Always Amber color?

the front USB port on my computer broke, so when my ipod shuffle got red i wasn't able to charge it for awhile,i then charged it up on my girls computer and it would always and only reach Amber color. so today i charged it in the back of my computer and it must've been at least six hours and its still amber.
i mean did the battery just crap out on me or what?

no, its not being used as a Data disc, it has nothing but songs in it, none of it is being used to store data, its not in data mode i've checked the ipod options.
i let it fully charge last night, it said it was green when i looked at the status, but then when i pulled it out and hit the battery status button again it was Amber again.
i'm really thinking my battery just crapped out on me. as this never happened before and i'm doing the same thing i've always been doing.

How can I transfer my photo taken with iPhone5 filters maintaining filter effects ? I always have colored photo without filter effect on my iMac !!!

no completely satisfactory answer but you can :
    1) email photos to yourself (tedious if you have a lot of filtered)
    2) create shared file in iPhone and bring into iPhoto (and maybe Aperture - not tested yet) with filter effects
    3) import to iPhoto and add effects from there (likely needs latest version to mirror iPhone filter)
see this thread for more explanation on these workarounds: iPhone isn't transferring photos taken with built-in filters

  • Will I always get color discrepancies when lab printing images softproofed on a 75% on AdobeRGB monitor?

    Hi,
I am struggling to get  printed output from a professional printing service to match what I see when I softproof on my monitor. The printed image always looks considerably more green and warm, although whites are ok. Blue skies tend to get warm greenish. The printed image often looks like a warm instagram filter had been applied.
I have two (different generation) Dell U2412M monitors (Dell U2412M = Standard gamut = 71% NTSC, 74.3% Adobe RGB, 95.8% sRGB).
These are the steps I have taken to try to achieve color consistency between monitor and print:
I have calibrated and profiled with a Spyder 3 Express using BasICColor Display 5 software, previously also used the Datacolor software that came with the calibrator. After this, what I see on my monitor "looks normal" (skin tones, landscapes etc.)
I shoot RAW with a Sony NEX6, develop in Lightroom 4 using ProPhoto 16 bit color space.
I softproof in Lightroom using an ICC file provided by the printing service.
I use Lightroom to print to file tagging it with AdobeRGB profile. Either as TIFF or as JPG 100%.
I print with the direction to the printer to "not make any auto corrections to my file".
    I have Windows 7 64bit.
I thought this would mean that I would get - probably not perfect - but at least a very strong match between softproof and printed image.  But I do not.
Are these rather strong color discrepancies to be expected given my hardware?
Is my Spyder broken (it's out of warranty)?
    Or is my workflow erroneous?

Could be the calibration targets (how you asked to celibate white point etc). Could be the output. Could be the ICC Profile. Could be your file. You have to decide which is which.
Start here: Why Are My Prints Too Dark
Then download a good color reference file like this one: http://www.digitaldog.net/files/2014PrinterTestFileFlat.tif.zip
Soft proof and see if any green or odd color cast appear. If so, probably the  profile but use it and have a print made. The output should look good (neutral in neutrals, reds that don't appear yellowish etc).
Generally speaking, if you send Adobe RGB (1998) and the other side assumes it is sRGB, you will end up with desaturated colors. This isn't the fault of Adobe RGB but rather assuming that data is sRGB which it isn't.

    a:visited { color: #551a8b; }
    a:hover { color: #06e; }
    a:focus { outline: thin dotted; }
    all fine here
but I have main menu navigation where i want the VISITED link color to always be the same - even after visited...

BTW: Is it possible to have several css link setup code (as above) in the same page?

  • Apple Mail - Amber color sometimes in Mailbox Pane in Yosemite

    Hi
I am running OX X Yosemite 10.10 and using Apple Mail. Sometimes in the Mailbox pane on the left I see the top of the column glow amber and fade down the upper part of the column. It almost appears as if the color is moving. Has anyone else seen this and if so do you know what it signifies? My guess it means it is checking mail, but it does not to it consistently to affirm my guess.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Brandon

solved it without delete/add back (which would have been a pain)
turns out the having INBOX in the mail app path prefix setting (mail/ preferences/accounts/advance) was causing the entire account to not show up in the mailbox pane.
I have other email acts where it works only with INBOX in this setting. Still haven't figure out what makes this necessary sometimes, and not other times. Once the account showed up in the bottom of the mail pane, I was able to expand it and highlight the individual mailboxes that appeared (sent, drafts, etc), and then select the "Use this mailbox as" command which is at the bottom of the Mailbox menu.
Seems to me that different IMAP servers present themselves to mail clients with a fair amount of variation, so setting up Apple's mail app for one IMAP acct may be quite different from another.
I wish I could find a really good tutorial which thoroughly explains mailboxes in the apple mail client and mailboxes in an IMAP server and how they all interact, but anyway, its working ok now.

  • [All Platforms] Always green colored buttons should change and match Album/Playlist covers

When you use Spotify, you always see everything green. But, a better way to experience the feel of the albums and playlists is the wau that Spotify adapts and matches to the color of the Albums/playlists. Spotify should change the color of the shuffle play button in mobile or change thecolor of the highlighted now playing tracks on the desktop. Seeing everything red when the album is red is the greatest experience in streaming music.

  • MagSafe LED always amber - Battery won't charge past 90%

My 2007 SantaRosa model also suffered from the Navidia 8600 chip failure and I took it in for diagnosis and repair under them unannounced 'recall'. I got it back and all was working just fine... for the first week. It was actually working better than before, and still is except that quite suddenly, the battery has stopped charging all the way up to 99-100%, and the amber light on the MagSafe adapter of the charger will not change to green. Right now the battery will not charge above 90%, and the charger has been attached over-night. The charger is not over-heating as far as my touch can tell, there is no fray in the MagSafeplug, it is clean and it is plugged into a reliable outlet.
Yes, I did do an SMC reset, ran the long version of the Apple Hardware Test from the install disks, and did do a battery recalibration. The Hardware test indicated that there was no problem with the laptop, and as part of the logic board replacement due to the Navidia problem, the Apple techs also had successfully run the full course of diagnostics - no problems indicated.
I have a second battery that I installed and still get the same result - incomplete charging and constant amber LED.
Any of you had this problem or have suggestions of another route to follow in troubleshooting this pain the the rump?? I've Googled this problem to death and not seen a page that mentions a problem where the MBP charger amber light stays on constantly with incomplete battery charging.
Let's see if the collective powers of this forum have the solution! Thanks in advance to all...

and I took it in for diagnosis and repair under them unannounced 'recall'.
Take it back ASAP. If the problems started after the logic board replacement (that's the nVidea fix) then something about the new board or the way it was reassembled is wrong.

  • Small sizeselection always prints color on 2710 All-in-one

Bout invitations from www.willtonprint.com, and the size of the invitation is 5.5 by 8.5.
Using the website to print, it comes out perfect using regular paper.
When I stick the invitation size paper in, the printer complains about unexpected size and prints in purple.
OK, so I told the print driver only to print in Black, and it still prints in purple.
I tried a custom size, and it reduces things in size proportionally AND it prints in color.
I am toying with the idea of taping the invitation to a regular piece of paper, unless anyone has a good idea.

If you have the paper type set to "Automatic" the invitation paper may be being detected as photo paper, which will not use the black cartridge.  If the color cartrdige is low on yellow ink trying to print black text on photo paper will result in purple prints.
Try changing the paper type to "plain paper" or replace your color cartridge.

  • IBook-always amber, always calculating, always dying!

About a week ago I gave up and went to buy a new adapter because mine basically got ripped apart with use. I got the new one, and it wouldn't charge. It stayed "calculating" all the while decreasing in power left and the amber light was on. Computer died, and my husband jiggled everything around, and somehow it charged. Now for about a week it will randomly start flashing between calculating and battery power. When the battery dies the adapter does not keep my laptop on. I have remedied it in the past week by unplugging the adapter from my laptop for a few moments, then plugging it back in. That usually set it right and back to charging. It's not working this time. Suggestions? I can't really afford to buy a new battery if that's not the problem. :/

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
When you mention that "jiggling around" will help it to work intermittantly, it may be that the DC In Board has gone bad. This is the place where you plug the power adaptor into the iBook--does it seem loose or have the pins bent? If the power adaptor is not making good contact here, this could result in the type of problems you are having. The DC In Board can be replaced.
If the contact is good and the DC In Board is good, then you can run the iBook as long as you like, even with no battery present. It sounds like yours is mostly running off the battery and it's getting to where the battery won't charge.
You could try resetting the PMU and see if this helps, but if the problem is with the DC In board, it will still be there.
If you have access to an Apple Store, you might be able to take it in and see if a genius can confirm that this is what it needs. I have heard of this repair costing a little over $100 at some places. Or you could even do it yourself --you can go to the following site and see what is involved:

  • HP Pavilion p7 1280t - at power-up an Amber light appears and the Desktop does not Bootup

    BEFORE:
When not in use I always power down my Desktop.  So when I power up, I press the power button to boot up the Desktop.  During this process a green light appears at the top of PC  and the PC Boots up.
    NOW:
Now since experiencing the recent problem, when I now press the power button the green light appears for approximatly 2 - 3 seconds, then quickly the light changes from green to amber color and then a rapid beep sounds is heard until I pull the electrical plug.
Not sure if this has a bearing, very recently received an email from HP that a Bios update should be installed.

    Mina10, welcome to the forum.
Here is a guide that may help you solve your problem.  Read it carefully.  Towards the bottom of the guide there are BIOS Beep codes listed.  See if any of them matches the beeps that the computer is making.

  • Always uses the battery no matter what!

Hi, this laptop uses only the battery power even when it's plugged in!
I always get the amber colored light no matter how long I try to charge, it doesn't get charged anyway. So now the battery has finally ran out and I can't use the computer. I don't know what's wrong with it, could it be the power supply? or the input jack of the power supply on the laptop? any kind of information would be appreciated, thanks!

The same exact thing happened to me & I took it in twice for repair and both times they said they fixed it, but when I got home it wouldn't hold a charge and now the warranty has expired....very frustrating! The "Invoice Details" said they replaced the "APP-590-5401 CABLE ASSY IBOOK 12-1"....

  • Animated Gif Color Problem

    Hi all,
I want to make a small animated gif by My lovely software : AfterEffect...
The problem i face, that when i render my work, i get an animated gif with bad colors (like if i export as 256 colors for example..)
I put in the export setting MILLIONS OF COLORS ....
and i get always POOR color depth ...
I can see the true colors in the After Effect work Panels ...
Only when i put the composition in the render queu and export as Animated Gif, i get the Poor colors..
    PLEASE HELP ME ...
    Thanks

As pointed out by the others, the limitation is in the file format. You will never exceed the 256 barrier. This is further complicated by how AE determines the color palette. This usually happens on the first few frames, 'cos naturally the other frames do not exist and AE doesn't know about them. If there is considerable change in the color palette over time, this cannot be accommodated. Therefore you'd really do a lot better by following the advise provided by the others. In addition to Rick's tips, I recommend you work with the perceptive dithering mode when saving your GIFs. This usually gives the "smoothest" result, but may shift the colors ever so slightly. I also recommend to not use transparencies with animated GIFs. They have a severe impact on file size and compression quality as well as possibly the playback performance in your browser. If you know the background color of your web page, it should be part of the file.

  • Problem in colors when printing

I use a canon ip6000 printer. And of course iphoto 6. Recently I have encountered a most baffling and frustrating problem for the first time in using iphoto for several years: When I print my photographs, always the colors are just wrong, always with way too much magenta/red that take over the image. I have tried everything I could think of. I made sure that the printer was set to take photo paper, that the ink was in the right position. What's stranger, is that Iam almost sure that it is internal within iphoto and not the printer, because when I printed on preview (on regular paper I might add), the colors were perfectly correct. This is my first post, and I really hope someone has a solution. Thank you in advance.

I'm glad it worked for you. I hope you are happy with the results.
I have another tip if you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, which is to open your image in Photoshop, and use Levels. Set the Output slider to 12. Save the image to the desktop, then Import into iPhoto, then print.
I found this somewhere on the internet, but unfortunately I cannot remember the site. It was about having iPhoto books printed and how the images seem to be darker.
I tried it for inkjet prints and I found that it solved the solid black painted effect in the shadow areas.
But … you do need a copy of either Photshop or Photoshop Elements. PS Elements is worth it because you can do so much more fine tuning of your images. However, some photos are so good straight from the camera and iPhoto is great for quick and easy prints. There should be no need for an additional program just because of the tendency for iPhoto overdo the black ink. Otherwise, I get the best screen/print colour matching from iPhoto compared to anything else.
I agree totally that we should be able to use iPhoto without the need to print from other applications, even if it is only Preview. We shouldn't need to find workarounds. I will submit my feedback on this too.
