Always return to install menu after the installation of windows 7
When I have installed windows 7 (Ultimate, 64bit version) on my macbook pro using DVD, the computer reboot and return to windows 7 install menu again. The start menu just didn't come up. I have already followed all the procedure (downloaded boot camp in a 8 GB USB flash drive, formatted in FAT32, and then inserted the DVD to install), while I have checked the version of my macbook pro (13-inch mid 2009) that should be fine to install it. I have tried to ejected the DVD and reboot again, nothing happened but a black screen with words "Non-system disk" came out. That means I have not finished the installation process. Does anyone know why would this happened and how to solve it? Thank you very much.

My guess is that your operating system got updated to Mavericks and that you are running an old version of Lightroom:

No Icons in Start menu after the Installation of 9i

unfortunately the installation program of developer suite 9i did not create any icons in my start menu. is there any way of installing them manualy using the installer ? or can somebody just send me them (the complete icon set including discover, reports, forms and so on...) to this email: [email protected]

regardsThe icons are contained within the executales. To create an icon for Forms, just select to create a shortcut for the Forms ifbld90.exe file and this will have the Forms icon. There is a folder in the Explorer that contains all program icons that are accessible from the start menu. Just drag and drop your short cut into it.
I would suggest to rerun the installer if not already done.

My 10.9.0.1 internal mac was ruined after the installation of Windows Server 2012 on boot camp
Hi Everyone. I've been trying to install Windows Server 2012 on my boot camp. Well, soon after the 2012 was installed, my mac os 10.9.0.1 was ruined. When I pressed on the option key while the imac was booting, I can see the icon of "10.9.0.1 recovery". But after I chose it, the apple tried very hard to boot it up with a progress bar below the apple icon. The computer shut down itself after the progress bar reached the end. I've tried boot it up with the installation CD and tried to repair the Macintosh HD in Disk Uitilites but no use. It was said the hard drive cannot be repaired and better be reformat. Currently I can only boot up my mac from my SuperDuper external clone drive. Anyone could give me wise advices to fix this problem please?
The "wise advices" I can offer are:
Read the Boot Camp documentation before trying to reinstall Windows Server. Windows Server is not supported by Boot Camp
Erase and reformat your hard drive. Reinstall OSx then restore your data from your backup.
Use a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox to install Windows Server -
I have a 4th gen. ipod touch. It has software 4.2.1 and itunes always tells me I need to update to ios 6. I always click download and install. After the download is complete, nothing happens. It doesn't install on its own and there is no option to install manually.. Thanks.
Are you sure it is a 4G iPod? Does it have a camera?

Last week I've install Mac OS X Mountain Lion and then after the installation finish my IMAC start up in verbose mode. How can I turn off this mode and start my IMAC normally. I've try to key in the code "sudo nvram boot-args=" in terminal also.

I have Macromedia Fireworks 3.0 and the install process doesn´t run! After the installation the message is: fireworks cannot run. the resource files are missing or damaged. I use Windows 8.1. Antworten auf Deutsch wären super!
As far as I know there is no download resource for older Macromedia programs and it is highly unlikely that one as old as version 3 of Fireworks will be able to work on a Windows 8.1 system. I was unable to get a Studio 8 version installation on a Vista system, and likely even an XP system (cannot remember that far back).

Not able to open Admin Tool in OBIEE 10.1.3.1 after the installation

After installing OBIEE (10.1.3.4.1 in Windows) i am not able to open Admin tool,when i click on the Administration it doesnt respond and i dont see any error message either.i have installed 10.1.3.1 several times before and i never faced this type of issue.I re-installed 4- 5 times and overwritten the existing s/w but still see the same issue.I am able to start the services and default RPD is working fine but not able to open the RPD and also i am able to launch the Catalog Manager.
I searched online but it didn't help me,please share if anyone has faced the similar issue before and found the resolution.i tried to launch the Admin tool from OracleBI\server\Bin after the installation but its not responding,seems issue with Admin Tool as i am able to launch other applications.

Who kills your iPod after the installation of iPod updater?
Hello all,
First, sorry for my poor English. I am not a professional nor a technician and I could be wrong, so please correct me. There are many problems reported mainly from the PC users that their iPod can't be recognized nor mounted after the installation of the latest iPod updater. Most of them claimed that the iPod updater kills their beloved iPods. Before we jump to a conclusion, we must understand what is iPod, and how does the iPod update work.
I believe that iPod equals a basic computer and need a OS in order to communicate with the PC. Installation the Updater will format the Hard disk of the iPod and then install the simple OS, so if we open the iPod updater file, it will show a window with two buttons i.e. Restore and Update, an Update is to copy the latest OS over the old version, but the Restore will format the hard disk before it install the OS over it. And importantly, during this process, the iPod needs sufficient of power to complete the upgrade, however, the problem comes just after the format, and the PC's USB (only 2 will work not 1.1) does not supply the stable power,even some cases that iPod does not get charge in the half way of installatin (a proper installation, you will see a running bar showing on the iPod screen just after the format), so you can imagine a hard disk got format but only got an uncompleted OS, of course, the iPod would not get recognized and mounted, and do not manage to communicate with the computer. At this stage the iPod will show a Sad iPod icon, a folder with exclamaiton points or a battery charging icon.
So, what would you do when it reach at this stage, a Reset would not work, and you would not able to do the Restore as the iPod is totally unrecognized by the computer.
Therefore, is there anyway to solve this problem, in my opinion and from my past experience, the answer is "yes", the simple way is to put your iPod in Disk Mode, when it plug to the computer, it will show as an external Hard Disk, you must fix it by doing a format (RESTORE would not work at this stage as it still can't recognized and mounted), in Mac we can use "Disk Utility" but the XP would not allow you to do the format in FAT32. After the formatting, replug the iPod with the computer, then it can be mounted and allow you to do the RESTORE.
In addition, I find an interesting point is, if your iPod formatted with a Mac, you will have better chance to be mounted with a PC, even your iPod does not complete the process of the installation of the iPod updater, and a PC formatted iPod will be likely to be fixed by a Mac as well.
How should we do before the update of the lastest software, for the XP user please do the following:-
1. Go to the system restore and create a check point in order to revert back to the previous version of the iPod updater, or do the back up using the 3rd party software such as Ghost or Go Back.
2. To have a test and make sure the PC's USB works properly. You can use the iPod or a PDA, and just make sure it got charged.
3. Have your iPod a full charge before the installation of the iPod updater

Let's be real clear here -- are you saying you are using Internet Explorer and when you try and download Mozilla Firefox it gets around 75% through and shuts down?
If so there is something wrong with your computer -- or at least IE. I rarely, if ever, recommend this, but it might be time to reformat your hard drive and reinstall your OS (if you are even thinking about doing this the first thing you must do is back up all your data files, preferably to writable media like DVDR or CDR).
If you have a friend with a computer perhaps you can get them to download both the latest iTunes as well as (more importantly) the latest firmware updater, and then install them on your machine (they can write them to their own CD).
The other thing that occurs to me is you might not be logged in as admin on that computer -- make sure you are doing this and are the only user.
Otherwise my brain is fuzzy right now -- perhaps someone else can jump in after you reply (I'm right in the middle of packing for a cross country move and only able to spend about five minutes a day on this board). -

I want to added a menu under 'File' menu after the plug-in has started.
Through the shell example in SDK, i am able to add menus on plug-in startup but cant figure out how to add menus after the plug-in has started.
Is it possible to do so? If yes, then how to do it?

HiteshThe suites should be the same, namely AIMenu.h's AIMenuSuite. The calls are fairly self-explanatory I think, though if you have questions fire away & hopefully I can help.
The only thing that might be tricky is that it wants a reference to your plugin. Typically you'd do that in response to a selector/caller combination that included a message -- the message always has such a reference. If that's the only thing you're missing, the simple answer is to grab that from one of the early messages and stow it in a static variable somewhere so you can use it later; it won't change, so that's perfectly acceptable. -
Doesn't return to main menu after slideshow
I put together some photos in iPhoto and then used the export to iDVD command to create a DVD of the slide show. I watched the slideshow all the way through in the preview mode in the iDVD app, and when the slideshow was finished, it went back to the main menu. Then I burned a DVD of it and put it in my home DVD player, and when it gets to the end of the slideshow it just stops and shows the screen on my TV like there is no DVD in the player - the blue screen with the DVD logo. I tried putting the DVD in my other computer and it returned to the main menu after the slideshow from the DVD, so the problem seems to just be with my Panasonic home DVD player.
I also have a movie on there that I created in iMovie. When that plays on my home DVD player it returns to the main menu when it is finished.
Any reason why this is doing this and what I can do about it? Since my internal DVD burner went bust, I'm using an external DVD burner, but I can't imagine that would have anything to do with it.
Thanks.Okay, I figured it out. After much heartache and frustration I finally figured it out. I couldn't quite accept the fact that it may have been due to the type of DVD I was using - especially when you can't go out and buy just one blank DVD.
Anyhow, after getting frustrated with iDVD, I decided to try putting the project together using DVD Studio Pro 3. What I noticed is that, when trying to build a slideshow, I couldn't use more than 99 photos. I actually had 101 photos in my slideshow. So, I went back to iDVD and took out 2 photos so that I had a total of 99 in the project. Then, when I played it in my home DVD player, it worked fine. It went back to the main menu after completing the slideshow.
So, moral of the story is, in iDVD 6, you can't use more than 99 photos in your slideshow. -
Package status not appended in the Add Remove Programs in control panel after the installation.

I have a strange problem with "Package status not appended in the Add Remove Programs after the installation.".
Like, onec the package is installed via SCCM, it should be listed in the Add Remove programs with the package name, version and the install date.
At times on random machine these details are not appended. Although the application works fine on the machine, but the correct details are not populated in Add/ Remove programs.
There is no issue with the package as it shows correct details on few other machine where it is installed.
This behaviour is random on random machines. Hence, very difficult to track the reason.

Yes, i have tried Jorgen's suggestion, ans as said earlier. It install the application smoothly on any other machine (any random machine) perfectly with correct details in Add Remove Programs.
As mentioned earlier, the same package, same environment, same set of machines with same OS, it installs correctly on few machines.. and on few its just misses to add correct details in Add Remove progs.
If it was related to package, how does it install corretly on other machines?? How does the same package installs correctly when done manually or by that means by PSEXEC.
To a matter of fact, we are checking our package for the multiple times now, just to make sure it is buldled correctly with correct install scripts. We are trying to search different multiple ways to see what makes the package to skip the
correct entry in the Add Remove.
To add, this is not with one package, it happens with random package with random machine. There is not typical behaviour that could be tracked.
All the installations done via SCCM 07, with admin account.
This looks more tricky and complex then as simple as saying, its the fault of packaging.
I hate to say this but this is NOT a CM07 problem, You will need to work with your packaging team, and use tools like process monitor,psexec and the msi log to determine why it is failing.
Your first step is to find a pc where you can consistent get the setup to fails. once you get that you can use process monitor and the msi log files to determine what is going on.
