I was told at the Apple Store when Mavericks was introduced that Pages, Numbers and Keynote would be offered at no charge with Mavericks. When I downloaded Mavericks, I could not figure out how to download them without the charges. When I downloaded the most recent OS to my iPad, I got a prompt to download them. Can someone tell me how to download them without the charges?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It's not correct at all. It is true that Apple is offering Numbers, Keynote and Pages for free, but only for users who have purchased a Mac after October 1st, 2013, and for existing iWork '09 users. If you have not got iWork '09 and you purchased your Mac before October 1st, you need to pay for these apps.
The new iWork version (Numbers, Keynote and Pages) is criticised by its lack of features. Instead, I recommend you to get LibreOffice or, if you need the most complete productivity suite, Office for Mac. Give LibreOffice a try first -
anyone have this experience?
We need to know more about your system, please download EtreCheck and run the report and please post it on your next reply. Then we can see how your system is configured, what apps are on it and look for anything obvious. We will look forward to seeing your report.

My Mac Book Pro will be 4 years old in Sept. I now have Snow Leopard and bought an IPhone 4S this week. I know I need Lion to use ICloud. Can I upgrade to Lion with a computer this old?
As long as it meets the minimum requirements:
Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
At least 2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space on hard drive
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply. -
i have tried to download version11.1 to my itunes so that I can transfer all my info to my new iphone 5 c i am using an imac operating system 10.6.8 OSX it will not allow me to download this !
What error message ar eyou getting. Why do you say it will not allow you to download?
Verify you meet all the system requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store -
I have an original iPad and downloaded the new operating system. Now, I cannot add to my contacts or calendar apps, and Pages ( which I purchased) is not allowing me to use the bold, underline, and italics functions. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
No, it stays with the current OS (iOS5 in this case) - Apple doesn't allow downgrading iOS
If you are syncing to a desktop, you shoudln't lose anything. If you aren't syncing, then that's the first thing you should do, to protect contacts etc.
the other thing is, when the iPad is connected to iTunes, right-click its name in the Devices list and choose Back Up.
That way, when yoiu do the restore, everything should come back as was. -
I downloaded the new operating system and now the Bluetooth in the car does not play my music. The music on the phone show the cloud and the red arrow pointing downwards. How do I download all the music again to my phone please?
I have an ITunes account. I got it when I got my IPOD. I've thought about upgrading, but I didn't see any reason to buy a newer IPOD because they all come with so much stuff I don't want/need. I don't have my current IPOD filled yet and I really don't need an IPOD Touch that has capabilities that my Droid already has. I don't need to be concerned with documents, mail, attaching to Facebook or playing games. I can do all that on my phone. I just want to maintain my music between 3 devices.
So now that I see it is not to my benefit to have this product---can you point me in the direction to cancel this? And how do I get my music back? Will it show up once I cancel my account? -
I have a MacBook Pro and it is Software is Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53). Is this the new operating system or I have to buy the new one? The only thing missing is the Messages.
And yes, you need LOTS of Internet to get the latest cat. The installer file is just 4.5GB in size, so on most internet connections it will take awhile to download. Once that happens, you will have a choice to install it on top of your existing Lion partition, or onto a different one, that can even be a totally blank one.
Since you probably don't want to redo the wait, be sure to quit the installer as soon as it finishes downloading and starts up automatically. Then save the installer (called "Install OS X Mountain Lion", and found in your Applications folder) onto another disk before going thru with the installation. When it concludes, it will erase itself. -
I downloaded the new operating system and now my Thundrbilt monitor is not showing my desktop is not working
Could be since it (security software) is listed as #5 in the following:

I was told by the Apple store to create separate user ids on my windows computer to create a new library to control the content on my iphone. I held down shift and clicked i tunes and created the library. I was told you can switch back and forth. I cannot find the old library and all of my playlists. Apple really needs a better way for families to manage their libraries and devices. This is such a pain in the butt!
No, as I stated in the post this is the first issue we've had with the phone. No, this was not a replacement phone, this is the same phone I bought from the apple store in December and had not been serviced by anyone, it did not have any issues until last week.

I now have snow leopard 10.6.3
I upgraded my os to snow leopard 10.6.3 from a recommendation from here to be able to upgrade my safari. Does any one know how I upgrade my safari now?
What I have now
os- snow leopard 10.6.3
safari - 4.0.4 (6531.21.100Run the Software Update pane of System Preferences twice. If that doesn't update you to a version of Safari new enough, you need to switch browsers, or if your Mac's compatible, upgrade it to Lion, Mountain Lion, or Yosemite.

My iphoto library was opened remotely via sharing on a computer using a newer (10.7) operating system. Now it won't open on mine (10.6). It says it needs a newwer version of iphoto, and I want this computer to stay at 10.6 for compatability with other programs. How can I access my photos?
When the library was opened you were warned this would happen.
You can restore your Library from your back up.
You can try revert the Library to the earlier version using iPhoto Library Manager
Or you upgrade to the same version. -
New operating system and now itunes library is blank. How can I get it back?
My computer got messed up and I ended up having to get a new operating system put on it. Now my itunes library is blank and my ipod says it can't synch (obviously) because it doesn't recognize the library. How do I get my old library back?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back -
DOwnloaded new operating system now camera is not clear and
Check you understand how the new Camera app works.
iOS 7 manual is here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1595/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf
Or download it from the iBookStore after installing the iBooks app. Look in the Free Books section. That way you can read it without an Internet connection. -
