Am I able to create a numbered field that increases each time a new form is created?

I am creating a form that will include a job number that needs to increase with each new job.
I would rather the document automatically update the job number instead of the operator.

by opening the original form using Acrobat Pro.  Using the "replace" feature under pages you can remove the old source and replace with a new one.  Save the file then close.  Reopen the file and chose create.  You can then modify fields if you moved the source around.  Kludgy but it worked.

  • Mandatory date field validation different if using a custom form... why?

    We are using SharePoint 2013 and have a custom list in which one of the fields is a mandatory date/time field.  When using the default "New" form, if I don't add any date and click the Save button, the form looks like it is submitted and then
    comes back with some red text indicating that I need a value for my date/time field.  If I simply create a new custom "New" form, and then click on the Save button without adding my date/time value, I get a black (not red) validation error.
    A couple things are going on here.  The error is displayed BEFORE any submit happens, unlike when using the default New form.  The validation message is different and is listed in black rather than red.  For other mandatory fields, the form
    does get submitted and then displays the validation error in red, although it is a different validation error message than when using the default New form.
    I don't care that the text is different, but it is an issue for us that the text is not in red.  Does anyone know why this is happening?
    Thanks - Peter

    Hi Peter,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to the alert message is red in the custom New form.
    Please open the custom New from in SharePoint web site, and save without type anything in the data field, then the alert message(black) displays. Click on F12 to open IE developer debug tool, click on the arrow , then click on the black message to find the
    HTML element id for the message, in my test, the id is ctl00_ctl42_g_fed984e8_446c_4fdb_a279_328c2c369be5_ff21_ctl00_ctl00_DateTimeField_ctl00 .
    Then click on Settings->Edit page, add a Content Edit web part to the custom New form page, edit the web part and add the following code into the Edit Source of the web part:
    <style type="text/css">
    #ctl00_ctl42_g_fed984e8_446c_4fdb_a279_328c2c369be5_ff21_ctl00_ctl00_DateTimeField_ctl00{
    color:#FF0000;
    </style>
    If you have multiple mandatory fields, you need to find each id for each field alert message, add #id{…}
    into <style …> </style> section.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Wendy

  • Updating Date field that is set as read only

    I have a date field that I have set the "HTML Form Element Attributes" to "readonly = "TRUE" " I would like to have the option of clearing the value in the date box without a computation, I'd like it to be java based so that it is "on the fly" without having to refresh...
    I have an example that I use that works on POPUP LOV's ...
    "<"img src="/i/delete.gif" onClick="document.getElementById('#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#_HIDDENVALUE').value='';document.getElementById('#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#').value=''" ">"
    Both examples are used here .. http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=22240:2
    Any ideas?

    Just use the same technique that you use for popup lovs except just use #CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#, not #CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#_HIDDENVALUE

  • Adobe Acrobat detected fields that aren't meant to be "fill in"

    Trying to make a fill-in form and noticed that Acrobat detected some fields that aren't actually fill in forms. How do I switch those so they don't show up as fill in form fields? Thanks for your help.

    The issue is that it took text that needed to stay and turned it into a fill in field so I can't delete it or else it deletes the text. Here's one example of what I mean. We have a portion of the form that is for office use only so it looks like this:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Office Use Only ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    That whole line needs to stay, but isn't a fill in field.

  • I created a form with Single Choice fields, 4 days with times listed. But, I want the user to only be able to choose one time, and the time chosen to be unavailable for other users. How do I do this?

    I created a form with Single Choice fields, 4 days with times listed. But, I want the user to only be able to choose one time, and the time chosen to be unavailable for other users. How do I do this? I have 4 blocks of Single Choice fields in order for the summary page to give me each day in the final report. But, I need the user to be able to make a selection of any day and time and that apointment to no longer be available to future users when they log in. Plus, when the user clicks on the time, they are unable to change their mind and choose another time. Here's the link if you want to see what I'm talking about: 2015-2016 Workload Apportionment Review

    I'm afraid not.    It's not rocket science but you need to do some coding.
    You'll need to find a script (php) and save it to your local site folder.  Then reference the script in your form's action attribute like so.
         <form action="path/form-to-email-script.php" >
    The input fields in your HTML form need to exactly match the script variables.
    I'm  assuming you're hosted on a Linux server which uses PHP code.  Linux servers are also case sensitive, so upper case names are not the same as lower case names.  It's usually best to use all lower case names in your form and script to avoid confusion.

  • Can I cause checking a box to add 1 to a calculated form field?  I have a field that sums the numbers entered in several previous fields and need to be able to add "1" if a checkbox is selected as well.

    Can I cause checking a box to add 1 to a calculated form field?  I have a field that sums the numbers entered in several previous fields and need to be able to add "1" if a checkbox is selected as well.

    I think it has something to do with the way the value of the check box is exported, but I'm not sure.  With nothing being exported to Data5, Data6 displays the sum of Data1-4 rounded down to the nearest whole number and updates automatically as Data1-4 are updated.
    Right now, assuming Data1-4 are 0, where data 5 is the output of the second example and any box is checked,  "1" is displayed in data5 but nothing is added to data 6. Selecting any other check box or deselecting that check box will cause data6 to add 1 even if data5 displays "0".  By way of example:
    Selecting Check box 16 results in Data5 displays 1 and Data6 displays zero.
    Then, if any or all of Checkbox17-20 are selected, Data5 displays 1 and Data6 displays 1.
    Then, if any or all of Checkbox17-20 are deselected, Data5 Displays 1 and Data6 displays1.
    Then, if Checkbox16 is deselected, Data5 displays 0 and Data6 displays 1.

  • Not able to create a table with more than 64 fields in dictionary

    Hi,
    I have created a java dictionary in Netweaver Developer studio. I have to create a table with more than 64 fields in it. I was able to create the table in dictionary, but when i tried to build it, I am getting an error message as "more than 64 fields are not allowed". If i create the table with 64 fields or below 64 fields, i can build the dictionary and deploy it.
    That is, when i create a table with more than 64 fieds, I am not able to compile the dictionary, But if i reduce the fields to 64 or below, i can compile the dictionary.
    Kindly help me to solve the problem.
    Regards,
    Sudheesh

    Hi,
    Sudheesh,as far as I am aware creating of fields in the table actually depends on the total width of table that can be used for various Vendors.
    So I actually tried out creating a table with too many fields,and I am reproducing the errors which I have obtained -
    <i>Error               Dictionary Generation: <b>DB2:checkWidth TMP_1: total width of table (198198 bytes) greater than allowed maximum (32696 bytes)</b>     TMP_1.dtdbtable     TestDictionary/src/packages
    Error               Dictionary Generation: <b>DB4:Table TMP_1: fixed length: 198366 (32767).</b>     TMP_1.dtdbtable     TestDictionary/src/packages
    Error               Dictionary Generation: <b>DB6:checkWidth TMP_1: total width of table (297200) including row overhead is greater than the allowed maximum for 16K tablespaces .</b>     TMP_1.dtdbtable     TestDictionary/src/packages
    Error               Dictionary Generation: <b>MSSQL:checkWidth TMP_1: total width(198215) greater than allowed maximum (8060)</b>     TMP_1.dtdbtable     TestDictionary/src/packages
    Error               Dictionary Generation: <b>SAPDB:checkWidth TMP_1: total width(198297) greater than allowed maximum (8088)</b>     TMP_1.dtdbtable     TestDictionary/src/packages
    Error               Dictionary Generation: Table TMP_1 is not generated     TMP_1.dtdbtable     TestDictionary/src/packages     </i>
    I hope you can understand what the errors state.I am trying to create a table whose total width(sum of width all columns) is greater than the maximum allowed for various Vendors,such as DB2,MSSQL,SAPDB etc.
    I hope this answer helps you create your table suitably

    Harish

  • How do i create a auto numbering field

    How do i create a field that is auto numbering?  Starting from 1017?
    Thanks

    Yes only one person will be using the form.  This is a inventory receiving report that is filled out everytime inventory is received and and new # is used each time.  I have been manually putting the number in the current field and would like it to be automatic now to help cut down on using the same # in error.

  • Not able to create a material document with movement type 103

    I am not able to create a material document with movement type 103,
    The system is populating the value as 101 .
    How do I create a matdoc with movement type 103?

    What is the error you receive? Please specify with message number.
    On MIGO, you need to change the default value mvmt type value to 103 before you enter the PO number to be able to do 103.
    Once this defualt value is set, you can enter the PO and item number in the document number fields and proceed with 103.
    But you cannot change the mvmt type for already entered items from 101-103 or vice versa.
    I think the 101-103 and 103-101 mvmt type conversion message is standard error message

  • Not able to create a customer master record with US as the country code

    Hey All,
    I am not able to create customer master data in the Transaction Code XD01/FD01 with the country code as US.
    The error message for the same is *NO JURISDICTION CODE* COULD BE DETERMINED. I have checked the tax code settings but could not locate the problem.
    I have checked the field in the account group(OBD2) but tax code is in  optional status
    and also checked the country settings for US in the transaction code OY17 still the same error message,
    but when I tried checking the settings for a different company code's customer data base (us in county code)
    I can see that there is a number mentioned in the address tab under tax jurisdiction field (beside time zone) which is not populating for this company code.
    So, do anyone know where exactly we mention this number so that it populates in that field of address.
    Hope am clear.
    hope to receive a solution
    thanks & regards
    vinila

    Hi,
    You need to maintain the JURISDICTION CODE for country US. This  JURISDICTION CODE code mainatanance purely FI/CO part.. it depends on the country's tax procedures.. Better take the help from your FI/CO consultant..
    Menu path for Defining tax jurisdiction code
    IMG -- Financial accounting -- Financial accounting global settings -- tax on sales and purchases -- basic settings -- define tax jurisdiction

    If the field is the material group or unit of weight, and the field is not ready for input, check whether the material is locked. • Not able to create interactive pdf

    Hello everyone,
    I'm not able to create an offline pdf using exclusively ABAP. I tried using the tutorial "Offline Interactive Forms Using ABAP" but i'm missing something. I allready created the form using transaction SFP, and my ABAP program is like this:
    REPORT ztest_interactive_forms.
    DATA: wa_lfa1 LIKE lfa1.
    DATA: fm_name TYPE funcname.
    DATA: fp_outputparams TYPE sfpoutputparams.
    DATA: fp_docparams TYPE sfpdocparams.
    DATA: fp_formoutput TYPE fpformoutput.
    PARAMETERS: p_lifnr LIKE lfa1-lifnr.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    SELECT SINGLE lifnr name1 name2 ort01 FROM lfa1 INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF wa_lfa1 WHERE lifnr = p_lifnr.
    first get name of the generated function module
    CALL FUNCTION 'FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'
    EXPORTING
    i_name = 'ZTEST_NCS'
    IMPORTING
    e_funcname = fm_name.
    Set output parameters and open spool job
    fp_outputparams-nodialog = 'X'. " suppress printer dialog popup
    fp_outputparams-getpdf = 'X'. " launch print preview
    CALL FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_OPEN'
    CHANGING
    ie_outputparams = fp_outputparams
    EXCEPTIONS
    cancel = 1
    usage_error = 2
    system_error = 3
    internal_error = 4
    OTHERS = 5.
    Set form language and country (->form locale)
    fp_docparams-langu = 'E'.
    fp_docparams-country = 'US'.
    fp_docparams-fillable = 'X'.
    Now call the generated function module
    CALL FUNCTION fm_name
    EXPORTING
    /1bcdwb/docparams = fp_docparams
    vendor_data = wa_lfa1
    IMPORTING
    /1bcdwb/formoutput = fp_formoutput
    EXCEPTIONS
    usage_error = 1
    system_error = 2
    internal_error = 3
    OTHERS = 4.
    Close spool job
    CALL FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_CLOSE'
    EXCEPTIONS
    usage_error = 1
    system_error = 2
    internal_error = 3
    OTHERS = 4.
    When function module "fm_name" is called, variable fp_formoutput is returned blank (0 pages).
    Can anyone help or suggest something ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Nuno Santos

    Hi,
    The default export parameter is /1bcdwb/formoutput of type
    fpformoutput. This parameter has to be evaluated in the calling program if the
    resulting document needs to be handled by the program itself. Export parameters
    can be added only for those interfaces that are compatible with Smart Forms.
    There is also only one standard exporting parameter of the form's generated
    function module: /1bcdwb/formoutput of type fpformoutput. It contains three
    fields:
    . pdf: Contains the PDF data in hexadecimal form if parameter getpdf of
    function module FP_JOB_OPEN is set to 'X'. This is required if your
    program has a download functionality or if you want to pass on your PDF to
    Business Communication Service to fax or e-mail it.
    Detail information on Business Communication Service can be found in the
    SAP Library, Topic .Generic Business Tools for Application Developers
    (BC-SRV-GBT).. See also standard demo reports BCS_EXAMPLE_...
    . pdl: contains the PDL data in hexadecimal form if parameter getpdl of
    function module FP_JOB_OPEN is set to 'X'.
    . pages: returns the number of pages that have been printed.

    Note:
    . getpdf: If set to 'X', the /1bcdwb/formoutput-pdf field of the form's generated
    function module will contain the PDF data in hexadecimal form. This is
    helpful for further processing the PDF file. A preview will not be possible if
    getpdf = 'X'
    Hope this will be helpfull.
