Amcom Messenger Service to Cisco 7921/7925

When we try and send a message to a 7921/7925 phone.
We get this error message in AMCOM "Unable to send message to #MAC# due to no IP address. The device is either off, recently turned on, Unregistered or not within the CUCM"
The Amcom message goes through but we get no alert on the phone that we received it .
It was working fine didn't make any changes to Call Manager.
Amcom Messenger  V5.5.6
CUCM V8.5.1
Has anyone had the same issue?

  • Cisco 7921/7925 sound information leaving WLAN

    Hi,
is it possible to play an beep or something else on the 7921/7925 if the phone is leaving the wireless service are?
    Regards
    Paul

Correct.  This is documented in the 7925G Deployment Guide as well, where this option is configured per phone in the Cisco CUCM.

  • Support mobile wireless handsets on UC320, such as Cisco 7921/5?

The UC320 is great, a major improvement over the UC 520.  Can you talk about any plans to support mobile wireless handsets like the Cisco 7921 or 7925 on the UC320 so employees can be reached via local WiFi while walking around.
Also will the UC320 someday support a WiFi connection to the AP541N Wireless LAN Access Point?  Thanks.

The indecision Paul talks about in respect of the UC320W is in sharp relief to the Cisco OnPlus Agent and Service where there is community consultation on roadmap development and rapid delivery of these features.  I can only think Matthew is right and that Cisco thinks the features requested for the UC320W will bastardise their UC540/560 market.  At the lower end of that market they are probably right.  However, in my country a recent government report stated that 97 percent of all business enterprises employee less 19 people or less.  These enterpises employ around 80 percent of the working population.  By nature of their size these businesses simply cannot afford the UC500 range of products.  It is a huge market for a product of the UC320W's ilk but these business will not be fobbed off with a product like the current UC320W with a very limited range of features.
Right now the indecision in how this product is to develop means we do not sell it, albeit we believe it has great potential.  However, we can't sell potential without a defined and commited roadmap and commitment from Cisco to the product.  If not that, then please put us all out of our misery and EOL the UC320W.
Does the recently released SPA302D DECT handset have potential to be a DECT solution for the UC320W?

  • Unable to Externally Register Phone Services on Cisco Jabber Client via Expressway E

    Hi,
I have currently deployed Cisco Jabber along with Expressway C and E for external regeneration without VPN. I have successfully registered IM and Presence service externally on the internet and I am able to chat with other Jabber users.
I am not able to register phone services for Cisco Jabber client who are registering externally over the internet without VPN.
I have checked that all the users are able to use IM and Presence along with Phone services in the internal network and over the internet using VPN. I have configured the required DNS SRV records on both the internal and external DNS Servers.
I am attaching a screen shot of the Jabber Client that is registered over the internet along with this post for your reference.
Appreciate if you can share your thoughts on the same.
Please do let me know if you need any further informaiton.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Joseph Chirayath.

I am testing with an android device, and I had to add a "digest user" on the BOT device in order for this to work. Phone services are now connected.

  • How do i find out who my blackberry messenger service provider is?

Hi bought a second hand vodafone blackberry in UK - now in barbados - want to use the blackberry messenger service .Went to the local phone companyies who explained the phone current subscriber needs to deactivate the service. I rang  Vodafone uk states their are not the messenger subscriber for the phone. Is their a way on the phone i can find out who is the current subcriber is - and to de-activate it so i can get the activated with a local provider ? Thanks

    hello,
please read the following article from the public knowledge base:
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
The previous owner of the device has linked his device to his carrier. In the article, in step 2 of the "seller" part he is supposed to have released the PIN of the device, so that you can link that PIN to your own carrier.
You need to contact the previous owner and ask them to do step 2.

  • Using a wildcard in the contact number for a messenging service.

I am a volunteer firefighter. Our fire company uses a messenging service to send MMS notifications when there is a call. All of the messages come through as 1(410)000-nnn where nnn = the sequential message number. E.g. let's say I get a text at 06:00, the sender is 1(410)000-236 Then, I get another call at 11:00 and the sender is 1(410)000-237, etc.
I would like to add the number to my contacts using a wildcard so that any text from, say, 1(410)000-### is listed as "Fire Company". Is there any way to accomplish this?

It's the same story with phone numbers. E.g. let's say I am a Geico customer and because they are so big, they have their own trunk line. Thus, any number from 123-456-nnnn is going to be Geico. I don't really care to program 10,000± numbers into my phone. I just want to know that it's Geico calling me. Programming 123-456-#### or something for "Geico Insurance" would be nice.

  • Yahoo Messenger - Service Not Enabled on this Handheld

I just installed Yahoo Messenger and get this error when I try to sign on.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?  I have a BlackBerry Unlimited Internet and Texting package through ATT and I have the BB Curve.

AT&T doesn't allow yahoo messenger. There is a workaround, but I don't have a link to it. It is kind of involved, but doable. (Having said that . . . I didn't do it.) You should be able to find it through google or crackberry.com or even the RIM forums.
I just downloaded JiveTalk. $20 and it works like a charm across pretty much any messenger service I think. I know for sure it works on yahoo and ms live messengers.

  • Failure to Synchronize Directory Services in Cisco Desktop Administrator

    Hi,
I'm not able to synchronize directory services in Cisco Desktop Administrator. I found a document but it's for older versions of Cisco CRS version 3.1(3) SR2. I'm using Cisco CRS version 5.X.
I hope that someone can help me.
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
We already performed those steps but it's not working.
On Cisco.com I found the same kind of issue but with CRS 3.1 (Failure to Synchronize Directory Services in Cisco Desktop Administrator - Reset Password). I tried to find a similar document but for CRS 5.x, but all in vain. I will attach the document and I hope and someone can help me to solve this issue in the CRS 5.x version.
    Thanks.

  • Security Mode Cisco 7921

What Security mode on the Cisco 7921 is recommended? EAP FAST?
    Thanks
    Justin

Yes is based on customer requirements. If going the 802.1x route, would suggest EAP-FAST, PEAP or EAP-TLS. Can then use WPA or WPA2 depending on the level of security and encryption required. However, when using 802.1x, we recommend to implement CCKM (fast roaming), which is supported only with WPA(TKIP). Some customers rather go with the standards (i.e. PEAP vs EAP-FAST). In the future the 7921, will be able to do server validation as well by installing the authentication server certificate. For EAP-TLS, this requires higher management due to having to issue client certificates.

  • Since two days my MSN messenger service will not launch any more

Since two days my MSN messenger service will not launch any more saying that I am either not connected to the internet or that the service is unavailable. Neither is the case as I can access my hotmail directly via the web. What can be causing this all of a sudden and how to rectify it? What am I missing.

Sounds like you need a hardware repair. Contact Apple using expresslane.apple.com if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Alternatively carry the MacBook in to an Apple retail store or service provider to ask for an estimate.

  • Cisco 7921: loose the network

    Hi everybody,
I'm a french cisco solutions user since three month and I've got problem with one IP phone (cisco 7921). I can't find informatrion in France relative to my problem so I leave a message in this forum.
I explain: One of my 7921 phones disconnect ten time an hour and during conversations. Sometimes, people who call on this phone are redirected to the answer message.
This phone is connected through WIFI network and Cisco Callmanager 4.2 manage all phones (we have about 80 phones on the network). I thought it was a problem with the phone but I exchange with another one and it's exactely the same problem. The problem is just for a line in particular.
All the 7921g phones in my company are configured from mac address in the call manager.
This problem occured after a storm but I'm not really sure that it's related to...
have you ever encountered this problem ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Stephane Hardy

I have seen this behavior - and related symptoms - if the WLAN is has a coverage hole or other misconfiguration. The only answer I can really provide for such a general/broad problem report is to refer you to the Voice over Wireless LAN Design Guide. VoWiFi is extremely touchy and requires a carefully engineered wireless network for reliable performance. You may want to consider moving this thread into the wireless area of the forum if you need more specific wireless troubleshooting assistance.
One easy way you can watch for this is to set the Out-of-Range Alert on the Device Configuration of your 7921 within CUCM. The phone will beep whenever it looses contact with the AP. This isn't an end-to-end test, all it can do is draw attention to a lose of contact with the AP.

  • Prepaid Services on Cisco 3640 Router

    Dear All.
I intend to Configure the Prepaid Services on Cisco 3640 Modular Router for the Long Distance and International Calls. The Service is to Offer the Usual IVR like Welcome to XXX and than the Prompt for PIN Number etc.I have got good hand on the VoIP configuration but have no Idea about the Prepaid Configuration. Can Anyone help me in brining up my Prepaid Services ?? Also,I learnt the Voice Prompts has to be made available .Are they supposed to be inside the Box or can reside on any External Server and can be loaded whenever the Cisco gets a Preapid Call ???Do I have to learn the TCL Scripting to acheive this Proposed Project.Pls,I look forward to get an Early response on the above matter.
    Thanks,
    Gopal Bisht.

What you are refering to is the Prepaid Calling Card system, or DebitCard. You don't need to know TCL unless you want to customise the solution.
Prompts are stored on a tftp server and downloaded as necessary.
Here is some information on the Debitcard system -
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1835/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080080a99.html
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2192/products_programming_reference_guide09186a00800e9a2c.html
The system needs an external billing server that runs a special application to handle all the account balances and authentication. It's not just a matter of a configuring the scripts on the router. A common server application is from MindCTI -

  • Messenger services

Okay I'm trying to figure out why all of my messenger services just stopped working. Im deployed military so these tolls are very important to me to use. Any help or suggestions would be great. The services I have been using are Adium (aol, yahoo, msn, jabber), Yahoo msngr, and Msn msngr, iChat even stopped connecting. Is there a port that I can check to see if it went offline? I have just recently started developing some problems with my Macbook, so Im not sure if this is another. Thanks In Advance

Do other members of your unit experience similar problems? There was a news article awhile back here in the civilian world that spoke of some sort of security crackdown on traffic going into .mil networks.
Also, if you are currently in the Middle East/North Africa/India regions and using non-.mil networks, there have been severe connectivity problems recently due to several transoceanic optic fiber links being damaged ([one|http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/jan/31/internet.blackout.asia?g usrc=rss&feed=networkfront], [two|http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5hTi5wNwTD66nvWdTAQw20SaFI_GQ], [three|http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/third-undersea-cable-reportedly-cu t/story.aspx?guid=%7B1AAB2A79-E983-4E0E-BC39-68A120DC16D9%7D], [four|http://www.arabianbusiness.com/510132-internet-problems-continue-with-fou rth-cable-break?ln=en] cut cables, no less). This has forced many ISPs to do traffic shaping and curtail many protocols such as Instant Messaging in order to conserve bandwidth.
