Amber/GDR2 Update niggle - Call Forwarding symbol

Hi there,
I recently updated my UK Lumia 920 'Everything Everywhere' variant to Amber/GDR2, but for some unknown reason the screen is now permanently displaying the 'Call Forwarding' symbol even though this feature is disabled.
Can anyone hazard a guess?
Richard

First try rebooting the phone ..
If its still there, May be there is a Message already forwarded to the Voice Mail .. ??

  • Amber + GDR2 updates

    Our phones 920 and 820 just got Amber and GDR2 updates. Is there Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy now supported ?

    according to the specifications, yes GDR2 and Amber update facilitates support of the Bluetooth 4.0 LE standard. though i haven't heard much from users who have stated that this indeed is the case, so to be sure i would check in person if possible if the desired accessory you are after indeed works with your device.

  • Call forwarding with airtel carrier

    Hello,
    I had the same issue with Airtel Carrier (India) , contacted the team and they said it possible to forward to only other airtel numbers . then i followed their suggestion by taking a new airtel number and tried to set that number for call forwarding but when i do that , i cannot recieve  even any calls to the present number also and they get that the number doesnot exist/something.
    i checked with carrier team and they everthing is fine with them , asked to check with apple device ...
    when i set , i get the call forward symbol on the left corner of the phone , i tried reseting my phone but still facing this issue ......
    it would be great help if someone can guide me ....
    thanks

    Hi, Jimliu, and welcome to the Community,
    Fabulous idea!  Unfortunately, the Skype Number feature does not provide such facility as you describe.
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • Call Forwarding Breaks with iOS 8.3 Update on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with AT&T

    Ever since the iOS 8.3 Update, call forwarding is no longer working on my iPhone 6 Plus.  I have spent dozens of hours troubleshooting with both AT&T Advanced Business Technical Support as well as many hours with top technicians from Apple at my local Genius Bars.
    This is a critical bug for me as I used to use the call forwarding option multiple times a day, EVERY DAY, because when I am in certain business locations my mobile phone gets no reception and calls go right to voice mail.  I need to have them forwarded to the land line I'm located at.
    APPLE, PLEASE HELP!!!
    I've done extensive testing, and this seems definitely to be related to Apple iOS 8.3, and it seems to be specific to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus ONLY.
    To illustrate the EXACT problem:
    A: Settings -> Phone -> Call Forwarding
    B. Call Forwarding - Turn on
    C. Enter Number and return to previous screen by touching the blue "Call Forwarding" to return to previous screen.
    D. Call forwarding button is "green" for a split second, then returns to previous OFF state and no forwarding number is displayed.  DOES NOT WORK.
    NOT AN AT&T PROBLEM.  IF SOMEONE IS EXPERIENCING THIS WITH OTHER CARRIERS PLEASE COMMENT HERE.
    Further validation this is isolated to iOS 8.3 on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus ONLY and not the sim card from AT&T...
    Here are the latest steps I did with my AT&T sim card and my wife AT&T sim card (she has an iPhone 5s):
    1. Removed my sim and put it in the 5s. The phone said that a "carrier update" was required and I selected "NO" to that prompt.  Call forwarding functionality worked as expected on the 5s running iOS 8.3
    2. I removed the sim from the 5s and re-inserted it.  This time I selected "YES" to do the carrier update to eliminate that as a variable, and the call forwarding functionality still worked as expected.
    3. I then placed my wifes sim in my 6 Plus. Call forwarding functionality does NOT work on the 6 Plus (was not prompted for carrier update). Also, keep in mind this is my second phone (Apple provided me with a new iPhone 6 Plus when they couldn't resolve the problem at the Genius Bar after hours of troubleshooting).
    Note: I did one additional test which as interesting:  I put my sim in the 5s and turned call forwarding "on".  Then, I put the sim back into my 6 Plus.  The calls were still being forwarded to the number I put in while it was in the 5s, but the call forwarding interface in the 6 Plus showed that it was NOT forwarding calls.  I could not turn OFF the call forwarding from the 6 Plus and had to put the sim back into the 5s in order to turn off the call forwarding.
    If anyone has an update on this, or any other suggestions please advise!  This is a critical issue for me as when I travel and when I am in poor areas of reception I need to forward calls.  This is a featured I was using multiple times a day, EVERY DAY.
    APPLE?????????  HELP!!!!!!

    Yes, I am dealing with this right now on at&t with a 6 plus. I've been down the same road as you. I got it to work with a windows phone yesterday but not my 6 plus when I switched back to the iPhone. My wifes 6 works fine. I believe it is an at&t issue and not an 8.3 issue. After dealing through several levels of support at at&t, they are telling me it has to do with their transition to hd voice. Some people are having this issue because they are updating their system and some peoples phone profile, on phones that have hd voice capabilities, are not getting added to their line and call forwarding will not work without it. I have a trouble ticket open to their engineering dept and they promise it will work for me on or before the 24th of april. Engineering has to build my phones profile so call forwarding will work with my iPhone.
    This is frustrating because like you, I need to forward my calls because I have no signal in my office and need to forward to another phone so I can get my calls. If at&t would quit dragging their feet and enable wifi calling, this wouldn't be an issue for me. I would suggest you put more pressure on at&t and escalate this until it gets resolved. Or put your sim in a phone that does not have hd voice capability and see if it works then.
    Good luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be fixed for me on or before the 24th. We'll see.
    EDIT: I see you did put it in another phone and it worked. That backs up that the issue is at&t and their hd voice upgrades. They had no explanation as to why some work and some don't, but have them make sure a profile for your phone is on the line. If not, they'll need to build one for the phone so that it''l work. At least that's the story for now. Like I said, I'll know more in a day or two.

    Hi lepyykko,
    If I understand your question, you are trying to update your iPhone, but you are seeing an error message that iTunes for Windows is not installed, is that right?  The first step is to get iTunes successfully installed on your computer.  Then backup the iPhone before updating the iOS software.
    Are you seeing any error messages when you try to install iTunes for Windows?

    The easiest way to update your device is wirelessly, also called “over the air.” Here’s how:
    Plug in your device to a power source.
    Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
    Tap Download and Install. Updates might download automatically while your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a power source.
    Tap Install, or tap Later to install the update later. If you use a passcode, you'll need to enter it before installing the update.

  • Call forwarding broke after 1.1.2 update

    after updating to 1.1.2 call forwarding was rendered useless. Every time I try to enable it I get a pop up box that says something like "cannot save settings" and only let's me dismiss the box. I went to the genius bar and they verfied that any phone that has the 1.1.2 update has the same problem. Do you all have the same problem? I hope that Apple is reading this. I need my call forwarding back.
    Thanks
    Justin

    Call ATT and ask them to check your Immediate Call Forwarding Provisioning. This was the problem on my account… see below for the nitty-gritty.
    I was experiencing a similar issue in that my call forwarding settings could not be saved. I spoke to ATT for a while and then to Apple for a long time wherein we tried everything and eventually restored the iPhone software. Still no go.
    I called ATT and explained the issue to the first line customer service person. Since it didn't appear to be an iPhone issue, I asked if someone in Technical Support could help with the settings on my account. They said that Technical Support would likely be annoyed at him for transferring me to them and would likely end up transferring me to Apple. He did transfer me to Technical Support and after about 15 minutes of hold time, the very friendly Technical Support person (Trina) saw what was wrong about 10 seconds after I explained the problem. She changed a setting and the feature was back to working without even having to restart the phone.
    I asked to speak with her supervisor (Steve) to express my gratitude for her quick help and to suggest that they share (through their knowledgebase or whatever the frontline customer service people use) the ease with which my particular problem was solved so that they could spare someone else the time that was spent on non-productive attempts at solutions.

    If your router is sending a SIP/2.0 403 Forbidden error to the SIP server you are registered to, there is a good chance your  router is blocking the incoming call due to the toll-faud prevention  feature that was added to IOS version 15.1(2)T.
    How to Identify if TOLLFRAUD_APP is Blocking Your Call
    If the TOLLFRAUD_APP is rejecting the call, it generates a Q.850       disconnect cause value of 21, which represents ‘Call Rejected’. The       debug voip ccapi inout command can be run to       identify the cause value.
    Additionally, voice iec syslog can be       enabled to further verify if the call failure is a result of the toll-fraud       prevention. This configuration, which is often handy to troubleshoot the origin       of failure from a gateway perspective, will print out that the call is being       rejected due to toll call fraud. The CCAPI and Voice IEC output is demonstrated       in this debug output:
    %VOICE_IEC-3-GW: Application Framework Core: Internal Error (Toll fraud call rejected):
    IEC=1.1.228.3.31.0 on callID 3 GUID=F146D6B0539C11DF800CA596C4C2D7EF

       >>>>CCAPI handed cid 3 with tag 1002 to app "_ManagedAppProcess_TOLLFRAUD_APP"
    000185: *Apr 30 14:38:57.251: //3/F146D6B0800C/CCAPI/ccCallDisconnect:
       Cause Value=21, Tag=0x0, Call Entry(Previous Disconnect Cause=0, Disconnect Cause=0)
    The Q.850 disconnect value that is returned for blocked calls can also       be changed from the default of 21 with this command:
    voice service voip
    ip address trusted call-block cause
    How to Return to Pre-15.1(2)T Behavior
    Source IP Address Trust List
    There are three ways to return to the previous behavior of voice       gateways before this trusted address toll-fraud prevention feature was       implemented. All of these configurations require that you are already running       15.1(2)T in order for you to make the configuration change.
    Explicitly enable those source IP addresses from which you would like           to add to the trusted list for legitimate VoIP calls. Up to 100 entries can be           defined. This below configuration accepts calls from those host           203.0.113.100/32, as well as from the network 192.0.2.0/24. Call setups from           all other hosts are rejected. This is the recommended method from a voice           security perspective.
    voice service voip
    ip address trusted list
      ipv4 203.0.113.100 255.255.255.255
      ipv4 192.0.2.0 255.255.255.0
    Configure the router to accept incoming call setups from all source           IP addresses.
    voice service voip
    ip address trusted list
      ipv4 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
    Disable the toll-fraud prevention application completely.
    voice service voip
    no ip address trusted authenticate
    Two-Stage Dialing
    If two-stage dialing is required, the following can be configured to       return behavior to match previous releases.
    For inbound ISDN calls:
    voice service pots
    no direct-inward-dial isdn
    For inbound FXO calls:
    voice-port
    secondary dialtone

  • Is it possible to separate call forward unregistered & busy on a device profile?

    I've got the following situation cropping up a surprising amount at our site:
    User has 2 jobs within our institution. Works 3 days a week on job 1, 2 days on job 2. Each job is billed to a different cost centre, and the user doesn't want to be getting calls for job 1 when they're supposed to be working on job 2, and vice versa.
    As such, we've created them 2 device profiles. When they log into the phone at the desk of whichever job they're currently working, they get prompted for which profile they want to log in to. The other device profile (if still logged in to the phone on the desk of the other job) is then forcibly logged out.
    When profile 1, for job 1, is logged in, but the user is already on a call, they want incoming calls to that extension to be directed to their voicemail (i.e. set Call Forward Busy [Internal|External] to send to voicemail). They can then check voicemail and follow up on the call as soon as they're off the current one.
    When profile 1/job 1 is logged *out*, i.e. they're currently working job 2, they want incoming calls to job 1's extension to be immediately diverted to a colleage within the same job 1 team.
    I thought I could do this by utilising Call Forward Unregistered [Internal|External], but this does not seem to be the case. When a device profile is not logged in to a device it seems like the busy trigger just gets treated as 0 so the value of Call Forward Busy is followed. I can't see any situation where Call Forward Unregistered is ever utilised if an extension is only associated with a device profile.
    Is there any way to do what I want (without massively convoluted configuration on Call Manager)? If not, do people think this is worth raising as a feature request (or bug in expected behaviour) for later versions of Call Manager?
    We're currently on CUCM 8.5, FYI, in case this is something that's already been updated in version 9 or later.

    Some progress on second idea. Saved a copy of universal access plist with cursor set to large then set the cursor to small again. Replacing the plist file had no effect until I went into the UA pane and changed a setting at which point it must rewrite the file and refresh because the cursor size also changed at this point.
    Tried the same again and restarted Finder, no effect. Also tried altering another pref pane instead with no effect. Need a way to force the computer to look at the plist files, no idea how though. :-)

  • After installing 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4 I no longer get notification when another call comes in when I'm on another call. In phone settings I no longer have the icons for call waiting and call forwarding. My carrier is sprint

    I no longer get notifications that another call is coming in when I'm on the phone. In the settings under phone I do not see any availabilty for call waiting or call forwarding. I had this feature before installing the new update 6.0.1.

    Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer.  As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
    You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you.  I'm sure you'll pay, however.
    Let this be a very important lesson learned.
    Best.

  • Call Forwarding Icon Stays On After Call Forwarding Turned Off

    I have the problem described here: http://forums.precentral.net/palm-pre-pre-plus/271878-help-me-diagnose-glitch-call-forwarding-webos-... .
    I see the problem on my unlocked GSM Pre2 with AT&T, and it goes away when I put my sim card in my old Treo 680. The calls stopped actually forwarding when I turned off call forwarding on the Pre2.  However, the call forwarding icon comes back on the Pre 2, and even shows when I move the sim to my Treo.  It turned out that reading the call preferences from the Treo was enough to reset the icons for both phones, and the icon stayed off until the next time I forwarded calls. Maybe the Pre2 was failing to update something on the SIM to match the status on the network, but the Treo got it right?
    Anyway, I don't want to be swapping my sim card around every time I forward calls, and I can't count on my Treo to last forever either.
    Any better ideas?

  • Unable to deactivate call forwarding on my Att IPhone 6

    I Am unable to deactivate my call forwarding feature on my iPhone 6. I have reset my phone, turned it off for 30 minutes as well as tried to input my own number into the forwarding box. It shows that it is turned off(button is turned to white) but the symbol is still displayed at the top of my screen and  calls are still being forwarded.

    Call forwarding is a carrier feature, did you talk to them?

  • Call forwarding and 8.3

    Since updating to 8.3, I am not longer able to activate call forwarding. I use at&t and have used this feature before, but not since upgrading to 8.3. Won't turn on in settings or dial pad. When I try to set it, forst there is no ok button. All you can do is back out of the forwarding screen. When I do, call forwarding dims out for about 2 seconds and then just shuts back off. Get an error trying to forward through the dial pad. I've called at&t and they reset my account and said they are having no issues with forwarding. Had a friend test forwarding on his iphone and at&t and his forwarding works fine, since he's still running 7.1.2.
    Anyone else having this issue and/or did you get it sorted out? I need to be able to forward my calls. Help.

    Hello, jtmo3.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    I understand that you are unable to activate call forwarding on your iPhone.  Depending on what carrier you have, this could be related to a provisioning issue.  I would recommend checking with your carrier to make sure this feature is provisioned or not blocked.

  • Checking for an updated variable value in symbol timeline

    I'm making a puzzle which involves moving crates in a specific order to get a character from one side to the other. Take a look at http://tinyurl.com/c4vwcj9 to get the gist of it.
    Each crate is a symbol with it's own timeline. A crate may only move a pre-determined direction and distance once clicked. No more than 2 crates can be pulled out of the grid at any one time.
    The timeline of each symbol has three states: "Original", "Moved" and "Returned".
    If you have a play around with the puzzle as it stands so far, you will see most of the logic arguments work ok. However, the problem I have is when you pull a crate out of the grid and it needs to check if it can move back into place.
    To see what I mean:
    - Pull out the bottom left corner crate
    - Move the crate to the immediate right, thereby blocking the previous crate
    - Try to move the bottom left corner crate again (you should get an error message and it shouldn't move - this is fine)
    - Move the other crate back to it's original position to unblock the previous crate
    - Try to move the bottom left corner crate a final time (you still get the error message and it doesn't move - this is not fine!)
    A quick debug has revealed the second mouse click doesn't fetch the updated variable AFTER the symbol timeline begins to play, but the same methodology works just fine for crates that check for impeded movement BEFORE a symbol timeline is played (try one of the inner crates). Why isn't it getting the updated value and what can I do to solve it?
    Below is a sample of the code specific to the bottom left crate. I've highlighted the variable and arguments specific to the problem. Please excuse what is no doubt poor Javascript coding conventions - I only started learning this last week!
    //-- Get needed variables
    // Check to see if other crate is impeding movement and define value as a variable
    var myCrateCheck = sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_b_2x1crate_h").getVariable("Crate2");
    // Check to see what this crate's status is and define value as a variable
    var mySelfCheck = sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_bl_3x1crate_h").getVariable("Crate1");
    // Check to see if other crates have been moved out of the main grid. Parse value as an integer in base 10.
    var myGridCheck1 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_br_2x1crate_v").getVariable("Crate3_ grid"),10);
    var myGridCheck2 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_bl_4x1crate").getVariable("Crate4_gr id"),10);
    var myGridCheck3 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_bl_2x2crate").getVariable("Crate5_gr id"),10);
    var myGridCheck4 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_cl_2x1crate_h").getVariable("Crate9_ grid"),10);
    var myGridCheck5 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_cl_1x1crate_1").getVariable("Crate13 _grid"),10);
    var myGridCheck6 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_cr_3x1crate_h").getVariable("Crate16 _grid"),10);
    var myGridCheck7 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_tl_2x1crate_h").getVariable("Crate17 _grid"),10);
    var myGridCheck8 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_tc_2x2crate").getVariable("Crate18_g rid"),10);
    var myGridCheck9 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_tr_2x1crate_h_1").getVariable("Crate 19_grid"),10);
    var myGridCheck10 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_tl_3x1crate_h").getVariable("Crate20 _grid"),10);
    var myGridCheck11 = parseInt(sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_tr_2x1crate_h_2").getVariable("Crate 21_grid"),10);
    // Create a variable called myGridCheckSum, make sure it's a number and sum the above
    var myGridCheckSum = 0;
    myGridCheckSum = myGridCheck1 + myGridCheck2 + myGridCheck3 + myGridCheck4 + myGridCheck5 + myGridCheck6 + myGridCheck7 + myGridCheck8 + myGridCheck9 + myGridCheck10 + myGridCheck11;
    //-- Logic & Conditional Statements
    // If this crate is in any position other than "Moved", and more than 1 box is already out of grid zone - prevent move and alert
    if ((mySelfCheck != "Moved") && (myGridCheckSum >1)){
    alert('Too many boxes outside of grid zone');
    sym.stop();
    // Or else, if this crate is in any position other than "Moved", but less than 2 boxes are out of grid zone - allow move
    else if ((mySelfCheck != "Moved") && (myGridCheckSum <2)){
    sym.play();
    // If this crate has moved but the other crate hasn't moved, play remainder of symbol timeline
    else if ((mySelfCheck == "Moved") && (myCrateCheck != "Moved")){
    sym.play(3001)
    // If this crate has moved and the other crate is also moved, alert and loop back on timeline
    else if (myCrateCheck == "Moved"){
    // Alert user to say crate cannot be moved
    alert('This box is being blocked by another!');
    sym.play(2999);

    Resolved. Silly little syntax error on a variable rewrite on another symbol!

    You can try resettng it but if it doesnt resolve, I suggest you bring it back to the care point so they can reflash it. I suspect they may have used the wrong version.

  • 8330 Call Forwarding...How do I set the number of rings before calls are forwarded?

    8330 Call Forwarding...How do I set the number of rings before calls are forwarded? Right now it instantly forwards my calls but I don't want that. I want to change it so that let's say that if after 5 rings I don't answer the call is forwarded. I've looked everywhere for an answer but have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I am with Virgin Mobile if this makes a difference.
    Thank you

    Well, call forwarding is a feature provided by your carrier -- it is not a function of the device. However it works for your carrier is how it works. Actually, from what I understand about call forwarding, it normally is an all-or-nothing circumstance...calls forward to the number you've asked them to be forwarded to, keeping you in a DND status. Regardless, though, if your carrier tells you how it works on their system, there's nothing that the device can do to override that. Unless there is some kind of 3rd party app that would do it, bypassing (somehow) the carrier network CF feature...but I've never heard of such a thing.
