Am I doing this wrong, E4200 and WAP610n

HI all
I have a E4200 router that is located in my office on the second floor which is a bedroom. Due to the construction of my house here in FL, The signal is greatly diminished by the time it reached the first floor. I would like to remedy this but not sure of the best way.
I have a 50 foot run of cat6 from the E4200 that I was able to snake down into my main living area downstairs.
So, what is going to be a solution to get a strong/full wireless signal downstairs?
is that the WAP610N?
If so how do I set it up.
I have a WET610 but that does not seem to want to work (unless I have it configured wrong)
A rep on chat suggested the RE1000 but I tried that once before it while it improved range a litle it slowed down the WHOLE network big time.
Really appreciate your help in getting this licked. I am not above getting a second E4200 as I am running tomato fw on the one upstairs
thanks

Hi,
Here's what you could do.
All 3 devices should have the same wireless settings. Like the ssid and the type of wireless security. Wireless channel may vary from all 3 devices.
E4200 ---- WAP610N ---- WET610N
Follow these steps for the configuration:
Manually configuring a Linksys Wireless-N Bridge to work with an access point (WET610N)
http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=7a41823e18f54c4cb22a97ec238e82eb_Manually_configur...
Setting up the WAP610N
http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=22519
In this set up, the WAP610N is now gonna be on the 1st floor wirelessly extending the csignal downstairs from the router then WET610N will act as a wireless adapter where you could hardwired it to a non-wireless capable pc (an option for you).
BTW, assigned or change the ip address of the WAP610N in line with the router. For example, the router has 192.168.1.1, on the WAP610N you can assign 192.168.1.6 perhaps. Follow this link;http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=830d397381d541878ee23f43679c1834_20525.xml&pid=80&...
Hope this helps.

Hi there I've just installed CS4 Pro on Windows 7 64bit and got exactly the same result as you. Did you manage to find anything out, because the thing that bothered me was the limited functionality (what ever that is). Is it just a case of Windows 7 having a newer version of ActiveX already installed?

It sounds like your PC or Mac's internal HD is full. You need to delete some data or move it to an external hard drive or storage device of some sort before you'll be able to successfully complete the restore.

  • Work-around The Whine: why does this work? And is it BAD?

Hello everybody, sorry to bring up The Whine again, but I was wondering if anyone can figure out why the following trick works to eliminate the noise.
Also, could doing this regularly (all the time, basically) potentially be bad for the system in any way?
This is the work-around I've been using:
    1. Open Photobooth, then Force Quit that application (you must Force Quit rather than simply quit)
    2. Put the Macbook to sleep, waiting a few seconds until the indicator light starts pulsing.
    3. Wake up the computer.
Voila. That always does the trick, eliminating the whine until either the next time I boot up or the next time I open and quit Photobooth in the normal way.
I suppose force quitting may keep the processor slightly busy somehow?
    Don't know...

    John P.,
You say that all the notebooks that you know of make
some kind of noise. How many notebooks is that? Not
trying to be a jerk or anything but it better be like
dozens and dozens to make this claim. I have heard
the exact opposite of this claim from users that have
owned a few notebooks as well.
    Hi Jerome,
    No problem... I'll clarify..
5 notebooks personally, so when I say "all notebooks that I know of", it's a true claim because that is exactly what I'm saying.
If this noise is caused by capacitor that is at some
miniature threshold then why does the noise go away
when said remedies are employed? Does the capacitor
get bigger? Doesn't make sense but I appreiate that
you want to reassure original poster.
Actually I may have misspoken--it may be called a "voltage regulator" and it sits directly West of the CPU and controller chip. They do make noise and from what I have been told and remember, they can dampen it w/ a capacitor but that's about it. It's just the nature of the beast for that type of component, I'm told.
What "I" think it may be is the power fluctuations, or lack thereof, in the Intel chip causing it--when you put a load on it, there's a power fluctuation because your CPU usage is going up/down a little bit, but when you're not doing anything it's very little it causes it to make a little noise. No big deal, but just as long as it's not blaring in your ear when you're trying to use your computer. My ZV6000 does the same thing, but it doesn't matter when you've got a load or not--seems to do it more when I have Cool 'n' Quiet enabled.
This is not right. I am sorry.
If this noise is normal then I'll take no MacBook.
You know it is being fixed apparently on the MacBook
    Pros by motherboard replacement.
I never said anything about pro. I don't own one, nor have I used one. I can't say how profound in comparison to the Macbook (non pro) it is.
I'm sure if Apple thought it was a big enough problem, they would act either more quickly about it, but it's not stopping me from checking my e-mail or going on the Web.

  • How does this program group and cluster these button values into an array?

In the attached program, there are 6 buttons in a cluster and 1 individual button. These buttons control a bunch of different relays to control power to different components of a single device. Right now the program works in that I can control the 6 buttons, the LED turns on in the board and the power is being transmitted. What I do not understand is how it is doing this.  I ran the program with the highlight execution on and at the start of the read from array component, if say I pressed button 6 and hit ok, it reads #6, where did these get defined and labled? and if i wanted to add another button/relay how do i do this? If someone could explain step by step how this is grouping the relays on the board into an array and then controling them I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

The #6 your seeing is the number of elements in the array not a value for the array.
Now for some deeper explainations.   From the code it appears that exactly 1 of 6 valves may be used and an additional valve may be in one of two possible states.
When the program is run the cluster of buttons is initiallized to all False.  and we enter the outer while loop where a sequence structure starts.  In the first frame of the sequence we initiallize a shift register to hold the current value of "Buttons." and this loop runs unthrottled (Add a wait for next ms multiple to this loop to prevent using 100% of the CPU!)
For each iteration the buttons are read and if a change has occured to any value buttons that were previously True are reset to False to prevent opening more than one valve.
When the user presses OK or stop- the current "Buttons" value is passed to the next frame.  This frame convertsthe 7 boolean values to a integer where each valve is controlled by a seperate bit of the integer (Isolation is bit 6 and bits 0-5 each control a mixing valve)
Now I'd strongly recommend reworking the DAQmx calls- it is pointless to initiallize the task each time you want to use it- Create the task in the initialzation case and wait until the user exits to destroy the task.  And well a sequence structures are frowned on- (there are better ways to do this)
As far as adding a relay- right now the relays are associated to the hardware by their index position in the cluster (element 1 = bit 0 etc....) to add a new valve you would need to decide what bit you would use to drive it and code in that bits' value to write a 0 in that bit.  (hint the 40 constant is realy 0x40 right-click>visable items>show radix )
Let me know if you need further elaboration

Make sure that no other Macs are backing up at the current time
Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
    Wait 10 seconds
Plug the power cord back into the back of the Time Capsule
This simple reset will fix this issue 98% of the time. If you happen to be in the unlucky 2% category, post back and we'll provide more information.

If a reset doesn't work, try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

  • What does this mean? and how to I get the propertyChange event

    what does this mean?
"This property can be used as the source for data binding. When this property is modified, it dispatches the propertyChange event."
how would i impliment this to find when the value changes?

Assign event listener to the target class having this property to that event type PropertyChangeEvent.PROPERTY_CHANGE
and you'll have it handled post factum. It's better to use setter&getter approach to handle value changes for particular property.
