users manually, the configuration "Integration into Portal" was sucessful .
As default, Portal connect to client 001 .
Is there any other differences bewteen BI client 000 and 001  except 7 system users ?
    Thank you !
    Best Regards,

Clients are part of the defining technical structure of the SAP System. Each client contains its own master records and set of tables.
Customizing is either client-specific or cross-client, depending on which business data is configured. Cross-client Customizing is valid for all clients in an SAP System.
When you install the SAP System, the following clients are available:
Client 000 as SAP reference client
Client 001 as production preparation client

  • Client independent settings / crioss client

    Hi all
How do i identify the clint independent/ cross client settings in sap ?
    Any table ?
    Regards
    Swapnil
Edited by: swapnil  kelkar on Nov 28, 2009 12:06 PM

    Hi Swapnil,
Your question is wrong...as client independent and cross client both are same
Client dependant and cross client customizing are different
All client dependant changes will effect only working client, and all cross client changes will effects entire system.
All cross client setting get store in T* tables (ex"T000)....

  • How to create cross-client variant?

    Hi Experters:
Can someone tell me how create cross-client variant in ECC6.0?
in 4.6, we can define the client or define cross-client transaction variant,
how to create cross-client variant in ECC6.0?
    Regareds,

    Hi,
    In se93 there is a check box cross-client .
The Cross-client switch identifies which transaction variants are cross-client and which are client-specific. If the switch is set, the transaction variant is cross-client. If the switch is not set, the transaction variant is client-specific.
A client-specific transaction variant can only exist in the client where it was created. The field contents of the transaction variant only have to be available in the particular client. A cross-client transaction variant is available in the system regardless of which client is currently active. The field contents of the transaction variant have to be available in all clients.

  • Cross Client Customzing - Define Printer

    Hello all,
As far as I know, defining a new printer in SAP system is belonging to the cross-client customizing.
But one thing I am confusing about:
I choose 'No changes to Repository and cross-client costuming objs', however I still can create and delete printers.
Can somebody know what happened? If my understanding is wrong, please kindly let me know.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Tong Ning

    Hi sir,
Related the configurations (SPAD--Printer) there is no cross client options or client specific options. You can use different printers at different or same locations based on your available resources and can use any printer either it is local/Remote. There is no such options for printer configurations. The options in SCC4 bare only for the foreign and program changes.
See the below links for detailed information and issues regarding the printer configurations.

  • Identifying and managing clients in nonblocking NIO socket programming

Here's my beef. When I write a Server using a thread for every new connection that comes in, I can remember everything for each client in its respective thread. I can have a table entry in a MYSQL database for each client which each thread can look up by a remembered id. I can direct packets from a different application to a specific client by passing a message to the thread associated with the client. But, in this implementation, the client-server setup will need to have a master-slave relationship where one is always reading, and can talk on the network only in response.
I like the NIO selector way of doing things, but I do not get a memory method to deal with specific clients. How do I, for example,
direct packets to a specific client.?
recognize incoming packet info and make sense of its context in relation to past messages to and from the same client?
maintain one-to-one correspondence between a MYSQL database table entry and a specific client?
Could somebody explain this to me how I can maintain a client environment, and a client state machine with memory?
    Thanks

AnilYou will use select() and SelectionKey when you deal with NIO. The SelectionKey has an attach method that you can use to associate the client with something, e.g. a session. Your Session class can contain all that you now have in your thread.
