Amarok unable to handle system:// locations

when i use the system:// location of KDE, amarok unable to locate the musik files, even if amarok was started by clicking the file.
when i use the "direct" method (eg: /home/musik/.../dontknow.ogg) the musik plays fine.

Yeah, you're right, I am currently using amaroK 1.4 beta 1, and if I try to add a track to the playlist from system:/home/media/audio/... , then it appears in the playlist but amaroK cannot play it. I looked in the amaroK bug database, and it seems that someone has filed a bug report about this for the xine engine. Are you using the xine engine? If not, then maybe you should go and report the bug. For now, maybe you could try using a different engine to see if that solves your problem.

  • Alienware M17x R2 Install issue "Setup was unable to create or locate a system partition"

    Hi, I have recently gotten a new alienware laptop for x-mas. I tried to set up Windows 7 64-bit Premium edition. and it comes to the spot that says "Where do you want to install Windows"? and when i try to click next (because it shows one of
    my drive partions there) it gives me some lame error that says it was unable to create or locate a partition... any help?

    Sounds like:
    1) the hard drive has a problem. Try booting into the BIOS and see if the drive is recognized
    or
    2) the drive adapter is unknown to W7. You may need to download the driver onto a floppy and press "F6" when prompted to provide drivers

    Java programs are run by a virtual machine which is running in userland. They don't "mess" with the kernel.
    OTOH, each userland program interacts with the kernel through system calls, signals, pageing activity, ...
    My guess is that it's either broken hardware, or a fault in the linux kernel.
    Is the crash reproducible? Does ist always crash with the same error message, at the same "eip" location?
    If the crashes are sporadic and non deterministic, with different error messages each time, then I'd say it's
    a hardware problem. Otherwise, it could be a linux kernel software problem.

    reboot is success.

  • File System Location properties: view path (OWB 11..2.0.1 Windows)

    Newbee question:
    From the tutorial "Handling Flat File and COBOL Copybook Sources in Mappings", I imported the metadata for ETL_OWNER. It contains file locations such as SRC_FLAT_FILES_LOCATION but I cannot find any way to view its path in the file system. I created my own file locations where I can specify a path in the Create File System Location wizard, but afterwards, I can neither inspect nor change the path.
    Thanks for help
    Sebastian

    Thank's for help, I am simply not used to the user interface. The Connections Explorer seems to have disappeared in 11gR2 but the Locations node still exists, listing all file locations. However, the property inspector does not display the file's path, somewhat counterintuitively. Double-klicking the file location opens the Edit window containing the path.

  • Application Issue - Adobe connect unable to handle "unreachable" responses

    Hi,
    We've discovered what seems to be a bug with the Adobe Connect application/flash player.
    For some reason when you have a proxy in place adobe connect still attempts to establish a direct connection to the adobe servers (for example na7fms2.adobeconnect.com), if these packets get dropped video plays with no issue.
    However in our case we have ACL's setup on our Cisco routing core (which do not allow this traffic), which in turn respond with "Destination Unreachable (Communication administratively filtered)".
    Adobe Connect seems to be unable to handle these responses and goes into a loop continiously attempting a direct connection (around every 10-12 seconds), therefore causing streaming video's to restart every 10-12 seconds.
    Below is a screenshot of the packet capture of the accurance.
    Basically we managed to create two of the following scenarios in our network.
    Video restarts every 10-12 seconds:
    Video plays with no issues:
    Now this "Destination Unreachable" response is completely legal in terms of RFC http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc792.txt
    It would be great if this issue could be raised as a bug and fixed in future versions.
    Thanks,
    Daniil

    Seeing the same issue.    Did anyone find any solution?.
    Only solution that I could see was opening HTTPS at firewall for only Adobe Connect servers.  Wasn't able to locate anything that published the network ranges for the Adobe Connect servers however.  Wasn't really a solution that I was happy with anyway.
    Only need to do this to allow 1 employee to access a recorded Adobe Connect meeting.
    Thanks
    Iain.

  • Unable To Handle Format

    Hi everyone. I am new to using JMF. I recently downloaded the JMF 2.1.1e (using the windows installer version). I ran a simple audio program using command prompt and Netbeans. The code is shown below:
    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;
    import javax.media.*;
    import java.io.File;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter;
    public class TrivialJMFPlayer extends Frame {
        public static void main (String[] args) {
            try {
                TrivialJMFPlayer f = new TrivialJMFPlayer();
                f.pack();
                f.addWindowListener(
                        new WindowAdapter() {
                    @Override
                    public void windowClosed(WindowEvent e) {
                        super.windowClosed(e);
                        System.exit(0);
                f.setVisible (true);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
        public TrivialJMFPlayer()
            throws java.io.IOException,
                   java.net.MalformedURLException,
                   javax.media.MediaException {
            FileDialog fd = new FileDialog
                (this, "TrivialJMFPlayer", FileDialog.LOAD);
            fd.setVisible(true);
            File f = new File(fd.getDirectory(), fd.getFile());
            Player p = Manager.createRealizedPlayer
                (f.toURI().toURL());
            Component c = p.getVisualComponent();
            if(c != null)
                this.add(c);
            p.start();
    }When I run the code using netbeans and eclipse, for any audio file i select, it gives this error message:
    Unable to handle format: ULAW, 8000.0 Hz, 8-bit, Mono, Signed, FrameSize=8 bits
    Failed to prefetch: com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine@2b313906
    Error: Unable to prefetch com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine@2b313906
    (actually this error message shows when I run a .au file. For other formats, its basically the same error, the parameters just changes.)
    When I run the code using command prompt (I'm using windows 7), it succeeds for files of .au and .wav formats. For .mp3 format, it shows the error message shown above.
    I then tried playing all the audio files (.au, .wav, and .mp3) using JMStudio and It worked!!! The error message obviously shows that I added the library correctly and it used them to run. I just do not understand why it cannot play some files in command-prompt and all files in an IDE!!
    I need help please!!!!! I would really appreciate it.

    I just do not understand why it cannot play some files in command-prompt and all files in an IDE!!Then you must not be very familiar with working with 3rd party libraries with an IDE...
    When I run the code using netbeans and eclipse, for any audio file i select, it gives this error message:
    When I run the code using command prompt (I'm using windows 7), it succeeds for files of .au and .wav formats. For .mp3 format, it shows the error message shown above.Netbeans and Eclipse use their own special PATH variables, which means they don't know where to find JMF.jar. You have to add that JAR file explicitly to your libraries path for your project.
    Further, JMF doesn't play MP3 files unless you also install the MP3 plugin.

  • Unable to determine current location at this time Mavericks

    Hello,
    I can't get location service running in Mavericks.
    I know it worked before. But somehow it stopped working. It doesn't work with map neither.
    Thanks in advance.

    Perhaps the 'network time server' for the region, that Apple uses, is down at this time(?)
    Not sure how one would go about reporting an issue, to somewhere it would matter...
    Try unchecking the box next to the automatic time zone location item & set it manually.
    {Edit to add: I noticed you asked of this in an older thread, that had suggested this:
    OS X Mavericks: Manage which apps can use Location Services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14318
    And I looked into that link, but it does not explain your issue.}
    The same item has occurred several times, as indicated by a few similar named topics
    that come up on a search via google of those same words; here's the link to that:
    https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=mac+os+x+unable+to+determine+current+locati on+at+this+time
    You may have to set the TimeZone manually and turn off the automatic location.
    This has been an issue in some places (regional, etc) since OS X 10.6.8. but
    I have no way of knowing if the cause may be the same or another behind it.
    However such an outage (if it could be proven as such) would be difficult to work
    around; short of testing the computer in a different Time Zone to see if that network
    server was working. Then you could tell if the issue is in the Time Zone you wanted
    to be using, and not in the computer itself. A matter of troubleshooting.
    {Since these ASC discussion are generally and simply product users who volunteer &
    try to answer some varying levels of questions, an inquiry here does not constitute a
    contact with Apple, Inc, directly. So please keep that in mind should nobody know
    where to look (if possible) to discover an exact match to your issue.}
    So, see if the clock and time zone work if you do not have the Automatic location set
    and choose the location manually instead. I don't believe a reset of the System
    Management Controller (SMC) or the NVRAM/PRAM may be of help; though these
    do have some bearing on settings in the computer, for different purposes.
    •Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    •About NVRAM and PRAM
    Hopefully you won't have to reset anything but the Date/Time panel in the Mac.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Unable to open System Preferences

    I am unable to open Systems Preferences on my MacBook Pro. I click on Systems Preference in the Apple Menus and it flashes but does not open. Thanks.

    By Apple Menus, I mean the Apple symbol on the top left. Then I select "system preference" and click on this. It does not open.
    I see thanks for explaining.
    Where do I find the Applications - System Preferences? I thought this was it. Thank you for your response.
    Open a Finder Window and you should see a folder called Applications or using your Dock click on Applications (probably on the far right of the Dock).
    BTW did you try restarting your computer? That helps in many situations like this.

  • Unable to open SYSTEM PROFILER

    Hi all,
    I updated my software to 10.5.8.
    Since then i'm unable to open system profiler.
    Tried using the:
    a) option button > then click system profiler
    b) spotlight
    c) apple logo > abt this mac>
    Please help.
    Many thanks in advance

    HI,
    Try deleting this file.
    com.apple.systemprofiler.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences.
    Move that file to the Trash then try to launch the System Profiler.
    If that doesn't work you could perform an Archive & Install which would reinstall a new copy of the Mac OS X for you which would install the System Profiler app.
    As with any installation, make sure and back up all important data first.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1545
    Then repair disk permissions...
    Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

    I have recently switched from MobileMe to iCloud and I now getting an error message in iCal :
    "The server is currently unable to handle the connection due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. If this continues you should contact the server administrator.
    You may try to connect to the server again or take the account offline."
    Since I am working from home and I am not on a server other than iCloud I don't understand why I am getting this message. (for 3 days). How do I fix it?

    TomCT60,
    Is your MacBook using Mac OS X 10.6.8 as indicated in your post? If so you will not be able to fully integrate with iCloud.
    iCloud and Snow Leopard, by Roger Wilmut describes what iCloud options are available for Snow Leopard.
    If you are using Lion, go to iCal>Preferences...>Accounts, and delete/re-add your iCloud CalDAV server.

  • Unable to see system variable no in sap b1 due to watch

    Dear Sir,
    In SAP B1
    I am generating report Customer Aging Report.
    In PLD   Customer Code is displaying buy i am unable to display customer name in PLD because when i am unable to see
    system variable number.
    The watch cover that variable no. how can i find system variable no.
    is there any other method to see system variable no.

    Hi,
    what you are seeing in system-> status is not the installation number that is the status of your system's SAP License
    when you have not installed the license properly after the installation, it shows the status as initial
    go to SM51
    there you can find the instance number along with the Hostname_SID_InstNumber of your server
    thanks and regards

  • Nmew32rg.dll - Unable to find EM location in the registry : RegQueryValue f

    Hi All,
    I am getting below error while installing companions "10203_vista_w2k8_x86_production_companion.zip" (32-bit) (HTTP server) on Windows 2008 sp2 64-bit machine.
    .....CALL INTO REGISTRY.....
    DLL TO LOAD = \nmew32rg.dll
    DLL LOADED
    Unable to find EM location in the registry : RegQueryValue failed
    REGISTRY VALUE = nullThis happens only if I do installation from command line by using response file. From OUI interactive installer it is being installed properly.

    Can you please suggest what additional things I need to take care to install companions using response file?

    Thanks Werner for reply !! I was really looking for any reply of my thread.
    I think it is useless to mention because something I did which is not supported,
    1. I installed "10204_vista_w2k8_x64_production_db.zip" database on w2k8 sp2 (64-bit) machine which is supported DB version for w2k8 environment.
    2. Companions are available for w2k8 64 bit but HTTP server is not there. It is only available in "10203_vista_w2k8_x86_production_companion.zip". This is a x86 (32-bit) setup and while doing interactive mode installation it is passing all prereq checks on x64 and not showing me any information to not to use this setup for x64. Also, it works fine after installation but not working in command-line installation.
    One last question,
    Will Oracle provide support on fixing this issue if I contact them or raise SR ?
