AM I THE ONLY ONE WHOSE MAIL IS NOT WORKING?

I can't get it through my mail program on my powerbook or through the website. Usually I can at least get it through the internet when it goes down on my computer. I am very frustrated with .Mac. Why am I paying for these hassles when I can get Gmail for free?

A couple of things to try:
* Double-check sound settings in System Preferences.
* Reset NVRAM (or PRAM)

    As suggested try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
    Also, it might help if you provide a little more detail on what you mean by "not working"

  • So I'm not the only one whose purchased songs are cutting off/skipping

    This has been the most frustrating thing... I'm definitely not new to downloading music from the iTunes store, and I have no idea what's been going on lately with purchased tracks just stopping and skipping ahead to the next track. Thanks to all for the helpful hints on how to redownload the bum tracks by deleting them and going back into purchases. A couple of things I noticed after doing some troubleshooting:
    1. The only time I had issues with tracks was when I downloaded an entire album at the same time.
    2. While going through and finding the duds on an album with 60 tracks (there were 21 of them...), I noticed that in almost every case it was TWO back-to-back tracks that didn't download correctly. So I figure that there may've been some issue with them downloading simultaneously. That's where this tidbit I found on another discussion helps:
    3. Unchecking the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" box in the downloads tab of iTunes cleared up EVERYTHING. I think...

    Yes, it will scratch. Again, get a case. Here are some ways to clean it...
    Ice Creme
    iCleaner
    Freezing...
    Try a restore (see my previous post)
    Do Not Disconnect...
    Try clicking the little eject icon next to the iPod in iTunes (under Source). iTunes should eject the iPod and Do Not Disconnect should go away.
    Do Not Disconnect usually stays after the iPod is done updating when Disk Use is enabled. To make the iPod automatically eject go to edit-->preferences with the iPod connected in iTunes. Click the iPod tab and then the Music tab under that. Uncheck enable Disk Use and click OK.
    Post back if disk use is not enabled/when you click eject iTunes says that it cannot eject the iPod.

    Hello, my first post on the forum, and I have this yet unsolved problem.
    I own an ipod touch 3rd gen, purchased in February, the iPad, and the iPhone 4.
    Initially the surface on the ipod was really nice and very few smudges occurred. I, not knowing better, cleaned it with various cleaning solutions that are used for reading glasses. Afterward I used a "protecting screen"
    Eventually, when the protective screen became annoying I removed it and noticed that the screen is not good anymore. Its clean when you clean it, but it accumulates smudges or fingerprints very quick. This is not even remotely an issue with ipad and iphone touch. and I have not used and will not use cleaning solutions on the ipad or iphone. Whatever the surface is coated with makes it so that there are almost no smudges or prints.
    I think this could also be caused by applying the "protective" screens. So be warned and dont rush to "protect" your brand new phone or ipod. You dont want to damage the screen.
    So I wonder if anyone else is having this issue? and do you know whether apple can fix this?

  • Why is the search on my mail app not working?

    I just bought the new iPod touch 5th generation. I synced it with my iTunes, transferring all the apps I had on my old 3rd generation iPod touch. Everything works fine, except the search on my mail app. When I type in some keyword to search, and click the "all" label, it won't actually search all my email content, only the subjects and senders. Any way to fix this?

    No. From the Users Guide it only searchs mail for:
    Mail—To, From, and Subject fields of all accounts (the text of messages isn’t searched)

  • When I upgraded my FF to the latest one my bookmarks will not work as before and I cant find a way to change it

    I am running win7 hp 64.when I upgraded to v14.0.1 the bookmark wont operate as they have in the past and I dont know how to make them work as in the past. I have to double click files to get them to open.I cant organize them to open without double click or in some cases even more.its frustrating me to no end. FF has always been my favorite browser and I hate to have to deal with this. I hope you can help me

  • Problem Activating--Am I the Only One?

    So I got my iPhone, went through the activation process via iTunes and I thought all was well. Except that it won't make a call. I figured I screwed something up. Called Verizon. Apparently, the number assigned to my iPhone, which is in my paperwork that came with the phone, is not in Verizon's system. It is floating around, not assigned to anyone. It's a "glitch" and the tech support guy said I'm not the only one although I'm not seeing anything on this message board remotely similar to my problem. Tech support is working on it and they were VERY responsive. They said the pre-order process was something they've never done before and causing some issues for some people. I've waited this long for an iPhone. I can wait until they get it figured out. Right now, it is a fully functional iPod touch! Anyone else having activation issues?

    My iphone4 wouldn't activate after I did the i tunes sinc. I was directed to call customer support for activation. I tried to do the activation from the verizon site, but no go. The fix was simple for me. All id numbers were correct. I had to turn off old phone and reboot my iphone4, For 45 min on the phone, that's what fixed it. Pretty simple. It seems  this is new for customer support, so they are taking a long time, as they read their instruction manual. It was a pleasant experience, though, just took a long time. I give them a 5 star for effort. Lol. For why it didn't sinc the first time. I have no idea. It should have, but didn't. Tell me it wasn't just to turn my old phone off. Lol.

    Have you talked to your carrier (or your friend to his)?  Could be an issue at their end.

  • IMAP every 15 minutes not reliable - Am I the only one?

    I had the problem since 1.1.2 (on an unhacked T-Mobile Germany iPhone) and it seems to get worse with 1.1.3.
    Pulling mails using IMAP from my .mac account works for an hour or some hours then it stops to pull mails every 15 minutes. When I manually start the mail program it loads all mails. So my settings are correct. When I reboot my iPhone the problem is gone for a while but then comes back. Am I the only one because I read no other post with this specific problem.
    Deleting and recreating the mailbox on the phone did not help (and I found out that deleting a mailbox from the phone does NOT delete all information from the phone, a cache of the IMAP messages is still kept). Even a full recovery (including restore from backup) on the phone did not help.

    I solved the problem now this way:
    - Did a complete reset of the iPhone and
    - I did NOT restore from a previous backup.
    Instead I entered all my settings manual again, like IMAP Servers, all phone settings etc.
    For now the problem is gone. Works reliable for a week or so. Knocking on wood...

    Same here! Happened yesterday to me on New iPad and iPhone 4S. On iPad I managed to correct it by removing the account and activating it again as an Exchange account...I have mail and calendar OK!
    On the iPhone nothing seems to  work!
    Facts:
    1. everything worked perfectly for years!
    2. I have the 2-step authentication deactivated  on my google account so it cannot be this one.
    3. On desktop everything works just fine, on iPad everything is OK with Exchange account added (after Google removed support for Exchange account access I CAN ONLY HAVE ONE DEVICE with Google Exchange account, so doing the same on the iPhone does not work!)
    4. Tried to remove and add the account again - no results.
    5. Tried to remove and add as Google, as Exchange, as Other account - I get calendar but no mail!!!
    6. Tried to reboot between remove/add accounts - no results.
    7. Tried to ("reset settings") reset the device - no results.
    8. Tried to add as POP account and I it worked - I get mail but I do not need POP as I am using zounds of mail with labels and need to be working on an IMAP account
    9. To make things even more complicated...I have another account which works perfectly!!!!!
    Anyone out there having a clue?

    Freedom, freedom and better services and support. iPod is not the only one MP4 player. There are better and cheaper, there are many with better service and support. There will be many cheaper, better and with many advantages. I am very unhappy and upset because my bad experience with 60GB iPod. I suggest think about it.....

  • Am I the only one with no problems with the froyo 2.2 update

    I did my update on 4/20 bout 10:30pm ny time it took bout 10 min to dl and bout 10 min for the install and what not, after that I updated my flash to 10.2 and tried out my new features, was amazed how fast it was like my phone was on redbull, everything is good battery life is bout the same if not better, not having issues like I been reading, so am I the only one, who else out there had no problems updating and no issues with it

    I updated my phone to 2.2. Almost everything seems fine. I now have Flash and it made some small improvements in a lot of features such as E-mail viewing is a bit nicer and web viewing is a bit better. Some background colors have changed. The phone seems to run apps a bit faster or improved in minor ways. The GPS Google Maps stuff works well as before. It did reset my phone personalization presets like my homescreen, a minor thing. One game app stopped working but I deleted and reinstalled it and it works fine. I kept all my music, contact list and data on the phone. Nothing lost. All in all I am very satisfied with the update and pleased. Thanks Verizon and Samsung, now please get to work on Gingerbread 2.3.
