Always Find (Cntrl+F) From Top of Page

I have a question about using the find box (cntrl+F) to search for text on a page.
I often search for some text, then hit cntrl+f to search for something new, and again...but find it annoying that it searches from my current position on the page.
Is there a setting to force it to always start the search from the top of the page when I type new text into the find box?
Or some kind of addon/extension?

Thanks for the response, but unless I'm missing a setting, I don't see any option that will force all searches to start from the top of the page.

Vertical Distance of Cursor From Top of Page

I am looking for the display that shows the vertical distance of the cursor from the top edge of the page in inches. In every other word processor that I have used there is a read-out at the bottom of the display that shows the current vertical location of the cursor, in inches, from the top edge of the page. I share Peter's curiosity, particularly since an admittedly cursory examination of an MS Word (Win) screen did not reveal the readout mentioned by redpony, or any other indcation of the position of the 'cursor' or of an inserted and selected graphics object. Did I miss a setting somewhere?
I looked at MS Works, MS Word and OpenOffice.org on Windows and at Pages and NeoOffice on Mac OS X.
On Windows:
MS Works does not include a vertical ruler, and the help files didn't suggest one was available.
Didn't see the readout redpony claimed in MS Word 2007, or any indication on the rulers of the current location of either the cursor (mouse pointer) or the insertion point.
OpenOffice.org didn't indicate the location of either, but did mark the vertical and horizontal location of a selected object on both rulers.
On the iBook:
NeoOffice showed the location of a selected object in the same manner that OpenOffice.org did on the Windows machine. Not surprising, as Neo is developed from OOo.
Pages '09 did not show a vertical ruler (on a word processing document) by default, but did so after a change in Pages > Preferences > Rulers. Like the others, Pages did not show the location of the insertion point or the mouse pointer either on the rulers or through a readout. But Pages DID show the location of an object when the object was clicked. The location of the top, vertical center and bottom of the object were shown with index lines on the vertical ruler (if present), and the corresponding three markers were placed on the horizontal ruler. In addition, Pages presented a numerical readout near the object showing the current x and y coordinates of the object's upper left corner with a precision of two places after the decimal.

Curser always jumping back to the top of page

My curser is always jumping back to the top of the page. I will be half way down the page and it just jumps right back to the top. Is this a setting I can change?

The other problem occasionally seen is a swollen battery.
This can push up against the bottom of the trackpad and make it wonky, but usually the result is RANDOM movements.

LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw prints image shifted 1/2" from top of page.

When printing any report, diagnostic or form from the machine system I get printed image shift approx. 1/2" from the top.
Is there any adjustment that can be made to the MFP to center image?

I understand that when printing documents or a printer hardware self test, it shifts 1/2" from the top of the page. I can help you with this.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
It sounds like the paper isn't feeding properly. Since you are having this issue with the hardware tests and printing from the computer. If it was just the computer, I would check the paper type selected in the print driver, to make sure it isn't set on the proper paper type and not the default unspecified paper.
Try another type of paper to see if you get the same results.
I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue.

What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)

Moving 'Logon' text From top of page to bottom?

Hi,
I'm using a Theme Greyscale #17 in my application. At the top of all my
pages I have the Company Logo at the Top Left side and a Navigation Bar
on the Top Right. But the Template puts the Users Login (i.e. JSMITH)
just to the right of the Company Logo and it looks funny there. Can somebody
explain how I put the User's login at the bottom left position of the screen?
I don't have an understanding of how to modify Themes/Templates. Thanks

Go to the shared components section of your application.
Click on templates
Find your default page template (There will be a tick mark near it).
Click on the template name.
I think the parts you are looking for are: #NAVIGATION_BAR# and &APP_USER.

How to find broken url from custom 404 page?

I have created a custom 404 jsp page and updated the web deployment descriptor with the code:
     <error-page>
        <error-code>404</error-code>
        <location>/jsp/custom-404.jsp</location>
     </error-page>Whenever I enter an invalid url or click on broken link (target does not exist), a 404 HTTP response arises and the custom-404.jsp is rendered. So far so good.
Within the custom-404.jsp, I would like to know the original url (invalid link or broken link) so that I can send the administrator an email with the url details.But, I could not find any API to find this url?

My bet is that it is available as referrer inside the error page in case of a redirect, or as Request URI in case of a forward.

How do you remove list of all ready published sites at the top of the page.

You cannot delete a Site.
iWeb expects it with one page.
So delete the pages.
Make sure you do not publish the Site. iWeb will update it. Change the location where you publish. Choose a folder.
Note : published webpages CANNOT be imported back into iWeb.

The nav layer at the top is 2475pixels high. All the links are on the righthand side of that area.
I also noticed that you use iWeb 2.0.3. Perhaps updating to iWeb 2.0.4 would solve the problem.

ALV print issue in top-of-page

Hi,
I have developed a alv report using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY function module. I am using top-of-page event in events table to output top-of-page details. It is showing output correctly on screen but when I do a print preview, it is showing only the grid details and no header info from top-of-page. Please advise what can be the issue? I might be missing some parameter somewhere..I am creating my field catalog manually w/o reference to a structure or internal table..can this be a issue..

Trouble with back button in Safari, always resets to top of page.

I am running Safari 6.0.5 on a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8.5
The problem that I am having is that every time I use the back button to my previous page it always takes me to the top of my previous page. All of my other Macs running Safari always take me to the point in the page I left from. It is a real headache to always have to search for where I was on my last page. I have gone through every preference I can think of that would be relevant and updated several versions of Safari with no change. This issuse is only on my laptop
Anyone that has had this issue I would appreciate the help.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Finding the group from a page level

I have a requirement to detach a particular page from the master page so that i can edit the respective item.
I have written the below script that look for the group inside masterPageItems and then detach the page.
When i printed "currentPage.masterPageItems.length" in alert, it shown me 120 counts. The issue here is that it is looping through all the 120 items to get the group and then detaching it. Is there a better way to find the group once i get the "currentPage" rather than looping through all the masterpageitems? Please help if you have a solution for this. The script takes a lot of time to execute and need to optimize it. If anybody require i can send you the INDD sample file for testing . Thanks in advance

I sent the document as a PDF and it worked. But I want to be able to use Pages back and forth. HOw do I update the Pages version on my desktop iMac?

The file format used by the iOS versions of the iWork apps can only be read by the new iWork apps on your Mac - i.e. Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. Those versions for the Mac require Mavericks, OS X 10.9. The "too old" error on a Mac comes if you are trying to open an iWork '08 or earlier file in the newest apps. If you do have the newest apps you can open the files from your iPad.
If you can't or don't want to upgrade to Mavericks & the newest iWork apps your best option would be to export/share the files from the iPad to a type an older version of iWork can read such as Word, text, Excel, etc.
Or contact AppleCare. They made this mess, let them fix it.

Can I stop iWeb from putting a page name at the top?

I don't want page names across the top in iWeb. I have a list of hyperlinked icons on the side for that.
Can anyone tell me how to stop iWeb from putting the page name on the page?

The script is for the text in the browser title bar.
The title is taken from the large textbox at the top of each webpage.
If that box is missing or empty, iWeb uses a next textbox for the title.
If that is missing too, the pagename is used for the title.
If you want the title in the titlebar but not the large textbox on your page, select the textbox, do Cm-T and drag the font-size slider to the bottom.
Then click the color next to the T-icon and drag that opacity slider to the left (0).
Then resize the textbox to it minimun size and drag it out of view. And don't forget you did.
But I think the OP means the navigation links at the top.
