Am I the only one who has this problem?

So I have this problem where at a certain point in my sequence title effects that normally don't need to be rendered suddenly do for the rest of the sequence's duration. when I hold my cursor over the red bars above the timeline is says "RT still cache is full. you can allocate more memory in the system preferences...." but when I do ( change the allocation from 10% to more than that) it either does nothing or makes the problem worse. does anyone know how to get final cut to honor it's realtime abilities with longer sequences? (I'm working with hour+ sequences that are entirely subtitled...)
Is this a result of a 3 gig RAM limit per app? I have 6.5 gigs of RAM. thanks!

these are just straight-up final cut text files. I guess no one out there knows what's up with this "RT still cache" and why increasing it's [sic] size doesn't seem to increase the amount of stills final cut can "cache," but thanks for the pep talk on why things need to be rendered. that was really revealing.< </div>
Can't tell if you've stepped down to sarcasm but it's allowed around here; heck, one of my favorite tools.
Your titles are not stills. They are effects. The RT system will only hold so many effects. Shoot, even still images aren't stills for the still cache, they're video clips. Like the waveform cache, it holds only specific items.
The still cache captures and stores your video clips' start and end frame icons, poster frames and such. Want to see the still cache in action? Try setting your timeline display to filmstrip mode. RT seems to have parameters we cannot adjust but you've also got to consider what's going on with your "simple text" elements. You have written a file that includes text parameters. The track must be created and the must be placed over your video track. There is alpha processing involved and FCP simply does not handle alphas well without proprietary hardware support. And it has to write the combined pixels so you can see them in the Canvas and on FW output.

Actually coconut battery works perfectly fine for Mavericks, many pro-users on this board are using same with Mavericks, so, incorrect.
I have done exhaustive testing on same on several diff. Macs with Mavericks
SMC reset will show correct battery reading for a short while, however no, "time remaining" is NOT correct currently, and techs. are working on this occurrence. Your experience with Mac has no bearing whatsoever on current time remaining indicator with Mavericks.
Endless testing shows that accurate time remaining will present itself, for a short time, after a SMC reset, but this is often very short lived.
The quickest methodology to FAULT this reading is to open a high task APP (photoshop, video feed, flash, etc.)

*Further testing on 3 machines 2 days ago have shows that if a wake from sleep is induced, the "time remaining" on a 50-60% charge will show "20 hours remaining" on 2 diff. macbook Air 2013 13" I5 (very inaccurate of course)
Battery APPS used were:
1. Mavericks resident batt. indicator.
2. coconut battery (coconut doesnt estimate time however but mAh)
3. Battery time v 2 (mAh and % remaining, not time remaining)
4. Battery APP "fruit juice"
*For those receiving ACTUAL LESS battery life, other variables are in play
Happily however, my ACTUAL TIME on a full charge on 2 diff. Air (mine and a borrow) has increased an average of 25%

Yeah that works, but, it involves a click on the event, a click on edit, a click on the date, keystrokes, plus, since you can't see the next month you have to have a calendar in front of you so as to put it to the right date. It's easier just to cut it and advance the month and paste it, once you are in the right month you can move it around helter skelter willy nilly no problems. Although now that you mention it I will try it, maybe it is easier than cut and paste as I don't really care about the date, as long as it gets moved into the right month I can drag it around all I want.

Am I the only one who has a problem trying to complete the O'Reilly Gettining Started with Flex3 PDF

This is the first time i am trying to understand any and everyhign flex. So i am trying to go through the pdf which is recommended to get acquainted with the program. One issue i see is that the pdf leaves out details right from the star. The next issue is that when i try to run the initial example program, the compiler has an issue with a negative number given to the rotation (mind you, this number is what's in the example) and then the last issue is that the image that you are supposed to use sems to have two different filenames in the tutorial. At this point i just gave up and am wondering if it's me or the tutorial. I'm pretty sure its the pdf. But is it me? Let me know

I think to start your best resource is install Adobe media player and then follow the Flex in a Week videos and exercises for which this forum is set up. You can follow the video, read the PDFs or simply download the exercise files and follow the included instructions.

oh whoops i forgot to tell you, i didn't actually find apple's number, although i think they have one.........what i did was i went onto the express lane and when through a series of steps and typed in my phone number and it was SUPER fast. It scared me that as soon as i pressed enter, not more than 30 seconds later, my phone started ringing. But that's the one you have to pay for.....

I downloaded Yosemite last night but when I tried to update iPhoto, I got an error message stating that that app and several others couldn't be updated because they weren't paid for by the user id entered. I'm the only one who uses this computer.

Some folks have solved this issue by dragging the apps to an external disk, then disconnecting it, and then are able to download. Apparently it can arise if you upgraded from an OS the than Mavericks.
Failing that: Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS TO CONFIGURE BIOS FOR SLI

Right out of the box, this motherboard WILL NOT RUN two 7800gtxs in SLI. I had to go into bios and change the NB to SB frequency and the PCIe bandwith (8>8) to (16>16) etc.
Has no one else have to do this? The same thing happens on the ASUS A8N32 SLi deluxe, after a BIOS update it changes the SLi config.

yes you have to reset the bios, and change it all manually. that's life, that's how it is.
updating the bios counts as resetting it in my experiance.
as for your sig.... I suspect operator error.

Am I the only one who has firefox crashing when trying to use "Clear Recent History"?

Well I installed Firefox 4 on both my laptop and my desktop and it does the same problem to both of them, which annoys me greatly.
Such a simple feature should have no problems working right? Well not for me apparently.
When I try to use Clear Recent History (ctrl + shift + del) from the firefox menu, it asks me what I want to clear, then I press clear and nothing happens. It freezes and crashes. If I would have this problem for only 1 computer I wouldn't have minded much but the fact that this feature is having so much troubles running is getting a bit annoying for me. I just want to quickly clear my cache of everything. Shouldn't be hard!
What annoys me the most is that by browsing trough the web, I didn't find anybody else with this problem!
I don't mind much because after retrying it eventually works... but an awesome browser such as firefox should work from the start, not after many tries.

You can try to select only one setting at the time in [[Clear Recent History]] to see which one is causing the crash.

Hi , does anyone know how to fix the problem with imessages. Sometimes it works and more often than not it doesn't. I upgraded my iphone 3gs a couple of weeks ago and the imessaging worked splendidly but now it hardly works at all. Am I the only one who has no print apps? I have had many issues with them working fine then nothing

I have updated re instaslled been on the phone with an agent for three hours exhausted everthing in there book, returned the printer gotten a new one still nothing the i began complaining on here and within 2 days it worked...so now that the apps are down again i figured i would ask HP are you updating again and not filling anyone in on it or do i need to make another pointless phone call

Windows 98 is an ok operating system if you like to be out of date. Just upgrade to XP, that should solve your problem.
