Am I the only person who experiences random keyframe placement in FCPX?

Sometimes, and really I mean a lot of times, adding a keyframe to a clip for whatever parameter (controlling opacity, or transform, or adjusting effects, any reason) does not get placed at the location where my playhead is. It might get places a few frames left or right of the playhead and sometimes it can get places seconds away. Sometimes it even gets placed way past the end of the clip, so when I try to find it using the "next" and "previous" keyframe navigation I'll the the playhead move way ahead of the clip's end point.
I thought I'd find lots of people with this problem here, but I can't find any in the forums.
It doesn't happen all the time, but when it begins to happen frequently, the only way to solve it is to trash preferences. then it behaves for a few sessions and back to doing it again! At first, I thought it was because I was using Snow Leopard, and Apple tech suggested upgrading the OS, but it still does it in Mountain Lion.
Anyone with the same problem?

I am editing R3D footage that was shot at 100 Fps. My project is 23.98 fps, and I come across this keyframe issue about once a project.
In this next picture I have included the playhead, a Red Marker, and a Green Marker.
The playhead is my original keyframe placement issue. I attempted to place my keyframe at the 02:04:10 mark, however it was placed closer to the :09 frame. I placed another keyframe on that same clip (only a frame prior), same outcome.
The Red Marker is the same clip just at a different place in the footage and different duration. This time when I attempted to place the keyframe, it similarly placed the keyframe behind my original mark, but not nearly as close to the previous frame's start.
With the Green Marker I placed another transform keyframe at the location and successfully placed where I had my playhead. The only difference of this clip is that it is compound made of a black and a white generator.
Any ideas or suggestions please mention. I have already dumped my prefs but have not reinstalled FCPX.
EDIT:
Originally I was using ALT-Click in Video Animation to lay the keyframe or Add Keyframe under Transform. This was causing misplacement.
However I moved my playhead and adjusted the numbers via slider and the keyframe was correctly placed even when I attempted it on the same frame.

No you are not! I found it really boring too! I mean, I enjoyed the effects and oohed and aaahed at all the right scenes, but frankly, I would have rather stayed at home and watched Bullit or something.
And for those you will be putting the question up, yes, I saw it in 3D and everything.
Saw Sherlock Holmes the other day and found it a 100 times better than Avatar, though being a die hard fan of the books for such a long time, I found the idea of a hyperactive-snide-remark-spitting-funny-man Holmes a bit difficult to take in. I'm not saying its bad, I'm just saying its hard to get used to at first to the idea of this new iteration of the screen Holmes.

Yeah that works, but, it involves a click on the event, a click on edit, a click on the date, keystrokes, plus, since you can't see the next month you have to have a calendar in front of you so as to put it to the right date. It's easier just to cut it and advance the month and paste it, once you are in the right month you can move it around helter skelter willy nilly no problems. Although now that you mention it I will try it, maybe it is easier than cut and paste as I don't really care about the date, as long as it gets moved into the right month I can drag it around all I want.

Hello. Am I the ONLY person who's angry that my mobile hasn't lasted for several years? Am I the ONLY person who's had problems on and off throughout the last two years with his / her Nokia, AND had it replaced twice by Nokia Care, and now that it is out of warranty, require $292 to be repaired?
Bought the Nokia 6110 on a typical 2 year plan 2 years ago, and it just hasn't ever been faultless.
But even though it kept going 'funny', at least I could use some of the features, and Nokia Care have replaced the 'innards' of it from Nokia Asia somewhere, which took ages, And the 'loan fones' have been just aweful. And 'no', the loan fones were not able to hold Contact numbers from the 6110.
But when my Nokia 6110 started to just 'drop out' and say "Insert SIM Card", I knew I had a big problem. At first 'they' said it was because I didn't update the Nokia firmware upgrade properly. Then they said .................................................... Then they said I needed to get a new SIM card from my Telco because some times the SIM cards "go bad".
However yesterday Nokia Care finally dropped the 'big one' - my fone can be repaired for $292. That's almost THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS. Tell me, how much is a new Nokia.
Oh, and I am STILL waiting to hear from Nokia Care about when I can go back and pick up my 'dead' phone.
Did I tell you my 2 year contract ran out three months ago? Did I tell you I now can get another fone, with whichever Telco I chose, and I can pick any fone I want to go with another contact? So like you, I am doing HEAPS of 'reviewing' of fones on every website I can find, and I am asking people, and doing FaceBook, and Twitter, and ...................
And guess which brand I will not ever get again?? And guess which brand I am telling everyone about??
Oh, and I have written quite a few times before to Nokia - and I am still waiting for a reply............... That's what makes telling everyone how I feel SO much easier.
Nokia, you have lost your 'edge'. You care so much about 'selling', that you have forgotten its also about OWNING and SERVICING. Gosh, you do it bad. The products are hit-and-miss; your support is lousy; and your communication just sucks big time.

Prepaid accounts don't have Account Owners/Managers, they just have Account Members (and prepaid accounts have less options regarding changes via their My Verizon account as a result).

It's your choice. If you are the only person that uses the iPad then it's probably not necessary, but, for example, if you think that you will never make in-app purchases then you could disable them via Restrictions so that you can't accidentally make them.
In terms of the difference that it makes, then you can use it to hide some of the built-in apps e.g. Safari, App Store (via 'Installing Apps') etc, prevent apps from being deleted, or hide some of your content.
But if you do set restrictions then remember the passcode that you use for it - if you forget the restrictions code then the only way (unless it wasn't in place when you last backed up) to remove it is reset the iPad back to factory defaults.

Am I the only person who misses the drag and drop method of adding and deleting songs on iTunes devices?

I am constantly getting frustrated with the newer versions of iTunes because my different apple devices have different amounts of storage. I miss the days when I could drag and drop songs to various devices. I don't always want the same songs on all devices, so I don't like to sync because I sometimes lose something I want to keep on that device. I am just curious if I'm the only one who misses this feature or is there a way of doing this that I've just not found? Thanks.

In the Summary tab of iTunes - when the iDevice is connected to your Mac - select Manually Manage Music and Videos. You should be able to drag and drop.
If you don't see the sidebar and the device is syncing automatically, you can enable the sidebar from the ITunes Menu - View>Show Sidebar. The. You can click on your device name imder the devices heading, then click on the Summary Tab.
You can also disable auto syncing in iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing autonatically.
I never auto sync and never have. I select Sync Only Checked Songs And Videos in the Summary tab and I can still drag and drop songs. I can also select the albums, playlist, or artists that I want to sync by using this method.

I am Using windows 7 64 bit, no plug ins, nothing new downloaded since photoshop CS5 extended a month ago. It was working fine until last night. i have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, removing virus protection, all with no result!! This is the info from the event report: faulting module name KERNELBASE.dll version 6.1.7600.16385, faulting process id:0xe2c. Does this tell anyone anything that you can explain to me in English?? Having the full version of Photoshop and Elements on your system at the same time should not be a problem.
There is one other possible remedy, to get Photoshop CS5 to not even try to use the GPU in your system (recall my earlier comment about Intel graphics processing units not being the best for Photoshop)... There's a registry change that can be done to force Photoshop to avoid even trying GPU operations. I don't know if you're comfortable at all with making direct registry modifications, but there is a DWORD value you can create to have Photoshop avoid trying to use OpenGL:

If you're not comfortable making a registry modification yourself, you might want to ask someone who is an expert to help you.
The only other thing I can suggest, at this point, and which may help eliminate further doubt about the computer's hardware vs. software is to try a drastic measure - use the Windows 7 System Restore facility and return the OS configuration back to a date when you know Photoshop was working.

Am I the only person who is struggling to use the CSS panel in DW CC?!

I'm new to Dreamweaver CC this week (CS5 previously and CS2 before that ... total of 7 years use) ... was looking forward to the upgrades (and I can see there are lots which is great), but I'm finding the new CSS panel totally frustrating! It's so much more time consuming an in my opinion in no way user friendly ... especially for those of us who spend every day using them. I've now reverted back to hand coding my style sheet which means I'm having to switch between screens all the time (still works out to be less time consuming that trying to work with the new CSS panel though!).
I'm all for change, but this seems to be one big change which wasn't needed and certainly isn't benefical (to me anyway!). I can see that is probably more likely to help those who are starting out as it has the diagrams to show you what the styling is doing, but for me thats just taking up realestate.
I was also looking forward to taking advantage of the dual screen option (especially as I'm now hand coding the style sheet), but it seems its only the panels you can move across to the second screen and not the HTML or CSS pages ... Arrgghhhh!!!
I'll give it another week and then I'm done I think ... which is a shame because there is lots I like about it, but at the moment, this new baby just isn't working for me!

I'm really hoping so because the website I'm building at the moment is taking twice as long as normal - previously I could click on the element I wanted to style, then click on the '+' button at the bottom of the CSS properties block and the styling box would pop up - now its lots of scrolling and then knowing whether to press enter, or tab or just click away to add the styling ... driving me absolutely nuts!

Are any scanners working with Mavericks? Am I the only person who believes that scanning has become an essential service of any current OS?

It's been a while now since Mavericks was released in the wild. The same afternoon I upgraded I attempted to do something which has become more routine than printing - scanning. But when I went to find my scanning software, there was nothing there. A reinstall of the latest drivers for my all-in-one printer/scanner did not fix the problem - still no scanner. A search of the manufacturer's web site for drivers to work with Mavericks found nothing.
At first I assumed it was just my "not os ordinary" printer/scanner but my wife's very ordinary printer/scanner was the same - neither manufacturer had a driver for Mavericks. Further a little web searching lead me to believe that there are not many, if any scanner manufacturers who do support Mavericks - is that possible?
Can Apple has decided that scanning is not an essential service for an OS? It might have been nice to ask first or at least warn us - some of us depend upon our Apple systems for a livelyhood. Has anyone heard any good news about when scanner drivers will be available for Mavericks?

Try using the OS X pre installed Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.
Launch Image Capture.
Click the very small black box bottom left side of the Image Capture window.
You'll see this pop up menu: Connecting this (device) opens:
You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Imort To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to.

Am I the only person who has (or cares) about this problem with IMAP

I have multiple mailboxes in my IMAP account and i have to go into each mailbox to see if there is new mail. Is there a way to just update all mailboxes on the iphone? is it an IMAP setting? Is this Apple's way of trying to get me to buy mobile me?

I have nearly 100 folders, in a nested hierarchy, in my imap account. If it had to check every one of them when checking mail, it would take a ridiculously long time, eat up battery, etc. So I hope they don't change it to automatically check for new mail in every folder.
If you must have your filters applied to incoming mail such that emails get sorted to various folders, here's a solution that might help you.
1. Create a new folder in your imap acount, called something like "foriphone".
2. Instead of just having the filter move the message, have it copy the message to the new foriphone folder first, then move it to its appropriate place.
So now all incoming mail will be found either in the inbox (if it's not going to be sorted to somewhere else), or in the folders where sorted mail winds up, AND ALSO a copy of all sorted mail will be found in the foriphone folder.
All you have to do when checking mail is look at your inbox, and look at the foriphone folder. Every once in a while delete everything in the foriphone folder, since they're only copies of all the sorted mail.
Just an idea.

Am I the only person whos incred 2 charge port has broken more than 4 times?

I have only had this phone for a year now and I have had to have it repalced now for the 5th time because the charging port has broke and the phone wont charge anymore. I think this is ridiculous and it is not right to the customer to pay 99.00 for a refurbished phone that will break anyway!!! I am seriously looking to switch to another carrier for not only is Verizon getting over with charging so much for the crappy servie but to also keep replacing a phone 5 times already!!! IS anyone else having this same problem?

I would say most likely yes, just you.
I have had a Dinc and now a TB (They have the same charging port and the Dinc2) and never had an issue. Sounds like you may not be pulling the connector out straight and not by the connector but by the cord.
