Am I the only one getting less than 30Mbps??

Hi,
I'm just trying to figure out if I have a problem or whether I just have to accept my speed. I notice most people who post on here seem to get well above 30Mbps and I just wondered if anyone else was in my situation?
My IP profile started off around 26Mbps and over time reduced to just above 20. My upload speed used to be around 7/8 Mbps.
I hadn't checked for a while but I've run a few BT speed tests over the last few days and my IP Profile seems to have increased and now varies around the 26/27Mpbs mark. Currently 27394. My last test showed an actual speed of 24973Kbps. So whilst still well short of 40 at least it's got better.
What is weird is that my upload speed seems to have degraded to around 4-5Mpbs. Last test showed 4571Kpbs.
Does this all seem reasonable or should I be raising an issue? I believe I am about 467m from the cabinet as the crow flies...

P.S I've had Infinity for several months and am well outside the training period.

It seems to me that BT mislead the customer when you initially test the expected speed you'll potentially get (via your telephone number) when thinking about getting BT Infinity....I seem to be reading the same thing in the forums...."My speed has gone down, once I've had BT Infinity for a few months" etc etc...
My speed was initially estimated as being 'up to' 40Mbps.....which is what convinced me to sign up to BT Infinity....for the first two months I was getting download speeds (non peak time) of 34/38 Mbps (I live close to the exchange) which was really good. Then all of a sudden it dropped to 26/28Mbps.
When I queried this I was told by BT customer services that the speed for my area was now only 'up to' an estimated speed of 30Mbps and not 40Mbps (as initially tested, obviously to rope the customer in) and because more people in my area had been connected up to the service they had to 'even things out' for all users. (I can not prove a thing BT say of course)
Whilst I can not complain about the speed I get in comparison to what I was getting under my old ISP (2/4Mbps) the customer is totally being mislead by BT.
I have now just received the 'new upgrade' Openreach modem which according to the BT letter states, Quote," The new modem improves your broadband connection, so your BT Infinty will be even better." The modem swop will be carried out by Kelly Communications.
Nowhere in the BT letter does it mention that the 'new modem' is only a swop for the original Openreach modem because there appears to be a fault of overheating with the old ones. I defy BT to come back and inform the customer in what way does it improve the broadband connection. Again we have BT not telling the truth and misleading the customer.
I have just done a speed test via the BT link  (time 1.00pm hardly the busiest period) and the downstream speed I recorded for my FTTC - BT Infinity line is 20Mbps the maximum estimated 'up to' speed from the exchange is given as 28Mbps so that has also gone down again from initially being estimated as 40Mbps four months ago to 30Mbps and now to 28Mbps. Is it me or is there a pattern here by BT.
My BT Infinity package has effectively been halved from what I used to get (non peak time) of 34/38Mbps to what I'm actually now getting 20Mbps.....
Like most people I'm tied into an 18mth contract with my BT Infinity package so I have to put up with whatever BT do, but one thing is for sure BT are pulling the wool over the eyes of its customers over what speeds they say you'll get and what speeds you actually do get.
Still only another 13mths to go........by the time my contract is up I'll probably be getting what I was on with my old ISP of 2/4Mbps.

    I've never had any problems with mine ever. The only freeze I've had was from a file I recorded on tivo, cut commericals out in movie maker and then re-encoded to the lowest possible bit rate that that zens nati've resolution supports. Try turning your sensitivity in the touch pad down. Sometimes if you have it up to high you may have a chance of doing that (although I have only had slow response, instead of a freeze by doing that).
    You also have to compare to all of the other products out there: Ipod and Zune are a lot worse with pathetic little problems (annoyances). I didn't pay for tech support?

  • Random reboots mostly after unlocking, am I the only one getting them?

    Sometimes I unlock my phone and the screen remains black, then the phone reboots but weirdly it doesn't ask for the SIM pin number. Other times I notice the phone reboots by itself and I notice it because obviously the screen lights up during the boot animation. This happens very rarely, so far it has happened about 3 to 5 times in a couple of months but it's still mega annoying when it happens.
    Does it happen only to me? Is there any way to troubleshoot this issue?
    And please don't tell me to factory reset, I already did that less than a month ago and it happened anyway. Factory resetting is just a huge waste of time 99% of the time especially if you are not rooted.

    Have you ever rooted the phone? unlocked the bootloader? flashed a custom ROM? 
    Repair the phone with PCC and stay away from intrusive apps for a dsay or so, or even repair the phone with PCC and do not install apps for a day, just to narrow down the issue

    No. Firewire and Ethernet are not the same. Ethernet would be used to connect the computers to your network. A Firewire cable is used to connect the computers directly. They are different ports.

  • Am I the only one getting calls from 253-802-0308 about malicious file downloads after updating FIREFOX?

    After updating Firefox I start getting calls from 253-802-0308 (International Telcom in Auburn Washington, found using 411.com). The report that they are getting messages that my Windows PC is reporting the downloading of malicious files. I don't think that there is a connection with Mozilla but it only started after I ran the last 2 or 3 updates to Firefox. Searches on Google and other search engines don't show logical connections to the phone calls and the problem being reported to me. None of my anti-virus programs, Ccleaner, DEFENDER & AVG pickup and malicious files. I'm curious about who they may be because when I question them during the calls they end up hanging up on me. Just wondering if similar problems are being reported.

    Depends on how strong your wifi connection is.
    you can try a reset hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.

    More than 10 Weeks no Salary"
    so what i did is
    I mantain one Sick leave type and counting rule as -
    seq no 1 for "First 14 days(1- 2 weeks) Full Salary
    seq no 2  for Next 14 days (3- 4 weeks) 75% Salary
    like this for all the conditions
    and in deduction rule I maintained deifferent Absence quotas
    Plz suggest me this solution will work out

    Purchase Order is getting released even if the total amount is less than the last PO amount. The release strategy is only working for the first Purchase Order and if the PO amount is greater than the last PO amount.
    Please let me know how to correct this scenario (release strategy).

    Release strategy has nothing do with the previous PO amount. May be, Co-incidently the amount in previous PO which you are referring and the characteristics value maintained in the release strategy is same.
    1) Please go in release strategy by the path mentioned below
    IMG u2013 Material Management u2013 Purchasing u2013 Purchase Requisition u2013 Release Procedure u2013 Procedure with Classification u2013 Set Up Procedure with Classification
    2) Then go to release strategy. Here the total available release strategies would be displayed. Double click the strategy which is getting reflected in the PO you want and go the classifiction tab. There you will get the PO value. Based on this characteristic value the respective release streategy gets refelected.
    I hope this clarifies.

    I configured all the process in IMG for compensatory off
    ie ,Absence types,Attendance Types ,counting rules and assignment
    but when I tried to create attendances on a particular public holiday in PA 30 then the system shows 'Only records of less than one day allowed for attendance/absence type COMP' (Compensatory Off)
    Anyone pls help me to solve this problem

    All apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that bought them. To stop your id from popping up, you need to delete the apps on his phone, and then repurchase them under his account.

    Have you talked to your carrier (or your friend to his)?  Could be an issue at their end.

    The best way is to not share Apple IDs but also make sure under Settings & Messages on both devices that only one phone number is checked.

    Same here! Happened yesterday to me on New iPad and iPhone 4S. On iPad I managed to correct it by removing the account and activating it again as an Exchange account...I have mail and calendar OK!
    On the iPhone nothing seems to  work!
    Facts:
    1. everything worked perfectly for years!
    2. I have the 2-step authentication deactivated  on my google account so it cannot be this one.
    3. On desktop everything works just fine, on iPad everything is OK with Exchange account added (after Google removed support for Exchange account access I CAN ONLY HAVE ONE DEVICE with Google Exchange account, so doing the same on the iPhone does not work!)
    4. Tried to remove and add the account again - no results.
    5. Tried to remove and add as Google, as Exchange, as Other account - I get calendar but no mail!!!
    6. Tried to reboot between remove/add accounts - no results.
    7. Tried to ("reset settings") reset the device - no results.
    8. Tried to add as POP account and I it worked - I get mail but I do not need POP as I am using zounds of mail with labels and need to be working on an IMAP account
    9. To make things even more complicated...I have another account which works perfectly!!!!!
    Anyone out there having a clue?
