did my first .m2t Are they not supposed to play in QT. i changed the extension to mpg. and it still doesn't play. is this normal?

Highlight the icon of the file>Hit command+I>Go to OpenWith:>Choose QT
(If you have [MPEGstreamclip|http://www.squared5.com> installed it may act as default player for m2v).

I'm a bit confused... I'm reading the April edition of Mac Life, and on page 84 under the ASK section somone has asked if they can use Time Machine to backup their files wirelessly over their network to a hard disk plugged into their Airport Extreme Base Station. According to the reply from the magazine the answer is no. The machine can backup to another volume on the network, but not to a USB hard drive connected to the router says the reply.
I'm doing that exact thing with no problem. I have a MacBook connecting wirelessly to my Airport Extreme Base station. I have a USB hub connected to the base station, to which I have connected TWO USB hard drives and a printer. I am able to backup with Time Machine with no problem.
Am I suppose to be able to do this, or was the magazine incorrect?

Well interestingly enough, apparently you can. I have been waiting for this new revision to come out in order to see if that would be possible. It would make my MacBook Pro truly wireless. Although it seems the feature is a secret at the moment, MacWorld published an article about it:

It's not a bad install of Mountain Lion. I've had the same thing happen to me, but it affected not only Mail, but a variety of other programs including iPhoto and MS Office, where I had to delete preferences, caches, and reinstall the OS as well as the program itself. I'm still having issues with Mail, so I've gone to another program.
Everything was fine upon the initial install. I restarted my iMac about two weeks after the install, and that's when the issues began to happen. I've reinstalled Mountain Lion twice, but the same issues arise.
As I mentioned above, you'll need to figure out which preferences are causing the issue, then reinstall the program, as a fresh reinstallation will do you no good unless you wipe the drive completely.

Not able to play some of the copyrighted or licensed files

Hi,
Since a month or so, I am not able to play most of my wma files, which were ripped from original audio CDs. The problem is not universally applicable to all of the licensed files because there are some, I am able to play(but that is only a minority, as that
represents music from just one original audio CD).
A few times in between I am able to play these files, but I am unable to find any correlation with any action/task performed. This problem resurfaces again and again.
I tried restoring the computer, but didn't solved it. Restarted, fixed the registry errors, but to no avail.
Please note that I am also having blue screen errors from time to time (one error in a day or two). The blue screen of death comes just randomly and computer restarts.
I also vaguely remember that a few weeks back, I solved this problem by typing some command in command prompt. I tried to find out that web page(from where I got this command), but couldn't. It was may be a registry problem. But, I am not 100% sure about all
this.
Below are the outcomes on different players:
Winamp:- Nothing happens
WMP:- A message comes "The player is not installed correctly, please reinstall the player"
VLC:- Tries to play repeatedly, not able to play.

Regarding the error messages showed above, have you tried to reinstall Windows Media Player by
Turn Windows Features on or off?

On my Macbook pro there are about 200 tunes that I am not able to play that I downloaded from my 1100 tunes on my old mac lap top and why?

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

NB hp is a relatively new machine and has previously backed up quite happily.

Try rebooting the iPad. Hold down both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. It takes a minute or two to restart.
Also be sure your iPad battery is not completely discharged.

I recently purchased an iPhone 4S however I am not able to play videos directly from websites like metacafe.com and all others. Whereas few of my friends who bought iPhone 4S / 5 (factory unlocked) versions can very well play videos from all websites. Whenever they browse videos, it start streaming on their phones and stArt playing in QuickTime player. What is the reason of this behavior, is there something missing in my iPhone?

If you are not in the US then you cannot use the US store, the store's terms say that you have to be in a country to use it - if you are using the US store then you are risking having your account disabled.

I am not able to play any audio from any website that I open in Firefox For example. if I play a song from Youtube in firefox, I cant hear the audio, where as the same song can be played in Chrome/IE.

I am not being able to play sound when I import a .MTS file from my folder

I am not being able to play sound when I import a .MTS file from my folder on my sequence bar of my Premiere Pro CS6. Even if I use my Media Browser to import the file, the video plays fine, but the audio is disabled it seems. I don't know what to do since I have used .MTS files before without hassle on CS5.5. It is quite frustrating. What can I do?

Please mention the Operating System that you are using and also make and model of the Camera that was used to capture those clips. Also, try to make another folder with the same name in the same location where the .MTS files are and move all the clips into the new folder and then try to import the files again using Media Browser in Premiere Pro CS6. If this doesn't work then make a copy of one file and rename it as .M2TS and then import that single file into Premiere Pro CS6. Please update if either of the solution works for you.

All of your computers content are available in the AppleTV section called "Computer". This is where you will find your music.
The Music section of the AppleTV is only for those who subscribed to iTunes Match.

No, those are different apps... The one for your Mac is the computer version, and looks different. Both are developed for their separate OS's: iOS and OSX.
