Am I able to embbed multiple file in Acrobat?

I am rather new with Acrobat and I have a question about 3D files. Am I able to have multiple 3D files embedded in one Adobe file with a template that has buttons that allow me to flip  between the embedded files?

Yes and no. There are a number of options:
You can place any number of 3D annotations on different pages or different positions on a page, and activate them in turn using buttons or mouse clicks. If they are set to 'floating window' mode, the thumbnails for each annotation can be designed as the buttons.
You can place all if your models into the same scene, and use 3D views or scripting to control the visibility of each part.
You can load new 3D models into an existing 3D scene using JavaScript, but cannot remove them again.
With some advanced work you can put a 3D annotation into a layer, and use buttons and scripting to control the layer visibility.
Remember that any technique which involves activating and deactivating 3D annotations will result in delays, as Acrobat / Reader as a lot of computing to to whenever it creates or unloads the 3D model from memory. In a complicated file it may take a few seconds to switch between annotations.

  • Batch create Multiple files in Acrobat X and X1 cannot convert Word 2010 with graphics

I work for an exams board where hundreds of exam papers are produced. Once approved, these exams are converted to PDF and sent to print.  Using the Batch Create Multiple Files option is therefore essential to getting these papers print ready on time.  We have found that using this function to convert multiple Word 2010 files with graphics will not render it properly.  It deconstructs the graphics which loses the integrity of the exam paper.
I have trialled the same group of files on Acrobat X1 with the same result.
Have other Acrobat Pro Users experienced the same problem?  Is there a fix?

I have uploaded the files and shared them.  These are the links

  • Sender File(FTP protocol) Adapter not able to pick multiple files(eg *.xml)

    Dear Experts,
I have SAP PI 7.0 installed on HP-UX. I installed Guild FTP on my Windows Vista machine.Configured File to File scenario. Sender File adapter(FTP Transport Protocol)is able to process the 'input.xml' file placed in FTP INBOX folder.
I want to process all/multiple XML files. For this I have changed File Access Parameters in Sender Communication channel as:
    Source Directory -   /INBOX
    File Name          -   *.xml
Immediately Sender Communication status went into red with error log messages :
Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "172.XX.XX.XX:21": java.lang.NullPointerException
Please let me know what is the issue. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi
    It should work with *.xml
Check with the connectivity as well.
If this is still unable to process files then check with the FTP server compatibility.
J2EE File adapter is based on RFC 959 and if GUILD FTP is non compatible to RFC format then exclusion mask may not work.

  • Packaging Multiple Files in Acrobat 9 Pro

I'm putting together a large report that will have multiple volumes of appendices. The hard copy will be in three-ring binders, with the main report, tables, figures, and appendices separated by tabs. A given appendix may contain many different supporting documents.
When I've prepared smaller reports, I've simply combined multiple individual PDFs into one large PDF. The largest of these PDFs cause performance problems with my machine and sometimes refuse to open altogether, so I don't think creating one gigantic PDF is a viable option for this current project. Is my best option to create a PDF Portfolio? I want to make sure that the recipients are able to navigate the electronic file(s) easily but are not able to alter them.
I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro in Windows XP.
    Thanks!

    Hello Martha,
It would be helpful having your native CAD file in order to deeply analyse this issue.
Might be a problem of display within Acrobat or a problem caused by the exporting process(export to PDF) of SEMulator 3D.

  • Cannot embed MOV file in Acrobat

I hope this is the right forum for my question - it's the closest one I could find...
My problem is that I get an error message when I try to embad a MOV file into a PDF using Acrobat 9. This has worked in the past. Now suddenly I'm being told the annotation cannot take place either because it can't find the file (but surely it can find it: it was among the items present to me to choose from), or because "the URL is unreachable (make sure the proxy server settings are correct)".
I should mention that these 'MOV' files are actually JPGs that I want to open in a floating window, and that I simply renamed from JPG to MOV so Acrobat's MOV-playing code would kick in. This is a technique I have used successfully in the past - unless the past ones were GIFs (I forgot which) - and furthermore, one can simply double-click these 'MOV' files in Windows Explorer and Quicktime opens them with no problem.
(As to the hypothesis that previous successes were with were with GIFs instead of JPGs. But I just tried that, and Acrobat perceived right away that the MIME types were different and didn't even initialize the authoring system. With JPGs re-named to MOVs, it gets past there, and only complains when you specify the parms (e.g. No Poster, etc.) and it tries to load it. With these renamed GIFs just as with the renamed JPGs, if you simply double-click the 'MOV' in Windows Explorer, Qucktime opens it with no problem.)
As to the 'proxy' issue, I do have a proxy set in my browser (Foxfire), but I have disabled it by chosing 'No proxy' in Options. Just to be sure, I re-booted, brought up Foxfire, and confirmed that it was still set to 'No proxy'. But I still get the error. What could it be?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

My earlier JPG > MOV solution still works beautifully, even in the latest versions of Acrobat Reader, but – as I have now sadly discovered – it leads to errors in the production of new examples with the current version of Acrobat, and even to a space-wasting and visually ugly result with the latest versions of Vegas Video, which is the app I used earlier to convert my JPGs to MOV in the first place. But thank you for your SWF solution, since that will at least enable me to open the graphic images in current versions of Acro Reader, despite the fact I will now have to include within the SWF itself a message saying ‘to close this window, click in the upper right hand corner of its border’ or some other tacky solution, such as a separate button within the page, departing from the style of all the other RMAs in the PDFs I’ve already prepared. Also, if I want to avoid the (minor, but ugly) letterboxing that occurs when the SWF windows are re-sized or moved, I’ll have to open them via the new interface with its compulsory icon, since that letterboxing occurs only when the SWFs were embedded in legacy mode.
(The fact that the letterboxing occurs only when the SWFs were embedded in legacy mode tells me that that little bug probably belongs to Adobe, not to the app creating the SWFs. Another bug that must belong to Adobe for the same reason is the fact that the Get From Media button does not work when the SWFs were added in legacy mode, but does work if one embeds through the new interface. Yet a THIRD problem – or at a least poor design given how I want things to work – is that the SWF windows can be dragged out of the confines of the Acrobat window if added in legacy mode, although not if added via the new interface. It seems likely that different sets of Adobe programmers were working on the new vs. legacy interfaces. I’m sorry to have to say these things since you seem to want to defend Adobe, but these are the facts as I see them.)
Thanks also for the heads-up you provided as to what I’ll have to contend with in the future. In view of the huge workload I already have on this project, however, instead of trying switch to an entirely different platform, I’m wondering if my best strategy might not be to just continue on my present course using Acrobat, and count on Adobe to resolve these issues in future versions. (Yes, I realize that could be a risky bet.) Let me ask, though, whether Flash or some other product (Flex? AIR?) would meet my needs anyway. Its essential that whatever product I choose have the ability for users to view videos frame by frame, and not slap the play-stop-pause-etc buttons over my sub-titles.
Also, while I’ve written only one app in Flash (a little cartoon clock that worked) - and that was 20 years ago - my impression is that it’s mainly for video. Two properties of my current project seem to make a product like Acrobat much more appropriate: (a) It’s basically TEXT – what I’m working on are research papers and an e-book in linguistics, in which the audio and video clips are examples to prove or illustrate points being argued for in paragraphs of connected prose, to be understood in relation to the full document, as in any article or book; and (b) there are often several of the media clips relating to a particular example grouped closely together: putting them all in the page would make for a much longer result that’s harder for a reader to follow when the clips span possibly several pages for each example. And there will be many, many examples. You can get a sense of what the project is about by having a look at www.vincentasl.info. But that website belongs to an early phase of the project, before it became necessary to add subtitles to all the sign language videos, and include lots more media clips for each example, in addition to graphs showing the rising and falling pitch for some of the audio examples (the situation with the SWF files we have been discussing).  If you’d like to see a sample of the latter, I’d be happy to send one to your e-mail address, as I don’t see a way to attach PDFs to posts in this forum.

  • How do I drag and drop multiple files on a control?

LabVIEW supports dragging and dropping a single file on a path control, and have the path control populated appropriately. I want a user to be able to highlight multiple files (say, from the OS Find File window, or anywhere really) and drop them into a path array control in LabVIEW. I was hoping putting a path control in an array would do the trick, but it didn't. The mouse cursor changes to the "+" icon as it did for a single file, but when I release the button the system just beeps. Is this even doable?
    Thanks, Bob Martin

I guess I was hoping that the path control would realize it was in an array, and starting with the actual control where the drop occurred (if more than one item of the array is visible) start populating subsequent slots with the other file paths.
I'm not sure how much work would be involved, but maybe I could make a control in VB that would accept the drop event and output the path array I'm looking for. I've never made a control in VB for LabVIEW before, so I'm leary of how much time that would take. I'll add this to my list of "things to do that never seem to get enough priority to do."

  • How do I retrieve multiple files from my trashcan?

I removed everything from my "finder" to my trashcan; I found that I had multiple duplicates in images, and I thought that was an easy way to get rid of them. But then my iPhoto started acting weird and when I contacted support, was told that I had to "put back" each file. There are roughly 17,000 images. I am overwhelmed to say the least. Suggestions? I tried highlighting several at a time, but that doesn't work.

Yes, but it puts the files into a .zip file that is "corrupted, encrypted, empty or in an incompatible format".

  • Only Able To Add One File At A Time From Mapped SharePoint (2013) Drive to Outlook (2010) E-mail

I am using SharePoint 2013. I have mapped several network drives. When adding files off SharePoint to an Outlook email, I can only add one file at a time. I can add multiple files IF they are not on SharePoint (e.g., stored locally, or on Dropbox); Previously,
when using SharePoint 2010, I was able to upload multiple files.
    ANy advice?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
There are two methods to add multiple files from SharePoint library to outlook emails:
Sync SharePoint library to outlook via “Connect to Outlook”, then you will find SharePoint Lists in outlook. Locate the library folder, you could select multiple items and drag them to an email.
Open SharePoint library via “Open with Explorer”, then you could selected multiple files and drag them to an email.

  • Unable to open multiple files of different types simultaneously

It seems  the MS has made some changes in Win7, and I am no longer able to open multiple files of different types (.doc, .pdf) in Explorer by highlighting the desired files and hitting Enter.  It still works if I select only one file type, but
the ability to open multiple files of different types has been in place since Win95, and maybe since Win3.11 (my memory is a little foggy that far back).

    Hi,
Yes, this feature was removed from Windows 7. Now you just can open multiple files which are the same type at once.

  • Download Multiple Files?? (Servlets/Jsp)

    Hello Forum Members,
I need to download multiple files from Server on a single click of button thats says "download". Using Servlets/Jsp only( I don't want to use applets/or Zip the files).
The scenario would be on the browser I will have 'n' number of checkboxes each corresponding to a file and there is a button that say's download. Once I click "download" the browser should prompt me to save in a directory.

I don't know if there's a Java implementation already out there (i'm sure there must be), but I think you'd need a separate Download Manager to be able to handle multiple file downloads. I'm all but positive that the standard download isn't gonna cut it, especially if the user selects a whole bunch of files. I don't think the built in download function allows for more than one file to download at a time, so unless you want a whole bunch of download windows all going at once, you'll need to either find (or implement) something that can.

  • Using Send to with multiple files in Sharepoint 2013

I believe I was able to copy multiple files using "Send To" just a week ago when I was testing things.  But then, it would not allow me to yesterday. It would only allow it if one file is selected.  Has there been a change? Or is there
a setting that would turn this on or off?  Thanks.

i dont think, there is option to copy multiple files using Send to Location function...its only for one document at a time. you can configure multiple send to connection.
there are other ways, i.e open with explorer and then copy multiple documents, or create workflow which copy documents from one library to other.

  • Attach multiple files to wiki's

When trying to attach large numbers of documents to wiki's I'm encountering the following problem:
The 'choose file' only allows a single attachment at a time (i.e. no command clicking to select multiple files to attach). When combining multiple files in a folder and then compressing the folder to a zip archive this archive is not 'unpacked' on the wiki page but maintains to be a zip archive.
How can I upload hundreds of background files to wiki pages in manageable groups without having to spend many hours individually uploading the files?
    Thx.

Well, I'd say there's a gajillion ways to do it.  Not the way you're hoping for though.
Create a webdav share that contains the files you're looking for.
Create a link in your wiki page that links to the files.
Create a basic HTML page that has a file listing of the files in question.
Link to that page from the wiki.
Upload the file to a drop box account.
Create a link in the wiki in question that connects to your drop box folder.
Upload the files to google docs (if they're pdf's or text documents)
Again... Create a link in the wiki in question that connects to your google doc.
You're going to have to be a little creative I'm afraid.
I'm sure that the reason for not being able to select multiple files is security.  Imagine that I'm a wiley user that likes to clog up servers.  I'd be happy to select 10,000 - 1 byte files and upload them all at the same time to your wiki.  Imagine what your wiki page would look like!  TEN THOUSAND. Actually...  It might be kinda funny!
Anyways - Sometimes when spending too much time on a problem you get caught up in the problem itself.  I'm sure that there are reasons for you wanting to have those files stored right within the wiki data folder, but truly there's no way to do it from the wiki web page itself.  Be creative, and be flexible.

  • Uploading multiple files in Contribute CS3

I have a website where I am constantly creating new pages
almost everyday. I use Adobe Contribute CS3. I began creating
drafts (all from one template) and saving them for later. Now, I'm
have almost 200 drafts to publish to the server and the process is
relatively slow. Is there a way that I can upload all these drafts
to my server at one time? I found this page on Google (click the
    link)
    http://www.vdsys.com/contribute/answer-addmultdocs.htm
, but this process does not seem to work for me.Does it work for
    anyone else? I need HELP.

    Thanks Vikas,
I spotted the multiple file browse button solution from a forum search. I'm trying to avoid it as I don't want to have to force the user to have to step through the file browse process for each file. I'd rather they opened a single dialog (of some kind) and selected multiple files and hit upload once only.
I Googled the second one as well. Similar problem as above, although, it's getting closer. I found a few examples using a java applet. Most of them I'd need to buy, which I'm not against in principle, just rather find something I can code myself.
This is what I've been asked for.
"....Files should be uploadable from a dialog box similar to the one provided in MS Outlook where 1 or more attachments can be uploaded to an email in a single process......[it is] important that the user is able to select multiple files in a single step and are not forced to step through a repetative process for each file....".
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers
