Always show"Waiting for activation, it may take some time to"

I just bought a iphone5,but it always show "Waiting for activation, it may take some time to",i just can use Wifi, don't know what happen

Congrats on the new phone abochoa! Ann154 & gina7239 are right. The SIM activation can take a bit, and it's best to make sure the SIM was meant for the number you're activating. Here's a great site for help with the initial set up and activation of your new iPhone 5: http://bit.ly/Vl0NrS. If it takes more than an hour to activate, try powering the phone down and removing the SIM for a minute to refresh the phone's connection to the WiFi network and activation process.
Thank you

I have a problem, everytime i turn on my Ipad, it appears " waiting for activation, this may need some time" then i choose dismiss, Ipad works normally, but the sentences that appear are disturbing. What should I do? How to activate Ipad since there is no option to activate athough i have plugged it into itunes many times? I live and use my ipad in Indonesia. Any of you know the solution? Is it because i live in Indonesia and i use Indonesian itunes account? Thanks

If you have the 3G version of the iPad and haven't purchased a 3G data plan, go to Settings > Cellular Data and turn cellular data off to stop the messages.

  • IPhone 4 ( waiting for activation this may take some time)?

How do I get my phone activated and get that message to go away?

Same thing with my new iPhone 4: "waiting to activate...." Then 1 hour, a few network restarts and power cycles later, here's what activated it.
From another ATT wireless phone (could be other ATT phone)
    - I called 611.
    - Pressed 2 to enter another phone number (mine for my new iPhone); listened to recording about me getting a new phone (yep).
    - Pressed 1 to activate my phone.
    - entered billing zip then last four digits of soc sec #.
    - Pressed 1 to really activate my new phone (and understood my old iPhone would be disabled phone-wise).
    - Turned my iPhone 4 off and waited for 5 minutes "while the cell system updates."
    - Turned my iPhone 4 ON and, yep, it activated.

  • IMessage is always showing "waiting for activation"...

iMessage is always showing "waiting for activation"... Same thing for facetime...
Do you know any fix for that?

Hey...  after having the SAME problem activating my iMessage (i had it working and having an factory unlocked iPhone 4S, i swapped SIM's once and then i couldn't get my number to activate again) a wonderful MAC GENIUS from my local store told me a solution that worked for another when all else fails (the DNS, auto-time, resetting, etc).
Call your carrier to see if they are blocking premium texts or third party texts.. some carriers have an auto-block to protect you from random charges or sometimes (like me) we put the block on ourselves.
I had my carrier remove this block and PRESTO... after they sent a network reset to my phone and i reset my network settings.. i turned on iMessage and FaceTime and they finally activated again!!!
I was able to put the premium block back on after and it still works just fine!!
Hope that works for those that couldn't get it to activate!

  • Face time shows waiting for activation , what can I do to solve this problem?, face time shows waiting for activation , what can I do to solve this problem?

when I try to set ON to face time , it shows "WAITING FOR ACTIVATION" and is not changing , please help me to solve this problem.

Where are you? What network are you on? Where did you get the iPhone?
FaceTime is blocked in much of the Middle East due to the laws there. Face Time WILL NOT work on the US T-Mobile Network. In order for Face Time to activate, you MUST have a text messaging plan or at least be able to send them (not blocked by the carrier). If you purchased the phone in another country, you MUST be able to send an international text message.

What's going suddenly after installing iOS 7.2 everything went crazy

Back up, Erase all content and settings, Restore iPhone (downloads fresh iOS), restore from backup.  Should fix.  You will not lose texts, etc.

  • Waiting for Activation i have an iphone 3g. iphone is from my old contract and i have given it to my girlfriend. she then went to the O2 store and they gave her a new sim card which is compatable with iphone 3g. O2 have told me the phone is not blocked.

" fault code,,,,,waiting for activation, this may take some time,,,,,"       O2 gave my gf the contract and the new sim card to go into my old iphone 3g which was with O2 previous, O2 have assured us that the phone's imei number is not blocked, they have also said the sim is activated and there is no reason why the phone should not work. the phone is out of date warranty. the sim card does work in other handsets, also my sim from my iphone 3gs does not work in the iphone 3g. i have spent hours litterally on the phone to O2 and now to apple, but because i am out of warranty apple want £25 just to even listen to me over the phone. someone please help me. i am getting very frustrated for hopefully what might be an easy fix for someone. i have done all the resets that are possibly humainly possible, i have done all the resores you can do, have sync'd on many occasions all to come up with the same fault. i am still getting O2 in the top left corner but with no bars and when trying to call it fails imediately. wifi is fine, it works as an ipod.

ONLY AT&T can legally/legitimately unlock it.  No one else at all.

  • How to get rid of "Waiting for Activation" on old iphone 3G?

Ok I just upgraded to the new 4 & planned on giving my old 3G to my son to play games, music, photos etc.
I'm in the process of re-syncing it with everything for him
But there seems to be a message on the screen "Waiting for Activation, this may take some time"
How do I get that to go away as I will NOT be activating this phone again, but it will basically be used like an ipod touch?
    Thanks.

Turn Airplane mode on followed by turning on wi-fi access.
The no longer activated SIM card will need to be inserted in the iPhone to restore the iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed and to install a firmware update or to complete the process - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated.

  • Waiting For Activation, help needed.

Hi, I have bought a iPhone 3G 8GB from ebay. I have checked the IMEI number on "checkmend" and there are no reported problems. It is apparently on o2 but I want to unlock it for use on Vodafone. I have bought a o2 pay as you go sim card so that I can get it unlocked properly but when I insert it I get the message "Waiting for activation, this may take a while" but it never goes until I press "dismiss" then it just says "No Service".
Under the carrier menu the only provider listed is Orange but under the "phone" menu in settings the last box does say o2!
Can anyone help? I've tried googling, restoring the iphone, uninstalling and re-installing itunes. Does anyone know what the problem could be or better still anyone know of a solution?

No way to tell really - I am always suspicious about 'the worlds largest, best, greatest ' etc checkers of anything. The four/five UK carriers all operate an IMEI block agreement between them and somehow I doubt that they would give up that information to a small company operating out of a Coach House in Gloucester
That said, who knows - its practically impossible to tell where a phone came from - you are not the first to ask by far! The others didnt manage to find out either. Sorry I cannot be more helpful - the only online checker that Apple have is a warranty checker but that won;t even tell you the country - just how much warranty left on it. https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

  • New iPad in Canada - "Waiting for Activation"

    Hi all,
Purchased a new iPad to day WiFi and 3G
Since I have a Rogers iPhone 4, I opted for a Bell micro-sim for the iPad. However, after downloading the carrier settings update and rebooting with 3.2.2, all I ever see is "Waiting for Activation. This may take some time". Been about 15 minutes as I write this.
Also, in the top left, all I see is No Service.
I know absolutely that I should have full bars from Bell in this location.
Is it normal to see No Service while "Waiting for Activation"? How long should this take on a Sunday??
    Thanks!!!
    Stu

I found the same message although I am with Telus. I tried to activate the SIM card online but I couldn't get it to work. I finally called Telus and they did it there (they did not charge me the telephone fee as it would not work online). However, my error was that I was following their instructions on the SIM card brochure - they neglected to mention that I had to do the activation on my regular computer, not on the IPad. When they walked me through it, I think we did it through Itunes. Good luck.
