Am interested in purchasing an AppleTVAVCDH Playback

Question #1)
I have a HD camcorder that generates .mts(AVCHD) files.
I am interested in buying an AppleTV to load and play those home videos. Will AppleTV be able to play those files.
Question #2)
My old home videos are DV format and I have tried to convert them into H264 with Quicktime but the converted files do not look good.
De-Interlacing seem to be a problem. Any suggestion on what is the best format. I do not care about file size, only quality.

Virtually nothing will play AVCHD and even when you have something that will, this eliminates the option of editing it. You need an application that will import AVCHD in an intermediate format, edit it and export it in a delivery format. That delivery format for the tv is h264.
Quicktime offers you simplified export options as well as more complicated advanced options, I'd start with exporting to the tv preset rather than using any of the manual settings, but essentially you can use itunes to do the same thing. Select 'convert for tv' from the advanced menu.
I have known Quicktime to run into field dominance issues with DV video from some cameras, this can look similar to interlacing issues. If this is what is occurring you might try mpegstreamclip for conversion of your DV streams for an easier solution.

I am interested in purchasing a new PC and wanted to transfer all of the music on my Itunes onto my new computer's Itunes the easiest was possible. Any suggestions?

These are two possible approaches that should work to move the existing library to the new laptop.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase are reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your library or a backup of it then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

I am purchasing this program for my son who attends George Washington High School: The College Academy in New York, New York. He is a sophomore and is interested in web design. I am interested in purchasing an ipod touch. Do you buy cards for it every month for texting and internet?

The iPod Touch is basically an iPhone minus the GPS and Cellular Phone capabilities. Because the only way to connect to a network is by WiFi, there are no charges. The only price you will pay is if you download apps, music, videos, or books that are more than FREE. Plus, it is thiner that the iPhone.

There is no way for anyone but you to place the order. You can get a list, collect money and order passing out to purchasers at the reunion. For late orders you can have them shipped to you and reship or use a different shipping address for each order

  • Itunes store purchased tracks terminate playback early

Since updating to 10.x I have a strange playback problem.
I have purchased several albums and random tracks (but always the same ones) will stop playback early. For example "Rise" by Samantha James is 4:24 long, the track ends and skips at about 3:41 on to the next track, (in mid word).
I first thought it was a corruption of the track, but I've had this on nearly all albums purchased since 10.x came out. 10.0.1 hasn't solved the problem.
    Any suggestions ?

I deleted my itunes library and reimported all items, the problem went away. Very strange.

  • I am interested in purchasing lightroom 5. Are B

Are B&H or Amazon legitimate resellers for Lightroom 5? Or do I need to purchase only from the Adobe Site?

The general Import / Adjust / Export-or-Print workflow is easy enough to understand and implement; however, there are many tools in the LR toolbox that contribute to what “Adjust” might mean so I probably do a few different things, now, that what I did a couple years ago, just because I figure out something new to do, or have a new situation come up that leads me to try something else.
Are you able to control your exposure and lighting in a studio, or do you shoot on the run and need to adjust for non-optimal conditions quite a bit with most photos?
Besides learning what to do with an individual photo, figuring out how to organize your photos is important.  At some point you’ll run out of hard-drive space, or lose a hard-drive so you’ll want to organize things in ways that allow archiving and making a backup copy of the photos as soon as they come off the camera, as well as a periodic backup of the LR catalog, along with finding a particular group of photos some months or years, later.   Using keywords and subfolders with folder names that include the date and subject/location/customer can help with this.
You may also mess up a whole set of photos because you had Auto Sync enabled so applied an adjustment to an entire photoshoot’s worth of photos that you meant to apply to just one.   This is easy enough to correct with an Undo command if you’re still in LR and realize immediately what you’ve done, but if it’s the next day, then you want to have a way to revert to a previous LR catalog to get the adjustments before you made your mistake.  And a hard-drive with your LR catalog can be bad at any point in time, so do periodic backups of the catalog that are often enough that you have time to redo your work since the last backup if something does happen.
You use the term “we”.  Are you expecting to have more than one person working on a particular set of photos, at the same time?  ou can’t.  Or are you wanting to use LR on multiple computers that aren’t near each other, like one at home and one at work?  LR is a single-user product that is licensed to be installed on up to two computers and that catalog cannot be stored on a network although the photos can reside on a network drive.  If you are going to use it on more than one computer, then the photos need to be stored in a way that allows both computers to access them using the same path (drive-letter or device name) and so putting everything on an external drive that you plug into one computer or another might be the easiest, though that increases the risk of hard-drive loss through dropping or misplacing, so a backup scheme is very important.
Personally, I use an external drive, that I replicate to another external drive overnight or more than once a day just in case, and I make a backup of my LR catalog whenever I get out of it and an at a reasonable stopping point, in case I mess something up.

  • Audio / video sync issue in playback

for every recording i've made, when i play back the archive there is noticable lack of sync between the audio and the person's mouth.   the video seems to lag behind by almost a second.  the good news at least is that the delta is constant.
has anyone else experienced this?  it's happening in any scendario i try, even if i'm just recording myself.
is the LCCS dev team aware of this?  since audio and video streams are recorded separately, is there any way for me to programatically 'nudge' the streams into sync?
it's currently a show stopper, it looks really bad when the sync is so obviously absent.

    finally getting back to this..
i did as you suggested and recorded a video of myself using the recording and playback examples provided with the SDK (the 2.2 newest version btw).
the de-syncing of audio and video is definitely there.  it seems especially bad for longer recordings.  however, an interesting thing i discovered in playback:
    - sometimes, if i drag the playhead somewhere in the recording, pause, and then hit play, video and audio fall into sync.
    - if i start playback from the beginning of the recording, audio/video is always out of sync.
i understand that the video and audio streams are recorded separately and thus played back separately.  my guess is that when those streams are retrieved and playback begins, one starts before/after the other because they're not retrieved at exactly the same time.  it seems some extra work is required to ensure that their playback commences at exactly the same timestamp within each stream.
i can provide my recordings as an example if required.
this is a total showstopper for me.  it renders the entire recording service useless if the playback can't have sync between audio and video.  i would be happy to help with testing this more.  can someone from the LCCS team comment on this issue?
    thanks

  • How do I access my iCloud content? Specifically movies purchased in itunes.

How do I access my iCloud content? Specifically movies purchased in itunes. I have multiple Apple devices, one itunes account, one cloud...purchased upgraded storage. The iCloud page on Apple website states that movies purchased in itumes are automatically transferred to the cloud. I can't find the movies unless I sync my devices via a cord. I am interested in purchasing Apple TV but want to make sure I will be able to access movies purchased.

Movies are not stored in icloud.  They are on the cloud - yes, but what Apple means,  is that you can redownload the movies via the iTunes Store, where all movies are stored (the itunes cloud).

  • Issue with interest free period

So I am looking in the ad today and see you have the 18 months on purchase of 429 or more. Then on the website itself it still shows the 12 month no interest on purchase of 399 or more.  I cant even choose store pickup if I wanted because the website only allows the 12 month.
I like to do the store pickup when there is an item I know exactly what I want.  In order for me to get the 18%, I had to actually go in the store with no guarantee my item would be available.  Luckily it was there and I didnt waste my time.  So if certain stores are going to give the 18 months then and you choose that store for pickup it should reflect that in the shopping cart when checking out.
    For example
I purchased an ipad because yesterday because they had a great price for Friday-Saturday only for 399.99.  I was also getting a case for it.  I tried to do it online and only gave me the 12 months.  I had to actually go in the store to get the 18 months.
Hope you can get this cleared up on yoru website.

    Hello there iliketoshop-
I’m going to play Captain Obvious here for a moment and say that you must like to shop!  Our financing options can provide some great opportunities for our customers to get the latest and greatest from Best Buy and it’s awesome that you want to benefit from it.
Currently, BestBuy.com offers 6 month and 12 month financing plans for purchases of varying amounts.  You can find more details on those plans here.  However, on occasion, we will offer special financing offers, such as the 18 month plan for select categories or purchase amounts.  However, those plans are generally only available in-store as an incentive to bring customers in.  It sounds like kst8no1 was kind enough to point that out in his replies.
However, we always value feedback from our customers about how we can serve them better, so I will definitely forward on your insights to our support teams.

  • Purchase Order Approval through Mobile Phone / BlackBerry

Dear fellows i am interested in Purchase Order Approval through Mobile Phone / BlackBerry. I have seen MSCA Mobile Supply Chain Application Guide but that is for telnet only devices and specific to supply chain. What are setup requirements to make PO approve though "Web App" or "Mobile App" as show in below image URL. We need to work it primarly on BlackBerry.
    http://www.exforsys.com/images/OracleApps/t10_files/image010.gif
That will require logging in to EBS through Mobile and Making EBS available on Public IP !?! If this all fuss needs to be done then is there some Notification Alert type mechanism which sends email, but here a user could also reply that email with keywords to Approve or Reject that PO !?!
    Thank you.

Dear Hussein, ur links are iPhone specific and also BPEL Connector specific ("Oracle Buisness Approvals for Managers" BPEL Connector). The links for Blackberry assume that i am atleast already getting emails on blackberry through EBS. Our env is through MS Exchange Server. Where as i believe from ur suggected docs that the EBS needs to have its own direct setup with blackberry
In our current env we are using Oracle Alerts to Just send an email to user that PO for approval is waiting. We are NOT using "Oracle WorkFlow Notification Mailer". For blackberry will we be locked to use Workflow Mailer (i see patch 6802716 pre req also)!?! or we can still use simple Alerts!?!
following thread says type "approve" in reply whereas metalink guides tell a URL to click in email. will it be a ...
    href="mailto:[email protected]?body=approve"
    type URL!?!
    http://oracle.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/oracle-apps-l/po-approval-through-mail-3077383
    ===============================================================
There are a couple of steps that need to be complete before this will work.
    Pre- Req's
    1. Associate all apps users / approvers with email addresses
    2. sync apps users with workflow
    3. Check workflow users to make sure email is set to HTML.
    4. Configure and enable workflow mailer. You will need configuration information for the email service being used and a mailbox on the email service.
    5. Send a test message from workflow mailer to an apps user.
If this is successful, then email based approval will work. If the user tries to approve using a smart phone (blackberry, etc.) they will have to hit reply and type approve as the message for approval to work.
this guy also points to this idea.

Approving Requisitions/PO’s in Oracle E-Business Using Blackberry Devices
Presentation of a solution using Blackberry Devices to approve requisitions and purchase orders in Oracle E-Business Suite. This solution required creating a text message to send to Blackberry users, and modifying the Workflow Java Mailer to be able to correctly read the default messages being sent back from blackberry devices. In addition, profile options were created that allowed simple key strokes to be translated into Approve or Reject options recognized by Oracle Workflow Java Mailer.
