before I downloaded twhirl, i upgraded to most current
version of Adobe Air (1.5.1) from (1.5.0). It actually occcurred to
me that i had never used adobe air before, eventhough i´ve had
it installed for ages.
i cannot run twhirl-0.9.air because the extension is not
registered. being no newbie, i tried to manually register the
extension but i cannot find an adobe air executable in Program
Files>Adobe Air. So i started to search on how to fix the
problem, and took at two approaches. I spent 5 minutes trying to
find the location of the adobe air executable, and i spend ONE
FREAKING HOUR trying to find a solution using queries similar to
["adobe air" extension association .air] on google. NO relevant
results come up AT ALL. Am I the only one with this problem? how
about a solution? Which file do I associate the extension .air
with???????
as a bonus WTF, i dare someone to show me a query on google
that points to a solution to this problem within the first 20
results, and if you find this solution WITHIN adobe.com support i
will paypal you USD$5.

The Adobe AIR Application Installer is in Program
Files/Common Files/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/.
If you right click on an AIR file and choose the above file
to open it, that should fix the problem.

My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

I recently paid the full price for a 5800XM from my mobile operator "Mtel" but received a branded phone (how kind of them, #@!*!@***!## :robotmad. My phone has software version 21.0.025 and will not update via FOTA, Ovi suite or whatever.
I'm now starting to feel as if I'm the only person in the world with such outdated software. Are there many othes who cannot update past 21.0.025 ?

I've heard that there are a lot of complaints in the UK but I must say that you're lucky to live in a Western European country. People complain and things happen.
Where I live it's called Bulgaria, which may sound a bit European but they're still a little fuzzy about the meaning of the phrase 'customer service'.
My operator Mtel are a bunch of super arrogant @##!@# and no, they don't have a forum simply because it would become a collection of complaints. You can however send a complaint through their website (nicely hidden from the rest of the world) and when you do that they'll downplay your complaint referring you to their call center for 'technical help'.
Of course there is no one at the call center who knows what you're talking about so they will refer you to their Service center where ... you guessed it, they will tell you that the phone cannot be updated...

After downloading ios 7, my iphone 4 will sync but my music will not show up only itunes purchases will show up and be the only ones playing. the rest have a little red square next to them

Ive been having this problem ever since i upgraded to ios 7. I went to put new music on my iphone, and i synced my phone went to listen to my music and it either has a cloud next to it, a red square, or is there but clear and will not play. Seems that purchases from itunes are the only music that actually work. When i put my phone on shuffle, it continues to shuffle through my music until it finds a song that will actually play, which ends up being one of the purchased songs. I have a total of about 1300 songs, about 600 purchases and the rest just dont work. Please help me find what is wrong with this because it has been weeks and im going insane and really debating on switching over to a different phone brand like the new blackberry or s4, im done with apples ****.

Update - I found the iphoto cache deleted it. This did not work.... it still cannot find the photos. I then placed all the photos on my desktop and synced my phone to the folder. It found ALL the pictures on my desktop folder. I would still prefer to find a fix, so I can sync my photos to iPhoto....

I run win7 64x pro. This is a restatment of problem I posted yesterday I have a hard time believing I'm the first to ever have this problem which is as follows: I used CC Cleaner because of FunMoods, which is the onlt thing I have found that removes that virus thoroughly
Having done that-Face book and a few other sites came up as hyperlinks only with no illustrations, So- I deleted Firefox completely and downloaded a new copy. It downloads but won't open. I used an old copy-13.0 & same thing-does not open.
I have used Firefox for Win since it came out.. My rule of logic with computers is that when I have some problem I cannot solve myself- I CANNOT be the first person to have had that problem yet I see no answers. I would appreciate some help. Thank you.

I am the same one who posted that question though the problem is exactly as described.. I watch the progress bar unpack the download and then it gives me the choice-run with previous settings or as administrator using a password.
Either way-I do not get a new browser. I do get a screen saying that my previous settings may be partially lost. I think a month ago I had also used CC cleaner. At that time-right clicking worked. Now it does not matter. Clicking on the Mozilla download gives me the progress bar but NO unpacked browser.

SSince upgrading to the new system the screen locks, apps occasionally require multiple attempts to open, photos changed to some idiotic display. I went from a fan of Apple with plans to purchase a iPhone and Mac to considering turfing my iPad.

Just start over fresh ... :-) ... it's a good thing to do anyway, problems or not ...

SOLVED: IOS 8 Issues on iPad 2:
I just returned home from a visit to the Genius Bar. Like you and many others, when I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8, it became practically unusable. It was VERY slow, lagged whenever trying to to do anything. Lots of screen freezes and apps spontaneously crashing. I was convinced that the processor on the iPad 2 just couldn't handle the new IOS and I went in to see about restoring to IOS 7.
Thankfully, I was hooked up with a very sharp guy at the bar. The problem is not with the OS, it is with it being an *upgraded* OS. He used the analogy of when you had an older Windows computer and how over time (and over upgrades), they just tended to get slower and slower because of all of the garbage that was carried forward in the upgrades. At those times (and if you've ever had a Windows computer, you get this), the only thing that would speed it up would be to wipe the machine and do a fresh install of the current OS and then reload your apps, and the viola, everything would be fast again. Well, it turns out that IOS can suffer the same problems.
THE FIX: FIRST, be sure you have a current iCloud backup of your device. Connect your iPad to a computer that has a clean fresh copy of IOS 8 on iTunes (this is best done with a computer other than the one that you sync your device to because you DO NOT want to restore it from a back up just yet). Ideally, if you do this at an Apple store you'll be assured of the right version there and someone to answer any questions you might have along the way. You then hold the power and home button down to hard-reset the device and continue to hold them down until it reboots into recovery mode. You then follow the instructions on the computer to reinstall the OS on the device (which wipes everything from it and then reinstalls a clean copy of it). Once this is done (which only takes about 15 minutes), your device will reboot and ask you to set it up. Answer the questions about language, location, etc. and continue until it asks you to log into your iTunes account. Once you do that, it will ask if you want to either 1) Set it up as a new device, 2) Restore from iCloud, or 3) Restore from iTunes. Choose (2), restore from iCloud. This will ensure that it brings down "clean" copies of all of your apps and preferences rather than the potentially corrupted ones that might reside in your iTunes backup. That's it! It will take a few hours depending on how much data and apps you have, but I am happy to report that my iPad 2 is now running IOS 8 and it's running as fast as it ever did when it was brand new!
To sum it up, this process 1) Wipes your device and the garbage causing your problems, 2) Loads a clean and bug-free version of IOS 8 to your device, and 3) restores your apps and data so that it looks just like it did before the wipe, with the exception that it works now! :-)
Note also that by following this process you don't have to go through the painful and laborious process of reloading all of your apps, data and/or settings. iCloud takes care of all of that for you.

IMac the only one that will connect with internet

I have a wireless network set up in my home office. I have an Airport wireless router and my internet service is through Frontier with a Westell 6100 modem that is probably five years old. When I set up my WiFi network with the 27" iMac, Airport Express and modem everything works fine... not super fast but DSL is all we can get out in the rural areas. I can access the internet with no problem. When I try to connect to the internet, through my WiFi, my iPhones, iPad & Macbook Pro will not connect. I can see the WiFi signal on everything but when I try to connect to the internet or email accounts, I get nothing. I have taken all of these to Strabucks and they connect just fine but at home only the iMac seems to work. This is very frustrating.
Appreciate any help or suggestions you can give.

This is one of those moments where you should remember to calm down and then seek help. The likely scenario is that, if pertaining to web access, the account owner login was established on another phone number. I had that happen to my account. More than anything else, though, no one deserves the type of aggression you are presenting.

Every time I launch Safari on my iPad there are about 5 or 6 tabs load ed with Wikipedia searches. I am the only one using the iPad so I know it's not me searching for this. Anyone else have this problem and if so how do I turn it off?! Thanks!

Have you closed the tabs ? Re-opening Safari will open it with the same tabs that were open on it the last time that you used it.
You can clear Safari's history via Settings > Safari > Clear History (and possibly Clear Cookies And Data), and then close Safari via the iPad's taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
When you re-open it there shouldn't be any open tabs.

I purchased an iPhone5 at the end of June 2013. Ever since I downloaded iOS7 I have been having battery issues. This past Friday the issues got worse. On Monday night (1/6/14) my phone unexpectedly shut off 22 times according to an Apple rep. My phone was replaced yesterday and I'm still having significant issues. My battery drops somewhere between 2 and 5% if I simply unlock the phone. I went over every possible setting with an Apple rep tonight to make sure my settings are making my phone as efficient as possible. All apple reps are telling me is that I can replace the phone yet again or I can do ANOTHER factory reset. I refuse to deal with this company because it's been 3 days and 14 hours. Has anyone experienced this with their iPhone5 because if I have to call another apple rep I'm gonna flip out.

Customer support's answer is incomplete at best. What I found out two days ago (after hours on the phone searching for someone who knew what they were talking about) was that, if you are a prepaid customer, you have no right to be called an "account owner." You can only be a "member," and therefore have no rights to the free cloud, or any other service afforded to an account owner.
It's just a way of classifying contract customers and prepaid customers, without really explaining that "members" are not allowed to do what "owners" can do. Contract customers are "owners," prepaid customers are only "members," and can never become "owners," without taking out a two-year contract.
The screen info does not explain this at all. It just leads you to believe an error was made, and it's up to you to take 3 to 4 hours on the phone, hopefully get a warm body, and then, also hopefully, that said warm body knows what they're talking about.
