Always On Client connectivity

WE have few questions related to client connectivity and URL Routing List with Always ON 2012
upgrade of every client connecting to 2012….? Do they need all to have .NET Framework installed.
After installing dlls for sql11 native client on system 2008R2. READONLY ROUTING NOT WORKING from those client where the native 11 client was installed from MS component package download. What might be the issue here?
On the Native ODBC client connectivity from 2008R2 servers do we have to use System DNS for the Linked server or just the readonly routing will connect?
why changing the URL ROUTING LIST get reset when trying to modify original settings.
Thanks
Suresh

1.Yes
2.Did you get error message?
3.Linked server is not necessary.

  • Clients connections not balanced across proxies

    Guys,
    I have 8 Extend clients connecting to 6 proxies. With 3.7, my understanding was by default clients connections should be balanced across available proxies but its not the case always. I see some times client connections are not load balanced at all.
    Have been through -- http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24290_01/coh.371/e22839/gs_configextend.htm#BEBBIJAI
    I've specified two proxies in the client side config
              <tcp-initiator>
               <remote-addresses>
                   <socket-address>
                      <address>35.54.42.46</address>
                      <port>9099</port>
                   </socket-address>
                   <socket-address>
                      <address>35.54.42.47</address>
                      <port>9099</port>
                   </socket-address>
                </remote-addresses>
                   <connect-timeout>10s</connect-timeout>
                </tcp-initiator>
    Haven't configured load balancer on the proxy, so by default it should be set to 'proxy'. Have even tried by explicity configuring load balancer to 'proxy' bo luck.
    Certain times I see, which is perfect
         proxy 1 -- 1 client connection
         proxy 2 -- 2 client connection's
         proxy 3 -- 1 client connection
         proxy 4 -- 1 client connection
         proxy 5 -- 2 client connection's
         proxy 6 -- 1 client connection
    But I also see
         proxy 1 -- 1 client connection
         proxy 2 -- 3 client connection's
         proxy 3 -- 0 client connection
         proxy 4 -- 0 client connection
         proxy 5 -- 1 client connection
         proxy 6 -- 3 client connection's
    Any ideas to fix this would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    K

    Hi Venkat,
    Been monitoring RequestTotalCount, but I still think connections still imbalanced..
    Currently, I have 3 clients and 5 proxy nodes and i see
    Proxy node 1 ---  ConnectionCount=2, RequestTotalCount=25
    Proxy node 2 ---  ConnectionCount=0, RequestTotalCount=23
    Proxy node 3 ---  ConnectionCount=0, RequestTotalCount=4
    Proxy node 4 ---  ConnectionCount=0, RequestTotalCount=18
    Proxy node 5 ---  ConnectionCount=1, RequestTotalCount=19
    Would appreciate your clarification. Also, shound't client connections be balanced based on 'ConnectionCount' and other attributes like CPU usage, etc?
    Thanks
    K

  • How to close JDBC client connections in JSP (9IDS Jdeveloper)

    Can anyone tell me how to close JDBC connections neatly through JSP in Oracle 9IDS Jdeveloper.
    I have a developer who has deployed a WAR file (comprising JSP page) to the Tomcat webserver.
    The page works fine except that it always leaves a JDBC client connection after the user closes the internet explorer window.
    I've tried using dead connection detection without success.
    At the operating system level, I have a script that can kill these sessions but I would prefer if theres some way the connection can be closed neatly through the JSP application.

    Hi:
    At database level you can:
    See CONNECT_TIME and IDLE_TIME options to CREATE/ALTER PROFILE

  • List clients connected to server

    Is there a way to list the number of Clients connected to a Server?
    Also, how can two Clients talk to each other using the Server as their mediator?
    Example: Client1 sends "Hello Client2" to Client2 via the Server.
    Client2 sends "Hi there Client1" to Client1 via the Server.
    Thanks

    Well, you wrote the server?
    If so, then you can add code to the server to keep track of all the currently connected clients. You might wish to store them in a Set or a List or a Map. And you can add code to print the contents of that Set or List or Map.
    For the second part, just like the first, it's a rather broad question. "How" to have them talk to each other? You need to define your requirements. For instance, will there always only be two clients, and they just talk to each other? Or could there be any number of clients and any one can talk to any other, lik with chat? What part of what you want do you not understand? The basic idea is that the client sends to the server, and the server forwards on to the other clien. I don't really know what you're asking.
    You might try googling for java chat code or something. I'm sure you'll find lots of samples.

  • ONS 15454 MSTP Client Connection Options

    Hi!
    Have questions regarding client connection options to ONS 15454 MSTP. FYI, I have experience on ONS 15540 ESPx and I usually connect client to the ONS using transponder like this
    ONS 15540 ESPx
    Client<->transponder<->OADM<->OADM<->transponder<->client
    I am new to ONS 15454 MSTP and from the reference manual I understand that the it can be configured as hub, passive oadm, anti ase etc. My questions is how does the client get connected to each of this configurations
    For example, for a passive or amplified nodes the client connections would be like this
    ONS 15454 MSTP
    client<->transponder<->OADM<->OA<->OA<->OADM<->transponder<->client
    What about hub nodes where mux/demux card are used, where does the client connect,I do understand that these cards have to be used in pairs.
    As always,appreciate your expert opinions and if you can point me to a web link that would be even better. Many Thanks.

    In both cases, the client (assuming it has a non-ITU output) will connect via a transponder or muxponder card. This takes the client signal and converts (with multiplexing in the muxponder case) the client signal into an ITU wavelength.
    On the MSTP, the ITU port on the transponder/muxponder is then physically patched into the appropriate port on either ROADM, OADM or Mux/Demux cards.
    To directly answer your question, on a hub node equipped with Mux/Demux cards, the Tx from the Transponder is connected to the Mux card, and the Rx connected to the Demux. Likewise, at the node where the wavelength is dropped (eg at an OADM site), there will be an equivalent transpoder connected to the OADM module (Tx and Rx at wavelength xyz).
    The transponders/muxponders may be in the same shelf, separate shelves, or you may use a direct ITU connection from devices such as a DWDM GBIC, an SDH DWDM card or 10GE XENPAK from Catalyst 6500.
    As long as you have designed the network to take the appropriate interface types into account, you should be fine.

  • Different client connect server but get same IP??

            } catch(IOException ioe) {
                          killClient();
    public String getIP() {
            return ip;
        }please help.. thanks

    hi, thanks for reply.
    yes, i am trying to connect from different macnine
    that have different IP address.
    how to check if it asign same external IP toclient?
    can it be configure to assign different IP?what he means is, if you run your server at location
    A, and all your clients from location B, with the
    internet in between, and a single router/switch
    serving internet connections to the clients at the B
    location, then the server at the A location will see
    the external IP of the site B router, not the
    individual IPs of the clients behind the router
    (since those IPs are only for internal network usage
    behind the router)
    in short, do you test with multiple clients from one
    internet connection? then it would be logical that
    they present the same IP to the server. The best (and
    most realistic) way to test would be with multiple
    clients from multiple locations / internet connectionsok.thanks.
    so is it possible for me to get the client machine ip but not the IP for the router? because i will hav multiple user from same location access the server at the same time.

    I went into ~/Library/Preferences/ and /Library/Preferences/ and deleted every plist contating the word server. I had to re-set up my server (meaning walk through some intial steps) but all of my settings were still there after that and everything started working again.
    Just a thought, obviously try at your own risk but it worked for me.

  • How to make the client connect to the server at the command prompt?

    I found this code on IBM's website, it was a training session on servers and clients using java.
    The code compiles fine and the server seems to start up properly when I use java Server 5000. I think whats happening is the server is running and listening for a connection on port 5000.
    When I try to run the client I get the following error.
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
    I see a start() method but no main. As far as I know, applications should all have main, it seems as if the person who wrote this kinda confused applets with application. Not that I would really know what happened.
    If you have time, could you tell me if there's an easy fix for this? I would love to have this client/server working if it isn't too much trouble. As I have looked all over the net for a free client/server applet that will actually let me see the java code and none of the free ones do allow getting to their source.
    Most of them allow you to customize them somewhat but also have built in advertising that can't be removed.
    This is the closest I have come to finding one that lets me look under the hood. But alas it doesn't work out of the box and I don't know what to do to fix it.
    Heres the code: Server:

  • Internal outlook client connectivity in exchange 2010 when coexist with exchange 2013

    Hi all ,
    on my side i would like to clarify few queries.
    Say for instance i am coexisting exchange 2010 with exchange 2013 .Unfortunately if all of my exchange 2013 servers goes down .
    Q1 .On that time will the internal outlook users having their mailboxes on exchange 2010 can be able to connect mailboxes without any issues ? In case if they face any issues what kind of issues will they be? Because why i am asking is we should have pointed
    the autodiscover service to exchange 2013 during coexistence.
    When an user closes and reopens the outlook after whole exchange 2013 environment failure ,outlook will first query the autodiscover service for the profile changes to get it updated on users outlook profile.In such case autodiscover service will not be
    reachable and i wanted to know will that affects the internal client connectivity for outlook users having their mailboxes on exchange 2010.
    Q2. Apart from outlook internal users connectivity ,what kind of exchange services(i.e owa,active sync,pop,external OA and imap) will get affected when whole exchange 2013 environment goes down during coexistence ?
    I have read the below mentioned statement on this awesome blog but still i wanted to clarify with you all on my scenario.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2014/03/12/client-connectivity-in-an-exchange-2013-coexistence-environment.aspx<o:p></o:p>
    Internal Outlook Connectivity
    For internal Outlook clients using RPC/TCP connectivity whose mailboxes exist on Exchange 2010, they will still connect to the Exchange 2010 RPC Client Access array endpoint.
    For internal Outlook clients using RPC/TCP connectivity whose mailboxes exist on Exchange 2007, they will still connect directly to the Exchange 2007 Mailbox server instance hosting the mailbox.
    Please share me your suggestions and that would help me a lot .
    Regards
    S.Nithyanandham

    Hi Winnie Liang ,
    Thanks a lot for your reply.
    Scenario  1 : for internal outlook connectivity
    We have below settings for exchange 2010 autodiscover.
    mail.domain.com - will be the namespace for internal autodiscover URI for all the exchange 2010 cas serves
    We are going to have below settings for exchange 2013 autodiscover.
    mail.domain.com - will be the namespace for internal autodiscover URI for all the exchange 2013 cas serves
    During coexistence mail.domain.com will be pointed to exchange 2013 cas servers . I mean to say if we try to resolve the mail.domain.com it will get resolved in to the exchange 2013 cas servers.
    So on such case if anything happened wrong to the new environment or else if entire environment goes down .Do we face any issues while outlook users connect to existing mailboxes in exchange 2010 ?
    Because why i am asking is ,on the below mentioned article i have read all the autodiscover request will go via exchange 2013 cas servers during coexistence.That means all the existing mailboxes in exchange 2010 will also have to query exchange 2013 cas
    servers for autodiscover request.During the whole exchange 2013 environemnt failure whenever the user tries to close and open outlook .Outlook will first queries the autodiscover service for any changes happened on that particular mailbox and it will try to
    get it updated on user profile.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2014/03/12/client-connectivity-in-an-exchange-2013-coexistence-environment.aspx
    Would it be possible to make the exchange 2010 mailbox users to query only the scp points which belongs to the exchange 2010 cas servers for autodiscover request ?
    Scenario 2: For exchange services
    mail.domain.com - will be the namespace for all the exchange 2010 services (i.e owa,activesync,external outlook anywhere,pop,imap)
    mail.domain.com - will be the namespace for all the exchange 2013 services (i.e owa,activesync,external outlook anywhere,pop,imap)
    What about the above services will it get affected during whole exchange 2013 environment failure ?
    Note : We are not facing this issue , i hope everything goes well in my environment while doing coexistence i am just asking this question on my own interest?
    Regards
    S.Nithyanandham
    Thanks S.Nithyanandham

  • How to get clients connected in WMS on windows server 2008 with c# coding

    Sorry to bother anyone about this question.
    Can anyone knows how to retrieve amount of client connection to Windows Media Server in real time same as WMS does on server console by c# programming ?
    I got logfiles of WMS in system32 directory for details but it must be off-line of all connections which will able to get those informations for doing anything,but in this case I want real time client connection
    at online when a client connects to WMS that I will get amout of that client also.
    I have tried to search Windows Media Service SDK to develop this on my Windows 7 OS,but I did not find that really.
    Can anyone knows this,please ?
    Regards,
    BigBerm

    Hi SYaGCi,
    Denis is right this is actually documented in the Supported Platforms Documentation:
    "Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are new platform support additions in Service Pack 3 which are only available for support on the SP3 full release install of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise. The SP3 patch only release of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise does not provide support for these two new platforms."
    Kind regards,
    John
