Your downloaded movie should be in the library tab of the Amazon instant video app.

  • Anyone able to play Amazon Instant Video using Apple Digital AV Adapter

Amazon just released the Amazon Instant Video app for the iPad July 31, 2012. Version is 1.0
It's not a great app yet. I can get it to play on the iPad (by itself). When I hook up the iPad to the TV using the Digital AV Adapter, the app gets very unstable, crashes at times, doesn't load shows....basically doesn't work. Virtually everything else on the iPad displays fine on the TV using the adapter. I've tried Safari, Netflix, and a couple of games just to see if the problem was with the iPad or the app. The problem is with the app.
I emailed Amazon support via feedback within the app, and got responses back similar to this:
"I'm so sorry for the trouble you facing with the Instant videos which you want to play on TV.
I understand now a days all the TV's are HDMI connected but I assure you that we are working for the improvements required on this field.
The Amazon Instant Video app for iPad does not support playback on HDMI-connected TVs.
Customer feedback like yours helps us continue to improve the service we provide. I've forwarded your feedback to our Amazon Instant Video team for consideration as we make future improvements."
I find it hard to believe they designed it to not work that way-I replied and asked them if it was...have not heard back yet.
Has anyone been able to view Amazon Instant Video on their TV from an iPad ? If yes, how did you do it.?

<"The makers of the app tell you it does not work that way, you think they are lying to you?">
Where did you read that the app doesn't support this?  Their app description says it does not support AirPlay. I'm not using AirPlay. It doesn't mention anywhere that it doesn't support iPads connected to TVs with HDMI, except in a support email response back to me.
With the iPad hard wired to the TV with the Apple Digital AV Adapter and an HDMI cable, on all of the other apps I've tried, the TV mirrors the iPad display. Even the few free games I tried would do this. This app falls apart when you hook up the HDMI to the iPad. To me that's a bug. I find it hard to believe that they designed it to not put out compatible digital video from the iPad. I would rather have seen their email response say that this is a known bug and that they are working on a fix. Maybe they are just beginning to understand the issues with version 1 and told the poor people answering the support emails to just say that it's not supported.
I'm not particularly upset with them, as it is v1.0 of a free app. It's got plenty of other shortcomings. I was hoping that it would work somthat we could take advantage of the Amazon Prime stuff we're paying for without having to go out and buy another set top box or Blu-ray player that was compatible with their stuff.
I would have gladly paid some money for a well designed app. Wish they had gone that route.

  • Transfer Amazon Instant Video Content from iPod Touch

I made the mistake of purchasing a TV season from Amazon Instant video, unaware that I would not be able to download my content to my MacBook. I was able to download the TV season to my Windows Desktop using Amazon Unbox, but the DRM protected WMV files will not play on my Macbook. I was also able to download the TV season to my iPod Touch, using the Amazon Instant Video app. So, I was hoping to transfer these files from my iPod to my Macbook.
Now my question is: Where are the downloaded video files saved on my iPod? I downloaded iFunBox to browse the files on my iPod, but I could not find the video files anywhere. Does anyone know where the Amazon Instant Video app saves downloaded content in the iPod Touch's file structure?
    Thank you,
    James

    Update:
I was able to locate the files I was looking for, however, they were not video files. Each TV episode is represented by a folder containing hundreds of small .data files.
Does anyone know if .data files can be reassembled into a video? I have a feeling this is linked to DRM protection.
    Thanks,
    James

  • How to display amazon instant video on a tv

I am trying to project an Amazon Prime movie from the Amazon Instant video App on my ipad to my TV.
I am using this cable and connecting through an HDMI cable.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD098ZM/A/apple-digital-av-adapter?fnode=3a
I can see the iPad on the tv UNTIL the movie actually starts and then the tv screen goes blank. We can hear the movie through the tv, but the video is just gone. I can watch other apps and play games that project on the tv.
Does anyone know how I can get the video to display on my tv from the amazon instant streaming video app?
    I am using this app:

    Thanks.

    You don't.
Probably due to licensing they have disabled video out.

  • Amazon Instant Video - 65L7350U

I have just got a 65L7350 3D Smart TV, comes with some applications I was particularly looking for Skype but the smart TVs that I looked at had the option to download more apps, this TV has already Netflix also, I am looking for the Amazon Instant Video app and I can't find a way to download it, does anybody know how I can do????

Does your SKYPE work on the Toshiba Smart TV 65L7350U?  Every time I run my Skype app it crashes the TV, and locks the screen to black, and escape to the Cloud page is the only way to get it to go away.  Skype tries to sign in, but every time it gets 2-3 seconds past the login for Skype, BLACK SCREEN.  Toshiba support has said it is a SKYPE problem, and not a TV problem.  Not sure what to do.

  • HT201335 No video when streaming from Amazon Instant Videos

When I select the Airplay button from the Amazon Instant Video App on my iPad 4 it only sends the audio to the Apple TV, it does not play any video. The Apple TV is wired into the ethernet while of course the iPad is wireless; not sure if that has anything to do with it. What does it take to get this working. If the only thing I can stream is iTunes I've wasted $100 on this box.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Amazon blocks AirPlay. It's not the Apple TV that you wasted money on, but purchasing content from Amazon. Use the iTunes Store for your content.

  • AirPlay Amazon instant video works very poorly

Whenever I try to AirPlay Amazon to my AppleTV, it works for crap.  Buffering, freezing, bombing out, inability to skip forward without it taking more time than if you had just let it play in real time.  If I use my iPad the video will start fine and play for a few minutes then will just stop.  Not that the video freezes, the image disappears from the screen and the iPad is back to the episode selection screen in the AIV app.  Then when I restart, the image is quite pixelated.  If I pause it for a minute or so at this point, the image will usually clear up once it starts playing again.  I get similar results while using the iPhone.  Is this an issue with the Amazon Instant Video app?  Using the app and watching right on the device works perfectly.  Is it a common or known problem?
My AppleTV is set to automatically update software, my phone and pad have the current iOS (8.0.2), but this has been happening since before iOS 8.0.
    Suggestions?

Yes - you are correct! The reason is the new Sony 4K TVs are on the Android TV platform. So apps that work with your television will not work with ours, and vice-versa. Sony is working on this, and they say the app will be available soon. Amazon's 4K site lists televisions that are compatible - all the Sony 2014 4K models are listed, but none of the 2015 4K models. So enjoy Amazon Instant Video in 4K! We'll just have to wait patiently until we can, too. I envy you, since I want Orphan Black, and other shows also, in 4K.

  • XBR55X850C Stutters with Amazon Instant Video

I just set one of these up a week ago. Still waiting for the promised 4k Amazon Instant Video app at the end of June, but in the meantime, the 2k app seems to have some issues. When streaming HD content I get an occasional stutter. If I try and adjust the volume while it is playing, it stutters a lot while the volume is being adjusted. I have no issues streaming HD content from Amazon Instant video on my other devices throughout the house--and this is all over a wired gigabit ethernet local network. Thoughts? Does ths TV go back? Stuttering at all isn't acceptable when the bandwidth is available, and stuttering like this when changing the volume?  Not cool at all.

I have the exact same issue. Videos are completely unwatchable using the Amazon Instant Video app on my 2015 Sony 4K set. Stuttering and freezing, even though I'm using hardwired, CAT7 cable, with internet speed of 75/75. It's not just your television. I believe they're all this way.  I'm waiting for the 4K app too. Until then I'm watching AIV on my PS4, which is solid as a rock.

  • My Amazon Prime Instant Video App does not show airplay symbol after IOS8 update

JUst found out that the Amazon Prime Instant video app lost the airplay possibility after IOS8 update on ipad and iphone.
Am I wrong or is there something I need to adjust on my devices?

Airplay is found by swiping up and enabling via control centre
Use AirPlay to wirelessly stream content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If AirPlay functionality has been removed or if there is error then it is up to the developer to fix

How do I watch Amazon Instant Video on my TV?

    Hi diesel vdub,
I made sure software was up to date on both Apple Smart TV and my iPad.  I still get the message, "Watching videos on mirroring isn't currently available on this app."  I have seen other people with same problem as well.   Guess I'm out of luck

  • HT201335 Airplay Mirroring for HBO Go or Amazon Instant Video

When I try to stream HBO Go or Amazon Instant Video from my Ipad to my Apple TV, the image starts then stops and states, "Watching videos with AirPlay or through HDMI isn't currently available with this app." Then, the sound comes through the television but no video. I just purchased the Apple TV and am using an iPad 2. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Hi.
In regard to your question, " If it doesn't work on iOS 5, then it shouldn't be in the store for iOS 5 devices. Right?"
The apps general purpose is to enable you to view content on the device. AirPlay compatibility is a secondary feature and was only recently added in Feb this year. So, making the app available to iOS 5 users makes sense.
The post I read specifically mentioned the problem of hearing audio but not seeing video via AirPlay that was resolved by upgrading the devices to iOS 6.
Unfortunately I ran across this thread while going through the Apple forums here trying to resolve the issue of the Airplay button suddenly not being available on any of my devices (a router reboot was the resolution btw). It was a pretty common result of every google search I tried so it shouldn't be hard to find.
I understand your hesitation to upgrade to iOS 6. I've held at 6.0 myself, which works fine, but 6.1 and 6.2 seem more trouble than benefit.

  • How can i use air play to play amazon instant videos through Apple TV on my television

I downloaded movies from Amazon Instant Video to my iPad (3rd generation).  When I go to play the movies on my iPad, it gives me the option to play via Air Play on my iPad or Apple TV.  If I choose Apple TV on my television, the audio will play but not the video.  How can this be resolved?

It's probably because the app is designed to not allow it.
When you tap on the Airplay icon, check what is the icon beside the AppleTV choice.  If it's a speaker instead of the AirPlay icon, it means the app will only send audio and no video.
Many streaming app restrict the video playback on external display.  It is not an Apple limitation but an third-party decision when they made the app.  I saw some TV app restricting Airplay video and some other not.  You should complain to the thrid party which will most probably reply this is related to advertisement contract to restrict the streaming playback on TV screen.
The next big thing here that may change this is Airplay mirrorring with Mountain Lion which is bypassing all of these restrictions.
