I kept searching and diging in the n900 to find the icon for skype with no sucsses so am i missing somthing? Can some one tell me where to find it or download the app from.i go to skype site it says buy when i click i cant see buy or download link

Hi,
There are couple of ways to get started with Skype in N900. One mentioned in N900 support site (FAQs) is:
If you have existing Skype account, tap the Application menu icon and select Phone. Open the Phone menu (tap the title bar) and select Accounts > New. Select Skype as service and enter the account details and select Sign in. To create a new Skype account select Register new account and enter the user details.

Am i missing somthing about speed and coverage please help very very slow speeds!

i get speed test results of 1/10 of a megabyte per second all of the time regularly that is 100kbps many times it is also like .06 mbps. it takes forever to load web pages and i cant watch video! i called verizon many times becuase i can get 5 bars of evdo. 2 miles away in the vzw store my usb modem worked fine (about 1mbps) and it works better at home like @ half a mbps speed in the early morning like @ 6am. tech support told me after opening a trouble ticket they found this is a marginal coverage area and they will not be improving it in the near future. i dont know how the coverage area changes from morning to the rest of the day. i asked about possibly getting out of my contract and they said i had to still pay an early termination fee or produce a death certificate or military papers saying i was being deployed overseas. furthermore i was told since this is mobile broadband i should just go somewhere else when i need to use the mobile broadband card. i had so much trouble logging into this site because verizon keeps saying my password and username for this forum is not correct so i have to keep trying to make new ones. then somtimes just when i thought i had logged in it says the server is forbidden from accessing this site, which is the only time on any website i ever got this message. i just wish i could get the speeds they aadvertise or somthing even close to it so that i could load web pages. i feel like i am being forced to change to another wireless provider and pay an early termination fee because i cant do basic work and load web pages which is what i was promised according to their map which says i live in a good coverage area. i pay my bills on time every month and so i feel like i am not being treated fairly as a customer. am i missing somthing?

If it works everywhere else, then it does sound like a marginal service area. If no one is making use of the tower, then there could be a better signal to your residence in the morning. During peak times, the signal might not be as strong and could be degrading to the point where your speeds/connectivity gets questionable. Being inside a structure and what materials can also have an adverse effect. Also, your verbage is confusing. 100 kilobytes per second is a pretty average speed for EVDO. 1/10 of a megabyte a second is the same speed. Unless you are referring to .1 megabits per second, that is a whole different story. I'm assuming the latter if you are having problems loading pages, but again, if it's a marginal area VZW is showing on their side, that's probably the case. Also, the 3G map might not be the same as the Voice/1X map in your area. Maybe double check the map you're looking at.

Animation Tween Problem - Motion am I missing somthing..?

Screen shots, a simple fly-in, keep move slowly, then fly out, but for some crazy reason Premiere keeps creating a tween that does not exist and adding a bounce that looks pants... this is very, very simple animation it surely should not be doing this, or am I missing somthing, equally I'd love to have motion splines can I switch them on as this would likely fix the issue...

Well found the linear option etc, right click, but cannot find temporal & spatail, it would just be nice to have a spline on the motion position. To be frank Premiere's behaviour is just being odd in gerneral Ann. It just lost keyframes on the button/Badge element. Well there was none there but the animation still remained uneditable. Going to reload the project, but think it's likely best I pop out to After Effects for the Motion Graphics, or it will drive me bonkers lol

If your state (Hawaii) is not listed, that means you won't be able to get a Skype To Go number there at this time. It's also the same for the Online Numbers to receive telephone calls on a Skype account - Skype currently doesn't offer those numbers in the Hawaiian 808 area code either. Either Skype does not have a partner that can provide these services in Hawaii, or the costs of doing so are higher than Skype is willing to accept (Skype To Go numbers are free, and Online Numbers have the same rates in all countries/territories where they are available - US$ 18/3 months, US$ 60/year, or with a discount if you already have a subscription for calling phones).

Polymorphism -- This should be easy right --- or am I missing somthing obvi

I thought the polymorphic capabilities of Java would allow this. Am I doing something wrong.
For the example below assume that value and value2 are strings representing some value be it a decimal (Double) or a String. That we have already worked out what data type resides in the strings value and value2 as stored in the variable type.
With this code my compiler is telling me that the operator >= cannot be used on Object x. I thought that this object would now be handled as a Double due to polymorphism.
This is possible right?? or am I missing something really obvious?

This is possible right?? or am I missing something really obvious?It's not possible. You are missing a number of things.
* Polymorphism means that you can call a method that is defined in a superclass or interface that is the declared type (e.g. Object) and the implementation of the actual type (e.g. Double, String) gets called. For example, Object has a toString(), which means you can call that method on an Object and whichever actual implemention gets called. It does not mean that the compiler would allow you to call a method on an Object variable that is not defined in class Object. Otherwise, you could call anything on anything.
* Object does not define operator >=, and in fact Java does not support operator overloading. String has some operator support (not >= though) but that's it. Class Double also does not support any operators.
* In Java 1.5 however, there is a feature called autoboxing which converts primitives (e.g. double) to wrappers (e.g. Double), and because of this conversion it effectively appears you can use operators on these wrapper types.
Now, there is a way to accomplish what you want, by using interface Comparable. Both Double and String implement this interface.

Airport Extreme setup- No internet, am I missing somthing?

I used Airport Utility to set up an Airport Extreme network. I have a Comcast modem and a USB printer hooked to it. Both the cable modem and the Airport Extreme LED's indicate they are functioning correctly. My iMac recognizes the network I set up but I cant connect to the internet. If I hook the cable modem to the iMac directly I can use the internet or I can also connect using a near by unsecured wireless network, I just cant connect my Airport Extreme.
Is there a control in the system (Networking and/or Internet sharing) that I need to set? Any ideas? Thanks...

Cable modems need a complete reset whenever you make a change.
Push the reset button on the modem and power it down
Pull the battery if it is easily accessible
Power off everything else on your network...all devices....order is not important
Wait at least 30 minutes
Make sure the modem's ethernet cable is connected to the WAN por (circle of dots icon) on the AirPort Extreme
Power up the modem first and let it run by itself for 4-5 minutes
Power up the AirPort Extreme the same way
Power up each device the same way
Post on your results

Skype missed calls

Im getting repeated messages that i've missed a skype call on the notifications. these are spurious but we think reflect the other person logging on to their skype account. any suggestions how to stop them?

No Skype Numbers for Washington DC?

I'm new to Skype, so forgive me if I'm missing somthing here, but when I tried to set up a skype number and used the drop-down box to designate a state & area code, there was no option to designate Washington DC, so I couldn't proceed. Anyone know what I need to do? Thanks.

Using FireFox , I found Area Code 202 telephone numbers available for Washington, D.C. - listed under District of Columbia. Maine and Hawaii are two states I am aware of where Skype Numbers are not available.

Skype no longer working on Windows XP

Skype updated to Version 7.6. Now it does not launch. Deleted and attempted reinstallation. Completely failed! No icon on the Desktop etc. I assume that support for Windows XP has been withdrawn! veloce59

i've got IE7 installed on Windows XP (When I try donwloading I get a message: Internet Explorer 8 is not compatible with your system. You are running Windows XP 32-bit. Although Internet Explorer 8 will not run on your system, you can download Internet Explorer 8 for other operating systems. )

Sound muting problem after missed calls

Using Skype 4.9, but confirmed with 4.7 as well.
Android 4.2.2 JB, standard theme.
After a missed call, my FM radio stops working, and also I find all other sounds quieter byt more than 40-50%. No volume control app helps (tried many), the volumes don't seem changed. The FM radio apparently finds stations etc. but no sound. As if it is muted, and all other sounds seem to be affected by some more master volume no app could affect.
This whole mess is fixed when restarting the phone, or when I make another call to Sound test service (or other contact) - just establishing a call is enough to fix the issue. This is not always a solution for variety of reasons.
Also letting skype exit (after signout) completely fixes the issue. But this "exiting" takes hours most of the time - its VideMonitor service stays for hours after signout, sometimes days. Unacceptable.
This is Very frustrating to the point i stopped using skype until this is fixed.
It seems Skype doesn't restore some volumes/mute after a missed call.
The mentioned workarounds are not always viable, especially when I'm away from Wifi range. Is there another workaround, or better, a fix, when I miss a call, skype should restore sound volumes and any muted channels (fm radio).

After missed call skype turns off all the sounds in the phone including alarm.
I did late on work today because of it...

Missing aaa accounting commands

Hi,
I might be being REALLY STUPID, but I am trying to config a 12.3 IOS router to send command accounting records to an ACS 3.3 server via RADIUS.
When a input the 'aaa accounting commands 15 default group radius' command, it is accepted by the router, but show the config, and its not there. This is the same for all command levels. This router is logging VoIP accounting records too, to the same RADIUS box, without problems.
Have I missed somthing about setting up AAA ?

Even if IOS did support it, the format of any RADIUS cmd accounting will be inferior for a couple of reasons
1) The ACS TACACS+ reports are totally geared up for this with pre-defined columns for each T+ attrbute.
2) ACS has a dedicated cmd accounting report which splits out cmds from sessions
3) To package in RADIUS, IOS would have to create many cisco-av-pair VSA instances. In the RADIUS accounting logs these will all be compressed into a single column of the format
"attr1=value1;attr2=value2;..."
Depending on what you want to do with the data this format is quite restrictive.
My advice is to enable TACACS+

Missing out put modules

Really embarrasing ? I havent used AE in awhile and after a crash had to reinstall. When I make a movie I remember in the "Output to" section having multiple rendering options. (QT, AVI, Alpha etc) Now it defaults to avi and only lists the otpions on how to name the comp(and Custom...) am I missing somthing? I guess you should never stay away from anything so long...

Presumably you created a couple of your own output modules back then which now are unavailable. Default outputs can be restored by trashing the prefs (which a reinstall doesn't do), but beyond that you will have to create any custom presets from scratch again.

Skype account was "hacked"

I'll keep this short.
Someone "hacked" my account a few hours ago.
I had no trouble resetting my password and getting it back, however I'd like to find out the IP address which the reset was submitted from.
Nothing else was comprimised so they must have simply guessed my skype password, and, annoyingly, unless I've completely missed it, skype doesn't have the option anywhere (online or in the program itself) to display actions/logins by IP.
I would really like to be able to narrow down who this was, so if there is any way I could get hold of this information, I'd appriciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

What is the best way to upgrade my Early 2009 Macbook Pro 17"?

My Macbook hasn't been working well and I'm worried about things getting worse when going to Yosemite. 2. Replace your 5400 rpm hard drive with either a SSD or, if price is an obstacle, a hybrid 7200 rpm drive.

Report Builder Question - OA AR Aging - and a general question

I'm sure this is the wrong forum for this question, but I thought there might be someone here who might be using Oracle Applications and Report Builder who'd be kind enough to help me out.
We've recently implemented Oracle Applications 11.5.10 and I have to use report builder to change the Accounts Receiveable Aging (7 bucket) to a 5 bucket report. I've already made some changes to the seeded "ARXAGMW.rdf" report, but I'm not a big Oracle Reports guy. I've stumbled through making some changes in various other reports. But this one is just plain nasty! :)
I was thinking that I could simply add buckets 6 & 7 to bucket 5, then just hide or delete the 6 & 7 buckets. But I'm not sure where to even start. Any help with this would GUARANTEE a Christmas or other holiday card this year! :)
I really want to keep this simple as possible, so any help would be very....helpful. :)
Oh, my general question is: Are there any resouces/books for Oracle Reports (Report Builder)? I feel so lost trying to modify existing reports, let alone creating new ones.

I am working on the 7-bucket aging report and i want to add a new field in data model.
As the query is build dynamically, i have modified the function BUILD_CUSTOMER_SELECT to meet my requirements.
But the problem is that in the data model, the field is not present in my Grouping. and if I try to add the field in the Data Model query (Q_ Customer) section,
i get the following error: ORA-01789: query block has incorrect number of result columns.
