Amazon sold me fake EP-630'

My current EP-630's, which i adore, suffered a little damage so i ordered replacements off Amazon (last time i ordered direct from creative).
I knew something was up before i put them in, as soon as i heard the sound quality i knew these could not be EP-630's.
Much like a clock radio, wrapped in a towel, down a well. I've heard better from ? plasti-buds from the market.
Apart from the packaging, which is mostly chinese, the other differences are the same as mentioned in this thread.

Cheap cable that has one side longer than the other (i hate those) instead of a Y. Straight connector instead of an L, the A on the back is larger and more pointed, the plastic sheath below thinner and harder plastic. Also the silver rim has an indentation, off-centre on my good ones, centre-rimmed on the alleged fakes.
I should have known something was up because the price was ?.99 (an offer), and for some reason the seller was "MicroPriced". But i assure you, this was on the genuine EP-630 page, i went straight back to it from my browser history, the confirmation email, and also my accounts previous orders page on amazon to be sure. Now the page has the price at ?9.99. Hmm.
I assure you that anyone who got these appalling headphones, without knowing how superb geniune ones are, will be leaving bad feedback and spreading mis-information about Creatives headphones.
I'm contacting Amazon on Friday to ask them to investigate, if you can confirm that they are fake for me it would help.Message Edited by joetheblow8 on 0-8-200702:08 PM

Here is a link to 3 sellers who are selling supposedly genuine EP-630s through Amazon MarketPlace for ?8.75 when the Amazon price is ?9.99. Seem like bargains, don't they? Not if they're fakes, though.
An important distinction there is though that Amazon are not selling these, those are individuals or smaller stores.
Joe, do you have a link to the page you're referring to I just want to make sure which page it is before I pass this on or check into it.

  • Have i bought myself a fake EP 630?

I just bought mine earlier from a popular electronics retail store here in the Philippines. I chose to buy from there because I didn't want to risk getting a fake one from the internet. So when I put the phones to my ears, I was very shocked when I heard the quality of the sound. It was horrible. I was expecting a "bassy" sound since all the reviews I've read commented on the bassiness of the ep630 but what I got was the exact opposite. I could barely hear the bass drum and the bass guitar. The high frequency sound was overpowering. I can't even stand it. It's very frustrating. My previous earphone (priced at about $10) sounded more balanced compared to my new EP 630. So I searched the internet and found that I have a different box compared to one I found in Amazon.
Here's a pic of the box like the one i bought:
and here's what it's supposed to look like:
so is mine fake? What actions can I take? Can I demand for a replacement, since it's a big company? Should I file a complaint or something? please help. Even if it's small amount of money for some people, for me it's already a big deal. It's hard earned money.

Congratulations to your nice, new machine!
How to transfer your Aperture library will depend on where your library is located right now, and if it is referenced or managed.
Make sure, you have a working backup of your library -  you probably have, when you just installed a new system.
Connect your old iMac to your new iMac via USB or Firewire and boot your old iMac in Target Mode (hold down "T" while booting). This way your new iMac will see the old iMac as external disk.
If your library is managed, you can simply copy your Aperture library to its new location on the new iMac by moving it using the Finder, since all images are included in the library package.
If your library is referenced, you'll need to copy the original image files as well. This is best done by Aperture itself. Lauch Aperture on your new iMac by double clicking the library you just copied. Then select  the "Photos" view and select all images in the Browser. From the main menu bar select the command "File > Relocate Originals" and specify a folder on your new mac where to copy the originals to.

  • Fake EP-630? not the 'ebaysto

No it's not the same story about the EP-630 from Ebay.
I've bought my EP's by an dutch (yes I'm dutch, bad English included).
I've bought them by an dutch Internet shop called 'Chear'. (www.chear.nl)
It has good recentions on the large's ducht hardware sit tweakers.net and it was cheap (5 euro's, 20 dollars voor the EP's) so i've bought them there.
But the product itself, the cable doesn't feel so like 'rubber' as my old one's (wich are broken), they are also a bit brighter in color. The sleve's are a littlebit in another shape, feels also less like rubber and make a 'clicking' sound if i put them in my ears to far. also the plug has an slightly another shape (the gold plated part, the rubber cover have i removed to see of repairing was possible).
on the phone's self the L for left and R for right looks a little bid larger than original (witch ones are definitely authentic because they came back whit an RMA).
here is an (bad) picture, all on the left is probably fake and on the right is definitely authentic.
the serial number have i filled in in the site and is good following the site.

  • HT1688 Amazon sold me UNLOCKED iPhone and delivered it LOCKED HELP

I am an old APPLE customer, I had and have Ipods, Iphone, Ipads etc.
I recently bought through Amazon a 1 of: Apple iPhone 4S 16GB - AT&T - Black [Unlocked Phone] Condition: New Sold by: WorldWide Distributors
To my surprise this phone was delivered LOCKED, in spite the Amazon offer was UNLOCKED as above.
I did complain to Amazon, which denied help also in appeal, saying that I complained late.
I did talk and write to AT&T to help me unlocked the Iphone, and they finally said they do not unlock phones sold by Amazon
So Apple is the maker of the iPhone and I am the customer, but between us there is Amazon and AT&T doing what I call non-ethical distribution of Apple’s product (selling UNLOCKED and delivering LOCKED phones).
I have all documents (invoices, orders, e-mails with me)
My last hope is that APPLE can do something for me.
    Best regards

  • Purchased Student version from Amazon, key invalid.

I wish I didn't buy it from amazon, but I wanted the extra money off as I am a student with barely any money. Anyway, the product key they provided me isn't working. What should I do? I'm about ready to tell amazon to give my money back for selling me a fake key.

I will be surprised if amazon sold you a dodgy product.  Either you can't read the serial number or that you are not pressing the correct keys on your keyboard.
The best you could do is to write down the serial number in a plain text file in Notepad and get it double checked by somebody in your family or ask your friend to read it for you.  when you are satisfied it is correct, all you need to do is to copy that serial number and paste it in the boxes at the time of installation or after you have finished installing the product.  The product can be installed without the serial number and you can run it in trial mode for 30 days until you have sorted out the number issues.
    Good luck.

  • No big deal I guess but is my Speck Candyshell fake?

As I said it's not the end of the world if it is, but I'm just curious to know if anyone can tell if this is fake. I bought it off amazon for my iphone 5 and yes the price was a little less than speck itself (I'm UK by the way) but I didn't think amazon sold fakes really... I got it and it took me a while to realise that it was actually different to how I'd seen pictures of it - at the bottom, it's open, not covered with speaker grills. It fits the phone fine, the packaging looked legit, the only other things I would say are that the rubber inside does seem quite hard and I don't know how protective, when I know the cadyshells are meant to be really protective, and the camera cut out reveals some of the aluminium on the back of the iphone 5 which I don't think the real one (if this isn't) does. So It's obviously different to the 'proper' ones, but is this some earlier/reject model or something or is it just fake? I've attached photos, and I do know it's a bit of a pathetic post haha..But I might end up ensuring I get a real one in case my phone isn't protected properly so I just wanted to know, thanks

    Hi william,
Just click on it, hold the click down, and drag it to the desktop. Gone.
EDIT: I was assuming it was in the Dock. If it's in the top Menu Bar, then see Ferd's reply.

  • Is anyone else having problems with the Canon Online Store?

In the last month or so, I've had one problem after another with the Canon Online Store; from being unable to delete items from the shopping cart; to not being able to add "in stock" items; disappearing Wish Lists; and just now, I tried to add one lens cap to the 6 or 7 items I already had in the Shopping Cart, and they disappeared.
I've called, more than once, and I've written, also more than once, to Canon Support about this, but they ignore what I tell them, and tell me there are no problems with the Online Store.  They don't even seem to report to anyone that anyone has complained, because each time is "the first time", even though I've called (more than once) and written (more than once) to them about continuing Online Stores problems.
Is anyone else having problems with the Canon Online Store?
Why does Canon not care to track reported problems with the storefront part of their web-site?
I'm not trying to insult Canon, it's just that I've been a Canon customer for less than 3 months, and the're only batting .333, so far.  Canon Support was very quick to respond about a concern I had that a 50mm f/1.4 I had just purchased was authentic or not.  In trying to register that lens, I looked up on the Canon web site where to find the serial number.  Since my new lens did not have any numbers there, I was concerned I had been sold a fake.  But, then Canon Support sent me link to a different online document that showed a few different places where it might be, and there it was.
Is Canon like that with other problems, as well?  Or is their "batting" average better than my very limited experience?
I just love my Rebel T5i, and my Canon lenses (from "the Kit brothers of the Cropped Frame coral":  EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, and EF-S 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM; to the "Truly Nifty Fifty", the 50mm f/1.4 USM, [the f/1.8 is just a "thrifty fifty"], and finally, the "Super-Macro" MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1x-5x Macro)!
    Regards and Thanks,

    Hi Danny.  Thanks for replying.
I only use my desktop PC to access Canon's web site, and I've been using Mozilla Firefox for years.  And, yes, it is the latest version.  Since Canon REFUSES to support the use of Firefox on it's web site, WHAT BROWSER DOES CANON SUPPORT?  WHEN did Canon STOP SUPPORTING Firefox?
I've been told that there are 2 pending orders in my account.  Yet, I NEVER placed those orders!  WHY CAN'T CANON SEE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM???
Instead of off-target suggestions, and pasted boilerplate REFUSALS TO EVEN LOOK at this issue, I would prefer it if Canon went "old school", and FIXED THE PROBLEM, in the first place!  But, maybe that's a bit too grown up of an answer for you!
"Award-winning" support???   And, just exactly WHAT AWARD did Canon "support" WIN for CONSISTANTLY IGNORING REPORTED PROBLEMS???  The OSTRICH?
Please pull your head out, and FIX this problem, OR YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!!
Thank you for your "prompt" attention to this matter!

  • How to fix huge iTunes memory leak in 64-bit Windows 7?

iTunes likes to allocate as much as 1.6GB of memory on my dual-quad XEON 8GB 64-Bit Windows computer and then becomes unresponsive.
This can happen several times a day and has been going on for as long as I can remember.  No other software that I use does this - only Apple's iTunes.  Each version I have installed of iTunes appears to have this same memory leak.  Currently I am running version 10.7.0.21.
I love iTunes when it works.  But having to constantly kill and relaunch the app throughout the day is bringing me down.
Searching for a fix for this on the internet just surfaces more and more complaints about this problem - but without a solution.
Having written shrinkwrapped software for end users as well as for large corporations and governments for more than 25 years I know a thing or two about software.  A leak like this should take no more than a day or two to locate using modern software tools and double that to fix it.  So why with each new version of iTunes does this problem persist?  iTunes for Windows is the flagship software product Apple makes for non-Mac users - yet they continue to pass up each opportunity they have had over the years with each new release to fix this issue.  Why is this?
Either the software engineers are not that good or they have been told NOT to spend time on this issue.  I personally believe that the engineers at Apple are very good, and therefore am left thinking that the latter is more likely the case.  Maybe this is to coax people to purchase a Mac so that they can finally run iTunes without these egregious memory leaks.  I would like to offer another issue to consider.
Just as Amazon sold Kindles and Google sold Nexus tablets at low cost - not counting on margin for profit - but instead they wanted to saturate the marketplace with tools for making future purchases of content almost trivial to do with their devices.  Apple also counts on this model with their pricer hardware - but they also have iTunes.  Instead of trying to get people to switch to a MAC by continuing to avoid fixing this glaring issue in iTunes for Windows I would like to suggest that by allowing their engineers to address this issue that Apple will help keep Windows users from jumping ship to another music app.  The profit to be made by keeping those Windows users happy and wedded to the iTunes store is obvious.
By continuing to keep this leak in iTunes for Windows all it does is lower my esteem for the company and start to make me wonder if the software is just as buggy on Macs.

I have same issue. Ongoing for more than 1 year and currently running iTunes 11.3.
My PC is Dell OptiPlex 990 I7 processor, 8GB ram, W7 64 [always keep things patched up to latest OS updates etc]
I use this iTunes install to stream music videos etc to multiple appleTVs, ipads, iphones etc .. via Home Sharing
Store all my media including music, videos and apps on separate NAS  .. so the iTunes running on PC is only doing the traffic cop role and streaming / using files stored on NAS .. creates lots of IO across my network
Previous troubleshooting suggest possible contributing causes include
    a) podcast updates  .. until recently I had this auto updates on multiple podcast subscriptions, presumably the iTunes would flow this from the PC to save on the NAS across the network .. if the memory leak is in the iTunes network communication layer (?bonjour?)  this may be sensitive to IO that would not normally occur if the iTunes file saving was local on the same PC
    b) app updates .. have 200+ apps in my library and there is always a batch of updates .. some updates 100s of MB is size .. routinely see 500MB to 1GB of updates in single update run .. all my apps are
    c) streaming music / movies .. seems when we ramp up streamlining of music or movies . memory leak grows faster .. ie within hours of clean start
    c) large syncs of music or videos to ipads or iphones .. noticed that get big problems when I rebuild an ipad .. I typically have 60+ GB of data in terms of apps /  music / videos to load .. have to do rebuild in phases due to periodic lockups

  • What is necessary to transfer ownership of a CS4 product?

I have Web Premium CS4 for a Mac and don't use it any longer. What is necessary to transfer ownership?
Basically, I want to pass this on for sale. There was a transfer of ownership slip included with it when I purchased it in 2010, used.
I've seen these "used" Adobe products at Amazon sold as "open box" items. With Adobe, there is a registration involved in their products and also activation once installed on a computer. So I am presuming I need to de-activate it, and provide the transfer of ownership form to a prospective purchaser.
When I search on Adobe's website for customer service on these details, it turns out to become a very time consuming process, after better than a hour of going through the menu system I still have not been able to locate a phone #, or email option contacting them for information on this.
This is why I've come here - Adobe itself recommends the Community Board when the info on their tech support and customer service site has not answered the inquiry.

Unfortunately, no there is not a way to transfer ownership of a Shared Review.

  • Dualphone 3088.1 Handset and Receiver 3088.2

    Dear All,
I just bought an extra handset model 3088 to replace to current one that I have.
I bought it trough Amazon, sold by Chat and Vision, and received it ok.
When I tried to register, it never registered, and then after some googling I found out that there's not only one model of 3088, but several ones like 3088.1, 3088.2...
So... my base station is 3088.2 and the extra handset that I bought I found out that is a 3088.1... It seems that they don't communicate with each other.
The problem, is that that Company and Amazon didn't say nothing about models in anywhere of product description or any warnings to consumers... and now I have an extra headset that I can't register.
Would like to have your technical support about this situation, and your suggestions.

I would think that since they carry the same model number the version number should not have any affect on a successful registration of the handset.  As far as I can tell there is not much that has to be done to register a handset, so if it does not work, then the handset may be defective.
    The obvious:
Make sure the base station is on and the reset button has been pressed putting it in a mode ready to register handsets.
The key things I would try if it fails:
    1.  The battery from on the other working handsets, in case there is an issue with the one you received.
    2.  Deregistering all the other phones, and try to re-register that singular phone.
    3.  Resetting the base station and inserting the new phone into the cradle to register it.
You can alway pose your question about versions to dualphone support:
    http://dualphone.net/en/information/online_support/
You can contact Chat and Vision/Amazon about the same thing or inquire about returns or replacement:

  • Is it worth buying the iPhone 5 in Malaysia?

Hi guys! I'm going to Malaysia in a few days where the iPhone 5 retails for 700 for the 16 and 780 for the 32GB model. So that's about $100 cheaper than it is in Australia. So I was just wondering if it's safe and good to buy it in Malaysia. I will be using it in Australia so will my cellular data still work although I'm purchasing it from Malaysia? I'm also going to buy it from an Apple Premium seller, so I don't think that I'd be frauded and sold a fake iPhone.
    Thanks in advance.

Here's the deal, if you purchase your phone in Malaysia, your warranty/support will only be valid there. Any issues, & you'll have to physically return the phone to Malaysia for all warranty/support issues...you can't mail it back.
Is that worth saving a hundred bucks? Might want to think about that.

  • Serial number not accepted after purchasing LightRoom 5

I downloaded the 30 day trial of LightRoom, LightRoom Mobile and Creative Cloud, then decided to buy outright LightRoom 5 from Amazon (not wanting a monthly subscription to services I didn't need).
I got a serial number from Amazon, downloaded and installed my purchase and tried to enter the serial number. I got a screen message saying the serial number is invalid.
How can I fix this and activate what I have paid for?
BTW, why do I have to query a forum instead of getting advice from Adobe, who presumably have my money?

You probably need to contact Amazon unless they explicitly state that you need to contact Adobe.  As far as I can see Amazon sold you the software, not Adobe... Amazon has your money.  I am not sure how it works if you downloaded, but for the hardcopy it states that it "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com."
Did someone require you to query this forum or did you get directed here thru the following page:   Contact Customer Care
If you came thru that page, if you make the proper selections you should get an option to contact Adobe Support by chat and/or phone, though they are not a 24/7 operation like the forums can be.

  • Feature Request: Tagging coupled with Smart Folders

Would love to see the next version of Safari add tagging, as has been mentioned here before, but more importantly I'd like to see Smart Folder capability added as well.
I'm a big fan of Smart Folders in Mail; makes it easy to file -- I just drop everything in my "Saved Mail" folder, then set up the Smart Folders as needed (e.g., "Client Mail", "Mom", "Amazon - Sold, Ship Now", etc.
Applying the same process to Safari bookmarks would be wonderful. For instance, let's say I have a bookmark for the plastic modeling website Starship Modeler (starshipmodeler.com); I could tag it with "Modeling" (obvious), "Shopping" (since it has a store), "Sci-Fi", and then even more specific tags like "Star Wars" or "2001 A Space Odyssey". I could then make a smart folder that would find bookmarks tagged only with "shopping" and "Star Wars", and it'd show up there. But it would also show up in my smart folder just for "modeling", etc.
Right now I have hundreds of bookmarks if not more. I've tried a number of tagging programs but none really fit the bill. Native tagging, along with smart folders, would make Safari far and ahead my favorite browser (which it already is, but more so, eh?).

My iPad 2 'Home' button ceased working - this means that any application stayed on the screen, and I hadto power the device off to access another app.
Later, I follwed some of the advice online,  - powering it off while holding the 'home' button.  It didn't appear to work - but eventually it did! What did I do right? Is this a sign of bad things to come?
    It's 18  months old.

is it brand new cuz i remember hearing how ppl were sold the fake display versions of ipads and ipods so it might be that if not then send a report in to apple for a fixing or replacement if within warranty it will be free

  • How do I get a Final Cut Studio 3 license

    Hello,
I am interested on buying Final Cut Studio 3, but it is proving to be an uphill struggle. I am from Spain, and the few sites I know of that sell it can't send it overseas. So what can I do to get the suite?
And please, don't even mention Final Cut Pro X, it is not my thing...
    Thank you for your attention.

Final Cut Studio 3 is no longer available new. Amazon sold it until they ran out of stack. Your only hope is to find someone who no longer uses any part of the suite and is prepared to uninstall it and sell you the pacakage. This will mean that you will own the rights to use it. I did this with a copy of Smoke . I only use it now for the other parts .. not FCP7 , I use DVDSP and Sound Track Pro ..
