when i look around and see what compines are looking for, i see they mostly want people who can
code games, make 3D animations, create AI for games

in c/c++ or i dont know if they can do it with C# or not, i mean should i start learing C/C++/C# and give up on java, becuase i really am sick of working for 7.25 in grocery store =) (i am 19 btw and new to programming world) i wanne have a real job hopfully so i need to you know your oppion about this

I don't know where you're looking at, but in nearly all markets, there is higher demand for enterprise developers, then people who can code games. I'm not saying one approach is any more challenging (or fun or higher-paying) then the other, but, if you're looking for the skill set that will just get you the most job opportunities, then enterprise development is almost always your safest bet. If you want to code games, then, yeah, java probably isn't that marketable, but, if you just want to find a development job, knowing java will lead to more opportunities then knowing a different language that is not widely used at the enterprise level.

I'm VERY happy with the results (fast!). However, the really strange thing is this - there is now a thin yellow line, way over on the right side of the screen, which goes from top to bottom, and stays there no matter where I go or what I do. I've never seen anything like this! It was not there before I did the upgrades. Anyone out there ever heard of such a preposterous thing ~ or have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

In previous versions of i Tunes I could highlight a song in my library and a genious list would show on the right side of the screen listing songs that were like the one highlighted. Now I do not get that list. Is there a way to get that back?

Facebook is not loading properly and all my text and images are lined up along the right side of the page. How can this get fixed to the way it use to look?
Everyone who logs into Facebook on my Firefox has this problem however if we use Internet Explorer - facebook looks normal.If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.

Yep. For all us spreadsheet geeks, this is a real sinker. Anyway, here's my workaround. Not free, unfortunately. I have a macro program called QuicKeys installed on my Mac that I've used for countless years, and which I highly recommend for other reasons. Anyway, one of QuicKeys' many features is simulating a scroll wheel using the keyboard. I have it simulating a cell-by-cell scroll using cmd-arrow keys. The only drawback is that I have to release the cmd key each time I want to move another cell.

Bookmarks - Hate the firefox version. Double click on star in the address window to bookmark the site and the pop-up window is too small and user unfriendly. And when in the bookmark window and have bookmarks on the right side of the screen there is no way to know which folder on the left you are actually in. Is there any way to upgrade the bookmarks feature. So frustrating I might actually go back to IE because of this. Thanks.

I have an second issue as well: When I hook off all-day it comes up with an 8 hour event!
And then if I put in a late start hour it pushes end time to next day due to the 8 hour event suggestion.
All in all this gives a lot of changes just to enter an event.

Is there a way to make the menus appear on the right-side of the screen?
Hi, I'm wondering if it is possible to make all the menus on my iPod onto the right-side of the screen rather than the left?
I'm asking this possible I recently had my friend step on my iPod and the complete left half of the screen is gone but the right half still works fine. And since the menus are all on the left-side, I cannot view them and it is extremely hard to navigate the iPod. Everything else works fine on the iPod except the screen. Is there certain software or anyway possible to change the menus orientation? This would be very helpful to me... Any help at all is appreciated!

RichardNo, not possible to the best of my knowledge. You can get the screen replaced or do it yourself. There are a number of online places that sell parts and also perform iPod repairs. To have one of the online places do it for you and turn it around in a day, expect to pay around $90-$100. Parts can be had for about $60-$80 if you want to do it yourself. eBay may have LCD screens for less.

I have noticed my Firefox browser is having way too many incidences where it is "Not Responding". The browser freezes up for a second quite often and the "Not Responding" message will appear at the top of the screen.
The browser will also not scroll with either the scroll bar on the right nor with the mouse wheel. Both used to work in previous versions of Firefox, but it seems to have gotten worse since Firefox 5 0r 6. The same with the "Not Responding". It is happening more with Firefox 7 than in at least the past two versions.
Anybody else having these issues? Seems like they are hand-in-hand. Thanks for any and all help or advice. It's making me pretty angry since I'm online all day for work.
Just an FYI. At the bottom of my troubleshooting copy/paste is a suggestion to update the driver for my graphics. That was a no-go. I tried that.Thank you for this first reply! I'll have to give this a try later....the main laptop I experience this on crashed not more than an hour after I posted this issue. I'm on a tiny, slow netbook that hasn't had the same problem. Now I'm wondering if I picked up a Trojan on the main laptop and the "Not Responding" message is a side effect of a virus or Trojan.
One of the system .dll files has been corrupted and I'm not being allowed to use recovery discs, previous disc images, or any recovery options. That was an all day sucker yesterday and from what I've read on forums and have researched, it appears I'm going to need to reload the operating system. If it is indeed a Trojan/virus, I'm surprised it made it through my antivirus and firewall. Anything is possible, really.

My 17-inch early 2011 macbook pro keeps freezing on me. The freeze usually occurs when I'm importing or exporting pictures, when I stream anything, or If I am watching a dvd. The left side of the screen shifts to the right and the right side of the screen shifts to the left. lines also appear on my screen and I can not force quit any open application. I have not dropped my laptop at all.

I would like to avoid going to the an apple store to fix this problem if possible. The closest one to me is 40 miles away.
Help : )If you don't have the Applecare extended warranty then you will need to pay for the fix. The fix is a New Logic Board. It seems as your Graphics card is failing in some way. No there is no software fix for this.
The Graphic chip is soldered to the logic board and the only way to change/fix it is to replace the complete logic board.

I was processing pictures and the Basic function on the right has disappeared, the one that contains Exposure, Contrast etc. I now have only the Histogram, Paint Brush etc, then it goes to Tone Curve, HSL/Color/B&W and all others down to Camera Calibration. i have now found where the OS permission is located but cannot find a way to change it. Here is what I have done:
- Selected the Local Disk Folder
- Chose File>Get Info
- Click on Sharing and Permissions (It shows Read Only)
Now this is where I am stuck, the instruction in Apple Support says "Select a user or Group from the Name Column then choose the following Pop-Up menu in the Priviliges column(this is where the Read &Write option should be. I can't choose a user or group under the name column, all I have in the Name column is "Local Disk"
Can someone help me from here to convert to Read & Write, thanks -
The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. In order to solve it in a simpler way, I guessed that if the firefox scroll bar could be moved to the left side of the browser, this problem could be solved. So, can anybody help me?

The HUD Inspector in Full Screen View seems to position at the right margin of the image as a default(?) If I toggle the button in the top right of the HUD it 'unlocks' and I can drag it to where I prefer -- at the left margin; (for over a decade) my dock has resided at the right margin so all my slider manipulation over countless editing sessions in Aperture has been ingrained to work at the left margin -- but, the vast majority of the time, the HUD overlaps the image I am editing in this 'unlocked' mode.
Every occasionally I enter Full Screen View and it positions on the left margin *without* superimposition...(!) My great joy is modulated into aggravation, however, should my tracking cursor drift all the way 'out of bounds' -- to call in the hidden pane of adjacent images sequenced in the library... This dramatically shrinks the Full Screen display and re-locks the HUD; if I toggle the switch to re-xpand the image it re-positions at the right margin!!!! I SOOoooooo wish I knew how to control the default 'locked' margin of the HUD in Full Screen View...Drag it over to the Left. Then lock it there.

In Numbers 3, an arrow key moves the cursor one cell up, down, left or right.
Tab moves one cell right. Shift tab moves one cell left.
The command key and an arrow key will take the cursor to top, bottom, left or right of a table.
via the arrow keys (next to the letterM and question mark?).
I am puzzled by this. Between the letter M and ? I have < above comma (,) and > above full stop (.)
Shift command < zooms out and shift command > zooms in.

The drop down view by menu (Song, album, etc) at the right side of the iTunes window is like a ghost. It flashes into view for a millisecond once in awhile but never lets me click on it. Anyone know what this is about and what to do?
Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

Using values in the right side of the shuttle on another page.

On page 1 I have a shuttle item. I select some values and move them to the right side of the shuttle. Now I need to navigate to a second page (currently I'm controlling the navigation with a button) and pass the values from the right side of the shuttle on page 1 over to page 2. How do I get the values from the right side of the shuttle on page one over to page 2. If it's easier to use a pop-up than a second page 2 I'd love to do that, but same problem, how to use the values from the right side of the shuttle?
I've tried setting up a shuttle on page 2 and setting the values on the URL re-direct but, no luck! I also tried a PL/SQL (On Load- Before Header) page process on the second page (see code below) where I try to "work with" the shuttle values, also no luck.
Any ideas?

The value of a Shuttle item is a colon-delimited string. As colon is used as a special character in the APEX URLs (what we call the f?p notation) you can’t pass a Shuttle value using a URL (similar to the limitation of passing a traditional time notation like 10:00 in a URL, for the same reason).
Whenever you are submitting a page, APEX automatically saves the value of all the page items in session state, and it makes them available on any other page in the application. You can access them by using the bind variable notation with the item name (e.g. :P1_SHUTTLE1).
In your case, all you need to do is to submit page 1 (even if you don’t run any after submit activities) and then you can use the Shuttle item value from page 1 as the default value of the Shuttle item on page 2, or use this value in any other way on page 2. Just remember that the value is a colon-delimited string and for any other use other than a Shuttle default value, you most likely need to parse it first.

Slideshow-Images not displaying in the right place on the screen
I am trying to use the SlideShow widget for the first time. I have a pretty basic slideshow with six images that I want to display. When I preview it in IE or Firefox,what I get is really weird. The first image displays in the right place. The second displays in the right place, but with a black box underneath it. The third displays under where it's supposed to go, with a black box above it. After this, the images alternate between where they're supposed to be and just below that, with a black box of the same size in the second location. I've looked at the source of other webpages that have working slide shows, and I don't see a difference between what I'm doing and what they're doing. Here is what I think is the relevant code. Can anyone suggest a way to fix this?
