Always clicking homekeys or menu keys, it wont go away while playing it takes me out of my game!

I keep on accidentally clicking the home screen buttons while playing games, the.home screen menu buttons wont go away while playing, and it gets me irritated coz it always takes me off my game play.
Sony please do something!!!!

Try scouring through the settings of your game to look for an option like 'Hide menu buttons" or "Lock menu buttons". Android does allow such options to be incorporated into apps, and many apps, especially video players and games, do provide users with such options . If you can't find such an option, try asking the members of the game's forum, they might have a solution.

  • Problems with the BBkey (also known as the menu key)

    Sometimes when I am in an app and want to click on one of the items in the menu list (e.g., delete), when I click on the menu key, what pops up are some of the icons from the home page.  (I am getting really tired of looking at that little penguin....).  If i persist, I can usually get the menu option to pop up, but it's annoying.  I am pretty sure it is a software problem.  I had this problem after some time on my first Tour.  I had to replace that because of other issues.  I used the Device Switch Wizard to transfer everything, so I guess it also transferred whatever is causing this issue.
    Is anyone else having this problem?  Any ideas about what to do?  I don't want to re-install the OS-- I'd rather put up with the problem.  Thanks.

    Go to Solution.

    Hi again!
    The BBKey/Menu key has two functions...
    1) To bring up a context-sensitive menu for the app you are in
    2) To bring up the app-switcher ribbon (a list of all of your currently running apps so that you can quickly change to a different app)
    The difference is how long you hold the key down. For 1, it's a quick press and release. For 2, it's a hold down. Sometimes, it gets it wrong, but with practice you will be able to get what you want most of the time (not 100% though...I still get the wrong result sometimes).
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Ashley Clavette,
    The Initial view setting works perfectly when the file is opened in Acrobat after setting the desired Initial View.
    When you upload the file onto Wordpress, and view it on that website in the browser...it might be using a different pdf handler program which might be causing this issue ( it would be helpful, if you could provide the screenshot) , however when you download the pdf again from wordpress server...and open in Acrobat/Reader...then what  exactly happens ?  Does the pdf opens in the desired Initial View setting?

  • Mouse right click button, popup menu, PC frozen

    Hello all,
    It has been while I've been noticing this problem.
    Almost every time I click with the right mouse button on an email from the list of emails or a word inside the content of an email to see which words are suggested by the spell checker, the usual popup menu appear but immediately after
    my PC gets frozen. I need to restart it.
    I don't think TB causes that crash, but something indirectly related.
    How can I debug this? (I'm software developer)
    Thank you so much.
    Roberto

    Update1:
    I put my attention only in the main TB menu.
    I disabled the TB extensions (only Lighting and EnigMail) and tried again to play with the main TB menu.
    With this new TB GUI, you don't see directly the main menu. I usually click the ALT key and the main menu will be displayed. After that I play with it a bit. That means, I clicked on on Tools or File or View etc items and just moved the mouse cursor over the popup menu, without clicking on a specific submenu item. After a while, some seconds, the PC gets frozen and I need to restard the PC.
    I started TB in safe mode also (-safe-mode). In this mode the main menu appears always so I don't need to click on the ALT key.
    I repeat the same steps of moving the mouse cursor of popup main menu items. Up to now, all is normal, without crashing or freezing.
    PC: Win7 (full updated), x64, TB last version.
    Any idea how can I debug this problem?
    Thanks

    Back up all data before proceeding.
    Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
    Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
    If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
    Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
              Change Settings for Keychain "login"
    In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
              Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
    If the box marked
              Keep login keychain unlocked
    is not checked, check it.
    Select
              Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
    from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

    I installed Canon Pixma MG5520 on win 7, since, always get "canon quick menu has stopped working" how do I fix please?

    Hi thaluza,
    We can see if there are files in a folder called TWAIN_32 other than those related to the printer that may be causing a conflict with the Quick Menu. If there are, we can temporarily remove the files to see if this will resolve the issue.
    To move the non-Canon Twain files from the Twain_32 folder, please follow these steps:
    1. Go to Computer / My Computer and locate the C: drive, then double-click on it to open.
    2. Locate the WINDOWS folder, then double-click to open it.
    3. Locate the TWAIN_32 folder, then double-click to open it.
    4. Inside of the TWAIN_32 folder, you will see a folder for your printer as well as a WIATWAIN.DS file. If there are other files in that folder, you will want to move them to another location, preferably your Desktop by doing the following:
        4-1. Click on each of the other items in the folder other than the the WIATWAIN.DS file and the folder for your printer to select them. You will want to hold the the CTRL key on your keyboard while selecting each of the items until all of the items except for the two referenced above are selected. Please be sure to leave the WIATWAIN.DS file and folder related to your printer inside of the TWAIN_32 folder.
        4-2. With all of the items you want to move selected, please go to the EDIT menu and select the CUT option.
        4-3. Go to your Desktop (main window that comes up when you start Windows with all of the icons on it) and right-click your mouse in any blank area, then choose the PASTE option. The items you selected from the TWAIN_32 folder should appear on the Desktop.
    5. Try to launch the Quick Menu again.
    Hope this helps!

    Hmm, that is very strange. I agree with MichelB that it's probably best just to get the PDF, but you can try going to your username>library>preferences and deleting:
    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 settings
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 paths
    To see the library, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in there it wouldn't be a bad idea to go to the Saved Application States folder and delete anything pertaining to PSE.
    Repair permissions and see if that does it.

    I have Photoshop CS5, and use windows XP. I cannot open bridge from photoshop, which I have done for years.  When I am in Photoshop, when it opens, I always click on the bridge icon at the bottom of the screen and it puts me into bridge. This is not happening, the small wheel at the bottom of the screen just keeps spinning. Its like its stuck or caught in a loop. I can't get into bridge. I tried shutting down and starting up again but  the problem remains. Looking for help.  Dan

    Thanks for your response, I was able to open bridge from File-Browse in Bridge.  This worked, but was not able to go back to the way I always opened Bridge.  At least I could get to Bridge and go into Camera Raw. I never tried to open Bridge from the Start menu.  The odd thing about this is, it has happened before, and to get it "unstuck" and working again, I would shut down and restart again in a few minutes, and things would go back to normal.  This time it did not go back to normal after several attempts.  I shut down for about 3-4 hours, restarted, and it seems to be back to normal again. I am not sure if it's a problem that is getting worse each time it happens.       And yes I am using Mini Bridge in photoshop CS5.  Thank you for your help.  Dan

  • CFMCPopupMenu is shown multiple times if the menu key (VK_APPS) is pressed multiple times

    Hello,
    I have a problem with the CFMCPopupMenu in a Visual Studio Professional 2013 Update 4 created MFC DLL (Regular DLL using shared MFC DLL) and in a dialog based MFC application (others I didn't test - maybe in an SDI application too).
    If the menu key (VK_APPS) is pressed multiple times, the context menu is created and shown multiple times.
    When pressing the Alt (VK_MENU) key or clicking with the mouse buttons the menu is not shown multiple times.
    It seems to be bug in CDialogImpl::PreTranslateMessage case WM_CONTEXTMENU where it is tested if a popup menu is already shown
    and if there is an active popup menu this popup menu is closed, but only if the pMsg->wParam == VK_MENU.
    The problem occurs in a dialog based MFC application and in dialog's in regular DLL's.
    In case of MFC MDI applications the problem does not occur,
    because in the CFrameImpl::ProcessKeyboard the key is passed to the popup menu for processing pActivePopupMenu->SendMessage(WM_KEYDOWN, nKey); and eaten up.
    You can reproduce the problem in the following way:
    1. Create a dialog based MFC application with the Visual Studio 2013 wizard.
    2. Add a menu IDR_MENU1 to the resource.
    3. Add a ON_WM_CONTEXTMENU / OnContextMenu message handler to the dialog.
    4. Insert the following code into the OnContextMenu handler of the dialog:
      _ASSERT(!CMFCPopupMenu::GetSafeActivePopupMenu());
      CMenu m;
      m.LoadMenu(IDR_MENU1);
      CMFCPopupMenu* pPopupMenu = new CMFCPopupMenu;
      pPopupMenu->SetAutoDestroy(FALSE);
      VERIFY(pPopupMenu->Create(this, 100, 100, m.GetSafeHmenu(), TRUE, TRUE));
    5. Compile and start the application and press the Menu Key (VK_APPS) multiple times.
    -> You run into the ASSERT.
    If you press the Alt-Key or left click with the mouse multiple times all is fine.
    You can also add a tracepoint in the constructor and destructor to see that the CMFCPopup menu is created multiple times if the Menu-Key is pressed.
    Kind regards,
    Andreas.
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
    Thanks for posting in MSDN forum.
    Yes, I can reproduce this issue on my side. After look into the afxdialogimpl.cpp and afxframeimpl.cpp file, It really is a issue in the dialog message translate. I have no workaround to avoid this. But maybe we can try to use
    CMenu class and handle WM_RBUTTONDOWN message instead of WM_CONTEXTMENU.
    void CMFCPopupMenuTestDlg::OnRButtonDown(UINT nFlags, CPoint point)
    // TODO: Add your message handler code here and/or call default
    CMenu menu;
    VERIFY(menu.LoadMenu(IDR_MENU1)); //IDR_MENU_POPUP是新建菜单ID
    CMenu* popup=menu.GetSubMenu(0);
    ClientToScreen(&point);
    popup->TrackPopupMenu(TPM_LEFTALIGN|TPM_RIGHTBUTTON, point.x, point.y, this );
    CDialogEx::OnRButtonDown(nFlags, point);
    By using this, we can avoid the VK_APP message caused multi pop up menu.
    Also have you tried submit this issue to Microsoft connect?
    https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio

  • Is there another way of getting to the menu, without the menu key!

    Hi Everyone
    I am embarrassed to say that I managed to drop my blackberry in a cup of tea! Thankfully, it dried out eventually. But, the menu key will now not work
    Is there a way of accessing the menu (things such as pics, clock, games etc) without using the menu key itself?
    Thanks!
    Vix

    How long, how many days did you let it dry?
    Plus if there was sugar or sweetener in the cup, it could leave gunk or something in the device, you might actually need to use rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts.
    Until you decide that....
    1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
    2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
    3. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
    *Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
    Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
    On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
    On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

  • How to reset input Text value on click of root menu item navigation link ?

    All,
    Jdeveloper - 11.1.1.6
    I am facing this issue across the pages.
    I have a root_menu.xml based navigation available as links at the top of ADF application. Some of the menu links directly have JSPX pages having the content being loaded , and others are JSPX containing Bounded task flow.
    Issue :
    On the click of the menu links, the page gets reloaded / refreshed , however the input value given on the page remains displayed even after refresh.
    We need the page refresh along with any input test box getting cleared on Menu item click.
    Any pointers as to how we can resolve.
    Thanks

    If your page is in a taskflow (which it should be as you use pageflowscope), you should have a method action in your task flow which you call to clear all the values you use in the UI.

    i cant click on the wi-fi it wont open just says no wi-fi

    Try re-booting the phone. If that doesn't fix it, restore, if that doesn't work, restore it as a new phone.
    If none of those clear it up, then it will need to be serviced as the WiFi radio has failed.
