AMD chipsets?

I'm looking into a few board i was just wondering which one is better AMD-8131 or the AMD-8151? This board has cough my eye what do you all think? Any running a MSI K8T Master2 if so how are they?

I'm also running a K8T Master2, fast and stable here. I like it but I've been looking at a Tyan board with AMD8131, mainly for the NUMA support. But I like this board, it's nice.

Has Live Update EVER worked? Trying to download "AMD Chipset Drivers" 970A-G46

I just installed W8 clean, added 8.1, all the updates, and installed Live Update fresh to see if i actually works this time around.
I see that apparently it still is a piece of crap software.
Never have I found this program to take less than several hours / entire day to download something that I allegedly need. It will tell me my BIOS is up to date yet when I go to the MB page and compare the version from BIOS and Live Update, there IS a newer version there (heck it is up to 2.6 and I had a v 1.0B using Windows 7). Even after flashing with USB to 2.6, LU5 is still showing my BIOS version as 1.B0.
I just wound up manually downloading the internet, realtek audio, and usb drivers then installing them myself.
The only file that is missing from the MB page is what Live Update is telling me as "Not Installed": MB Driver /AMD Chipset Drivers/(current version) Not Installed/(online version) 13.101.0.0
I have been waiting at least 30 minutes downloading this file through LU5 which is only at 27%.
Is this even needed? Is the MB page THE DEFINITIVE page for downloads and should I just uninstall LU?

Yes, MSI will provide drivers for your motherboard off of their website, or with the disk that came with your motherboard. You had mentioned the newest drivers...the newest drivers will always come from the chip manufacture...ie AMD, Intel, Nvidia, etc.
AMD no longer has a specified chipset driver to the best of my knowledge. They have Catalyst...it pretty much takes care of everything.

it just depends if you have problems you have with your chipset!
if the answer is its working perfectly well and all the ports speeds are normal leave it alone and use your current ones!
if the answer is you are having issues with your USB ports or something else then update them!
(Newer drivers can sometimes induce problems with your system and it just depends if you have problems or not if its a good idea to update)

HP dv6-6188ca windows 7 pro 64b amd chipset 8G locks up copying files to/from external usb drive

When ever I try to copy a large (>2G) file to or from a external usb drive the computer starts the copy but gets stuck. It has to be powered off and the battery removed to get it to work again.

HP Pavilion 15-e084ca CHIPSET DRIVER for Win 8.1

Just looking to upgrade my Notebook to Win 8.1 64-bit, and noticed in the drivers section that there's no present Chipset driver. Why is this? Also, there are multiple drivers for the Wireless Card and Graphics Card. Which one should be downloaded and installed? All of them? I'm a big time noob when it comes to Drivers and Fresh Loading windows. Thanks for anyone who responds!

1. For chipset: Your machines uses " AMD Elite Quad-Core A10-5750M Accelerated Processor" therefore AMD is the chipset. Normally we can use Intel or AMD chipset driver (in this case AMD) from the maufacturer sites.
2. Graphics: You can use the first link and select Graphics card driver
3. Wireless: And you can use second link (last item) to work out which driver you have to download.

Seeking Chipset Driver

I am in search of an AMD Chipset Driver. I have an HP Pavilion p6-2100 Desktop PC that came stock with Windows 7 64 bit. I have since upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro. I have contacted AMD for assistance in locating this driver. AMD responded stating that I needed to contact my motherboards manufacturer, Pegatron. I contacted Pegatron and was told to contact HP. Can someone please help me get out of this loop? I attempted to access the driver section for my specific HP computer but the only Chipset driver offered was for the original Windows 7 64 bit driver.

HP ProBook 470 G2 switching video IntelGraphics with AMD Radeon R5 M255

Notebook HP ProBook 470 G2 - OS Windows 8.1 Pro
Although the device manager appears R5 M255 AMD Radeon video card, display adapter option only appears in Intel Graphics. Mention that was installed on the HP website driver AMD Hybrid Graphics Video Driver Version 133521004140406A170611C.A
Also, other drivers were installed on the HP website.
Please help me.

The answer was quite simple yet most people had dumb answers at best.
The system needs both drivers for Intel and AMD chipset.I will dispaly only Intel as Display Adapter but on heavy graphics use it will auto swich to AMD.You cannot choose what or when will work but tha how it works.

AMD dual core 4200 2.2 vs i7 2.7?

Besides the obvious, what's the difference between these two processors. Is there a significant power gain from the i7?
I have a PC running the AMD chipset with 3 megs of RAM and just bought a MBP 13" with the dual core i7. What kind of performance gain am I going to see?

I don't have both yet. Just ordered the MBP on a leap of faith. Hopeing the i7 is a much faster processor.

AMD Graphis Card Driver Problem

I am using HP PAVILION DV4 3129TX laptop,operating system Windows 7 Home Premium. When itried to migrate in windows 8.1,i faced some problem with the Graphics Card driver. When i try to install the graphics driver software for AMD Chipset,the screen shuts down and goes black. I tried software both from HP driver download and AMD catalyst software but the result is same. One thing more that the computers runs sometime internally only making sound but the display remains black. Intel graphics is ok,the problem occurs when i try to install the AMD driver. And my AMD graphics card model is AMD Radeon HD 6750M

For Switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units(GPUs). (Integarted GPU is (Mobile Intel Graphics) and (Discrete GPU is (AMD Radeon Graphics).
Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power_saving graphics mode(normally used under battery power) and a high-perfomance graphics mode.

Problems installing amd drivers on HP Dv7 for windows 10

I have the HP DV7 4263cl with switchable graphics AMD chipset M880G with both Mobility Radeon HD 4250 and AMD 6370m. My processor is the AMD Phenom II. The drivers on HP's support site for my laptop are very old (2010) and work fine in Windows 7. However when I try to install the drivers in compatability mode on in Windows 8.1 or 10 or manually install them through the device manager, my computer does not respond well and doesnt install everything fully and either shuts down or shows a blue error screen.
I have tried everything and haven't had any luck getting these installed. Please Help!!!!

Yours is the third post I've seen about switchable graphics not working in Windows 10. Sadly, you may have to simply hope for a Windows 10 driver update. Have you checked for a Chipset or BIOS/UEFI update? Maybe you would have better luck on the AMD forum. If you found my answer helpful please say thanks by clicking on the Thumb's Up icon. Thanks!

I am very new to building PC. My first build was in Feb 2014 (refer system 1), and the first problem I encountered was changing my SSD from System 3 to System 1, at that time I had no idea that my old SSD with AMD chipset is not compatible with System 1 so I ended up buying another SSD and OS. Now being highly satisfied by MSI, I have planned and ordered the parts for my next upgrades (refer system 2) feel free to point and correct on it.
I am changing motherboard from MSI Z87 PC-mate to MSIZ87M. I don't want to encounter the same problem again as I had with my previous build so please tell me if I need to do anything when changing the SSD from system 1 to system 2 because the chipset is the same i.e. Z87 or do I have to buy another set of SSD and OS?

i don't see any SSD listed in your configs
you no need to buy another SSD or OS,
if you change/move your SSD from config1 to config2 and if you planning your OS to be installed on the SSD,
then you have to reinstall OS on config2 over your SSD

ok heres what i know i have corsair 3200 value select with the same system MSI K8T athlon 64 3200
k just like 6 days ago i took out my motherboard and put in the rest of the motherboard risers the one by the ram had a plastic one in it and i put in all brass ones or whatever they are, and it started to bomb the on me drivers not installing correctly and stuff like what you guys are saying so i just took them back out last night and im gonna reinstall windows again to see if it helps( i reinstalled windows XP pro 5 times yesterday by the way trying to make my Radeon 9800XT work properly with the drivers and have 8x and fast write enabled cause that was messing up also) and i finally got it to where i could install most the drivers but 2 of my hard drives are missing so thats why im reinstalling, windows wont allow me to install the driver in any way so it might be somthing with the risers on the board
it was fine when it was missing the 3 on the end where the ide plugs are and i have my ram in slots 0 and 2 but that didnt seem to matter
so thats just my experience to right now

AMD storage controller problems with a 3tb HDD

I recently bought a Seagate 3tb HDD to use as extended / secondary storage. It seems that AMD has not updated its storage controller to recognize >2tb yet. I cannot find drivers for my chipset anywhere at least. And it seems that noone running an AMD chipset is upgrading HDD's past 2tb? I know Intel came out with an update for their controller that fixed this problem. Is anything available for the AMD controller like this?

Gigabyte has no mention of this Motherboard existing on their support site.
AMD has nothing about their Storage Controllers on theirs.
I can see all 3tb in Disk Management, but i cannot partition past 2.2tb. The last 746.52Gb will be unusable.
AMD AHCI compatible RAID Controller driver version is 3.3.1545.14 and Microsoft says that it is the most up-to-date

That would be all the help I can offer because I don't know why all 3 TB of the drive can't be seen in one big partiton unless you didn't format it in GPT.
In order for all 3 TB to be seen in one partition, the drive has to be formatted in GPT.
